Yo All....Went to the 24K Club pushes on Rich Hill Saturday where I got the big stinky skunkaroo...So this morning I headed way back into the Vultures to see what I might scare up out of one of my old patches there...Today it was cool enough to switch from my summer white shirt and hat to my fall and winter camo outfit, figuring I could sneak up on those nuggets that were used to the white riggin'....One patch in particular that I've hit very hard this summer with good results, totalling nearly 5 ounces, just keeps calling me back, despite the fact I can't even find a target of any kind there for the past near two months...But today I decided to strap on my little 9x5 Nugget finder coil on to my old SD2100 baboo and poke back into bushes and such...I hunted hard for a couple of hours with not a single target...Then I decided to go to the far extreme of the patch where the ground is solid hot basalt rock that really sounds off, especially on a mono coil...In June or July, I forget which, I scored a solid half ounce slug down in that basalt, which still has me puzzled...It was way up out of the wash and had nothing around it but gray lava looking basalt...So today, I went straight to the spot I found that half ouncer and started working out from that dig spot...Six feet from that spot there was a cholla growing up among some other brush and greasewood...I jammed my little coil back in behind the cholla and, damn, if ol' baboo didn't scream like I'd pinched it's titty...I dug down about 8 to 10 inches, pulling big chunks of basalt bedrock apart, and soon the target was out of the hole...Hot damn... A 6.3 gram slug (exactly 4.0 DWT) that just proves the old saw, "Ya just can't clean out a patch completely, ever." So, anyhow, here's my usual overboard playing with my camera on this beauty...It'll make a nice pendant, don't you think? ....Cheers, Yer Unc in the Dubyah

About 3 weeks ago our female had one single puppy. We never knew she was even prego - never really gained any weight. The good news is the pup is very healthy and active. Hell we paid for her to be fixed and well I guess we got short changed on that deal. But that's OK this little guy is a nice little addition to our family - back to 3 dogs laugh.gif

The father is a purebred Siberian Husky and the mom a wolf hybrid/husky/something else I can't think of.

We made a nice little "cave" in the house with old pillows and blankets for them to feel safe in.

I pretty sure the father will become a Back Pack dog this year too and be joining our prospecting adventures. At least that's my plan.

Adam, Frank, Scott and I got out several days ago and hit an area and I was able to score the nice .55 gram nugget you see below. At least I think this is the right nug hmmmmmm.gif I set it down on its own but then put it in a poke with 3 others similar sized doh1.gif Its was beautiful day and we had a great time biggrin.gif Also had a weird experience with Adam and I being in the middle of two parties shooting 2guns.gif luckily there were not shooting at us.

Frank and Scott had headed back to the vehicles and Adam and I were about an hour behind with at least a mile hike in front of us. Scott and Frank made a marker in the wash so we know where they were headed. We stopped by another spot and let out a yell "YO!" and fired off a round in a safe direction but there was no reply. As we kept going about 15 mins later we heard a gun shot in front of us, then two behind us. So I fired one off in a safe direction. And then there were a few more from both directions. We just kept on hiking and close to the vehicles Frank was on his quad and waving from the road with a smile. Turns out the guys behind us were just out shooting and Frank thought it was us. Then those guys drove over and checked out him and Scott and then went back to shooting.

Today we went out the the LSD to a spot where I have found a lot of gold. I've also been there with several others, Laszlo, Adam, Frank, Reno Chris, Kevin Hoagland, and Buckeye Steve. Found a few 10+ grammers there and Laszlo, Ted and I picked up a nice amount of nuggets from the general area and Adam scored one too.

Knowing the wash has been hit more times than Heinz has pickles I decided to hunt the hills. Only 5 minutes after walking away from my truck and hitting the first ridge where the trail started I scored the specie below icon_mrgreen.gif A real screamer Various_Artists-walkman.gif It was mostly exposed just laying on the ground. Must have walked by it 50 times on the trail to the patch ohmy.gif It only has a little visible gold on it below the dime as you see but it extremely heavy for its weight. How many times must I learn this same lesson doh1.gif laugh.gif If I had to venture a guess I'd say there are 4 - 6 ounces of gold locked up in it. To crush, cut or acid bath, that is the question laugh.gif Being a somewhat bulky, large and very heavy piece I hiked it back to the truck and took a picture and just tossed it below the rear axle. No one was around and it was not just going to walk off on its own. Plus if someone was watching and saw you lock up a big chuck that's just a dead give away. Some people are very paranoid but I'm not one of them. Its good to keep secrets but not to go nuts. Yes I picked it up before I left woohoo.gif My brother in law is going to use it tonight as a "conversation piece" at his dinner party and after that we might take it down and try to have it cut into slabs next week.

Sometimes even a blind hog get lucky and finds an ear of corn wink.gif
