PLEASE FORWARD TO YOUR FRIENDS

Hi,

How's it going?

Tomorrow is the day we are going to start allowing comments
to the blog again. I am pretty sure tomorrow is the day.
We have been working hard on not only setting up a better
system so it's not out of control with comments that
are threatening in nature but also new software to
make it way easier for to operate the blog.

You can listen to this audio podcast that talks
about what happen with the old blog and why I had
to stop allowing comments.

It's not that long, take a listen right now:

Hi,

How's it going?

You're going to think I am totally
out of my mind today.

I have a really funny story to tell
you.

It's about of course one of my body building
friends.

I always tell you these stories because they
are really funny. Over the years, I have
had so much f.ree entertainment from so
many people in so many gyms. Plus, these
body building people provide great lessons
for bipolar disorder.

Anyway, I was talking to one person that
is a body builder. He tells me that
his grocery bill is guess how much?

Well you of course now because of the
subject line of this email. It's $1500
a month.

On some days he eats 24 (twenty four) eggs.
Imagine that for a second. 24 eggs and that's
just ONE meal. He eats 8 times per day.

It's crazy.

This person is young. Mid twenties. I looked
at him and said, "how the heck do you afford
that."

He says, "dude, I don't know. I get it done.
I make it happen. I do what it takes."

He then told me how he might have to have
3 or 4 jobs (part time jobs because he
can't work full time. He has to eat and
work out too much).

He has very strange jobs that work perfect
for him. Things where you can work for
only a few hours at a time.

He said if he is ever "short" he sits down
and brainstorms ways to make money. He says
that many times he has had no money at all
and like a miracle something broke lose
to help him in his quest to be the best
body builder.

What's this have to do with bipolar
disorder? A lot.

First one thing you can learn from a
body builder concerning bipolar disorder
is there determination for one objective--
that's to be the best body builder, to be
the biggest, most "ripped", etc.

When you think about bipolar disorder,
most people who are not successful do
not have this determination. Most supporters
don't say, "I am absolutely positive determined
to help my loved one become stable and high
functioning no matter what it takes."

Sometimes I can understand why someone with
bipolar disorder is not like this. They may
be unstable so they can't think clearly. However
the bipolar supporter needs to have this determination.

When I was supporting my mom, I had this determination.
I said "I am determined to help my mom become well."
I didn't know at the time terms like stable or
high functioning.

SIDE NOTE-As I type this, my computer keeps trying
to restart itself. It's really making mad :)

Anyway, back to my point, when I meet various
body builders you hear the determination in their
voice.

They are faced with:

massive amounts of eating ( 6 to 8 times
a day. Some have to eat in the middle of the
night).

Huge costs. There is the cost of food, supplements,
gym memberships, etc.

Brutal training. Sometimes they have to work out
2 and 3 times a day. Way more than normal people.

Having to slightly modify their plans. The best
of the best get there body fat and are looked
at regularly. They have to make slight modifications
to their diet, eating, cardio, weight training, rest,
sleep, etc to look the best.

If you compare body building to becoming stable with
bipolar disorder, there is no comparison. It's brutal.
It's one of the reasons why I body build NON competitively.

I seriously couldn't go into competitions. If I do,
I could NOT run a business. I could not ever have
fun really. No more hanging out with friends. Your
life is training and eating. It's nightmare.

But, those that do it and do it well have lessons
to teach those who are not doing it.

One of the biggest lessons is the can do, it
can happen, I am going to get it done no matter
what attitude.

And if you talk to a person who maybe isn't that
big, maybe doesn't have the genetics, maybe has
lots going against him/her like he/she has very limited money,
he/she is convinced that he/she will do well NO MATTER
WHAT. He/she has 100% belief that the objective will
be accomplished. Period.

When you think of bipolar disorder and you are
a supporter, you need this type of 100% belief
that ultimately gets you to slowly turn things
around for your loved one. Slowly buy surely
you start making progress. Then your loved one
gets better and better and then eventually
your loved one becomes high functioning.

I talk at length of all the systems and tools
that you need to make these types of transformations.

Also in the success interviews people tell
you exactly how they did it.

When you listen to the interviews in any of my
courses/systems you notice that you hear people
with horrible stories but who were able to turn
it around.

This is not a mistake. I spent a lot of time
finding people who had the worst situations
that didn't have it easy, and turned it around.

This is why when people listen to these interviews
they feel great afterwards. They know they can
do it.

To jumpy back to my body building friends. They
all think of and cite other body builders that
had it was worse than themselves. They watch
videos. They talk to people. This his how
they motivate themselves.

This is what you need to do as well.

Just remember my friend with a $1500
a month grocery bill, gyms membership
bills, a car payment, rent, $1000 a month
in supplements, etc. who makes it happen.

And, he like a person who may have bipolar
disorder, can NOT work full time.

He makes it happen. He could say that it's
impossible. But he makes it possible.

If you asked me could someone without a
full time job, who can only work in a limited
fashion afford almost $3000 a month in NON
essentials to live, I would say no.

However, people like him are all over the
world. They make things happen.

You need this attitude as well.

Know what I mean?

No matter how bad things are going for
you, no matter how hard it seems, no
matter how many times you have tried and
failed, you can do it. Period.

No arguments :)

Hey I have to go.

Hi,

How's it going?

Hope you are doing well today. Over the
last couple of days, we had one of the largest
influxes of subscribers ever. Almost 4000 new
people in just two days or so.

Today I wanted to send out a message about
our bipolar blog and what happen.

Just in case you don't know, I have a blog.

The original mission of the blog was:

"With this blog, I want to keep all of you
updated on important information and share
with you some of my own thoughts about supporting
someone who has bipolar disorder. This blog, and
all the opinions expressed herein, are not
intended to replace the assessment, advice or
treatment of a physician or therapist, and are
not professional advice. If you are looking for
prose written by an English teacher with perfect
grammar, this will not be for you."

That's what I wrote about 2 years ago when I first
started the blog.

In the last year, the blog has been focused on
supporting an adult with bipolar disorder, a child/teen
and for those with bipolar disorder.

For about a year, it was doing great. Readership
was really high. People were making comments
regularly.

But then starting towards the end of April 2008
and early May, I noticed something.

There were a FEW hostile people. A few people with
bipolar disorder who were really ill and totally
unstable.

These people were doing the following:

threatening me
attacking me
saying that I stole money from them. For example
one person said I stole her grocery money. Another
person said I broke into their house. Another person
said I stole their tools they just bought from
Lowes.

I spent several days tracking these people down.
I found in ALL cases of where I could actually
talk to someone, the person was OFF their medication.

Then I started getting death threats to my cell
phone and home phone.

People were threatening me to take down all
my sites, to promote "natural remedies" for
bipolar disorder. To stop being the "hand" of
drug companies. To stop attacking those with
bipolar disorder.

99% of this made ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE AT ALL.
None.

It really started to get annoying
and old quickly.

Then I had people who read my blog for a long
time and were friends of mine. Nice people who
were stable who have my phone number. MANY called
saying the blog was getting totally out of control
that bipolar disorder took over and it was insanity.

These people urged me to do something. I then
went to the people who work for me that have
bipolar disorder and asked what they thought I should
do.

The people who work for me said I should keep the blog
up but not allow comments any more until a better system
was created to stop the few people who were posting
crazy things.

So I did that. I had Andrea who works for me stop
all comments on the blog and that was that.

FREE Audio Recording.

