br> New York, NY - January 5, 2009- Marcus Goldhaber takes a variety of classic and original jazz tunes and turns them into gold on his new release Take Me Anywhere. As the title suggest the sounds on the new album can literally take you anywhere at any time. This timeless music with the sounds of traditional jazz backed by smooth and reflective vocalizations is reminiscent of early Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jr. As Marcus was growing up, his mother would call him over to the piano to teach him a new song every night. During this time he listened to a wide range of music that included Robert Smith, Jim Morrison, Sarah Vaughn, Elton John, Claude Debussy, Eddie Vedder, and Chet Baker, but at night he’d always go right back to the piano with his mom after dinner. Because of his exposure to music at an early age and the ability to learn the songs on the piano, today he is right at home with jazz and feels a kinship with genre interpreting the songs of Dorothy Fields, Sammy Cahn, Harold Arlen, Jimmy Van Heusen, Sammy Fain, and many others. Marcus Goldhaber offers listeners the perfect blend of yesterday and today, yet with a modern approach that stays true to the style of his music. Take Me Anywhere comes with promise of bringing these great tunes back to the younger generation so they too can enjoy their timelessness and pass them on the their families. “What a wonderful straight-ahead jazz vocalist from Buffalo; part Chet Baker meets a breathier Bobby Darin. Strong arrangements of some jazz standard classics and plenty of strong originals, especially the swinging lilt of “Take Me” with Hendrik Meurkens’s tasteful harmonica solo. Jon Davis and his trio play with just enough sauce to keep the songs from dragging.” -Culture Catch on “Take Me Anywhere” by Marcus Goldhaber and The Jon Davis Trio Visit Marcus Goldfaber’s website for media, merchandise, sound samples and more. New York, NY - January 5, 2009- Timing is everything in life and never is it more important than in the competitive landscape of the music industry. Brooklyn, New York native Barbara King hopes that the title of her debut CD carries some truth. Perfect Timing is a strong recording and critics everywhere are becoming aware of her presence prompting Lloyd Sachs of the Chicago-Sun Times to say, “Barbara King’s dusky, Sarah Vaughan-like qualities mark her as a talent to watch. On Barbara’s CCCMG Records debut release she presents jazz listeners a bevy of outstanding interpretations of standards and four original tracks that affirms her belief and position in life today. Jazz lovers will instantly recognize memorable and present day reflective tunes such as “Tryin’ Times” and “Forever Young.” The original tracks have plenty of impact as well, highlighting the expressive vocals of the young rising star. “Miracles” and “Perfect Timing” take the personal life of a singer and put everything into proper perspective. Barbara developed her fervor for singing at the age of seven where she sang in church and performed in school plays. Barbara also sang with the noted Vassar College Choir, her alma mater, which toured throughout the U.S. where they performed a variety of classical and popular tunes. That effort continued to develop her skills as a vocalist and after graduating from Vassar; she triumphantly returned to New York City and enrolled in Brooklyn Music School where she continued to study under the instruction of Roland Washington, a New York-based vocal coach. The pedigree and natural talent of Barbara King will become obvious to the astute jazz listener and certainly as time passes Perfect Timing will serve as the launching pad of one the great female vocalist to come out of New York in quite some time. New York, NY-December 9- Musicians have long set out to bring the world closer together with their music, but few endeavors have been as ambitious and successful as Garry Dial and Terre Roche’s Us An’ Them: A Collection of National Anthems (Made In New York). Jazz pianist/arranger/educator Dial and folk guitarist/singer-songwriter Roche have both sought to bring about positive change during their long and distinguished careers - Dial primarily through his work as a teacher at the Manhattan School of Music; Roche through her performing and songwriting in the group she formed with her sisters, The Roches. The couple found a true confluence of their individual philosophies in the seventeen year long process of bringing the anthems project to life.
