I have been planning on moving free things online to a new site, but just hadn't gotten around to doing it. Well finally I took the plunge and migrated the site to its own domain so be prepared for a lot of changes over the next few days and a much better site.
The site theme and concept of the site hasn't changed that much, but the site name has. Once I have completed the overall move and a few tweaking here and there you will be redirected to the new site.
Microsoft wants to say "sowwy" for the intermittent Xbox Live issues plaguing the service over the holiday, and they'd like to apologize with a free Xbox Live Arcade game. Major Nelson posts a letter from Marc Whitten, general manager of Xbox Live, which has a lot of customer service filler in it until the line about a free XBLA game for "all our Xbox Live members around the world"

Just stumbled on a software tool called hot spot shield that allows you to by pass hulu , pandora restrictions for us citizens only. "The program works by creating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that prevents websites from seeing that you’re outside the site, and according to usage reports, doesn’t diminish connection speeds (or put you at risk for spyware, a danger from other run-of-the-mill web proxies)." according to marashable website. Am sure this will be handy for those of you looking to use pandora or hulu.

Powderhouse Productions is getting ready to launch ShoeTube.tv, a web channel devoted to nothing but shoes. For thoes of you who might not be familiar with this company they create documentaries such as megaStructures featured on national geographic channel, extreme engineering , world in the balance etc.
ShoeTube.tv is promising to deliver and feature a mix of broadcast-quality programming, user-generated videos/photos, and sponsor-created content. I was just thinking a youtube for shoes thats a bit odd, but then thought to my self well this could be a pretty good niche, just imagine how many women are crazy about shoes and would spend hours on this site, it could become quite a lucrative en devour.

The site is slated to launch in February 2008, geared toward women 18 to 44, the site also hired fashion writers to blog about shoes and build forums. Shoe fanatics can comment as well as upload their own shoe videos.

Some blog owners don’t make it easy to subscribe. Either there is no icon for the RSS feed or it’s hidden way below the fold. Something as easy as adding a prominent RSS button that stands out near the top of the blog template with the word “Subscribe” near it can increase the number of return visitors substantially. If your blog does not place a RSS graphic high on the page, then you’re missing out on a substantial amount of return traffic and visibility.
If your a user of Feedburner you might have also noticed it doesn't really give you much variety in terms of button designs and size, your very much limited to a few choices and if your not much of a photo shop expert then you pretty much don't have a choice. For those of you who might want to go for a different feel of rss buttons and stand out amongst the rest then the following links will definitely be of some use to you.

Would like to wish everyone a blessed merry Christmas and a happy new year. Drive safe play safe and be safe and keep coming back will be having plenty more daily great content coming up. I have to admit I spend an awfully long time online, my job requires it, my previous college/university projects required it. Over the past few years the internet has helped me tremendously in my learning experiences. Most of the time during college /university programming projects I never used to ask the lecturers how to solve a problem due to lack of faith in them, I was never satisfied with the answers I received, most of them if they didn’t know would say “Google it” or am sure if you search the web you will find the answer so most of the time I resorted to finding my own answers online. This may be different for other people as I’m in programming field most of the materials are in abundance via the web.

I believe what makes you a brilliant student is not always about going to the best universities in the world or the most expensive institutions, all that is great and I encourage it, but its about taking it upon your self to take the initiative to want to learn and take that extra step to self learn and go beyond just the assignments, explore different areas in your subject field and always continue to look for more challenging tasks to get you to think and expand your thought process.

Gone are the days where you had to pay a hefty tuition fee in order to attend a course or college/university. Given the time and the will to learn you can pretty much about learn most of the things online if you just take out the time to search for it.
Web learning gives you an alternative means of learning. And for those of us you might not have the cash to go off to Massachusetts Institute of Technology or Stanford , online learning is definitely an alternative or a supplementary option.

I have started to see a increasing growing number of institutions offering online educations for free, its amazing how some of this great content is been offered to the public at zero cost. This enables any person to rip the benefits with out having spend and you can further your knowledge and training for less than even the cost of buying a book.
There are many top universities that offer free courses online. Below I will list some of university courses for people who want to enhance personal knowledge or advance in their current field.