You can hear more about this by visiting and listening
to the following podcast.

http://bipolarcentral.libsyn.com/index.php?post_id=339971
My goal of the blog was to have a place for f.ree expression.
I didn't want to moderate the blog because it kind of
limited f.ree speech in my mind.

But someone who has bipolar disorder, actually 10 disorders
that works for me (she is a tremendous asset), set me
straight. She said essentially, "Dave, I admire your
let's have freedom of speech approach but it doesn't
make any sense at all. You can't go into a crowded
building and yell fire. There are limitations to
f.ree speech. You have to setup a better system
and set rules otherwise the worst of bipolar disorder
will run your blog and it will be like the support
groups we all hate. The ones were the sickest most
ill people take over and drive all the good people
away."

After hearing her, I knew she was right. So
then I worked with a number of people to develop
a new system.

Basically the blog will be moderated. What this
means is that there will be people who have to
approve messages BEFORE they are posted. This
is the only way to do it.

BUT, the only messages that will be blocked will
be:

-death threats to anyone not just me (we had people
threatening to fight one another over issues related
to bipolar disorder)

-hate speech. For example someone saying all people
with mental illnesses would be better off dead (
this was posted before by some unknown person
and removed but it's a TERRIBLE
thing to say).

-flat out lies that don't make sense. For example
saying I flew to a different country and broke into
someone's house and stole there DVD player.

That's it. You can disagree with me. You attack
me and my beliefs. You can get away with a lot.
But none of the above.

I hope this makes sense to you? Some will be
mad and want it to have no moderation. I don't
think having these standards are a problem. These
are minimum standards.

You'll see what I do allow and I am sure you will
be happy.

The important lesson that I wanted to also mention
to you is:

YOU CAN LET A BIPOLAR EPISODE CONTROL EVERYTHING

Read that again.

Bipolar disorder is a sneaky thing. I actually
think of it as a person. It's goal is to rise up
and create destruction. It works really hard
to do this.

If you are a bipolar supporter, you can never ever
let a bipolar disorder episode take over.

In my courses/systems below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

I talk about how important it is to make
sure this doesn't happen.

There are all kinds of systems to setup. There's
lots to do.

If you have bipolar disorder, you MUST work
with a supporter and setup a system that
is in place in case you go into a bipolar
episode. A system that makes sure you
are protected.

When I was speaking to some of the people
that threatened me or said that I broke
into their house, two didn't even remember
saying anything.

EVERYONE had no friends. No family. No money.
They had lost it all. EVERYONE moved away
from them.

When you think of this blog and what happen,
remember these people.

1. You can't let a bipolar episode control
the show so to speak.

2. If you have bipolar disorder, stay on
your medication otherwise you will most likely
do and say something really bad. NOTE-For some
of these people if I wanted I could press charges
and get them into a whole lot of trouble with
the law. It's not legal to make death threats
against someone. Everyone I contacted agreed
to go to the hospital. Note, you can read about
that in my past blog posts where I talk about
how I confronted these people and what they said
exactly and what they agreed to (you can see
old blog posts below).

3. You have to take action. When there is a
problem with bipolar disorder, you MUST
take action right away. You can't wait weeks,
or months. Action is required right away.
In my case, I let the blog problems which
you could say was the result of almost
a mass mini bipolar episode go on too long.
Shame on me. BUT after a short period of
time I took action to deal with the problem.
I didn't let it get totally out of control.

4. You have to look back at what happen,
discover why it happen and make a system to
prevent it from happening again. People never
really do this with bipolar disorder. They
never look back. My dad HATED (understatement),
looking back at my mom's past episodes. He said,
"I don't live in the past." That's not smart thinking.
You look at the past to make a better future.
Today my dad totally agrees. It was all the past
research that I did to figure out patterns with
my mom to predict the future and make better
systems and plans.

Honestly, there's a lot to learn with bipolar
disorder. Most of it's in my systems and courses.
You can learn it on your own but it takes a long
time. Other wise you can learn it from me and others.
It's up to you. I just urge you to learn it either
way no matter how you do.

Hey, I just looked at the clock and I have to
run to the gym.

I think tomorrow is the day that we will be
able to start posting comments again. Andrea
is getting it all ready.

Excited?

Catch you tomorrow. Hope you aren't mad
at me about the new rules and regulations.
Hey, guess what? If you are, with the new
system you can write about it and have it
posted and that's okay. Even if it's
negative about me. That's okay to post.
Just no violations of the points I listed
above.

Okay, seriously I have to go. Catch you tomorrow.

Your Friend,

Dave

Hi,

First I wanted to say Welcome to
all our new subscribers. Over the last
24 hours we have gotten up to 2400
NEW subscribers to the bipolar
news and daily.

Okay, let's jump into today's topic.

You're not going to believe this,
but I was actually accused of
being a fraud, because of having
this website for people with
bipolar disorder and their
supporters, because this person
didn't believe that bipolar disorder
is real.

This person actually said that
bipolar disorder is a LIE!

Now, I don't know if this has
ever happened to you, but I
was stuck between not wanting
to say anything to even defend
myself because it was obvious
that this guy knew absolutely
nothing and I would be wasting
my breath --

and totally telling him off, which
would also probably have been
wasting my breath, since I don't
think this guy would have listened
to a word anyway ? he was too
sure of himself.

But to believe that bipolar
disorder is a LIE?

Then how come 13 million
people in this country have it?

Now I know our government
Isn't always forthcoming about
a lot of things, but that is their
statistic! And that's only the
REPORTED cases! I wonder
how many UNREPORTED
cases there are? I wonder how
many people really have bipolar
disorder?

At any rate, it's impossible to
believe that the disorder is a lie.

A person who has bipolar
disorder would certainly say that
the disorder is NOT a lie!

And a supporter of a loved one
with bipolar disorder would
definitely not say that the
disorder is a lie!

That's because you deal with
the disorder day in and day out.

In my courses/systems, I go into
how society looks at bipolar
disorder and that this kind of
thinking is part of the stigma
of the disorder:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

So since I teach about it, you would
think I would be used to it, right?

Wrong!

It still makes me mad that other
people are still so ignorant of the
facts about bipolar disorder.

I have tried so hard to build up
bipolarcentral.com from scratch
and did so much research (taking
9 months off from work) and took
so much time at first to help my mom
and then to help so many other
people with bipolar disorder who
I discovered needed help too, that
I KNOW that bipolar disorder is
real.

Obviously, this man doesn't have
someone with the disorder, or he
wouldn't say it's a lie.

But what do you say to someone
like this?

Years ago, when bipolar disorder
first started being diagnosed, I
know someone who got disability
for bipolar disorder in only 90 days.

Recently, I ran into someone who
didn't get his disability for 3 years,
because by the time he applied for it,
everyone and their brother was
claiming to have the disorder!

It probably took the second guy
3 years to get his disability because
most likely by then some people
were lying about having the disorder
just to get disability.

The point is, that these people
might be lying, but that doesn't
mean that bipolar disorder itself
is a lie..

See the difference?

Still, I think this guy is way off
base calling bipolar disorder a lie.

Anyone who lives with it KNOWS
that bipolar disorder is NOT a LIE.

Hi,

Happy Memorial Day if you celebrate it.

For our international readers, here is
a quick description of what this day
is:

Memorial Day is a United States Federal
holiday observed on the last Monday of May
(in 2008 on May 26). Formerly known as
Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and
women who perished while in military service to
their country. First enacted to honor Union soldiers
of the American Civil War, after World War I,
Memorial Day was expanded to include casualties
of any war or military

Since today is a day in the US that focuses
on the military, I was thinking about
all the military people I know.

They all believe one thing--they have
power.

