Heriot-Watt University, along with all of Lothian's universities and colleges has signed an agreement to provide mutual support and shared resources in the event of a major emergency.

Dame Vivienne Westwood was awarded the degree of Doctor of Letters by Heriot-Watt University at a ceremony in Galashiels.
