Who is Shitake Monkey? Shitake Monkey is the collaborative effort of former Sony Music Studio producers Johnny Rodeo, Baby Peanits (aka Electric Pete), and Chuck Brody. Hailing from Texas and northern New Jersey, the three met while working at Sony. There, they took part in producing music for a wide variety of artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Natasha Bedingfield, Lindsay Lohan, Northern State, The Changes, Monsters are Waiting, The Glass, Spank rock and Yoko Ono as well as engineering and mixing for Wu-Tang, Michael Jackson, and Brian McKnight. They even took on the special role of providing backup vocals for Mya on her smash hit “Let’s Dance.”