Did you know that you have POWER?

You DO!

You have power over your own
thoughts, feelings, and actions!

There is a relationship between your
thinking, the way you feel, and the
actions you take on the way you feel,
and that's where your power lies. You
have power over your own thoughts
so you have power over the way you
feel and your actions/choices.

We are all constantly thinking. And
it's worse for someone with bipolar
disorder, because sometimes their
thoughts don't stop when they go to
bed ? they aren't able to turn off their
brain, and their thoughts just keep on
going.

Thinking is subconscious. It's like
breathing. Unless you're aware of it,
you don't know that you're doing it.
Because you're always doing it, it's
easy to forget.

Unlike breathing, though, with a
person with bipolar disorder, forgetting
that you're thinking can cause serious
consequences, because not all thinking
is good thinking. Your thoughts can
become distorted and cause all kinds
of bad things to happen.

There are even some types of bipolar
disorder where thinking becomes so
distorted that it leads to hallucinations
and delusions.

Forgetting that you're thinking can
cause some serious problems in your
life as a supporter, too, such as
unhappiness, inner conflicts, anger,
and stress.

In my courses/systems, I teach about
having control over your thoughts,
which helps you to have control over
your thinking, which in turn helps you
have control over your actions:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

Your thoughts are directly related
to your feelings, and your feelings
are directly related to your actions.
In other words, you can't feel angry
before first having an angry thought.
And you can't react in anger without
first feeling angry.

The truth is, in order to experience
a feeling, you must first have a
thought that produces that feeling.

Unhappiness doesn?t and can't exist
on its own. Unhappiness is the
feeling that accompanies negative
thinking about your life. Without
that thinking, the unhappiness
(or stress, anger, etc.) can't exist.

So you have to change your thoughts,
because you DO have the power
to change them!

"As you are, so your thinking is"
is the old adage. Knowing you
have the power to change your
thoughts, you also have the power
to change your thinking and, so,
your actions.

There is nothing to hold your
negative feeling in place other
than your own thinking. The
next time you're feeling upset,
take the time to notice your
thinking ? I bet it'll be negative.

Then remind yourself that it's
your thinking that's negative, and
NOT your life! You may not be
able to change your life (your
loved one will still have bipolar
disorder), but you CAN change
your thoughts about your life!

You can change your negative
thoughts into positive ones.
This is something you DO have
power over.

You can't change your loved one's
thoughts from negative to positive.
This is something you do NOT
have power over.

So stick to something you CAN
control ? your own thoughts,
feelings, and actions. Use your
power to change yourself. And
maybe, by a positive example,
your loved one will begin to
change as well.

Your Friend,

Dave

Hi,

What's going on?

Hey, I wanted to send this out last week
but I forget. Sorry. Sometimes I forget
things. Shame on me.

Anyway, I have been doing a lot of thinking
about disability and bipolar disorder. I am
coming out with a new course on how to
get disability. I have many people who
work for me who are on disability so I have
to think about it a lot.

The thing is, there is a MAJOR problem
with disability and bipolar disorder.

I mean major.

Let me tell you what it is: There is a
belief that when you are on disability and
have bipolar disorder you cannot or
should not work.

Okay, first let me say something.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

I am NOT a doctor, therapist, lawyer,
financial advisor and I am NOT and I
repeat NOT offering and medical, legal
or financial advise.

With that said, I am going to tell
you my opinion which comes from having
over 225,000 people sign up to my newsletters,
having worked with more than 30 people who
were on disability, having lots of friends
on disability, and meeting and personally
talking to people from Social Security.

If you're on disability and have a disorder
like bipolar disorder, and you are stable,
and you don't work or do something, you
generally get worse.

No one ever says this to people.

I don't know why but I am going to.

Let's look at a few things I said. First
I said if you are stable. So the person who
is not stable should not be working.

Second, you have to make sure your doctor
and/or therapist is okay with you working.

Now let's look at why you or your loved one
with bipolar disorder would get worse.

1. Disability is supplementary income.
You can't make it on just disability. You
need some other kind of income to deal with
bipolar disorder. It just doesn't pay enough.

2. The old "idle hands are the workshop of
the devil." If you are on disability, have
bipolar disorder and don't have anything to
do or focus on, you wind up getting bored,
and having way to much time. Lots of extra
time on your hands leads to bad things in
general. This is just the way it is.

I know doctors will read this and say that
there are not 22,000 studies to back up what
I just said, but I don't need studies ? I
can see with my own eyes.

With my own mom, when she had nothing to
do for many periods of her life, she got
worse eventually. And she wound up having
more depressions and more manias. There
were many more.

These days my mom works, volunteers, goes
to church regularly and her schedule is
filled and busy. She said to me, "I
don't have time to have episodes, I am
too busy."

3. If you are smart, creative and really
intelligent, you need to exercise your
brain. Let's assume you agree with me
and the person with bipolar disorder is
indeed smarter, more creative, more intelligent.

IF this is the case, if a person just sits
home and does nothing and is on disability
don't you think that's going to have a
negative affect on this type of person?

Of course.

The problem is, the social security department
and many doctors even forget to bring this
up. Everyone is so focused on getting people
stable that they forget about the second
part of the equation which is keeping
someone stable.

I have never met someone who has bipolar
disorder and is on disability who is not
doing something regularly--working part
time, volunteering, doing something
productive in society.

Also, let me define work. Work is generally
part time and can be paid or volunteer in
nature.

I am not talking about working 85 hours
a week in a super stressful job trying
to make 82 million a year. Know what I mean?

You'll hear that the people on disability,
actually work part time or volunteer. You'll
hear that many bipolar supporters used to be
opposed to their loved one working because
they felt working created stress which triggered
episodes. But you'll hear those people say
how they learned the hard way that a person
who has bipolar disorder has to do something
productive or they get worse.

The success stories all learned the hard way.
You're lucky you can tap into their knowledge
and not learn the hard way like they did.

Hey, I just looked at the clock and I have
to run. Does this make sense to you?

I sure hope so.

Dave

Hey,

What's going on?

I was just sitting around and doing some planning.
What kind of planning? Well I was planning my workout
and meals for the next 7 days or so. I do that a lot.
Many of my friends think I am out of my mind
because I do so much planning.

But you know the old saying:

"People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan."

I was thinking about bipolar disorder as well
and how many things that people don't plan
for.

And with bipolar disorder you MUST plan.

First let me step back and say one thing
about myself.

The reason why I am so serious about health
and fitness is because I realized about?
hmmm?10 years ago how important it was.

Let me quickly tell you the story so you know
it.

Okay, I was in my last year of football. I played
football for 14 years and a bunch of other
sports. But football was my focus. I was also
a power lifter at the time.

A power lifter is a person that lifts very
heavy weights. Usually in three major
exercises: bench, squat, and dead lift.

I was, I would say, really strong. I could
do 465 pounds on squat for 17 repetitions,
which is really pretty strong (not to brag).

I was also 282 pounds at the time. Some
of my really good friends were over 300 pounds.

We had no problem ever eating really late
at night. Actually it was common for us to
have a double from WAWA (like a convenience
store that sells food). A double is 2 foot
long subs with double cheese, double meat,
double lettuce, double everything with two
large drinks and two bags of potato chips.

We made up the term, but that's what a double
was. We use to do this about 12:00 at night,
no problem. NO ONE ever thought about whether
it was healthy or not.

Anyway, we all did well in football and
we were in good football lineman shape.
I was NOT low in body fat but could run
really fast ? I could sprint and I could
do what a lineman had to do. Could I run
5 miles? No way! I would fall over!

