The June leak of nine allegedly "mastered, finished" tracks from Guns N' Roses' long-delayed "Chinese Democracy" spurred a renewed round of chatter about whether the Axl Rose-led band will finally release the 14-years-in-the-making album.

But some concrete signs are finally emerging that the album's release could be imminent. That's because, according to sources, negotiations are underway for "Chinese Democracy" to come out as an exclusive at one of the big boxes -- either Wal-Mart or Best Buy.

Negotiations are also ongoing to have conventional record company distribution, another source says.

Guns N' Roses is now managed by Irving Azoff's Front Line Management, and Azoff is a well-known proponent of issuing albums exclusively through retailers. He released the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" through Wal-Mart, much to the chagrin of other merchants.

Most recently, it became known that AC/DC's next album will come out exclusively through Wal-Mart. Merchants were particularly incensed that the deal was apparently struck with the blessing of Columbia.

It's unclear who initiated the Guns N' Roses exclusive negotiations -- Front Line or Interscope, the band's label. Representatives at Front Line and Interscope with knowledge of the situation couldn't be reached for comment by deadline. A Wal-Mart representative says the chain couldn't confirm this fall's exclusives. Best Buy representatives couldn't be reached for comment by deadline.

Collin Greenwood

Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood went deaf during the recording of the band's latest album In Rainbows.

Greenwood revealed all in an interview with Word, saying his deafness was due to using the wrong type of headphones in the studio.

"It came back, mostly." Greenwood said of his diminishing hearing. "It doesn't feel like I'm talking to people underwater anymore."

However, the recovery wasn't so plain sailing as Colin revealed: "For a few months afterwards I'd be watching the telly and suddenly hear these high-pitched whistling noises as more and more high frequencies came back."

Lyrics: What I've Done - Linkin Park

In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no alibi
‘Cause I’ve drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies

[Pre-Chorus:]
So let mercy come
And wash away
What I’ve done

[Chorus:]
I'll face myself
To cross out what i’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what i’ve done

Put to rest

What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty

[Pre-Chorus]

[Chorus]

For what I’ve done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m forgiving what I’ve done!!!

[Chorus]

What I’ve done
Forgiving what I’ve done

Radiohead
is well known as one of the world's most important bands of today. While their debut was at the peak, they're road to stardom begun after the success of "OK Computer" - a success that few probably would have predicted when the five of them started playing together in the early 80s after meeting at Abingdon School in Oxford. Radiohead was among the most closely watched bands of the decade, getting some influences on different artists such as Queen, R.E.M., and Miles Davis. They were embraced as saviors of modern guitar rock, only to resurface in 2000 with a new sound heavy with electronics, minimal vocals, and few guitars.

Radiohead have released a total of seven albums in sixteen years. The albums thet've released includes Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Theif and In Rainbows. In Rainbows received positive reviews, among the best of Radiohead's career. Critics praised the album for having a more accessible sound and personal style of lyrics than their past albums. Explaining the reasons behind the album's delivery and success, Jonny Greenwood said, "It was an experiment that felt worth trying... it's fun to make people stop for a few seconds and think about what music is worth." Yorke described the album as Radiohead's attempt to "describe...as coherently and conclusively as possible, what moves us. In Rainbows is...our classic album – our Transformer, our Revolver, our Hunky Dory".

Lyrics: Jigsaw Falling into Place - Radiohead

Just as you take my hand
Just as you write my number down
Just as the drinks arrive
Just as they play your favourite song
As your bad mood disappears
No longer wound up like a spring
Before you've had too much
Come back in focus again

The walls abandon shape
They got a cheshire cat grin
All blurring into one
This place is on a mission
Before the night owl
Before the animal noises
Closed circuit cameras
Before you're comatose

Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the notes
The beat goes round and round
The beat goes round and round
I never really got there
I just pretended that I had

What's the point of instruments
Words are a sawed off shotgun

Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out
Come on and let it out

Before you run away from me
Before you're lost between the notes
Just as you take the mic
Just as you dance, dance, dance

Jigsaw falling into place
There is nothing to explain
Regard each other as you pass
She looks back, you look back
Not just once
Not just twice
Wish away the nightmare
Wish away the nightmare
You've got a light you can feel it on your back
You've got a light you can feel it on your back
Jigsaws falling into places, places

avril, avril lavigne, pregnant, picsAvril Lavigne

Is it true that Avril Lavigne is already pregnant? Rumors have been scattered all over the Internet today that Deryck Whibley was seen shopping some kids stuff on a Robertson Blvd. If this is true then Avril would probably be out in the rock scene for a couple of months. Deryck Whibley is the lead vocals from the punk rock band "Sum 41". Here is some details of this exclusive gossip from TMZ.