MP2P Technologies announced today the launch of Omemo, an altogether new type of P2P network. It creates a virtual hard drive in which users may save files, however, said files are stored in cyberspace rather than on the user’s local hard drive. Omemo’s distributed storage network is fast and scalable creating a nearly limitless supply of storage space and freely available, uncensored data that can include digital music, video clips, images, software, and documents.

Unlike Google’s anticipated but not yet delivered storage offering, Omemo empowers its users to share resources by creating an open source based P2P network that brings together available free space from hard drives willingly shared by users. It allows users to add, share, and organize their own content - anonymously - thereby forming an exhaustive, live multimedia library managed exclusively by the Omemo community.

Omemo is essentially a multimedia version of the wildly popular Wikipedia but built upon our P2P network,” said Pablo Soto, CEO of MP2P Technologies, and a 28yo developer who was also behind Blubster and Piolet. “Our development team has worked diligently to create something new to advance P2P file-sharing and bridge it to the 'wikiocracy’ born out of the social media revolution. Welcome to the O-Drive.”

To further ensure privacy and the principles of online democracy, Omemo is both anonymous and controlled by the community and no single, centralized authority. Every aspect is 100% community policed; from the promotion of superior content through community voting, to the organization of files, and the flagging of inappropriate content, for example.

"There is no way to know who uploads a file, nor who downloads it," a spokesperson says.
Omemo shares resources, not files. In fact, the Omemo network is so vast that it is capable of hosting countless copies of the entire Wikipedia website or could host the Radiohead digital storefront without any of the bandwidth issues they experienced with their ambitious IN RAINBOWS release,” added Pablo Soto.

For those of you who haven't started taking advantage of your free Gmail storage space you might want to give the following extensions a try.

Use gmail as a hard-drive

G-Mail Drive is small application that literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder by creating a virtual drive that allows you to use Gmail as a storage medium allowing you to perform saving and retrieve files as if it where your local hard drive.
You can drag and drop files into the drive, or use standard cutting and pasting. When you add a file, it sends an e-mail to your Gmail account with the file as an attachment. If you delete a file from the virtual drive, it deletes the associated e-mail, as well. Thats pretty about all you can do, but a pretty hand tool and an easy way of having an alternative means of backing up your files.

Listen to Music and Playlists from Gmail

For firefox users you might want to try out Gmail Files space to store and manage music by installing the extension, uploading some music, and then entering Player mode. From there you can create playlists from the music you've uploaded and play them in the embedded flash player.
Locate incredible Amazon discounts with DealLocker's secret Amazon Discount service a tool to find the secret and not so secret Amazon discounts. The bit torrent world is your haven, you’re the type of person who just can’t wait for you’re downloads to complete. Your constantly checking, validating to see how many minutes are left and how many downloads have successfully completed. So why should you let a little thing like being away from your home computer stop you from keeping tabs on your downloads. Previously I posted on using uTorrent’s webUI (web user interface) tool to control and monitor your bittorent downloads remotely, using webUI. Using this great plug-in works just fine, but that’s not the only way you can monitor your downloads.
uTorrent has a Google widget/gadget for your Google Home page/igoogle that allows you to remotely monitor your downloads, take note this gadget only allows you to remotely monitor so the sad thing is you can only watch without control over your downloads. The good thing is you can embed this gadget about anyway online for example in blog or website etc.

How to set you your uTorrent gadget

The first thing you need to do is download and set up the utorrent webUI plugin if you haven't done so already take a quick read on my previous step by step on how to achieve this. Once you have performed all the steps outlined in the guide you can head on to your Google home page. Take not you will need to have an active Google account in order to gain access to your Google home page.

step 1 : login into your Google Homepage.
On your Google Homepage select "Add stuff " the button located at the top right hand side of your page.

step 2 :
Now you should see the Add gadget menu.
Select "Add RSS Feed" this link is located near the bottom left hand side of the page.