So anyway, all we were into was getting
bigger and stronger. We were what people
call "meatheads." A meathead is a slang
term for a person who only focuses on
getting big and strong. A meathead is
like a caveman from back in the day.

BIPOLAR DISORDER LESSON COMING....

So here's what changed me. I remember
it just like it was the other day.
After our last football game, we had
like a get together. Old football players
from back in the day were going to be
coming to school to hang out. Some of
them were really, really good. Like legends.

I never met some but I saw them in films,
on the wall, or in pictures.

I will never forget this.

When they came it was scary. Most of the people
Looked ? guess what? HORRIBLE!

They were big and fat. I mean like 350 pounds
fat. Some could barely move. I remember this
one guy that was super good and looked like
a machine in old pictures almost couldn't
move he was so darn big!

I asked around in a nice way what the heck
happened to these people?

It was like they all caught a strange illness
that made them go from being super athletic
to really big and fat.

My coached laughed, and said, and I will
never forget this:

"That's how you guys end up."

I said, "Huh?" and he said, "You guys
get big and fat after you stop playing ball."

Right then I said to myself, "This will NOT
be me. There is no way I am going to let that
happen to me."

I felt like I had just gone through a sacred
straight problem--you know when they take
bad kids and bring them to jails and say, "Look
at these people, if you keep being bad, you'll
be in here as well," and the kids say, "Oh my God,
I don't to be in jail, I will be good."

Anyway, I decided I was going to stop the
power lifting and stop being a "meathead"
and get into super good shape, have abs,
have low body fat, etc.

I just didn't know how to do it.

What did I need? I needed a clear cut
plan.

I went and like you can imagine because you
Know me pretty well now. I bought every
book on dieting, body building and losing
weight. I tried everything.

The books were not good enough. I could only
get so far.

One day I met a guy who became my mentor.
His name was Ismail. He taught me the real
little secrets to getting the results I
was looking for.

He was REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, smart and
good at what he did.

He is the one who told me that quote, "People
don't plan to fail, they fail to plan."

He gave me a plan.

Getting back to bipolar disorder, the problem
with bipolar disorder is 99% of people don't
have a plan. Supporters don't have a plan.
Most people just throw caution to the wind
and hope for the best.

I talk about all the different plans you'll
need to have. I talk about the importance of planning
and most importantly, I give you the plans to
accomplish probably 95% of the goals you'll
have--no matter what your situation.

Also, even more importantly, you get to learn
from not only me but real people who were really
dealing with bipolar disorder and what plans
they use.

Today take a minute and ask yourself the following
questions:

-do you believe in planning?

-do you have a plan to get to where you want
to go whether you are a bipolar supporter or a
bipolar survivor

-do you have a clear picture of what you'll
be up against to accomplish your plans

I want to warn you, if you don't know
the importance of planning and don't know
what you'll be up against, how are you
going to actually accomplish anything
with bipolar disorder?

Dave

Your Friend,

Dave
Hey,

How's it going?

I have a funny story today. It's a gym
story.

Someone asked if all I do is go to the
gym. No actually I don't. But I have
to do 14 cardio sessions now a week
and weight train 5 days a week. Over
the next week I will be spending a ton
of time in the gym because of my goals.

Sometimes during the year, I lower my
body fat really low. My goal is to hit 6
percent by June 1, 2008.

Anyway, I was in the gym. Right now
lots of my friends are training for all
sots of contents. Lots of them are angry
because their diets make them mad all
the time. It's like they have bipolar
disorder but really don't.

You can look at someone and the flip
out saying you were saying stuff about
them (LOL).

Good thing I am bigger guy.

So a friend of mine comes in the gym. Let's
call him Jim.

He's mad because he says that he is tired
and he has to do a whole lot of cardio.

Another friend of mine, let's call him Steve,
is working out. Steve has a lot of weight and
is doing squats.

Squats are an exercise that you put a lot of
weight on your back and squat down.

Jim looks at Steve and is mad. He says and
I quote, "That dude's form sucks. He's a loser.
I hate looking at him."

So then Steve eventually comes up to Jim
and starts talking to him. Everyone loves
to talk to Jim because he is really big,
in incredible shape, wins a lot of contests
and is super knowledgeable. You can have
virtually any problem with diet or exercise
and he has the answer. He is like a walking
specialist for men AND women.

So anyway, today he's especially angry due
to "low carbs."

Steve is like, "Hey man, how did you get
a 700 pound squat?"

Jim replies, "What??? It wasn't working
out like you do."

So then Steve feels dumb and is like, "umm,
can you help me?"

Jim says, "Your form is a disaster, who
the heck taught you how to squat? You should
shoot them. You need to start from scratch
and just do the bar. You probably won't because
you have no clue and you won't listen to
me."

So Steve assures Jim he is a good student
and will listen to anything he says.

NOTE-Can you imagine Jim as a therapist? LOL

So basically Jim says that Steve's so messed
up he has to start all over with the basics.

He explains what a squat is for. What correct
form is. He makes Steve practice. He tells
Steve to do just the bar which is 45 pounds
for 1 month. Then add 90 pounds for 2 months
and that's it. He said he would inspect his
form once a week or so.

He said that if Steve didn't follow his plan
he would never speak to him again or ever
acknowledge that he existed because his time
is "valuable" and Steve was lucky that he was
even speaking to him for more than 10 minutes.

I asked Big Jim about how he got his 700
pound squat. Big Jim is really nice to me.
I think because he wants to start a business
and he knows that I know how to do that. So
he respects me. He says Steve has nothing
to offer the world so he doesn't really
respect him.

Anyway, 700 pounds is a whole lot of
weight. MY best lift was probably only
about 650 pounds.

So big Jim said his form was no good
and he was doing it all wrong back in the
day. He asked for him from a guy.

The guy was a top guy who screamed at him
and said he was a loser and had to stop
everything and start over from scratch.
(obviously Jim learned how to scream at
people from this guy).

So big Jim's trainer yelled at him more
and more calling him "stupid" and finally
big Jim listened to him.

He basically went back to "square one"
and started working out with just the bar
which is only 45 pounds.

Then he added 90 more pounds and did that
for many months. Perfectly.

SLOWLY over time he added more weight making
sure his weightlifting form was perfect.

Because his form and his base was so perfect
he was able to have an incredible squat today
by adding more and more over time.

What's this have to do with bipolar disorder?

Nothing!

Just kidding....There's a point to my story.

Okay, I saw this blog post:

terry said...
I see your point on medication but what about
the bi-polor who keeps trying medication and has
tried so many different kinds and they(dr.'s)
say give it time and be patient and wind up with
adverse reactions and they say you may be the 1
percent that med. won't work for you or maybe
work for a short time and quit cause of rapid
cycling bi-polor....Is there hope out there.

(Again,)What are the basics of bipolar disorder?

Get a great doctor

Go and see him/her

Give them as much information as you have

Be upfront and honest

Realize it's going to take time

Report any side effects or situations with
the medications

If you have bipolar disorder, give you
supporter the ability to communicate with your
doctor so he/she can provide more information

Go find a great therapist.

Give them as much information as you have

Be up front and honest

I talk about all the little things you need
to do besides the list. But the list that I gave
you is the basics. The foundation of success.
Obviously there is more to learn.

But people who find themselves just messed
up in a constant sea of problems aren't
doing the basics. They have a bad doctor.
A doctor with no clue. They don't have a bipolar
supporter. They aren't providing the doctor
with background and ongoing information.

