The blog, "Best Flash Websites" will feature...well, just that, the best Flash websites. The idea behind this blog is to portrait the best work around the world, not just the big Flash website design companies such as 2advanced but those little portfolios of unknown but talented designers. So, stay tuned for the best flash websites of all over the world!
The launch of the new Flash CS4 (and the rest of the creative suite) brings to mind the special demo they did for the CS3 launch. This was made using just Adobe products, keep that in mind, no 3D software here! So everything was done using just Photoshop, After Effects and Flash. Truly amazing and unbelivable!
That pretty much sums my life for the last 6 months, and, oh my god, it looks as it will go on. As you can imagine I haven't had much time to look around for nice inspirational Flash sites...BUT I made a little time for myself, and this is what I found out:
Let your worries go...no, really, you should, but it is also the name of a beautiful website. Although it's just a viral marketing site it stands out of the crowd for:
a- Beautiful Design.
b- Great Action Scripting.
c- Perfect use of video and well done Matte.
d- Nice Parallax effect.
So, enjoy it as I did...one more for my best flash website list.
Ok, I know I haven't post in a while but I've got A LOT of work lately. Another reason for this lack of posts was I wasn't able find a website which really impressed me....luckily I came across brazilian/swedish artist Simone Moreno's site. Beautiful design, simple but effective Action Scripting and nice picture treatment for the galleries. Only thing I would change would be the small space and readability of the text, but it's a beautiful flash website anyway, good work
This must be the most amazing piece of Flash work I've seen in years. Red Interactive is a US multimedia agency with offices in Los Angeles and Salt Lake City. Its portfolio includes some big names such as National Geographic, HBO, Sony Pictures, Warner Brothers and the NFL.
During the visit to their site you can choose to particpate in the flash-based chat "room", or should I say "world". To do so you have to customize your character and then start interacting with the whole flash universe made around the site. You can walk, fly, run, dance, fight (ctrl+shift) and of course talk to other users, interactivity at its most! An amazing use of flash and a beautiful design make this site a must visit, these guys have started a new revolution.
Lumus is a design company based in the united kingdom which has worked for Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and the BBC. I really liked the mystic of their portfolio, some kind of new happy planet which added to an easy listening backgound creates a nice mood.
This Brazilian website designed for Coca-Cola's energy drink Burn shows us sometime less is more. Although the design is quite static (only text changes until you go to see pics of the parties) the mood is settled from the start with a nice little intro featuring the bottle and great graphic design. This website reflects exactly what the product is about: night, party and energy....well done.
This must be one of the most original and amazing navigations ever done with Flash software. It took me only 3 seconds to load and I was completely blown away by the action script work which allowed such a magnificient 3D navigation in such a fast loading website.
Although I loved this apect I felt like the rest of the site wasn't up to the level of the menu, I expected something else. Anyway, I'm still amazed.
Andreas Burz is a german photographer who has worked for Porsche, Audi and Mercedes Benz among other big names of the automotive industry. Of course his work is not "just taking pictures of cars" and he shows off his work in this beautiful portfolio designed by Group94. Again, the belgium based web design company delivers a crisp, clean and easy to navigate site. Congratz.
Stranger than Fiction is an amazing movie, nice plot, good acting and some nice motion media graphics. The minimalistic website with almost no text but videoblogs fits perfect and proves you don't need overwhelming graphics in order to have a nice website design.
Metropolis is an outdoor Polish company with a very nice collage-style website inspired in the 20's. Nice action script work and a semi-originial navigation.
The reason I am posting this site is not just because it's "informative" and has nice video interaction, but it's also very funny. It also features some fun, child oriented flash animations to explain what is this all about out. Well done, keep it up Sprint Nextel.
Brazilian Advertising has grown very quickly in the last years and we can see a lot of creatives working in american agencies or receiving prices in Cannes. It's nice to know they are doing good in web design too. The website design for Primus beer is very simple and nice, it features easy navigation and interactive video. Best of all: loads fast. Check it out (portuguese language).
The second classic of Flash web design. Neostream is (was?) a multimedia company which developed one of the most memorable sites ever. I believe this web site was uploaded sometime between 2003-2004 and is still up to date. A Lot of 3D, special effects, and of course, Flash animation make this site a must see. Cons: takes too much time to download (but its worth it).
If Flash revolutionized the web, these guys revolutionized web design and interactivity. An amazing portfolio were you will find the biggest names: Ford, Motorola, AOL, Bacardi, ESPN, Electronic Arts, Fox, Oakley, Nintendo, you name it...
2Advanced is the biggest web design studio in the world, and has been as long as I remember.
The guys in charge of this website were smart enough to realize the divas were the photographs and not the website. What we have here is a simple design, not too much going on, but stunning pictures. Mr. Lyndon Wade, you have a new fan.
I came across this site while visitng a chinese Flash reviews site a couple of years ago. Although it's quite an old site (2003 maybe) I was amazed by the atmosphere of the design and music. I must admit I didn't understood much (site is in Spanish) but I was able to figure out it was designed for a uruguayan Hard Rock band. Visit it while still online
Oringe is a web design company based in Los Angeles. Although their work doesn't stand out much their own company website does. An amazing and intuitive interface a simple design and an excelent action script coding makes this website glow.

For those who don't know what Flash is. Flashwas invented by a small software studio and later purchased by Macromedia, who turned it hugh and revolutionized what today we know as the internet and animation interactivity. To be able to view Flah websites you need the flash player, which can be found in 94% of the computers around the world. Last year Flash was purchased by Adobe and this is the description from their own site:
What is Flash CS3 Professional?
Adobe® Flash® CS3 Professional software is the most advanced authoring environment for creating rich, interactive content for digital, web, and mobile platforms. Create interactive websites, rich media advertisements, instructional media, engaging presentations, games, and more. Designers and developers working on both Macintosh and Windows® systems depend on Flash and the ubiquitous Adobe Flash Player software to ensure their content reaches the widest possible audience.
