About the AuthorWant to get in the best shape of your life Article Source: Content for Reprint Tue, 14 Oct 2008 15:49:45 +0200 A lot of people get into blogging for money because they hear about the fantastic success some people have enjoyed. Its hard to not envy someone who is earning 5, 6 or even 7 figures a year from their blog.
Trouble is, for many people earning the way someone else does becomes their sole focus. They do their best to copy the successful people they see around them, rather than be themselves. The biggest problem with imitating the more successful bloggers around you is that its easiest to be nothing more than an imitation. You dont stand out. And if you dont stand out, youre not going to get people interested in what you have to say. Its one thing to take occasional inspiration from those who are doing better than you are. But if thats the only thing you do, youll have more trouble developing your own voice. Be aware of what others in your niche are doing, but find ways to stand out. Take a controversial position. Have fun. Worry less about whats working for others and figure out what works for you. The thing about blogging is that you can learn quite a bit about what successful bloggers are doing, and still not succeed with your own blog. Youre different people, after all, and the different approaches you take to similar tasks will not get you the same results. If you really need to compare yourself to someone, take a look at the people who are at your same level of the game. Watch the people who are doing exceptionally well, if you like, but in many ways your most direct competition comes from the people who know about as much as you do. Even then you dont want to focus too much on what the other people are doing. You should be focused more on what you can do. So What Should You Be Doing There are some things you absolutely need to get done to succeed as a blogger. 1. Develop your own voice. You dont want to sound like everyone else. Be yourself. Have your own style and your own opinions. If you love covering industry news, cover it. If you dont, leave it alone except when it catches your attention. 2. Write for your blog - a lot Many of the most successful blogs are posted to more than once a day. Sure you can get away with less, but you may get less attention. Dont overdo You can annoy readers if you are writing so fast that you forget quality in favor of quantity. Or if you just provide too much information for them to read. Theres a balance to be struck, and its up to you to decide what that balance is. 3. Comment on other blogs. Yes, this takes away from your writing time. But its a great way to network with your fellow bloggers and get visitors. Dont worry about whether the links to your site are "do follow" or "no follow." Dont constantly link to your own posts within the body of your comments. Dont be self promotional in general. Be a genuine contributor. Your comments will stick better and bring better attention to your blog. Am I perfect with these Heck no I post on this particular blog far less than I should, but I have others that are more of a focus for me. I have also dropped blogging on sites that I simply do not have time for right now. As my personal life changes I may pick them back up, but for right now theyre on the back burner. And of course I sometimes wish I could succeed as wildly as certain other bloggers. But I dont let that get in the way of working on my blogs in my way. Article Source: Content for Reprint Tue, 14 Oct 2008 15:25:29 +0200 After you have dated someone for several months, it is natural to wonder about your relationships level of exclusivity. After all, most long-term relationships seem geared toward commitment at some level. However, left unspoken, many people have a tendency to think that their partners feel the same way they do. They are often surprised to discover that their partners feel differently.
Are you and your dating partner equally committed to each other and to your relationship In this article, well explore how your past relationships may signal your own inherent aversion to commitment. Plus, well describe a few of the obstacles on the way toward enjoying an exclusive, loving relationship. Is Your Past Telling When pressed, most people will claim that they would like to pursue a committed, loving relationship with someone who feels the same. However, our past relationships often betray our claims. That is, the people we have dated in the past may have exhibited behaviors that seem inconsistent with a committed relationship. When there is a trend of such behaviors, it may imply that we are not looking for commitment. For example, assume that you have dated a string of people who have been consistently unfaithful. Rather than leaving them, you have remained in those relationships until they have imploded of their own accord. The willingness to stay may be mistaken for commitment, but can actually imply a self-sabotaging tendency. Ghosts Of The Past The older we get, the more emotional baggage we carry. Ideally, we are able to dispel most of it and get on with our lives. However, many people collect the baggage from the past and carry it with them into new relationships. Unresolved, this baggage can sabotage the new relationship. Unless we take the necessary time to resolve past transgressions, forging a healthy commitment with another person is unlikely. In effect, we need to achieve closure and leave the ghosts of the past in the past. Fulfillment, Then Commitment Nobody else can make you feel fulfilled about yourself. It comes from within. Seeking it from someone else puts undue and unfair strain and pressure on that other person. That said, once you feel okay with who you are as a person, it is much easier to develop a loving relationship that is built upon mutual commitment. At this point, you should look for consistencies between you and your dating partner. Do you share the same ideals about morality Are your long-term goals and desires compatible Is your partner coping with any personal issues such as addictions, health concerns, or other problems Uncovering the answers to these questions is the next step toward a committed relationship. And it requires communication. Being Upfront With Your Partner In dating relationships, many people have a tendency to avoid direct communication about issues. Exclusivity and commitment are good examples. Sometimes, one partner assumes the other feels the same about the level of commitment - or, lack thereof - in the relationship. Other times, one partner may fear the answer and simply avoid asking. In both cases, the ambiguity can create a major problem. If you are in a relationship and want it to be exclusive, you need to be upfront with your partner. Maybe they feel the same as you; maybe they dont. But, uncertainty will only exacerbate the issue. Assuming that you are ready for a commitment, clearly communicating as much to your partner is the surest path toward enjoying a fruitful, loving relationship with each other. The first is that of a child locator that fits on the wrist of child. The second is that of a watch on the arm of an athlete usually a long distance runner. Both of these watches are essentially the same, but used in very different ways.