There's a bunch of people who work for me who
didn't do the basics and they were messed
up for YEARS and YEARS. When they did
the basics they laid the foundation
for tremendous success.

Dave

Hi,

How's it going?

I didn't tell you this but over the
last couple of weeks, there has been this
new diet sweeping one of the gyms I go
to.

IMPORTANT BIPOLAR LESSON COMING

Here's what happen.

One of the gyms that I work out in has a lot of
body builders in it. Also powerlifters and
strongmen and other kinds of people competing.

One day a guy started talking about how he
was going in an contest and he was trying
a new diet--a diet for sophisticated and
for advanced people.

The diet is a short term diet. It causes
dramatic fat loss but if you don't get off
it fast enough you can really mess yourself
up.

The diet is actually borderline dangerous.

Anyway, a bunch of regular people that had
no idea about the diet and how to get on
it properly and more importantly how to
get off it, started it.

NOTE-with this type of diet, if you get
off it wrong, you can gain a TON of weight
and it's really hard to ever lose the
weight you gain. It's just the nature
of the diet.

Anyway, a bunch of people went on it wrong.
They had no idea what they were doing and
then got off. They got off the diet wrong
and wound up gaining a ton of weight.

Now they are bigger than before.

All because the people wanted this
short cut and didn't research carefully.

What's this have to do with bipolar disorder?

A lot. The entire thing got me to thinking
about how people run around and try
things and methods for bipolar disorder
that no one has tested or don't come from
medical experts.

Or another common thing I see is, people
at meetings or on the internet, hear ONE part of
a person's treatment plan and they try to do
it without all the other parts. Without talking
to their doctor.

If I had a dollar for every time I saw this
in a support group meeting, I would be rich.

It amazes me how people think there is "one
good bipolar medication." One kind of treatment
plan.

things like this. How to take it slow
so that you do it right, not fast so
that you do it wrong and then fail.

Don't let something like this happen
to you. Know what I mean?

I just looked at the clock and have to run.

=>PLEASE FORWARD TO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES <=

Hi,

How's it going?

I hope you are doing well.

I want to tell you about something that
Happen to me with the police.

Here's the deal. I had to drive to this
insurance company to get this special insurance
for something.

So I tried to plug it into google but the
Directions didn't come up.

So I called the people. They tried to give
me the directions. It was like drive on this
road. Take one owl lane to one duck place to
the dirt road. Then go under the one lane bridge
and don't fall off in the lake (okay just kidding
about the lake.)

You get the idea.

So I basically was driving out to the place.

It was taking a really, really long time because
a) it was raining and b) there was traffic. Now
in the east there is massive traffic. We should
just rename the states with the word traffic in
them since where it so much. Like New York Traffic
or New Jersey Traffic. (Just kidding)

Okay so I was driving and after about 45 minutes
I got it looked like 15 minutes away. I was in
the town that I was supposed to be in.

So I saw a policeman, and I pulled into the
Parking lot where he was.

I got out of my car and made a friendly smile
and walked over with my pad, pen and name of the
company.

I went up to his car. Now keep in mind it
was raining, ok? So I was trying to cover my
pad so it wouldn't get totally wet.

So I went up to his car. Can you believe
this guy didn't even look at me? He just looked
forward. HE HAD TO SEE ME!

So I just kind of stood there, and I waited.
Then he turned his head and gave me a look
of total disgust. In my head I was like, "What
the heck is your problem? Sorry for bothering
you."

BUT, I didn't say anything. I just smiled
and then finally after seriously about 5 minutes
he rolled down his window a little.

He said, "Yea?" I said, "Excuse me sir, I was
wondering if you could tell me where this particular
insurance company is located. They've told me
they are a very large firm and the biggest in the
town."

He rolled up his window and then I was thinking
in my head "What the heck does this mean? Should
I just leave? Does he not know?"

Then he rolled down the window a little and said
take this road here and make a left. Go on that
road. I wrote it down really fast. And then
he rolled the window up. I then knocked on
his glass in a friendly way and said, "Sir, may
I repeat the directions back to you?"

He said, "If you have to."

I did and he said "Yea, yea that's right."

So I thanked him.

I was so disgusted. This policeman (and I use
that term loosely) was a)so annoying and b)
he was mean.

In this country, the police are supposed to
"serve and protect." I guess this guy forgot
the serve part. I was VERY polite and friendly.

I couldn't have been nicer. It's not like he was
doing anything, either. He was just sitting
there doing nothing at all. Serving no purpose.
Being paid to do nothing.

Anyway, so I drove and followed his directions.

For 15 minutes!

Then guess what? Take a wild guess and then scroll.

NO CHEATING...Guess and then scroll....

This guy actually gave me the wrong directions!

I finally got to a spot where I could use my
cell phone and the woman at the company said,
"Where in the world are you? Why are you there?"
I told her who gave me the directions and she
said, "Yea, those young cops don't know anything,
or else he was just messing with you."

I was sooooooooooooo mad. What the heck?

So I finally got there. Then I walked in and told
every person how bad the policeman was. I was so
mad that I was going to write a letter of complaint
but I have too many things to do.

What's this have to do with bipolar disorder you
might be asking? It has a lot to do with it.

Here's the deal. With bipolar disorder, many
times you may have to deal with the mental
health system which includes doctors, therapists,
assistants and other people who are SUPPOSED to
help you.

Many times these people will give you bad or
wrong information. It will be disgusting and
supper annoying. It will make you really mad.

You will be really angry.

The bottom line is, however, that you have
to move on and correct your course even when
you were told something that is wrong ?
something that is a total lie.

Let's look at my mom. Most people forget this.
My mom FOLLOWED doctor's orders and went into
a super episode. Did you just read that? I said
followed his orders!

My mom listened to her doctor who said to stop
taking the medication that was working and switch
to one that was new. Then she went into a super
episode and that's why I started this site.

Can you believe that? When I asked him why
he made this recommendation he first said he
didn't. Then he said he had to and it was in
the file. I told him I wanted to see the file.
He said the file was lost I was so mad.

I told him (and this is not the right thing
to do so don't do this or you could get in
trouble, "Oh yea? How about I come down with
a few friends and we help you look. My friend
might break some things while we're there, but
I'm sure we all together could figure it out
and help your memory along."

I was going down there and I was DEAD serious.
He knew that I knew he had almost committed
malpractice and his story was fishy so to speak.
He called me back and said he was really sorry
and that he didn't have the file and apologized
again and that I can't find anything because
there was nothing to find.

I could tell he had no clue. Then I fired him
and started to figure out the system and why
he had no clue. The hospital didn't even ask
him about the lost file. No one was doing
their job. I had to do it all for them. This
is an example like the lazy policeman of how
the system can do what it's not supposed to do.

I teach you how to deal with people like this in
the mental health system. I teach you how to get
your own information. I teach you how to
work around all these difficulties and turn
them into your favor.

Let me warn you. The mental health system
in general is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY
bad. You may be lucky and never have to
deal with bad people but many are bad.

Realize this today. Be warned so you don't
get discouraged or too mad.

Hey I just looked at the clock. I have to run.

=>PLEASE FORWARD TO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES <=

Hi,

How are you?

I hope you are going to have a
great day today.

I have a really important lesson about
bipolar disorder today.

I am going to the library today to
do some research. I am going to my third
favorite library because well I have to
get a new cell phone and it's by my
third favorite library.

It's such a pain because I am going to
be gone for a long time today so that
means I have to bring like 3 to 4 meals
with me and a whole bunch of water. I
also have to bring a blender.