Once done this should invoke a pop textbox that will allow you to enter the following URL http://conradpoohs.com/uTorrent.xml

Take note they are two variants of this gadget that I have seen so far via the uTorrent forums. The first link above gives you the following gadget see pic below.

The second URL http://river.hidden.googlepages.com/uTorrent.xml gives you a gadget that looks like this

The main difference is the first link gives you a gadget that has an extra option to limit the total number of active torrents downloading (just for cosmetic purposes).

After clicking the "add" return to your Google HP. You should then see the one of the gadgets above depending which link you decided to use.

step 3: What we need to do now is configure the gadget so that it will then display the torrent trackers currently loaded in the uTorrent

In the "Address" box you will enter your IP address. If you are unsure what it is go to the myipaddress.com and it will tell you your address.
The "Port" box is for the port you currently have open as the listening port for incoming connections to the uTorrent. You can find it under uTorrent's options ->"Preferences" -> connections tab as shown below.

Lastly, for the "Guest username" type guest this is the default for admin login type in the username you previously chose to use with the webUI plugin.

If you have reach this part your pretty much done you should have all the information entered as shown in this picture below.

click save and you should see your active torrents

Post your comments here or problems you might face in trying to configure this gadget. Take note if your behind a router you will need to look up port forwarding for your specific brand and type of router this is different on every router.

To map your ipaddress to something more meaningful have a look at how to setup you own domain name for free.
Monitor uTorrent via google home pages.

will be posted on 15 December 2007

If you haven't seen my previous post of how you can control and monitor your uTorrent client remotely see it here.
Am continuously amazed at how many free web tools are available online and new startups popping up literally everyday. I believe we are coming to a time where computers will just be an empty box with no operating systems ,everything will be done via a web browser. On that note Adobe Labs has launched Brio Beta, the next generation of Adobe Acrobat Connect, a web meeting service built with collaboration in mind for individual professionals and small businesses.

Brio beta allows you to host unlimited online meetings with up to 3 meeting participants, via your web browser.
Some of the features brio has
  • screen sharing
  • interactive white board feature to perform sketches for illustration purposes
  • Access your meeting with a personalized easy URL
  • document file sharing
  • integrated VoIP,
  • teleconferencing and multi-point video
Thats pretty much a mouth full.

Take not its still in beta you can give it a try here
Send outgoing email messages from a different email address using Acebird.com. Acebird is a web app that seems to do the impossible. You can send email that appears to come from any email address (even those that you don't own). At first blush, Acebird seems like a very controversial application. While Acebird certainly has many practical applications, it can also be used to do heavy damage. Nevertheless, if you ever have a legitimate need to send email from someone else's account, Acebird is a good way to go about doing so. There are two ways that I've been able to identify email coming from Acebird: the mailed-by server is "gator344.hostgator.co" (when it should be something more recognizable like "gmail.com"), and there is no way to customize the name of the sender.

Well they was youtube now there's filesTube a search engine dedicated to files what kind of files? well things like (rapidshare files, megaupload files etc) .
This a much better way of searching for such files and its apparently not powered by Google, that means what you might not be able to find using Google you might just find using filestube. I have to admit they where a few search queries that did not produce any relevant results using Google search but filestube managed to get some pretty relevant results some where spot on. Overall the web interface is clean and its not clattered with advertisements making the surfing experience that much better.

I just noticed people are using this search engine to find nothing else but porn , most of the top searches are porn my goodness.

Other things you can do with the service

Download lists.

Organize your search results. You can easily group download links in manageable lists. You can also share your download lists with friends.

Download history.

Keep track of your downloads. By default every file downloaded with FilesTube is shown in your download history. This enables you for example to quickly find links of downloaded files for ratings and comments.

Link submission

When you're trying to find someone online, Google's not the only game in town. In the last two years, a handful of new people search engines have come onto the scene that offer better ways to pinpoint people info by name, handle, location, or place of employment. While there's still no killer, one-stop people search, there are more ways than ever to track down a long-lost friend, stalk an ex, or screen a potential date or employee. The next time you wonder, "What ever happened to so-and-so?" you've got a few power people search tools to turn to.

