    • Here's My Card

It is ready to be downloaded. Make sure you get June's! I have my past issues available too if you wish to see them.

(some reason my cross posting isn't working anymore to LJ)
Please note and update your links, Bizcards Journal has now moved.
It is now located: http://blog.cardeologist.com and it is now called Bizcards Blog.

I have my Cross-post problem fixed now for those that go into my old LiveJournal blog ( LiveJournal UserInfobizcards). It was having problems with images that are placed in my blog, I found it to be from a plug-in that auto signed alt tags to the images placed in my blog, and LJ didn’t like the code it was using so it was dumping it. I tried to edit some of my past entries, so if you have noticed strange html errors on some, that is why. So my Cross-Posting should be fixed for the images part. Remember you can always comment on my new blog using your OpenID which is what LJ supports and uses too! =) If you do notice any past entries still like that, give me a comment to that entry and I will get it fixed asap. Plus, I do have a plug-in now that will e-mail you when I have replied to comments so you will know about these. Try it out today!

If you haven’t yet checked out my new blog, please feel free to do so!

This post in LiveJournal was CrossPosted from Bizcards Blog. You can reply to this comment using OpenID (which LJ uses), at my Comments Page. I am looking forward to hearing back from you all.

Today I gained 17 business cards from a collector in Sarnia, Ont., Canada. My new overall total is 151,026.

This post is open for LJers to reply directly on my LJ and not on my new blog. Do you like the fact that I am CrossPosting and did you know that you can reply to my post on my blog using OpenID, that means you can use example: http://[username].livejournal.com, instead of [username] you place in your own username, like bizcards. Do you like the fact that I am crossposting so you all can still see my entries I make or should I stop the crossposting? This entry was not placed in my new blog: Bizcards Blog. It was posted directly using Livejournal. BTW, if you all haven't seen my new blog yet, you should check it out.
sorry for any duplicate entries, it seems the new plugin' went through and posted the entries I already had on WP, which some of them were imported from LJ. So some dups on here.

What is your greatest accomplishment? What was the journey to get there?

My greatest Accomplishment is...
Attaining the Rank of Eagle

The Rank of Eagle, for those that don't know if the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. I attained my Eagle July 5, 1994. I had to advance in rank to move on my Trail to Eagle. I also had to earn "Skill Awards." They no longer have Skill Awards. Plus, I earned Merit Badges. I had to go on camping trips, do community service projects and serve as leadership position in my Troop.

For my Eagle Scout project, I did some landscaping. I landscaped around the Annex building of my old church. The building wasn't used for anything. They called it the Old Youth Building. Shortly, after I landscaped the building, they turned it into a Mother's Day Out building.

I started out in Cub Scouts as a Bobcat. I don't think they had Tiger Scouts then or near me. I have also served as Assistant Scoutmaster for 2 troops in Knoxville, TN and then 1 in Gaylord, MI.
I would like to find a local troop and help them. I have two numbers to contact about helping a local troop.

My old troop is no longer around, but I have heard they are trying to get the church to approve having the troop back again, this would be a few blocks from my house. Growing up it was just half a block away.

In the Scouts I got up to "Brotherhood" in the Order of the Arrow. (0A). Those in the BSA know what I am talking about.

I need to renew my membership to NESA (National Eagle Scout Association).

My resume even list that my greatest achievement is attaining my Rank of Eagle.

BTW, did you know that in Feb. 2010, Boy Scouts will be 100 years old?
I remember the 75th Diamond Anniversary while I was a kid in the Scouts (1985).
My Boy Scout troop even made it to the 50th Anniversary, forgot when now.

We should have DSL in just over a week!
I cannot wait to get rid of Dial-up.
We were going to go with this one provider, but it isn't available in our area,
because the telephone lines are still the "Old School" lines.
And I live very close to downtown Knoxville!
WTF?
Well, it is their loss and this other providers gain.
Now to buy a Wireless Router so both laptops can be online at the same time.
Then we can have Wi-Fi at our house for the family.
Today's fortune cookie...

LADY VOLS

On a job well done this season in basketball.
Pat Head Summitt you are a great Basketball Coach.
Keep up the great work!

Candace Parker, we will all miss you and I hope your shoulder heals well.
You will do well in the WNBA.

The Lady Vols now has 2 consecutive National Championships.
This is the 8th National Championship for the Lady Vols.

I got a Where's George hit!.

This bill has travelled 612 Miles in 269 Days, 21 Hrs, 37 Mins at an average of 2.3 Miles per day.
It is now 612 Miles from its starting location.