You know when you head into the library with
a blender people think there is something
wrong with you :)

If you want to clear a room fast, come
in with a blender, water, a big cooler
and some napkins and well people will
move away. You will have lots of space.

I am happy to report however my new eating
plan is working out perfectly. I am perfectly
on tracking with gaining just the right amount
of weight each week.

Yesterday I was at my Godchild's
Christening.

I was talking to Rob her father.

It's funny when I talk to my friend Rob
who is Anna's father about how he is
doing.

He always says, "Other than the fact
that I haven't slept since the day Anna
was born and I feel like I am going to
collapse any day now and never wake up,
I am doing great."

Rob's a new father. When I talk to him
sometimes he sounds so tired. He once
said to me that he is sure that women
are stronger than men because he can
only do half of what is wife does and
she never looks like she is going to
collapse.

It really makes me laugh. His wife says
he exaggerates :)

I have a funny story. One day one
person in the gym who is younger said
"Hey Rob, what's it like to have a kid?
How did you know what to do? How did
you figure it all out?"

NOTE-This person in the gym asks a whole
lot of questions. Whole lot doesn't even
really describe how many. He asks tons.
He is like 23 or something. He has been asking
questions for years, and years and years.

Over the years he has asked for:

-Exact scripts to ask girls out. He asked every woman
who worked at the front desk of the gym for DETAILED
suggestions of what he should say to ask someone
out of a date. DETAILED. Like "write it down for
me I have a bad memory."

This is so funny, I have to tell you this story.
Once this person asked this girl and I quote:

"What kind of activities do you enjoy?"

The girl was like 20 years old. Who the heck
says this to someone that young? Who uses
the words "enjoy" with activities?

When I asked him why he said this he said he
got it from a book and he memorized various
scripts.

Anyway, when someone says no if he asks
them out, he would ask the girls at the front desk (at
the gym) why they thought the person said no. He would
rehash the entire story in as one girl words, "In so
much XXXXX detail it made me want to shoot myself." I had
to put XXXXX because the girl said bad words that
I can't type :)

-EXACTLY what a 401k is, how it works, why
it works, how to invest in them. He asked
one guy who did m.oney management for a complete
breakdown.

-How to buy a house from a to z (the person he
asked spent about 4 hours explaining it all to
him)

-How to get a good job

-How to save enough money for retirement in
great detail (he was looking for a comprehensive
a to z plan).

-Every mistake that I made in my life explained
so he would not make the same ones.

-The complete costs of having one kid, two kids
and three kids and if having more than one kid
saved money.

I could go on but you get the idea. He's an odd
person.

So before Anna was born, he went up to Rob and
said, "Hey dude, I heard you are having a kid."

Then he fired off questions like:

-How do you know how to have a kid
NOTE-Rob asked him if he attended health class
where they have the birds and the bees "talk."
I don't think this person wanted to know the
how but rather more of the how do you get
prepared :)

-How do you know much it's going to cost?

-Do you have a plan for being able to afford your baby?

-What are the best diapers to buy that are the most
effective but least expensive?

-How many kids are you going to have. How do
you figure out the right amount?

-What are you going to name her?

-Are names really important?

-How do you pick a name?

-Can you rename her after you already gave your baby a name
if you feel the name isn't that good?

-Who is going to watch her when you guys are working?

-How are you going to do to afford diapers?

-Will your dogs like your baby?

-What will you do if your dogs don't like your baby?

Etc.

I actually think he may have some kind of disorder
or something. He is just so darn strange. I already told
him he has a max limitation of ONE question with me
per day and that's it. He use to ask me like 40.

The final question he asked was the most funny:

"Do you think your life is over since you are having
a kid. I heard that from some people...Oh maybe I read
that in a magazine or saw it on TV." That's his words
not mine.

Rob looked like he was going to explode. He told
this person to stop asking questions.

And he said, "Look, I don't know. You just jump in
and we'll figure it all out. We will learn as we go.
Leave me alone!"

Then Rob said, "Dude your freaking me out. Get
away."

Then Rob made fun of him saying that he will never
have a girl friend because he'll never be able to
map it all out ahead time. He said, "you won't
have to worry about kids because you won't
be able to plan every single thing that goes
along with asking someone out which leads
to getting married which can lead to having
kids."

Rob said that if he thought it all through
and tried to figure it all out, he would never
had any kids and it can't work that way.

What's this have to do with bipolar disorder?

A lot.

The concept of just jump in works for bipolar disorder
as well.

There's no questions with bipolar disorder you are overwhelmed
with problems if you are a bipolar supporter. You have tons
of problems. There are tons of unanswered questions.

When I first started with my mom, there were TONS of problems.
I mean TONS.

In my courses/systems below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

You see the list of problems I had. Now here's the
thing I have a solution for virtually every problem
but here's the key thing.

I didn't come up with this all in one day. It took
almost a year. As a matter of fact we update the courses
all the time so it's always getting better and better.

When I started, I just jumped in and did what I could.
I fixed what problem that I could. I made lists of the
biggest problems. I tried to prioritize. I then
had to change the priorities as I learned more.

I had little successes. One was just listing
all my mom's bill on paper. That was a little
success. I felt great at least having all the bills
in one place and knowing the total amount.

I got her in the hospital. That was a bigger
success.

I discovered she needed a therapist. She needed
a new doctor. Those were all successes. It seems
like know big deal but remember at the time, I didn't
know there were good and bad doctors. I didn't know
she needed a therapist. I didn't know anything.

Each time I learned just the simplest things it
enabled me to build on it creating more and more
success.

The truth is, I just jumped in when I started. I didn't
have it all mapped out. I didn't have it all figured
out. You won't either probably.

You just have to jump in just like Rob tells me
when it comes to parenting. He says that he is
a better parent this week than last week. He
gets better and better but he never would have
been able to figure it all out in advance.

I didn't even know how to hold a baby when I first
saw Anna. Rob's wife said I held her like a football.
I didn't want to drop her. Then someone taught me
about the old put your elbow on the couch trick
and that made things much easier. Now I am an expert
at holding babies. Okay not really. But good. At
first I had no clue but I got better.

Remember this when you are dealing with all aspects
of bipolar disorder. It will be rough at first
but it will get better. You just have to jump in
and get started. Take action today.

If you are down today, think about my friend that
asks one million questions to anyone and everyone
this. That should make you laugh. The funny
thing is, he doesn't even know it's wrong
to do.

Hey, I have to run. Catch you tomorrow.

Your Friend,

Dave

Hi,

How's it going?

The other day I sent out an email
about my guide:

"Secrets to Making Fast Cash When Dealing
with Bipolar Disorder"

at:

http://www.bipolarcentral.com/bipolarfastcashsale

Tons of people responded to this special
offer that ends:

Monday, May 19, 2008 at 10:00pm EST

In addition, I had several people ask
me one specific question that I want
to issue a warning about.

They asked me if my guide talks about
Gifting Programs and if they are good
for generating money for bipolar disorder
issues.

The answer is a BIG NO. Gifting Programs
or clubs are a scam.

Period.

I know I am going to get flooded with
hate mail telling me that what I said
is not true or this certain gifting
program is totally legitimate.

Let me tell you. A gifting program is
a pyramid scheme and in The United States
and virtually every where in the world,
they are NOT and I repeat NOT legal.

Many people dealing with bipolar disorder
get caught up in these programs because
they look and sound good.

Everything in my guide is on the up and
up. I don't promote scams or illegal things.

Let me post something really quick from
the SEC's website which is a government regulatory
agency, about pyramid schemes:

"In the classic "pyramid" scheme, participants
attempt to make money solely by recruiting new
participants into the program. The hallmark of
these schemes is the promise of sky-high returns
in a short period of time for doing nothing other
than handing over your money and getting others
to do the same.

