A virtual notebook of Christian expression, journey, and study. Wed, 06 Aug 2008 21:37:31 +0200 I used my free time on my days off to re-skin my blog. Notes: 1. For this theme, I quit IE6. I don’t care about IE6. 2. I’m not finished. I’ll be tweaking the design as time goes on, and permits. 3. This design comes with 100% more monk. He’ll spit out wise sayings, for [...]
Tue, 05 Aug 2008 03:27:59 +0200 It’s my day off, so I try to do things that have nothing to do with the other six days. I’m not sure how I stumbled into this story about Kurt Cobain, River Phoenix, Gus Van Sant, Illuminati, Monarch Projects, Children of God Hippie Cult, and MKultra, but I did. Other interesting discoveries include the [...]
Tue, 05 Aug 2008 03:08:15 +0200 Why have I been so busy lately? Planting a church takes a lot of time and energy. We just threw our first annual block party in the city. See a post re: it by Steven.

See it and link it [...]
Sat, 26 Jul 2008 07:25:15 +0200 The follow-up post regarding the Emergent Roadshow is in the works. The later part of my week is slow blogging, because I turn my complete attention towards my ministry responsibilities for the coming Sunday. So, the follow-up is coming, but it’ll have to wait ’till Monday afternoon. ‘Till then, read the article Brian Ross (one [...]

A Pastor’s Kid Defined, originally uploaded by lofitribe.
The above snapshot was snapped right after our Sunday morning service, at our spot in Lancaster City.
Tue, 22 Jul 2008 19:52:28 +0200 I’m still paging through Creed or Chaos (1948) when free time presents itself. Sayers has left us with an incredible little treatise on the importance of Christian doctrine. Here’s just one of many thought provoking excerpts:
The task is not made easier by the obstinate refusal of a great body of nominal Christians, both lay [...]

Warning: The following is a pretty sharp critique of a contemporary movement within the church called “Emergent” (AKA Emergent Village). It’s not a pleasant critique, as I have never been fully taken with what this movement represents and peddles. I did honestly investigate it, with an open mind. I read most of the books. I [...]
Sun, 20 Jul 2008 19:50:47 +0200 Thom Stark has just launched The Jesus Politics Network. The Network promises to be a place where radical, counter-cultural, Gospel-based reflections concerning society and non-violent resistance are expressed regularly. I am personally thrilled to be a part of this project. I’ll be posting there regularly, along with Thom, Jacob Breeze, Stephen Lawson, Tyler Stewart.
