Watercolour painting of the Old harbour at Fishguard, West Wales. The sky is a real treat in this painting by Rebecca Davies. If you’ve ever been to Wales you’ll recognise the brooding skies and the the boat resting in shallow water waiting for the tide to flow back down the small estuary. This is one of [...]

Only just hitting the fim festivals, but one to look out for is Strange Culture, by Lynn Hershman Leeson. This is a documentary about artist Steve Kurtz and his experiences with the FBI thinking his art was bioterrorism. The trailors are here. Looking forward to seeing it.

Nice piece of contemporary art here. Trouble is when I enlarge the pic I can only read the top half. But i like what I can see!
Check here for photos of Damien Hirst’s latest opening party. It is remarkable that he has been singled out for art star treatment. Anyway, here are the photos from his exhibition at Gagosian, Beverly Hills. Like all art world private views, you can’t actually see the work at all.

Take a look at this link and scroll down to the black and white photo by George Tice - Joe’s barber shop. Sure it’s retro and laden with nostalgia, but it’s got that uncertain expectation - is the shop shut for the day or is it bankrupt, sorta a Hopper painting in silver chloride. An [...]