The fraudsters behind a pyramid scheme may go to
great lengths to make the program look like a
legitimate multi level marketing program. But
despite their claims to have legitimate products
or services to sell, these fraudsters simply use
money coming in from new recruits to pay off early
stage i.nvestors. But eventually the pyramid will
collapse. At some point the schemes get too big,
the promoter cannot raise enough money from new
investors to pay earlier investors, and many
people lose their money."

If you don't believe me go to google.com
run a search for "scam" and gifting club
and you'll see what I mean. Again
gifting programs or clubs are simply
illegal pyramid schemes.

My guide the "Secrets to Making Fast Cash When Dealing
with Bipolar Disorder" has nothing to do with
these types of things:

http://www.bipolarcentral.com/bipolarfastcashsale

Just be careful. I don't want you to get hurt
in something that is a scam.

Catch you tomorrow.

Hi,

How's it going?

I hope you are doing well.

I actually have to go to a Christening
today for my God daughter Anna.

So I have to get ready to go. I don't want to
be late. That wouldn't go over well J

I wanted to tell you something really
important today.

It's based on something that happen to me
the other day.

I was talking to someone who was using one
of my f.ree consultation certificates you
can find in my courses/systems below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

NOTE-

One of the f.ree bonus gifts with
all the courses is a certificate where
you can ask me any non medical and non
legal questions and I will call you on
the phone and go over your questions with
up to one hour of my time.

I even pay for the phone call.

Amway, the person basically had a whole long
list of NON medical questions for me.

Then before we hung up, the person tried to
slip in a medical question.

The person asked:

"What's the best medication for bipolar
disorder."

I have heard this hundreds of times personally.
In support groups, I must have heard this
asked thousands of times. It's like one
of the biggest questions on the planet
for bipolar disorder.

The person wasn't being mean or tricky
and I could tell sincerely wanted to know the answer
to this pressing question for them.

So I told them about how I wasn't a doctor
or therapist and can't offer medical or even
legal advice.

They were like, "yea, yea I know, but which
one can you say you have seen lots of folks
do well on?"

I said to them, here's the truth and what
I have found from seeing the people who
are my friends and work for me and researching
this topic. Not to mention asking lots of
doctors in the old days to same question.

It's different for everyone. I said
I don't know every medication that everyone
I know with bipolar takes but of the ones
that I do know--everyone takes a different
medication and is high functioning.

Then I went on to say. Here's what I can
tell you. Logically everyone is different.

What works for one person may not work
for another. What dose works for one person
may not work for another. There is no best
medication. The is no one pill for everyone.

There are lots of options for medication
and it comes down to which combination is
going to work the best.

Since I have been volunteering for a long time
in support groups, I have noticed that MANY people
ask the same question. "What's the best medication
people ask?"

I have heard in one meeting a person say medication
x is terrible. It did all these bad things
to a person. Then the next month, a different person
says the same medication works wonders. In each time,
people write down really fast the name and are either
excited or sad. I am shocked that so many support
groups actually allow people to talk about their
medication because 90% of what I hear is flawed.

So remember that everyone is different, what
works for one person may not work for another.
Each person in an individual. It's the good
doctor that can make the determination over time.

Here's a major theme in my courses and systems.

Your first goal is to get yourself or your loved
one with bipolar disorder to a good doctor
who know what the heck he/she is doing.

The good doctor then starts to determine
if you or your loved one really has bipolar
disorder.

Then they began to formulate a treatment plan
to get the person back to normal and stable.

Part of the treatment plan is medication.

There are lots of different types of medications
out there. There are lots of options.

A bad doctor has no clue and almost approaches
it like a lottery just kind of guessing.

As I understand it, the good doctor, can
guess better and faster what would work.

Ever meet a person who is good with
cars? Someone not like me who can't
even change a tire. This person can
figure out what's wrong with a car
REALLY quickly. It's like they have
magic powers. People like have no
clue, they get books and try to figure
it out guessing 99% of the time wrong
on what to do to fix a car.

It's the same with doctors. The same
thing. The good doctor get guess which
medication is going to work much quicker.

Also, if it's not working the doctor
knows faster and can get a person to
another possible medication or combination
right away to reduce the number of problems
that occur. Bad doctors don't do this.

They are just clue less, if you listen
to the success interviews in my courses/systems
you'll hear person after person talk about
the bad doctor for bipolar disorder and
how destructive he/she can be. My mom lost
decades of her life from bad doctors.

Now she has a great doctor. In one of
my f.ree bonus gifts for my courses you even
see EXACTLY how I found my mom's doctor, I
prove that I found her using this method and
how you can use the same exact method.

Finally I want to say something else about
medications.

Actually you know what, I have to go. I will
have to say that another day. Just stay on
my list and you'll hear the next part.

I don't mean to lead you on and not tell
you everything it's just that I have to
go and I CAN NOT BE LATE. No matter
what. I am actually planning on getting their
a full 30 minutes early because this is
very important.

Hey, I have to run. Have a great Sunday.

Your Friend,

Dave

=>PLEASE FORWARD TO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES <=

Hi,

How's it going?

I hope you are doing well.

A much better week last week.

I wanted to tell you something
interesting about how my friend Dan got
started in body building.

Don't worry this has something to do with
bipolar disorder :)

So I was talking to Dan. Dan is one of the
best body builders I know. He knows a ton.

So he was telling me and these are his
words, "I was a fat dumpy dude. One day I decided
that I was sick of being fat and dumpy. So I wanted
to get into shape and be big. I found a guy who
was in really good shape and competed. He taught
me a ton. I watched what he did and did what
he did. He was in my gym so I could just become
him by watching and doing."

After Dan told me this story, I was thinking about
bipolar disorder and how when I was trying to figure
out how to help my mom I was trying to find successful
bipolar supporters. I was trying to find successful
people with bipolar disorder. I never really could
in any meetings.

I remember there was this one woman. And I am very thankful
for what she did. Let met tell you what happen. I was
at a meeting volunteering (NOTE-I started volunteering before
I started this website).

Anyway I was trying to understand whether or not my mom should
go on disability, how you did it, etc.

Then all of a sudden at the end of a meeting I walked
by this woman and she look really sharp. She was talking
to another lady about disability and giving her the EXACT
steps of how to get it if you had bipolar disorder.

The steps were so clear. I remember asking. "Excuse me
sorry to listen in but I was wondering if I could
take notes."

This woman was super nice and said, "yes" of course.

So she explained all about disability and how to
figure it all out. She was a tremendous teacher.

I didn't realize the gift of having bipolar disorder.
She was the first person that I saw how a person
with bipolar disorder is super smart, super intelligent,
and when he/she is stable can take a complex problem
and break it down into very simple steps. That's
what she did.

I remember how excited I was to talk to her. She was excited
to talk to me. I told her how I was kind of discouraged
because I only met one successful person like herself
and many people in the meetings were just rambling.

She said, "yea, that's the way it goes." She went on
to say that her husband who is a bipolar supporter
hates the meetings and doesn't like to go and she
really doesn't either. She likes being around positive
people.

She gave me her number and said call anytime.

Guess what? The number fell out of my car and blew
way. How annoying.

Nevertheless...You know I am always telling you about how
smart, creative and intelligent those who
work for me that have one or more disorders
like bipolar disorder are.

Well it was amazing. As soon as two people got
back from vacation that amount of things accomplished
increased dramatially.

