From the markets of the old spice trade we purchase full lengths of cinnamon tree bark. We grind the meter-long sticks to a fine powder. We mix this pleasantly pungent spice with coconut oil, heat slightly, then strain to create a smooth, non-abrasive oil. We add this rich, reddish brown oil to the soap mixture at the end of the process as a "superfatting" agent. In actuality, superfatting leaves some of the oils un-SOAP-afied resulting in a creamy moisturizing bar while still maintaining the amazing cleansing properties of a soap made with coconut oil.

From the tea fields of Java we purchase fresh green tea leaves that we use to render our green tea oil. This rich, green oil is added to the soap mixture at the end of the process as to preserve the tea's health enhancing benefits. Green tea is an extremely powerful antioxidant due to its high content of polyphenols, a class of bioflavonoid. Anti-oxidants aid in preserving a more youthful appearance by hindering the body's natural oxidation process of aging.

Our loofah sponge is cleaned, washed, dried, then milled to a fairly course grade perfect for scrubbing the body. The course fibres are then soaked overnight in coconut oil to soften them before they make their way into the soap mixture. We have created, and continue to support the local farming of this fruit. Traditionally, the Balinese use the Loofah as a vegetable in its younger state, however, by developing a need for this fruit in its ripened state, we have created a substantial local cash crop; for that we are proud!

To give the soap its intense, sparkling-sweet, lemony aroma we chose to combine Cold-pressed Lime and Lemon Myrtle essential oils. Lemon Myrtle has been found to be antibacterial, and anti-fungal; In fact, some studies show greater results than the better known tea tree. Lime essential oil balances overactive sebaceous glands that lead to oily or blemished skin, and helps clear acne. Then we add, French Red Clay as it is a powerful detoxifier. It acts like a magnet to draw out impurities from the body while the essential minerals within the clay are released.

The Seaweed we use for this soap comes from Bali's' open oceaned, southern tip; Nusa Dua. The local harvesters of that region plant the quick-regenerating seaweed in the pristine tidal pools of the Indian Ocean. Many nutrients that people need to survive are found in seaweed. Richer than any land plant, seaweed is recognized as a complex source of vital minerals, trace elements, proteins and vitamins. The vitamins & minerals nourish the skin helping to "soften" rough, dry skin and help to remove dead skin cells. Lime oil also exfoliates with a slight peeling action from the fruits acids, enlivening the complexion. Sage oil is antiseptic, reduces perspiration, and stimulates the circulation. Then finally, Tea Tree oil for its incredible healing and medicinal qualities.

The Balinese culture has used the healing power of volcanic sand from Mount Agung (Bali's largest live volcano) for medicinal and spiritual purposes from its ancient beginnings. When the great Agung last erupted in 1965 it spit rock and lava from its east-central jungle location all the way to the sea. Over the years, the volcanic rock, washing in and out to sea, has been transformed into a fine, nutrient-rich exfoliate. Our Volcanic sand comes from a spiritually "hot" place where lush, water-spinach fields overflow bubbling spring water into the ocean. Its purpose in this soap is to actively exfoliate skin allowing the body to produce new, fresh, younger looking skin.

One of my favorites in the Tea Tree Series, this soap reminds me of that Lemon Heads candy, sweet and sour SMACK. We load this soap with pure Lemon Myrtle essential oil from Australia. Lemon Myrtle is 10-30 times more "lemony" than lemon itself. Lemon Myrtle contains citral, the component responsible for its lemony aroma. Citral is also what makes this essential oil an excellent antibacterial, & anti-fungal; In fact, some studies show greater results than the better known tea tree essential oil.

Eucalyptus is wonderfully versatile in that it can cool in the summer & protect in the winter. It is anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibiotic, diuretic, analgesic & deodorizing. Furthermore, the variety we use for this soap, Blue gum eucalyptus, is the most well known of the eucalyptus varieties and has the typical fresh, clear, pungent, camphoraceous aroma that we expect eucalyptus to have.

This soap is pure pleasure from the moment you open the package. Spearmint essential oil shares many of the same properties as Peppermint. Its fresh, piercing, minty-sweet aroma is milder than peppermint and better for children. Spearmint essential oil stimulates a tired mind & helps with headaches, migraines, nervous strain, fatigue and stress. The ancient Greeks used spearmint to scent their bath water. In those medieval times spearmint was also used to heal sore gums and also to whiten teeth. For nervous indigestion; Add one drop of spearmint essential oil to a teaspoon of honey, dissolve in a cup of warm water, sip slowly.

From the markets of the old spice trade we purchase full lengths of cinnamon tree bark. We grind the meter-long sticks to a fine powder. We mix this pleasantly pungent spice with coconut oil, heat slightly, then strain to create a smooth, non-abrasive oil. We add this rich, reddish brown oil to the soap mixture at the end of the process as a maintain the cinnamon's medicinal properties.
