Are you actively betting on MLB baseball? If you're a sports bettor, I hope so. Personally, I believe betting on MLB baseball to be the most lucrative of all the sports. Sure, betting on the NFL, NBA, etc is exciting, but I'm talking pure profits here. Could this be why many sportsbooks don't make the same promotional effort that they do with basketball and football? In a baseball betting article on MadduxSports.com, they said, "Baseball is an afterthought to most proletarian sports bettors." Do you think this is true? I do. Here's the other factor—amount of games. If you're going to buy MLB picks, it can make sense. Think about it for a moment. Unlike football, there's a plethora of games to wager on almost every day of the week. Confused? Don't be. It's simple. With a sport like football, and boy do I love that sport too, the sports bettor is forced to select from a limited amount of games. The lines also tend to be more accurate. However, with MLB baseball, there are so many games on a daily, weekly and monthly basis that sports bettors can pick and choose their targets. I think the longer season gets to many novice sports bettors. It's easy to start confusing stats and to simply get overwhelmed by the amount of data and angles 4-5 months into the season. Betting on MLB baseball is lucrative and I've been doing it for many years.

We are at the end of April, and the 2007 MLB season is in full swing. As of this writing, there have been 330 MLB games played. We're starting to see some interesting baseball betting trends. It's important that I give credit to my source, which is SportsBettingBaseball.com. By reading their MLB reports, which are published throughout the week, it's easy to spot some of the baseball betting items I'll mention.
We're a couple weeks into the MLB season and in the NL West, the LA Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks are leading the division (Dodgers have a 1.5 game lead). In a recent NL West MLB Scoring Report by Sports Betting Baseball (SportsBettingBaseball.com), the Dodgers and Diamondbacks were the two teams in the NL West with a positive hits/runs ratio.

Sports Betting Baseball (SportsBettingBaseball.com) has unveiled a new weekly MLB stats report called "MLB Error Report." If you want to see what teams are committing errors and how many at a glance, this is a great report. This week's report is located here: MLB Error Report The New York Yankees have the worst error ratio is baseball right now. It came as no surprise to me to see the Washington Nationals at the top of the list.

The Oakland A's are a couple hours away from starting the final game in a three game series at Texas. The A's picked up game one and two by beating the Rangers 9-3 and 5-3 respectively. Texas has now dropped to 9 games back and is all but out of it. There are just 31 games left in the season for most teams. If the Rangers are going to keep hope alive, they must win tonight and get back to within 8 games. Since they are trailing a second team—the Angels—the task is twice as difficult.

Dontrelle Willis has been part of the trade rumors all season. However, he says he wants to stay in Florida. The problem is Florida. They are dragging their feet. While Willis wants to stay, he’s not about to sign for peanuts. His former teammate, Josh Beckett, got a nice extension with the Boston Red Sox [...]

The New York Yankees are at Baltimore for game two of their series today. Yesterday, the Yankees won 6-5 in dramatic fashion. Farnsworth for the Yankees got the win and Ray for the Orioles got the loss. Today’s match up puts the struggling Randy Johnson of the Yankees against even higher ERA Adam Loewen for the Orioles.

It’s been a long time coming—for Dodger fans—but Eric Gagne make his return in Los Angeles tonight. The Phillies spoiled the night as they scored five runs in the 7th inning and eventually won 8-6, but many fans were probably more interested in Gagne’s return. It was perfect timing. Gagne’s return was before a sellout crowd of 55,142.

It’s a bird, no it’s a plane, nope, it’s the Rocket! Roger Clemens has officially announced his return to baseball today. It’s tough to keep a good player out of the sport. Roger Clemens gave into the lure of competition and money. After months of rumors and flirtations with various teams, Roger Clemens has decided to return to Houston—and they sure need him. The Houston Astros basically laid it all out on the table. They are in a desperate situation. Andy Pettitte has been struggling and they found themselves 6.5 back of the NL Central Division leading Cardinals and 3.5 back in the NL Wild Card Race.

Last night’s game between the Tigers and Mariners was a low scoring affair. The Mariners made some minor league mistakes that cost them at least two runs. As a result, they lost 2-1. While both of these teams normally score more runs per game on average, last night’s low scoring game was expected given who was on the mound. The Mariners had sent perhaps their best pitcher to the mound and the Tigers sent a pitcher who is doing very well this year. However, tonight looks to be a different matter. Let’s take a look at this game.