Seems like just yesterday that Avril burst onto the scene with the banal tween anthem "Sk8er Boi." Now she might have little sk8er boi or sk8er gurl of her own. TMZ has the speculative story: TMZ spotted Avril Lavigne and hubby rocker Deryck Whibley shopping up a storm on Robertson Blvd. yesterday ... but could it be for a wee Whiblet or Whiblette?

Consider the evidence: The couple dropped around $500 at Lisa Kline Kids, purchasing everything from a cheetah diaper bag to baby AC/DC tees, and, of course, a camo pacifier holder. Sounds a lot like she's preparing for life to get more complicated.

What's more, says a TMZ spy, "She definitely looks like she has a bump." We've contacted her reps, but haven't heard back.

daughtry, rock cd, rock bandDaughtry

Daughtry is an American Music Award-winning and Grammy-nominated rock band from North Carolina, formed by former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry in 2006. Their self-titled debut album was released on November 21, 2006. The disc reached #1 for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks' debut effort, sold more than 3 million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by billboard. Their album is also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. The first single from the album, "It's Not Over", was the eighth most played song across all formats on U.S. radio in 2007, and their second single from the album, "Home", was the tenth most played song in the U.S. of 2007.

Daughtry is the eponymous debut album of the American rock band of the same name, the band formed and fronted by American Idol season five finalist Chris Daughtry. The album is the fastest selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. "Breakdown," as it appears on Daughtry, is actually a rewrite and combination of two songs previously, "Breakdown" and "Conviction," performed by Chris Daughtry's former hard rock/alternative metal band Absent Element. These two songs appeared on the album Uprooted. The first single released from the album is "It's Not Over", and fellow Idol contestant Ace Young, producer Greg Wattenberg, and Course of Nature frontman Mark Wilkerson are credited as co-writers. On December 6, 2007, the song was nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.

Lyrics: Home - Daughtry

I'm staring out into the night,
Trying to hide the pain.
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing.
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain.

So I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old
So I'm going home.
Well I'm going home.

The miles are getting longer, it seems,
The closer I get to you.
I've not always been the best man or friend for you.
But your love, remains true.
And I don't know why.
You always seem to give me another try.

So I'm going home,
To the place where I belong,

And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old.

Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all,
And then some you don't want.
Be careful what you wish for,
'Cause you just might get it all.
You just might get it all, yeah.

So I'm going home,
Back to the place where I belong,
And where your love has always been enough for me.
I'm not running from.
No, I think you got me all wrong.
I don't regret this life I chose for me.
But these places and these faces are getting old.
I said these places and these faces are getting old.
So I'm going home.
I'm going home.

3 Doors Down were originally a trio, consisting of Brad Arnold (vocals, drums), Matt Roberts (Guitar) and Todd Harrell (Bass). The band later acquire Chris Henderson (Guitar) and a studio drummer to give way for Brad and sing live.

The band was formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi. Their hit song "Kryptonite" created a buzz at local radio station WCPR, making them popular and capturing fairly large crowds to their live shows. The band then extended their range beyond Mississippi and they invaded some famous clubs such as New York's CBGB's.

Their gig at CBGB's caught the attention of Republic Records, which gave them their major label debut album, "The Better Life", in early 2000.

The band released "Away From the Sun" in November 2002 and "700 Miles" in November 2003. In early 2005 the band returned with "Seventeen Days" which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went platinum in it's first week of release.

Lyrics: Here without you - 3 Doors Down

A hundred days had made me older
Since the last time that I've saw your pretty face

A thousand lights had made me colder
And I don’t think I can look at this the same

But all the miles that separate
They disappear now when I’m dreaming of your face

(CHORUS)
I’m here without you baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight it’s only you and me

The miles just keep rollin
As the people either way to say hello
And I've heard this life is overrated
But I hope that it gets better as we go

(CHORUS)
I’m here without you baby
But you're still on my lonely mind

I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby
But you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it’s only you and me

Everything I know,
And anywhere I go
It gets hard but it won’t take away my love
And when the last one falls,
And when it’s all said and done
It gets hard but it won’t take away my love

(CHORUS)
I’m here without you baby
But you're still on my lonely mind
I think about you baby
And I dream about you all the time
I’m here without you baby
but you're still with me in my dreams
And tonight girl it’s only you and me

Yeah
Oh Yeah
Ohhhh
Simple Plan

Having finished most touring in support of Still Not Getting Any... in March 2006, the band took some time off and then began work on new material. On July 1, 2007, they hit the studio and they began tracking. They started with drum tracking in Los Angeles after pre-production, then went back to Montreal to finish the rest of the recording process. During September 2007, the band had finished recording and went back to L.A. to mix the album with Chris Lord-Alge. After mixing, the band went to New York to master the album, thus finishing the building of the album. This was announced on October 21.

