SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: DJ's is a friendly bagel shop in Fountain Hills, Arizona, just East of Phoenix and Scottsdale. If you are staying in town this is a great option for a quick breakfast. It is conveniently located at the corner of Fountain Hills Boulevard and Palisades Boulevard. These are major thoroughfares in the city and finding them is not an issue. The storefront is in a mall that houses a supermarket, various specialty shops and several fast food restaurants. Parking is not a problem at all as there are spots all around. I visited DJ's Bagel Cafe on a sleepy Tuesday morning in December.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: South Bay area of Los Angeles has a sizable Japanese community. Several large Japanese supermarkets serve the area and I love shopping at all of them. On many occasions I have bought excellent meat products, produce, great sushi fish, fresh fish for grilling and what not. I always but a new (to me) purely Japanese item to try out. Makes each visit interesting. My most recent visit was to the Marukai Pacific Market in Gardena, California. I learned that they have a Papa Beard's location and that was reason enough to go.
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: It was barely mid-day by now and we had already seen so much. Our ride on the Number 11 bus had introduced us to some of the city's main sights from the comfort of the upper level of a double-decker bus. And our subsequent walking tour had taken us past Buckingham Palace, Whitehall and the Houses of Parliament where we listened to Big Ben ringing in the noon hour.

But our whirlwind London sightseeing adventure was to continue. To get an even better feel for the city we were planning to go on a sightseeing tour with Thames River Cruises that departed from Westminster Pier. To me a sightseeing trip on the Thames River was just an absolute must for a stay in London. Soon the voice of our tour guide came on the speaker system, and he entertained us with bits of knowledge about London and with his dry humour.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Roaring Fork appeared in just about every online forum that presented restaurants in the Scottsdale area. It was reviewed as one of the best restaurants in the city. That grabbed our attention and we decided to go there and check it out for ourselves. We made reservations for a mid week dinner just one day in advance. Roaring Fork location was not hard to find. From Scottsdale Road we turned on to Chaparral Road and followed the signs. On the bottom floor of a large modern office building we noticed the entrance and the sign. The parking lot was large and there were plenty of free spots to accommodate quite a few vehicles.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: We spent the day on the West side (of Los Angeles) running errands and at lunch time needed some rest and nourishment. A sushi buffet meal suddenly appealed to us after spotting Todai. The decision was quickly made and we headed to its entrance. Last time I visited a Todai restaurant was years ago and I remembered it being a solid place for lunch and that we always ended up eating too much. We would try to to control ourselves this time around. Todai's slogan on their web site is "International Sushi and Seafood Buffet Center" and that is a very good description that sums it up really well.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Yellow Vase is a newcomer to the South Redondo dining scene. I walked by it a few weeks ago and it appeared really nice from the outside. I checked out the inside of the establishment as well and can attest to its pleasant visual appeal. Yellow Vase is both a cozy cute French cafe and a flower shop ... Fast forward to January 1st. On this first day of 2009 we visited it for breakfast. We called in advance to learn if they are open on New Year's Day (yes) and if they take reservations (no). Streets were almost empty around ten in the morning. Everyone must have still been sleeping and recovering from their wild parties. We found parking on Catalina Avenue at one of the parking meters. The dominant color of the cafe is yellow (of course) and it does make it stand out from the surrounding businesses.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: The New Year 2009 is starting and we wish everyone happy travels and many fun and interesting experiences throughout the world. To start the year off in the right direction, the Aquarium of the Pacific is offering extended hours and special ticket pricing for the first several days of the new year. Tickets will be only ten dollars through January 4th, 2009 from five until nine in the evening. I think I will take them up on that offer. More information below ...
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: The Eastern Cape is the second largest province in South Africa. The landscape ranges from the dry desolate Great Karoo to the steamy forests of the Wild Coast and the Keiskamma Valley. The area also embraces the fertile Langkloof, renowned for its rich apple harvests, and is cradled by the mountainous southern Drakensberg.
The shoreline of this province extends from the Umtamvuna River in KwaZulu-Natal, to the Storms River mouth on the scenic Garden Route, in the west, and stretching inland, to the north, bordering on Lesotho. Today, the Eastern Cape incorporates the previously independent 'homelands' of the Ciskei and Transkei. Despite its colonial past, the Eastern Cape remains the home of the Xhosa-speaking people of South Africa. With its almost seven million people, the Eastern Cape has the third-largest provincial population, living on about 169 600 km2 of land.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: The concierge at our hotel near Fountain Hills recommended Fireside Grill as a casual dining destination with good food and solid prices. It was located near the Fountain Hills commercial district and would offer us the opportunity to walk around and explore this town. We were provided directions and were informed that the restaurant is inside the Holiday Inn hotel right on the lake. It was a Tuesday evening and there was not much traffic in town. Without any problems we spotted the Holiday Inn and parked in the front parking lot.

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: We spent a night in Tarrytown, just North of New York City to get some rest on our way to upstate New York. A family member chose the Doubletree Hotel as our lodging location. The hotel itself was quite nice and served its purpose. In the morning we opted not to eat breakfast at their restaurant because it seemed a bit overpriced. On this chilly and snowy morning I woke early to purchase some items at a nearby grocery store and randomly ran into a small storefront that read Bagel Emporium. After walking in I was overcome by the nice warm sweet smells of this bagel shop. Upon returning to the hotel I recommended it to everyone. My description of the aroma coming from Bagel Emporium must have been tantalizing since the entire group wanted to go there immediately.
