For those of you who predicted a boy…I suggest NOT going to Vegas this weekend. It’s a girl! Lyla Grace is her name, which I absolutely love, so I’m really excited. The entire process of looking at every part of this little baby girl was so awesome, but the best part of everything was seeing Lyla let [...]

Welcome to Week 21. Okay, how perfect that the size of little Elyla is a BANANA today, because it has a double-meaning. The first is of course that he’s around 10.5 inches long now (notice I say ‘he’…that’s my prediction!) and starting to get restless. The second meaning is that we CANNOT WAIT until 3:10 today to find [...]

Jina felt the baby move last week, and I didn’t know how long it would take for me to enjoy the same experience, but apparently it was less than seven days! On Sunday morning while we were still waking up, Jina grabbed my hand and put it against her cute little belly. Suddenly I felt two [...]
Alright, here we are at Week 20 and that means it’s just ONE week until we find out if Elyla is an Eli or a Lyla. One miserably long stinkin’ week. With that comes our little contest. No prizes will be given out, but I will post the names of those who get it right. Okay, before we [...]

Okay, today is officially awesome. Jina just called to tell me she felt the baby move a few times, just a light fluttering. But it WAS the baby. Imagine my surprise when my eyes got all teary. I did NOT see that coming. I can’t wait to feel it myself sometime soon, I’m just so very, very excited. Also, [...]

Its hard to believe it’s already Week 19. Heck, that little floating baby to the right says we only have 148 days left! That’s crazy talk! Today the baby is the size of a delicious Mango, a fruit that I rarely purchase or eat. In fact, the only time I’ve really seen a mango was from [...]

This blog has been taken over by The Kid lately, which might be ironic considering what will happen once it’s born. I suspect my life will be turned upside down, and I actually cannot wait. But one thing that I’m trying to finish before that is school. For those that know, I’ve been attending the University [...]

Actually, I don’t think I’ve ever had sweet potato pie and it sort of sounds kind of weird. Still, my mom used to make a cool little sweet potato dish at Thanksgiving where they were all mashed up, had some marshmallows on top and tasted vaguely of pumpkin pie. If you haven’t guess it yet, Elyla [...]

Howdy and welcome to Week 17. Elyla is now the size of an onion, so we’re definitely veering off from the fruit department now. I am wondering if now that we’ve got vegetables, we’ll move to meats soon. I’m sure a small ham would work in a few weeks. Onions are a bit like avacados for me in [...]

I don’t like guacamole. Not a single bit. It looks gross, it tastes gross and I can’t even bring myself to SMELL it. But this week, our little Elyla is the side of an avacado and…well…I just keep praying next Tuesday gets here to we get put this week behind us and hopefully move on to [...]