The first single from the CD, "When I'm Gone", was released on October 29, via iTunes and via lala.com. The "world premiere" of the song was part of a webcast with band members, in which the band answered fan questions. On October 24, Simple Plan had put up a 25 second preview of "When I'm Gone" on their website.

The CD was originally set for release on January 29, 2008. However, on November 29, 2007, the band announced a two weeks' delay due to production difficulties, and the need to re-record some lyrics from the song "Generation."

An album cover was released in early December 2007. Soon afterwards, in his Myspace blog, band frontman Pierre Bouvier responded to fan concerns about the cover, defending the artwork. However, on December 12, the band released a second proposed album cover, and invited fan views by email about each, indicating (despite Bouvier's earlier comments) that they were fine with either cover. On December 14, 2007, the alternative cover depicted above was announced as selected over the original one depicted below.

"Your Love Is a Lie"" was first publicly performed at a taping for YouTube on December 18, 2007. All the songs on the CD, except "Holding On" were played at a small show in Montreal on January 11, 2008.

Simple Plan CD Tracks:

  1. "When I'm Gone" - 3:47
  2. "Take My Hand" - 3:51
  3. "The End" - 3:22

Lyrics: When I'm Gone - Simple Plan

I look around me
But all I seem to see
Is people going nowhere
Expecting sympathy
It’s like we’re going through the motions
Of the scripted destiny
Tell me where’s our inspiration
If life wont wait
I guess it’s up to me

Whoahh
No we’re not gonna waste another moment in this town
Whoahh
We wont come back, the world its calling out
Whoahh
Leave the past in the past gonna find the future
And misery loves company
Well so long
You’ll miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone

Procrastination running circles in my head
While you sit there contemplating you’ll wind up left for dead (left for dead)
Life is what happens
While you’re busy making your excuses
Another day, another casualty
But that won’t happen to me

Whoahh
No we’re not gonna waste another moment in this town
Whoahh
We wont come back, the world its calling out

Whoahh
Leave the past in the past gonna find the future
And misery loves company
Well so long
You’ll miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
When I’m gone

Let’s go…!
Won’t look back
When I say goodbye
We’re gonna leave this world behind me
Gonna take what’s mine tonight
‘cause every wasted day
Becomes a wasted chance
You’re gonna wake up feeling sorry
‘cause life won’t wait
I guess it’s up to you

Whoahh
No we’re not gonna waste another moment in this town
Whoahh
We wont come back, the world its calling out
Whoahh
Leave the past in the past gonna find the future
And misery loves company
Well so long
You’ll miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone
You’re gonna miss me when I’m gone

korn, rock metal, rock 2008, Jonathan DavisKorn

KORN guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer has issued the following update:

"2007 was great for me and Emotional Syphon Recordings [Munky's record label]. We released two kick-ass albums from very different bands, DROID and MONSTER IN THE MACHINE.

"Both albums are special for me.

"I started ESR because I felt like there was a void in the music industry. I aimed to fill that by promoting more great music. I wanted to give these artists a channel to be heard. These records are completely untouched by industry politics and trends. They come from the respective musicians' hearts. They also are the beginning of ESR! I'd been wanting to start a label for a very long time, and now it's up and running! We're on the right track...

"Last year was also fantastic for KORN. We released a great new album and toured the whole world with SLIPKNOT drum legend Joey Jordison behind the kit. I had a great time playing all of those shows and meeting fans at the ESR booth. I'm looking forward to going back out and playing some more killer shows for all of you.

"Last year definitely had some cool highlights, however, 2008 is already shaping up to be even better. KORN is about to embark on a huge tour of Europe and the UK. We've got Ray Luzier of ARMY OF ANYONE filling in on the drums, and we have a lot of surprises planned. We'll be busting out some classic tracks as well as newer stuff from the 'Untitled' record. So if you're in Europe or the UK, don't miss these shows! It's going to be a very memorable run for all of us.

"I'm also very stoked with ESR's progress. We're building the label even more, and both DROID and MONSTER IN THE MACHINE will be on tour all year.

"For those of you that caught DROID on Family Values 2007 or MONSTER IN THE MACHINE out with TEAM SLEEP, you know how killer these bands are live! Do not miss them on tour this year. Also be sure to say 'hi' to the guys after the shows or at their merch booths. ESR is a family, and we consider the fans a big part of that family. We want to meet and talk to all of you! This is going to be a big year for the label and both of these kick-ass bands!