Note: Stalking is serious business. When we say 'stalk,' we're exaggerating, not recommending.

Find Phone Numbers and Addresses with ZabaSearch

zabasearch.png Look up anyone's home address(es) and phone numbers at ZabaSearch, a creepily-comprehensive people search engine that will freak you out when you search on your own name but save your ass when you desperately need a former coworker's phone number. ZabaSearch's index includes listed and unlisted numbers and addresses (though the founders say all the info is public record.)

Search the "Deep Web" with Pipl

My favorite new search engine of the bunch, Pipl digs up information about a person Google often misses, supposedly by searching the "deep web" (or "invisible web.") Pipl returns an impressive number of results for most people who use their "real" names online, including personal web pages, press mentions, MySpace pages, and Amazon wishlists. You can also narrow your search for common names by entering city, state and country, too.

Search Several Social Sites at Once with Wink

So the person you're looking for likely has a Friendster, LinkedIn, MySpace, Twitter, or Xanga account? Instead of searching each service individually, enter their full name or screen name, plus other identifying information like interests and location at Wink to do a one-hit comprehensive search of all those services at once.

Get Employment Results at ZoomInfo

Job-centric search engine ZoomInfo aggregates people and company information in one place to help candidates find the right job, but its people search tool also turns up information about corporate types especially well. ZoomInfo's information listings on people, culled from the web, include people's employment history and current job title, whether or not they're looking for a job. Search by a person's full name at ZoomInfo, and when you get too many results, filter them by geography (U.S. and Canada only.)

Find More than College Students at Facebook

Incessant notifications, Beacon, and zombies aside, one of Facebook's greatest utilities is finding people online, and it's not just for students anymore. Chances are your grandmother set up a Facebook account this year, so all those annoying emails might be worth tracking down your best friend when you were 9 years old who moved to Florida on Facebook.

I have been speaking English since forever, but just sometimes once in a while you run into some words that you just have no clue how to pronounce. I came across a great pronunciation tool or audio dictionary whatever you want to call it, that might just help in this situation and thought I should share it, maybe it might be of some use to you. HowJSay offers instant audio of a huge collection of words pretty much said the right way. I can just imagine how this tool could save you from one of those embarrassing moments when you stumble on a word giving a speech or presentation to a captive audience, and you end up saying bob wire instead of barbed wire.
I haven't come across a free rapidshare premium account that works. most of the claims I have come across are just plain bogus or are horribly complex and strenuous for the non tech savvy users to perform without hurting them selfs. Some ways of getting rapidshare account sound legit but you have to perform quite a few tasks , like signing up for affiliate products referring friends to paid services just to get a premium account which will probably be limited to a less than 3 months then your back to square one. If your frustrated with the rapidshare waiting times that keep increasing after each download or tired of continuously searching how to by-pass tricks then you can try out this great service I stumbled upon a sweet gem that am sure your going to love Rapidgrab.

Rapidgrap is a free service that allows you to literally have unlimited downloads from rapidshare with the capability to pause and resume your downloads using one of the download manager recommended by the creators of rapidgrab flashget or orbit. All you will need to do to start using this service is copy and paste your rapidshare link into the textbox shown on the main site enter secret code and grab the new rapidgrab link of your entered rapidshare link. Copy paste the link into the download manager and your good to go.

Take note according to the FAQ version 1.7.x of flash get are recommended for best performance.

download flashget1.7.x here
download orbit here

To have the illusion of continuous downloading you can queue up all your downloads and resume so as each one finishes the next will begin.
According to the site FAQ download speeds will be upto 200 KB/sec for the first 800 MB. After you reach this limit, download speed will be limited to 32 KB/sec. During my testing averaged between 25 - 35kb/sec. I cant complain its a free service.