Always remember that you or your loved one with
bipolar disorder can become high functioning
and do well. Really well. No matter how
you or your loved one is doing right now.

One person who works for me has I think 8 different
disorders, has been married 5 times, homeless several
times, addicted to drugs/alcohol, and was told that
there was no hope and permantent instiution was the
only solution.

It's so odd as I write this because you would NEVER
know this had any disorder at all. Not one. And
this person gets so much done and does it so well
it's amazing.

I like to keep on reminding you of these types
of people because many people on my list feel
discouraged. Either they or their loved one's
aren't doing well.

One of the major reasons that my courses/systems
below have "success" interviews is so that people
can hear both successful bipolar supporters AND
success bipolar survivors.

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

I haven't really mentioned this in a while but
here was my goal with all the interviews.

It was to find the worst cases, the people who
had the WORST circumstances ,the people who
everyone said, "give up, there's no hope" and
those that turned it around and now are doing great.

Why did I want these types of people? 98% of people
will never have the struggles that my success interviews
have so they will be able to learn from these individuals
who were far worse off than they were.

They can model these individuals. This means they
can listen to what they are saying and doing and
start doing it themselves.

Modeling is really critical. The challenge with
modelling when you are dealing with bipolar diosrder
is that most people do not know anyone else who
is doing really well with bipolar disorder or as a
bipolar supporter.

I have two recommendations. Try to find people who
are successful dealing with bipolar disorder in your
particular circumstance and model them. Don't argue
and debate.

What do I mean by in your circumstance? Well if
you are a bipolar supporter, you are looking for
successful bipolar supporters like you.

If you have bipolar disorder your looking for successful
people with bipolar disorer to model like you.

Make sense? Modeling is a powerful 8 letter
word for bipolar success.

Dave

Your Friend,

Dave
=>PLEASE FORWARD TO FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES <=

Hey,

How's it going?

Happy Thursday. I hope you have a great
day.

On Sunday, I had a post on my blog before
I stopped all postings on my blog because
people were writing crazy posts. NOT the
woman below but other people.

I wanted to address a few things that this
person named "Dyeann" posted on my blog
because others have the same types of questions
so I figured I would send what I posted back.

She essentially said a few major points:

1. I was shaming my mother using her story
on my websites.

2. I was not being honest about the importance
of medication and bipolar disorder. That I was
over exaggerating.

So I posted back to her:

"To Dyeann,

I would like to say one other thing in reference to
the comment by dyeann:

"I find it in pretty poor taste, and sadly humiliating
and shaming of your mother."

Actually Dyeann my mom has given me permission
on I believe 8 different occasions to use her story,
print the whole truth and educate people about the
realities of what happens with bipolar disorder.
Before I started this, I had my mom sign an agreement
and had her do so for several months afterwards.
She has read virtually EVERYTHING that I have written.

She is not going to be writing stuff on the internet
anytime soon. Why? She doesn't have the time or the
desire. She is busy.

My mom feels (I am sure you think I am making this up :)),
that if she was given truthful information about
bipolar disorder she would not have wasted years
and years of her life.

My mom feels that we could all make up stuff,
lie for years, about what happens with bipolar disorder
and sugar coat what really happens and basically have
a situation where people get mislead for half if not
all their lives. But she feels this is wrong. This
is what happen to her. This is what happens to
MILLIONS of people everyday. They are not told the
truth about bipolar disorder.

Why do you think the suicide rate is so high? Many
say 20%.

With that said, I think I may even post the agreements
that I have signed from my mom to use her story and to
freely talk about what happen. Yes, I have gotten that
and gotten every year since I started. In addition
both her doctor and therapist are okay with my entire
website and feel that it society.

I would say every couple of months I get the "Dave you
are really mean, I can't believe you take advantage of
your mom, you?re a terrible person, shame on you,
you're going to hell, etc.) I've been doing this for
a while. I heard ever possible statement.

Finally, I find that there are people that want to go
to the end of the earth to tell people with bipolar disorder
things that are NOT best practices. Taking medication
is best practices.

I look at it this way. If someone in high school said
"can you give me the best practices or things most likely
to lead to business and personal success?" Imagine this
person continued to say, "should I drop out of school,
do drugs, drink all the time, hang out on the beach and
then try to become a successful in a career and personally?"
"Or should I stay in school, not take drugs, not drink all
the time, go to college, set goals, etc."

I am sure you can guess what I would tell the person,
the second path. BUT, you can find people who did the
first path and did eventually become a success. But is
it likely? The answer is no. So I promote things that
are highly probable to help a person with
bipolar disorder--that equals finding a great doctor,
taking the medication as prescribed, and following a proper
treatment plan.

I am sure we find people who do everything possibly
wrong and do great. I never find them but I am sure a
few of them exist. There are people on my list that
swear that doing illegal drugs every single day is good
for you.

As I write this, I think of the few remaining people
that I know who smoke cigarettes. Each will cite that
they know one person who smoke 10 packs a day for 50 years
and lived over 100. I laugh when I hear this because
obviously smoking leads to early death. Even though die
hard smokers want to tell you how it doesn't, they want
to tell you about that one person, they want to tell
you about the statistical outlier--the person who
deviates from the norm. They all know people who
smoke tons and live a long time. They want to talk
about the smoking urban legend--the one who smokes
all the time for decades and is in great health.

You probably aren't going to like my newsletter
because I am not going to tell you what you want
to hear. That's not my job and that's not my goal.

It's comforting to know some like what I say with
all the errors you mention because I now have over
220,000 sign ups and I believe over 7,000 testimonials.

You are right, I could spend more time on the newsletter.
I could spend hours on it a day but I have a long list of
things to do and I committed so spending no more than 1
hour per day 365 days a year to the newsletter. I can't
do any more when it comes to the newsletter. Sorry.

Enjoy your day."

I think that not only does Dyeann have these questions but
others do as well. That's why I sent out my reply.

You will find that in every case a person was
doing poorly with bipolar disorder, many times
for YEARS and medication was the thing that
started to get them back into society.

Story after story. Get my courses/systems
and listen for yourself. I don't make this stuff
up. You can hear with your own ears.

I have people that work for me that didn't
take medication seriously or consistently
and for DECADES and attempted suicide up to
8 times, were homeless, bankrupt, married
up to 5 times, lost all their friends and many
family members. I could go on and on but
you get the idea.

The reason why I talk about medication and
bipolar disorder is because it works. I don't talk
about stuff that I haven't seen work.

I don't even understand why there is a debate.
There is no debate.

The sad fact is, people who get off their
medication THINK they are fine many times.
The problem is they are not.

The other day, I spoke to a woman who said
that I broke into her house, stole her information
and ordered stuff and sent it to her. She really
believe that it was true. It took me 1 hour
to convince her it was impossible. She was NOT
on medication. She thought however she was totally
fine.

Remember bipolar disorder is a mental illness
a mood disorder and a person can think they are
fine when they aren't even close to being stable.

Remember that.

Finally I will say, I have spoke to many people
who decided to get off medication who do fine for
a short time and then slowly get worse and then
eventually they crash.

In my head I can think of so many people that called
and mocked me saying, "I am okay, you have no
clue." Then I found out these people lost everything
in less than a year.

I don't make this stuff up. Get my courses and you'll
hear the same thing.

But in my courses/systems not only do you hear about
how you need medication you'll hear that there are many
other things that go along with living with bipolar
disorder yourself or being a good supporter. There's a
bunch to learn. Unfortunately most people learn the
hard way. Smart people learn the easier way. They
learn from others.

Your Friend,

Dave
