Well to update anyone on my last problem i thought the 98 900rr came with a 4.9 gallon tank, I ran out of gas in the middle of no where with 160 miles on 3 gallons, so I guess that solves that mystery. On to the new one. I've been told that when you hear popping and crackling out of you're exhaust on decel that your bike may be running lean. I have a D and D on my bike but i'm not sure if it is jetted. After hard acceleration through a few gears, if i let off the gas for a second then give it a little bit more it really sputters hard before picking back up again. I am wondering if this is a jetting problem, or if i'm just emptying out the bowls when i accelerate hard like that. I hear the popping and crackling out of my can when i decel, but after a 1000 miles on new plugs they still look perfect with no signs of any sort of pre-detenation or carbon fouling. Any help is apprcieated.

I'm a difficult time finding a damper for my '03 rc51. . . Just curious what everyone else's setup is, and wondering if there is a way to use an aluminum Arrow damper on anything but the SP1? (I have one for an SP1 and was hoping there was an easy way to mount it on an SP2).. model# 11003DAA Woody

Anyone got the Gilles Tooling X-Treme levers? Yeah, those really expensive ones. If so, how are they working out? The shape is pretty radical...wondering how they feel in people's hands..

So I wrecked my 954 a few weeks ago, and I'm buying it back from insurance. I'm keeping the brand new tires, and the Scotts, but everything else is up for grabs. Motor has 18k miles on it and ran great. Didn't burn any significant amount of oil, has had synthetic in it as long as I've owned it, and I know the previous owner did the same. Prices: Engine including wiring harness etc. $1500 Sargent seats, front and rear: $250 Erion slip on, with a small dent on the underside, but can only see it if you're under the bike: $200 Hotbodies undertail: $100 Renthal 520 chain, new stock front and +3 rear sprocket: $175 (about 30 miles on this) If you're looking for anything else, let me know and I'll let you know if I have it and it's not damaged. All prices are obo.

Hiya All, _*RE:Brake Caliper Question*_ Man, I have opened up a can of worms here! One of the front left brake pads is flopping around in the caliper for some reason. There is definate movment of the pad, going up and down. Thats how I spotted the offending pad. Below are my checks so far. What Do I do next guys??!?! Hope you can advise! Cheers Martin ################################ _*The Problem:*_ It is the Front left caliper. The "In Side" Pad is moving about - all the other Pads are stuck firmly in place. OK, the pad moves up and down. This freeplay is alot more obvious than any "side to side" Movement. Is the "Up and down" movement suppose to be allowed in a caliper?!?!?! All the other 5 pads are stuck fast in position. _*My Checks so far:*_ (1) When I pull the Bake Lever, the movement on the Floppy Pad goes. Ie the pad is now gripped onto the Caliper. The Brake piston itself appears to be moving ok. (2) When I let go of the Brake lever, the Brake pad floppyness comes back again. Ie. the piston appears to be moving ok. (3) On the Offending Caliper, the "Retaining Sprung plate" is much softer than on the Other Front Caliper. I can bend the plate back a bit, away from the pads etc. Whereas the other caliper's is firmly stuck into place. There is definate movent in the pad up and down. Thats how I spotted the offending pad. What Do I do next guys? Hope you can advise! Cheers Martin Image: http://www.gbbikers.co.uk/gbb/Themes/default/images/icons/modify_inline.gif

I had the absoloute stupidest off this morning on my way to work. I was not aware that the local municipality had repainted all the road markings around town. Whilst pulling away from a traffic light and turning left the back wheel spun up on a pedestrian crossing and the bike highsided me at 15km/h. I felt so stupid because I ride the same road to work every day, come rain or shine and I did absoloutely nothing different today, but yet my bike is now damaged. Damn, I feel that the council should reimburse me for the damages because the paint they use is obviously not bike friendly.

Has anyone used the “automatic reset mode” on the multi function display for Trip A? It basically resets Trip A and the average fuel consumption back to zero when you fill up. This function is deactivated as standard – you have to go in and activate it in the multi function display. I’ve activated it on mine but Trip A refuses to zero itself when I fill up. If I run it until the fuel light comes on and then fill up it works and Trip A resets to zero but I’m sure it should work every time I fill up. Am I being dumb and reading the handbook wrong? (I think this only applies to European bikes?) Anyone had the same problem?

Hiya All, RE:New brake pads - suggestions for a CBR400? I mainly do welsh twisties, but also do a little commuting into work as well. (One of the front left brake pads is flopping around in the caliper for some reason. I'm going to take apart and take a look this weekend. Will replace all the front pads if there is a problem, and just need your advise on best sets to buy) Hope you can advise Cheers Martin

A little help if possible from someone who has fitted these to a CBR1000RR I have fitted the parts and have started to set up the bars but it appears that the clutch pipe is a little short. When you move the bike to full lock it is starting to stretch the hose slightly which I dont like. I haver tried moving the bar positon but still not very good Has any one else found this and if so what did you do to remedy the problem. thanks Monty

Anybody got experiance with D/Bubble ? I am 6ft 2 in. and find the stock screen great with clean airflow but cannot get low enough ( have long back ). The wind hits my lower chest. Would like a D/Bubble for touring but want to avoid buffeting around helmet. Skidmark have launched an 08 Blade screen that looks high in comparison to the stock Any feedback appreciated aardbark1614