"Before I hit the road, I wanted to let everyone in on a little secret. I have a big surprise announcement coming very, very soon. It's something I'm extremely passionate about, and I have a feeling everyone is going to love it. Be sure to keep checking this page, because this announcement is going to be big…"

Avril Lavigne

TORONTO - Punky pop star Avril Lavigne has reached a settlement in a lawsuit that accused her of plagiarizing her summer hit single, "Girlfriend."

As a result, claims that '70s rock band the Rubinoos were ripped off have been dropped. Songwriters Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer charged that Lavigne's boppy track sounded suspiciously like their 1979 single, "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend."

Rubinoos lawyer Nicholas Carlin says a confidential settlement has been reached but could not comment further. A spokesperson for Lavigne could not immediately be reached.

A settlement does not necessarily indicate an admission of copyright infringement.

Lavigne has said she'd never heard the Rubinoos song, while her manager, Terry McBride, has said he consulted a musicologist who found no similarities between the songs.

Still, McBride admitted he would consider settling the matter out of court to avoid a costly legal battle.

Radiohead
Radiohead made their expected arrival at No. 1 on the new U.K. album chart yesterday (Jan. 6) with "In Rainbows," released in the U.K. and internationally Dec. 31 on XL Recordings. "X-Factor" winner Leon Jackson snagged a third week at the top of the singles chart with "When You Believe" (Syco Music/Sony BMG).

Radiohead's victory gives them their fifth U.K. No. 1 album, a sequence that began with 1997's "OK Computer" and also includes "Kid A" (2000), "Amnesiac" (2001) and 2003's "Hail to the Thief." A single from the new set, "Jigsaw Falling Into Place," is commercially released in Britain on Jan. 14.

"In Rainbows" thus ended Leona Lewis' seven-week run at the top with "Spirit" (Syco Music/Sony BMG). The English singer's debut album fell to No. 3, as Take That's "Beautiful World" (Polydor) moved back 3-2 in its 50th chart week.

Mika's "Life in Cartoon Motion" (Casablanca/Universal Island), which is just behind them with 48 weeks on the survey, rebounded 9-4. Mika also has three singles in the top 40, after new release "Relax Take It Easy" climbed 49-20, breakthrough hit "Grace Kelly" jumped 48-35 and "Happy Ending" dipped 32-39.

Scottish singer/songwriter Amy Macdonald's resurgence with "This Is the Life" (Vertigo) continued as her first album jumped 18-6. Another debut success, the Hoosiers' "The Trick to Life" (RCA) improved 11-8 and Timbaland's "Shock Value" (Interscope) jumped 19-10.

Below Jackson on the singles chart, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" (Interscope) by Soulja Boy climbed 3-2, trading places with Lewis' "Bleeding Love." Nickelback's "Rockstar" (Roadrunner) made the top 10 for the first time in its 12th chart week, rising 15-8, as Alicia Keys' "No One" (J) moved back 11-10 and Rihanna's "Don't Stop The Music" (Def Jam) climbed 16-12. Basshunter, the recording name of Swedish artist/DJ Jonas Altberg, debuted at No. 14 with "Now You're Gone" (Hard2beat).

Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black" (Universal Island), which topped Billboard's European Top 100 Albums for the first time on the final chart of 2007, retains its lead on the first survey published in 2008. "Apologize" (Mosley/Blackground/Interscope) by Timbaland presents OneRepublic is in a seventh week at the helm on Eurochart Top 100 Singles.
The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus started out as a local band in Middleburg, Florida, which is south of Jacksonville, according to The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus' official website. The name, "Red Jumpsuit Apparatus", was chosen by placing random words on a wall, and then blindfolding one of the members and choosing three words.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus released their demo, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in 2005. They then released a demo tour EP with "Ass Shaker", "Justify" and "Face Down" demo versions. Later in 2006 they released their first LP, Don't You Fake It with the singles "Face Down", "False Pretense", "Your Guardian Angel", and "Damn Regret", which was certified gold on November 27, 2006 by the RIAA for sales shipments exceeding 500,000 copies. In the summer of 2006 lead singer Ronnie Winter married his long time girlfriend Staci in Las Vegas while the band was on the Vans Warped Tour. Staci now sells merchandise for the band on tour. As of February 2007, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus took part in the US Take Action! Tour organized for the prevention of youth suicide, along with bands such as My Chemical Romance and Rise Against. Their song "In Fate's Hands" is featured in the video game Madden NFL 07. The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus "Don't You Fake It" Deluxe Edition (CD/DVD) was released on April 3, 2007. The CD features the album and two exclusive songs, an acoustic version of "Face Down" and a never released out of Australia bonus track "Disconnected".