Overall the services works great so far i kid you not and definitely beats having to wait for that counter you know what I mean if your a user of rapidshare.

if you have tried this service out post your comments let me know what you think of it.
You probably have heard the term content is king one to many times over and over again. If you have not the reality is it is. Theirs one sole purpose most of us visit websites that’s to view some form of enticing content, that’s probably why your reading this. Without a continuous flow of new unique content a website or blog is bound to fail over time or stay stagnate. Content has potential to boosts ones incoming traffic, which then leads to potential monetary gains. I will not dive into this subject as it goes beyond the main point of this post.

This mini article is all about PLR articles the good and the bad. I have tried to bring my insights in an unbiased manner, so you can get the full picture about PLR article. Whether you’re convinced to use them or not it’s entirely up to you the reader to decide whether it’s the best approach to take in your quest to building internet traffic, an online presents or credibility and authority online. Another issue which I will address is How to pick the right PLR content distributor, Part 2 will outlines some of the best PLR services online and some free online services you can use to check wither your articles are 100% unique, before publishing them to your blog or website or to Ezine directories.

Firstly let’s take a look at what PLR (Private Label Right’s articles) are. The term PLR refers to articles that are written and made available for several purchasers (you) to buy and use with no strings attached. PLR articles give you the purchaser total control over the article to do what you please literally. That means you can change it claim it as your own created work without having to worry about any copyright infringement. You can include links to your products or affiliate products, change or add any graphics you wish, edit or use the existing content as is, submit to article directories in order to generate more back-links to your site, but of cause all this comes with a price to pay.

For those of you who keep up to date with my blog would know that most of the services I blog about are 100% free as I am an advocate of free things, but the reality is that something’s are best bought, If your going to go for PLR articles you should be prepared to spend a wee bit of cash, nothing much though that will leave a noticeable dent in your bank account. If you’re serious about leveraging articles as means of internet marketing and not willing to pay a bit then don’t even bother try getting the free articles.

Why would you want to use ready made articles for your website or Blog?

  1. Time is major factor for some of us; we simple can’t find or don’t have enough time to start pumping out articles a day and have enough time do our daily chaos.
  2. Writing is not much of your thing.
  3. Your just plain lazy or overly procrastinate getting nothing done.
  4. You don’t have enough ideas or inspiration on your respective niche. I believe once you think it at least 90% of the time theirs something like it similar online make it all the more difficult to come up with a truly original idea. Take note 90% is an arbitrary figure.
  5. Hiring ghost writers at places like elance.com to write unique content for you can become quite an expensive endeavor for the average Joe.

Benefits of PLR articles

PLR articles are more cost efficient than hiring someone to write articles for you generally available for $5- $30 for 5 to 200 PLR articles and some as low as 80 cents a piece. Having PLR articles at hand could be a great benefit and would make all the difference in building up traffic and more readers to your website or blog.

Another major benefit is building your brand through article marketing by structuring PLR articles into opt in newsletters, auto responder, special reports or free give away or pay-ware e-books. These can build credibility and a strong online brand. Consistent information of value keeps your readers coming back to you

PLR articles can be used to develop new content websites; you can use them for blog posts, to add additional supplementary content to an already established site or maybe these sites could be a source of generating money via pay per click services or affiliate programs such as click bank.

Maybe your going away on holiday but yet still want to make your blog or website appear as if its been updated daily you can use PLR articles as a way to set your site on auto pilot allowing you to automate your article publishing process.

Your cant write to save your life ok maybe that’s a bit too much, maybe your English is not that good. It's much easier improving a ready made article than writing a brand new one entirely from scratch. PLR Articles are a godsend for those who are having trouble writing their own articles

As most experienced online marketers know, writing unique quality content is not only difficult, if not outside the reach of most people without an innate talent for this, but it is not by itself any guarantee that more money can be generated from simply publishing more of it. PLR articles can serve as a way to generate more ideas for your respective niche.

Most private label articles are written by professionals and compiled with the latest research and information by writers who do this for a living time saved in performing your own research on the topic. That’s been done for you , the need to spend valuable time performing such tedious tasks is omitted.

The not so goods about PLR articles

Some of the problems of PLR articles are not necessary related to the quality of the written content itself, but by the distributors of the PLR articles.
