We've opened a new section on SourceForge for language files for XOOPS 2.3.x

Please check the existing translations, and let us know about any problems. Also, if your language files are missing, please help us with the translation.

You can use the "lang_tool" module for it, which you can download from here, however, I've been told that it works only for ISO translations.

But we'll need both ISO and UTF-8 translations. You can save the ISO file as UTF-8 file using notepad++, but make sure that you select in "Format" menu, the "Convert to UTF-8 without BOM" option.

If you did translations, please let us know here where can we download them from.

Sinnedesign is my Xoops Themes Site base on XOOPS 2.0.18.2. I've build this Xoops Site with the following XOOPS modules:

The XOOPS Development Team is pleased to announce the release of XOOPS 2.3.1 RC.

This release is mainly focused on bug fixes for XOOPS 2.3.0 release according to community feedbacks.
A couple of bugs in upgrade scripts from 2.2 to 2.3 have been fixed, as well as profile field access problems.
Meanwhile XOOPS news aggregator has been improved for non UTF-8 charset websites, multiple feeds are enabled.
The XOOPS development team is looking forward to community feedbacks to reach a final release as soon as possible.

The WebShow module for the XOOPS content management system combines a media directory with Jeroen Wijering's JW Media Player to catalog and play Flash media files, directories and webfeeds. WebShow is also a web feed generator that will read and filter a media directory, generate an XSPF playlist and publish a web feed link.

Jeroen Wijering's JW Media Player is under the enclosed Non-Profit Share-A-Like Creative Commons License. Commercial users will need to get a commercial license from Jeroen at http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?order=form

W.O.X. - WORLD OF XOOPS #13 (October 2008)

Another month, and another issue of the WOX (World of XOOPS) Newsletter (see here previous versions)  

Month of September was a very busy month for us - with new XOOPS 2.3 being finally released!!!! The weeks ahead will be full of work for the XOOPS community, as we need test existing modules for compatibility with XOOPS 2.3.  It was also another great month for new modules and themes and more and more Websites around the world successfully utilizing XOOPS. We salute all of XOOPS developers who develop new modules and themes and share them with the XOOPS Community!!!

  • XOOPS in Finals for Best PHP Open Source CMS!!!! Yes, XOOPS is on the roll - this is the second time this year that XOOPS got into finals of a major Open Source competition, the first being for "Best Open Source Project" on Source Forge Community Awards.   • We continue with the XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Christophe Capitaine (Burning) for his innovative Theme Gallery.

Hello All Xoopsers,
XOOPSLand goes to a new version, with 19 free XOOPS themes and a new section : XOOPS Menus

This new section is a fusion of XOOPSLand and Xoops-Menu which offers to all xoopsers a wide range of great menus to use in their xoops website,also with support and help in the case of problem.

Now that we have went to production with Video Tube v1.8 CVD is looking over feature requests for the next release.


  • With the number of non-english sites that are employing Video Tube we definitely need to provide full language support

  • Clean up the current language files to eliminate many terms that are duplicated, making translation easier

  • Add video flagging so visitors can report inappropriate or unavailable videos

  • Move several of the functions to classes simplifying code and making the addition of future enhancements easier

  • Clean up any text variables that are hard-coded moving them into language files

  • Add notifications

  • Add nested subcategories



    • Other possibilities we are looking into are:

  • Addition of more services with the search, preview and auto-fill features

  • Automated admin function for identifying videos that are no longer available due to expiration or the author disabling the permission to embed the video after the initial post

  • Blocks that allow you to spotlight videos by a particular submitter to promote visitor submissions

  • Admin function for making multiple submissions simultaneously so you can create large amounts of video content in just a few easy steps

  • An automated script for porting your YouTube video info from X-Movie tables into Video Tube

  • I don't know if it will be possible but I am looking at trying to create a cross-module function so you can use the YouTube search, preview and auto-fill in Video Tube to add videos to your Yogurt profile