In a 2007 interview with the Florida Entertainment Scene, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus teamed up with Virgin Records to raise funds for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. They also headlined the Take Action! Tour which sponsors awareness against teen suicide and against animal cruelty.

In August of 2007, bassist Joey Westwood's girlfriend gave birth to a daughter, Ella. In November of 2007 lead singer Ronnie Winter and his wife Staci along with rhythm guitarist Duke Kitchens and his girlfriend moved into a house together in Middleburg, Florida. In the house they created a Jam room in order to work on the band's second album.

Don't You Fake It is the debut album by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, released on July 18, 2006 and re-released on March 20, 2007.

Lyrics: Your Guardian Angel - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

When I see your smile,
Tears run down my face.
I can't replace.
And now that I'm strong, I have figured out,
How this world turns cold and it breaks through my soul.
And I know I'll find deep inside me,
I can be the one.

I will never let you fall. (let you fall.)
I'll stand up with you forever.
I'll be there for you through it all. (through it all.)
Even if saving you sends me to heaven.

It's okay.
It's okay.
It's okay-e-ay-e-ay.

Seasons are changing,
And waves are crashing,
And stars are falling all for us.
Days grow longer and nights grow shorter,
I can show you I'll be the one

I will never let you fall. (let you fall.)
I'll stand up with you forever.
I'll be there for you through it all. (through it all.)
Even if saving you sends me to heaven.

'Cause you're my, you're my, my-e-y-e-y,
My true love, my whole heart.
Please don't throw that away.
'Cause I'm here... for you!
Please don't walk away and,
Please tell me you'll stay... here!

Whoa-oh!
Stay!
Whoa-oh!

Use me as you will!
Pull my strings just for a thrill!
And I know I'll be okay,
Though my skies are turning gray! (gray! gray!)

I will never let you fall!
I'll stand up with you forever!
I'll be there for you through it all,
Even if saving you sends me to heaven!

I will never let you fall!
I'll stand up with you forever!
I'll be there for you through it all,
Even if saving you sends me to heaven! (fade out)

My Chemical Romance

The future of My Chemical Romance has been brought into question after a cryptic image appeared on one of the band’s websites.

The image, which displays a medical flatline accompanied by the message ‘00 BPM’, can be seen on the band’s Black Parade website.

Fans have begun to speculate whether The Black Parade era – which accompanied the band’s same-titled album and tour - has now ended.

Does this means that The Black Parade era is already over. Many fans are still wondering on the true meaning of this flat lines in their Black Parade Website.

As previously reported, the band are already understood to be recording to the follow-up to the LP, which is expected in 2008.

Let's just wait and see what the future brings for Gerard Way and the rest of the band.

Hawthorne Heights' Casey Calvert

Autopsy lists 'acute combined effects' of prescription medications and unspecified opiate, possibly Vicodin; expert says, 'This kind of death is one in several million.'

Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert died due to the "acute combined effects of opiate, citalopram and clonazepam intoxication," according to the results of an autopsy released Monday (December 17) by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Washington, D.C. He was found dead in the band's tour bus outside the 9:30 club in the city on November 24.

The autopsy listed Calvert's death as accidental, though a spokesperson for the chief medical examiner added that it was brought on due to "substance abuse." The opiate referred to in the report wasn't specified, but often, any drug that acts on cell receptors — including strong prescription pain relievers such as fentanyl or oxycodone — are referred to as "opiates" or sometimes "opoids." Both citalopram (also known by the brand name Celexa) and clonazepam (also known by the brand names Klonopin and Rivotril) are prescription drugs, the former an antidepressant and the latter used to treat seizure disorders and panic attacks.

A spokesperson for the medical examiner's office declined MTV News' request to elaborate on the results of the autopsy.

When MTV News spoke to Calvert's wife, Ashley, last month, she mentioned that he had suffered from depression but emphasized that "it was under control ... he was on medication for it, [but] nothing that he would abuse or anything like that."

"Something could've been wrong, he could've been in pain and he didn't want to tell anybody," she continued. "He always seemed completely healthy. I've known him for five years, and there's no way he was doing any kind of drug that would be considered illegal that a person could overdose on. I know my husband, and my husband wouldn't do that. He just wouldn't."

In the same interview, Calvert's bandmates stressed that the guitarist didn't abuse drugs at all, with frontman JT Woodruff saying, "We're in a rock band, and there's this stigma that comes along with it, and we don't do any of that stuff. If you asked anybody who's met us or toured with us, they'll tell you they've never seen us do that stuff. We concentrate on playing shows and having a good time, and so did Casey."

And on Monday, as news of the autopsy began to spread, drummer Eron Bucciarelli issued a statement reiterating that stance but acknowledging that Calvert had long battled depression, and that they had suspected that their guitarist had died from complications due to an "ever-changing array of medicines to get better."