I entered this bill in Knoxville, TN and it is now in Red Bank, NJ.

Whining does wonders!
I want more hits and I want them now!
*fingers crossed*
Wish me luck!
As some of you know I changed my diet some.
Mostly limited the amount of sodium.
I will say, tons and tons of food have huge amounts of sodium in it.
More then I ever knew.

Well on Oct. 1, 2007 I weighed... 198.6 lbs.
A little over 6 months (April 7, 2008) and I now weigh... 181.2 lbs.
That is a loss of 17.4 lbs.

Right now I seem to drop around 1-2 lbs. a week.

I am almost at the weight I was when I got married, 175 lbs., almost 8 years ago this June.

I did start off exercising some, but never really stuck with it.
I am sure I could have lost more if I did.

Now my wife has lost somewhere around 30+ lbs.
She exercises a lot and she also counts her calories, fat intake, etc.
She keeps a food diary.

Just wanted to share with you all.
I was really thinking more and more of switch over from LiveJournal to WordPress.
Would anyone miss me when I am gone?
BTW, you all still can comment from your LiveJournal Account using OpenID.
Check out what I have so far: http://bizcards.wordpress.com.

Let me know what you think!

I would love to export all my LJ entries and comments and import them into WordPress.
I am just having problems with a program called LJArchieve, I keep getting and error and when I check the exported
XML file, it shows from 2004 to some time in 2006.
My sister, who has MS, is about to give birth.
They are inducing labor toward the end of this month.
This will be my sisters 2nd child.
So please keep her in your prayers and thoughts.
Thank!
We bought 2 Digital Converter Boxes for our T.V.
We used our two coupons I ordered awhile back.
We got a total of $80 ($40 each) off. We only had to
pay less than $10, plus tax for each one.
They seem to work rather well. There are some local Digital T.V. stations
I never knew we had. Most of the stations have two versions of their broadcasting.
It seems very neat, I wonder by February 29, 2009, how many more digital T.V. stations will be out.
Have you ordered your coupons yet?
If not you can visit: www.DTV2009.gov
or you can call (888) DTV-2009. Again their is a limit of 2 of these coupons per household.
We got our converter box from Walmart. The coupons you get, look like a gift card.
I just swipped mine at the credit card machine and it took off the money for it.

Do you all have a converter box for your old style aka analog T.V.'s?
or do you have a new T.V. with the built in Digital signal?

Bizcards Journal related post: #784397
& #743629.
Today I gained 4 Box Tops for my daughters school from a normal contributor in Plains Twp., PA.
Yesterday was so crazy! I didn't get to count my cards and totals until today.

I gained 102 business cards from Saturday, April 5, 2008. I gained 3 business cards from My Wife & Daughter. Along with 2 duplicates. I also gained 20 from someone in Seattle, WA. It did not have a return address on it, but did have a note saying they have been meaning to send me these ever since I was on National Public Radio (NPR) from nearly 2 years ago this 22nd of April. My story is still on the site, http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=5357097. I also gained 79 business cards from a Where's George user who lives in Maryville, TN and is now relocating to Renton, WA. This nice box of business cards included 5 business card boxes full of duplicates. I estimate I gained 2,300 duplicates. Back to the NPR story part. When that story airred, I had 85,000 business cards. Today, I have 150,440 business cards.

Business Card Briefs

Here some business card briefs. Enjoy these!

This article in Expert Clip from April 4, 2008 mentions...
A printing business is giving away free business cards if the Chicago Cubs wins the Pennant for 2008.
So a good way to perhaps get some free business cards, provided the Chicago Cubs can pull it of this year.
Reminds me of these furniture businesses that will give you the free furniture if it rains on Labor Day or such.
Read about the above brief

Check back again next Saturday for more Business Card Briefs. If you find an interesting "Business Card" story in the news, please be sure to Contact Me and share with me the link to that story. I would appreciate that very much. Who knows it may end up in my next Business Card Briefs post into my journal.

I gained 95 business cards today. I gained 94 business cards from a business in Oak Ridge, TN. I got 2 duplicates from this business. This is one of the businesses I faxed Bizcards Newsletter off the other day. Each month, I have a type of business, and I find fax numbers for those businesses and fax off a copy of my newsletter to them. Last month was my first month doing it. I faxed them off to Real Estate businesses then. This month, I faxed them off to auto dealerships. I only faxed the ones that are local to me. Back on to the business cards I gained. I gained 1 business card from My Wife, along with 1 duplicate. My new overall total is 150,338.

Have you all read my newsletter yet? If so, which issue and what do you think?
You can even download past issues from my Web site.