The first watch is used almost entirely to track and keep tabs on a child. A concerned parent will outfit their child with a GPS tracking watch just in case the worst were to happen to their child. They feel that it gives them the peace of mind that they need to send their child off to school, or to the park, or to the mall. They often feel that this locating device is exactly what they will want if an abduction or kidnapping were to occur. Normally watches like this help the parent take back some power that they felt has been stolen from them in our society of parental isolation. They cannot trust their neighbors to keep an eye on their children with them because we are so distanced from those that live around us, especially in suburbia. At a mall with a thousand people in it, your child could become entirely lost and could not see a single familiar face. People might walk by your child without even know that they are lost or in need of assistance. A child locator watch is exactly what parents need in this circumstance. If they have an internet enabled phone, they can check their providers website and find the location of their child to within a few meters. Or, if the watch has a two way communication feature, the parent can call the childs watch and communicate with their child - letting them know that everything is going to be okay and that they dont need to worry. They then can get the information from the child that they need to locate them, ending the issue and empowering the parent. Fitness GPS tracking watches work a little differently than a child GPS tracking watch. Most fitness watches are simply data loggers, gathering and storing information on the watchs computer to be analyized at a later time. All you need to do with one of these watches is put it on your wrist, strap on your heart monitor if you model supports one, turn your watch on, and head out on your run. These watches will do all the work for you, recording your speed, elevation, and heart rate for you to see. They even will record your actual location so that you can integrate it with some mapping software back on your PC. Sometimes this software comes with your watch and sometimes you can use free software like Google Earth, it simply depends on the make and model of your watch. These watches are good for fitness applications and while they can be used for other things like analyzing you heart rate when you drive they are pretty much only good for that. As you can see, both types of GPS tracking watches provide the same essential GPS tracking function but do so for different purposes. A child GPS tracking watch is logs GPS information and then sends it out for the parent to see. A fitness GPS tracking watch, on the other hand, simply logs information for you to download later. Both have their place in, and both are used differently. About the AuthorGetting the most out of your gps tracking watch is very important. Article Source: Content for Reprint Tue, 14 Oct 2008 15:05:25 +0200 Here is my description of the top ten defenses in the NFL. This season looks to be a roller coaster and a lot of teams will have trouble staying on top of this list. This was written after week three so things may change from now to later in the season.
10. Arizona Cardinals: They have some of the sickest safeties in the league. Were talking Adrian Wilson and Antrel Rolle. The corners are not bad either. I mean they got Rodgers Cromartie as well as other consistent players. They would be higher on this list but their run defense is suspect. I havent heard of any of their linebackers or defensive lineman. And Im sure you havent either. They are allowing 100 yards per game rushing which is not bad but they have played San Fran, Miami, and Washington. So not the toughest foes just yet. 9. Green Bay Packers: They would also be much higher if they hadnt just lost Al Harris for a couple games. They have a great secondary and just couldnt keep it together against a great Cowboys offense last weekend. They gave up 48 points against the Lions, come on its the Lions. They fired their coach this past week cause hes so horrible. They may be a playoff team but that is partly because of their offense. 8. N.Y. Giants: Here is a team with tons of big name lineman and linebackers. Plus that is without Michael Strahan. Can I just say Daaang They are holding teams to 84 yards per game rushing and 167 through the air. Not bad week in and week out. They blitz hard and they seem to get like 6 to 8 sacks a game. Their secondary keeps opponents in check and doesnt get beat deep. 7. Philadelphia Eagles: Solid defense all around. Yes they gave up 40 plus against the Cowboys. But that is a stellar offense on that Dallas team. It was literally the two best teams going at it, but I digress. They have been holding their other opponents scoring to a minimum and will dominate throughout the year. Held Pittsburgh to six points and St. Louis to three As Borat once said "Very Nice" 6. Tennesee Titans: As hard as it to not talk about the offense, I will attempt it. Well, their defense is going to be on the field a lot longer which will lead to more teams scoring on them once they get tired. They are in the top ten because they have done all right so far. However maintaining this will take a miracle. Good luck Titans 5. Dallas Cowboys: This team I would like to put higher but everyone above of them is just outrageous on defense. They have a stellar backfield now with Pac Man Jones and Terrence Newman. Linebackers like Zach Thomas and Demarcus Ware make up a vicious pass and run stopping team. 4. Buffalo Bills: With Donte Whitner at Strong Safety and other all around players on D these Bills keep shutting down opponents. They also have Marcus Shroud at Defensive Tackle, that guy can play They could stay at the top of their division if they keep playing like this. Out with the oldNew England in with the newBills. Who knows we could get a repeat of the Cowboys Bills Super Bowls. 3. Minnesota Vikings: Holding teams to 70.3 rushing yards per game, that is second best in the league. On top of that their pass defense is ridiculously good. They have Darren Sharper at Safety and Antoine Winfield and Cedric Griffin for Corners. Their defensive line is the one Coaches drool over. If they can get their offense clicking that would benefit their defense so they have some time to sip some Gatorade and cool off. 2. Pittsburgh Steelers: I cant remember a time in my lifetime where they werent amazing on defense. They might have trouble keeping it together though this season as Casey Hampton and Brett Keisel of the defensive line are out for the season. 1. Baltimore Ravens: Wow. Maybe I should stop right there. They are holding their opponents to 70 yards per game on the ground and 90 yards through the dark sky their foe must be seeing. Yes I know what your all thinking, why didnt I get them on my fantasy team, well Im in the same boat but lets move on. Now yes you could say they only played 2 opponents thus far. But still, the Browns and Bengals are struggling, but they still have threats on offense like Chad Johnson that were contained by the Ravens.