"From the time of the incident, we suspected a possible drug interaction as the cause," the statement reads in part. "Casey wrestled with depression for as long as we knew him. He saw numerous doctors and took an ever-changing array of medicines to get better. He finally had his depression under control."

The statement also took issue with the medical examiner's spokesperson's use of the phrase "substance abuse," and the negative connotations it can carry.

"According to the toxicology report, the cause of death was due to a fatal interaction between depression meds, anxiety meds and an opiate ... Opiates being mentioned along with the term 'substance abuse,' coupled with 'rock star' stereotypes immediately conjure up images of hard drug use and addiction, which simply couldn't be further from the truth in Casey's instance," the statement continues. "What the toxicology report doesn't show is that prior to us leaving for tour, Casey had a root canal and was prescribed Vicodin for the pain. Once again, Casey was not involved in anything illegal, nor was he a substance abuser."

It's not immediately clear why Calvert was prescribed Vicodin, given that he was already taking clonazepam. Mixing Vicodin — an opiate — with clonazepam is "a known risk," though most doctors would not be aware of a patient taking any opiate unless that patient made it abundantly clear, according to Dr. John Mendelson, a pharmacologist at the California Pacific Medical Center Research Institute.

"Most doctors will not get a urine toxicology as part their routine diagnosis, which is how you detect opiates," he told MTV News on Monday. "If you come to me and say you're anxious and depressed, we give you clonazepam and would caution [you] about doing some opiates. Over the years, there have been several overdoses caused by mixing an opiate with a drug of the benzodiazepine class, which clonazepam is. The mixture synergistically impairs your ability to manage your airway.

"It sounds to me like he took a few extra Vicodins on top of his clonazepam and lost the ability to manage his airway, perhaps choked on his own secretions," Mendelson continued. "And it's a risk to combine substantial opiate doses with benzo doses, but it's also a rare one. To be honest, it just may [have been] bad luck. ... It's exceedingly rare that 26-years-olds die of anything medical. This kind of death is one in several million."

Stadium Arcadium is the ninth studio album by alternative rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released on May 5, 2006 on Warner Bros. Records. It was a success for the band, selling 442,000 copies in the U.S. in its debut week and debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200. Singles from the album included "Dani California," "Snow ((Hey Oh))," and "Tell Me Baby." The album is notable for being the band's first studio double album; according to frontman Anthony Kiedis, Stadium Arcadium was originally scheduled to be a trilogy of albums each released six months apart, but was eventually condensed into a double album.
Stadium Arcadium was critically acclaimed both for showcasing a more mature lyrical style from that of the Chili Peppers' earlier albums, and for integrating musical styles from all aspects of the band's career. The album gained the band seven Grammy Awards in 2007: the most nominations that the band had garnered in their 24-year career. Kiedis attributed the album's success to less abrasive dynamics within the band, saying that the band's "chemistry when it comes to writing is better than ever. There was always a struggle to dominate lyrically. But we are now confident enough in who we are, so everybody feels more comfortable contributing more and more valuable, quality stuff."

Lyrics: Hump De Bump - Red Hot Chili Peppers

40 detectives this week

40 detectives strong
Takin' a stroll down Love Street
Strollin' is that so wrong
Can I get my co-defendant

Hump de bump doop bodu
Bump de hump doop bop
Hump de bump doop bodu

Bump de hump doop bodu
Hump de bump doop bop
Bump de hump doop bodu

Bump bump

Listen to me what I said
Try to get it through your head
A little bit of circumstance
A chance to make out

Livin' in a citadel
It's hard enough to be yourself
Waiting for the bell to toll
And I am wide awake now

Workin' the beat as we speak
Working the belle du monde
Believe in the havoc we wreak
Believin', is that so wrong
Can I get my co-dependent

Must have been a hundred miles
Any of a hundred styles
It's not about the smile you wear
But the way we make out

When I was an all aloner
Nothin' but a two-beach comber
Anybody seen the sky?
I'm wide awake now

The wait is over for Led Zeppelin's reunion tonight (Dec. 10) in London to headline a tribute concert to the late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, in what has been billed as one of the most anticipated performances in years.

The scene at London's O2 Arena is already frenzied, with a 500-strong line for merchandise and huge waits at the will call windows. At a soundcheck on Sunday, select lucky fans were allowed to watch Zeppelin trying out such songs as "Good Times, Bad Times," "No Quarter" and "In My Time of Dying."

The three surviving members of the hugely successful 1970s group have rarely performed together since the 1980 the death of drummer John Bonham following a drinking binge.

By their own admission, each reunion has been a flop, so anticipation is high that the 90-minute set will get somewhere close to the heyday when they were considered by many to be the world's biggest rock band.

Singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will be joined by Bonham's son Jason on the drums for the one-off comeback, although there has been fevered speculation that the gig may be followed by further live performances.

"Let's just do the O2 and we'll see what happens from there," 63-year-old Page told Reuters in a recent interview. "I haven't got a crystal ball here and nor have you."

When organizers announced the concert, also featuring the Who's Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman and the Rhythm Kings and Paul Rodgers, among others, the Web site selling tickets crashed as more than a million people rushed for about 20,000 seats.

One man from Scotland entered a charity auction last month and paid $170,000 for a pair of tickets to the show. Fans from around the world selected by lottery began arriving in London several days ago to collect their tickets.

"We turned up on Saturday, but we were told to come back the next day as we would still be at the front of the queue," said David Beesmer, 42, a businessman from New York who spent more than $7,000 on his ticket and trip.

Net profits from the concert will go to the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund, which provides scholarships for gifted children.

All the Right Reasons is the fifth studio album by the Canadian Rock band Nickelback, released on October 4, 2005. It is the first album without the original drummer Ryan Vikedal and the first to feature his replacement, Daniel Adair. All lyrics were written by Chad Kroeger and all the music is by Nickelback, except for the bonus track "We Will Rock You".

The album was the third straight No. 1 album for the band in their native Canada selling more than 60,000 copies in its first week topping their previous albums Silver Side Up and The Long Road which also hit No. 1, "Silver Side Up" opened with 43,000 copies and "The Long Road" with 45,000 copies. In the United States the album to date has sold over 6.2 million copies and was found again inside the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in its 99th, 100th, 101st, and 102nd weeks on the chart. The album had never been below #30 on the Billboard 200 in 110 weeks, making Nickelback the first act to have an album in the top thirty of the Billboard 200 for its first 100 weeks since Shania Twain's album, "Come on Over" stayed in the top thirty for 123 consecutive weeks following its release. Billboard Magazine called the album "the biggest rock album of the century so far."

In addition the album has spawned five top twenty Hot 100 singles in the U.S.,("Photograph", "Savin' Me", "Far Away", "If Everyone Cared", and "Rockstar"), making it one of only a handful of rock albums to ever produce five or more top twenty U.S. hits. "Photograph", "Far Away", and "Rockstar" were all top ten singles on the Hot 100, making Nickelback the first rock band of the 2000's to have three top ten hits from the same album.

The album was certified 7x Platinum in the U.S. in mid October 2007, surpassing the 6x Platinum certification of Silver Side Up.

Lyrics: Rockstar - Nickelback

I'm through with standin' in line
To clubs I'll never get in
It's like the bottom of the ninth
And I'm never gonna win
This life hasn't turned out
Quite the way I want it to be
(Tell me what you want)

I want a brand new house
On an episode of Cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough
For ten plus me
(Yeah, so tell what you need)

I'll need a.. a credit card that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet
--(Been there done that)--

I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and
James Dean is fine for me
(So how you gonna do it?)

I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[CHORUS]
'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blonde hair
And well...

Hey, hey, I wanna be a rockstar
Hey, hey, I wanna be a rockstar

I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels
Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free
(I'll have the quesadilla, ha ha)

I think I'm gonna dress my ass
With the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to
Blow my money for me
[Rockstar lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

(So how you gonna do it?)

I'm gonna trade this life
For fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair
And change my name

'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars and
Live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blonde hair
And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary of
Today's who's who
They'll get you anything
with that evil smile
Everybody's got a
Drug dealer on speed dial, well
Hey, hey, I wanna be a rockstar

I'm gonna sing those songs
That offend the censors
Gonna pop my pills
From a Pez dispenser

Get washed-up singers writing all my songs
Lip synch 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong

Well we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars

Blink-182 is a self titled or untitled album, by the band of the same name and their last full-length record before an ongoing hiatus. Recorded under the working title of Use Your Erection I & II (a pun of Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion albums), the album was released through Geffen Records on November 18, 2003. The album includes guest vocals by The Cure's Robert Smith on the track "All of This". At almost 50 minutes long, it is Blink-182's longest studio album. It is said that this album represents a more "mature" Blink than been having seen in the past, such as not having the album contain any toilet humor or joke songs. It was somewhat of a departure from their previous musical atmosphere, the album was described as a "self-meditation on romantic decay."[citation needed] Mark Hoppus, the bassist for the band said in an interview with MTV Album Launch, that the desired effect of the album was for people to listen to it and say "Wait a minute...that's Blink-182?" The band infused experimentalist elements into their usual pop punk sound, inspired by lifestyle changes (Mark, Tom and Travis all became fathers before the album was released) and side-projects (Box Car Racer and Transplants). Despite having very high airplay from radio and music video channels, the album sold 313,000 copies in its first week debuting #3 on the charts in the United States, which was less than their previous album Take off Your Pants and Jacket, which sold more than 350,000 copies in its first week and topped the charts. It was also met with mixed reviews from critics and fans.

