We made it. Not the way we had planned, but as Allen always says, "Computers and Murphy's law go hand in hand". We will try to do the talkshoe thing again soon, but for this podcast we will have to settle for the old fashioned way. We review our usual website, free software, podcast and give some helpful tips. It's our one year anniversary! We just keep coming, like the energizer bunny. This Podcast takes a look at Google's new start page called igoogle. You've got to get one. It is so cool. Allen shows us Adobe's new smaller reader called "digital edition." Lon introduces us to Greg Boyd's sermon podcast. He's the pastor at Woodland Hills Church. Allen tells us how to get those large files to friends and family without clogging up our email. Next month on Friday July 13 at 9:00 p.m. CST we are doing the live show on talkshoe again. Twelve months of Good News Geeks! Who would have thought? Allen and Lon are back at it with a great new show. In this episode we look at a movie review website called Crosswalk and in particular a review on the movie just out on DVD, Deja Vu starring Denzel Washington. A free program called Scratch is showcased. The kids will love this animation video creation software. We sample a podcast called Napkin Scribbles with Leonard Sweet (we listened to something else by him in podcast 6). And, Allen tells us everything we will ever need (or want) to know about Bluetooth Technology. Leave us a comment. We'd love to get your feedback.

We had a great time with out first live show on TalkShoe. We hope to do it again in the future, so if you like what you hear join in next time. Of course we talked about websites, software, podcasts and tech tips like we always do. Lon and Alan had some of their own recommendations like always, but what made this show great was the input by the listeners. All the links mentioned in the podcast are on the website. Lon shares a website and new technology called Talkshoe and announces that Good News Geeks is going Live! On Wednesday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. CST you can listen to a live streaming version of our show. We'd love to have you in the chat room and/or on the air with us.
Just in time for tax season, Allen comes up with a free tax software called Taxact.
Rob Bell makes another appearance on our podcast as we review his podcast (or his church's podcast).

We just celebrated Valentine's Day so there's lots of love to go around in this podcast. Lon shares a website called Follow The Rabbi and discusses the difference between Greek and Hebrew thinking. Allen comes through with another great app! This month he introduces us to FastStone, a photo management and editing program. Lon shares The Internet Monk with us during the podcast review section, and Allen gives us some great tips on being safe with wireless hot spots. The new Year is off to a good start and here is the first Podcast we have this year. We will review a cool website called The Ooze and talk about an article posted there that discusses the 80/20 principle. We will introduce you to some cool Google Apps that help you do 3-D modeling and share documents and spreadsheets. The podcast we review is called On the Verge, and explores more topics in the emergent church movement. Allen also has some great tips on how to best burn DVD's and how to solve problems with your DVD player not playing DVD's.

In podcast 6 Lon review's the self proclaimed "largest spiritual website on the internet", beliefnet. He also looks at an interesting belief survey and theological worldview survey; Allen tells us about a free money management software program called AceMoney; Lon talks about another emergent church podcast called wiredparish.com; and Allen gives suggestions for getting a laptop. We made it! Podcast 5 is out in spite of technical difficulties, getting our website hacked, and generally busy lives. In this podcast we review some interesting research about Gen Y on a Jewish website called Reboot; some free anti-virus software called AVG, and Avast; we also look at a unique prayer podcast; and suggest more tips for wireless networks. The new music artist featured is Adrina Thorpe. Her song is Round The Bend.