Lyrics: I Miss You - Blink-182

(I miss you miss you)
Hello there the angel from my nightmare
The shadow in backround of the morgue
The unsespecting victim of darkness in the valley
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want
Where you can always find me
And we'll have Halloween on Christmas
And in the night we'll wish this never ends
We'll wish this never end

Where are you and I'm so sorry
I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight
I need somebody and always
This sick strange darkness comes creeping on so haunting everytime
And as I stared I counted the webs from all the spiders
catching things and eating their insides
Like indecision to call you
And hear your voice of treason
Will you come home and stop this pain tonight
stop this pain tonight

Don't waste your time on me your already the voice inside my head(6x)

I miss you miss you(6x)

The Foo Fighters -- who picked up five Grammy nominations this morning (12/6)--have added new dates to both of their early 2008 adventures, a two-month North American tour followed by a run through Australia and New Zealand.

The North American trek keeps its previously announced kick-off date--Jan. 16 in Sunrise, FL--with the outing now stretched to 28 stops after the addition of shows in Reno, NV (2/1); Oakland, CA (2/2); Council Bluffs, IA (2/28); and Glendale, AZ (3/1). Dates are provided below.

The band also added several new appearances to its upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand, which launches in April following the domestic outing. The complete overseas itinerary can be found at the band's website.

The group is supporting its sixth studio effort, "Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 in September. The album, which reunites the band with Gil Norton, who produced the group's 1997 breakthrough, "The Colour and the Shape," nabbed five Grammy nominations, including one for Album of the Year.

Lead single "The Pretender"--which has spent 16 weeks in the No. 1 slot on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart--grabbed nominations for Best Hard Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.

"Echoes" follows the band's 2005 platinum-selling double-album, "In Your Honor," which spawned the No. 1 mainstream- and modern-rock hit "Best of You" and led to the band's biggest-selling tour to date, according to a press release.

All Killer No Filler is the second album by Sum 41, released on May 8, 2001 (see 2001 in music). The album was eventually certified platinum, selling over 1 million copies. The album features lyrics with various subjects such as society, laziness, self-indulgence, relationships etc. On an episode of MTV Cribs featuring drummer Steve Jocz's house, frontman and guitarist Deryck Whibley said that the majority of the songs for All Killer No Filler were written in Steve's basement. The title may be a reference to the Jerry Lee Lewis album All Killer, No Filler: The Anthology.

As of 2006 the album has sold 1 million copies in USA and is 3x platinum in Canada, making it Sum 41's best selling album to date.

This is the second time "Summer" appeared on a Sum 41 album, the first being Half Hour of Power. The band planned to put the song on each of their albums as a joke, but scrapped the plan after All Killer No Filler.

You said it wasnt good enough.
But still were trying one more time.

Maybe were just trying to hard.
When really its closer than it is too far

Cause Im in too deep, and Im trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Cause Im in too deep, and Im trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Instead of going under.

Seems like each time
Im with you I loose my mind,
Because Im bending over backwards to relate.
Its one thing to complain
But when youre driving me insane
Well then I think its time that we took a break.

Maybe were just trying to hard.
When really its closer than it is too far

Cause Im in too deep, and Im trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Cause Im in too deep, and Im trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Instead of going under.
Instead of going under.

I cant sit back and wonder why.
It took so long for this to die.
And I hate it when you fake it.
You cant hide it you might as well embrace it.
So believe me its not easy.
It seems that somethings telling me,

Cause Im in too deep, and Im trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Cause Im in too deep, and Im trying to keep,
Up above in my head, instead of going under.
Instead of going under.
Instead of going under.

Instead of going under again.
Instead of going under.
Instead of going under again.
Instead of going under again.

The British alternative rock band's first confirmed concert for the year will take place June 7 at the Malahide in Dublin. The tour, announced today on Radiohead's official Web site, will roll on to France, Spain, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium and Germany.

Billboard broke the news in October that Radiohead would hit the road for an international tour in 2008 in support of its new release, "In Rainbows." Although today's news confirms only European dates, expect news in the coming weeks for appearances in the United States and elsewhere.

"America and other countries will be announced soon," Radiohead's manager Bryce Edge of Courtyard Management, tells Billboard, "but the details haven't been finalized yet. "

Edge wouldn't rule out plans for dates in far-flung markets such as Asia, Australia or even South Africa. "It
