Gay Sci-Fi Nerds (GSFN) Podcast Show
Skip (the real nerdy one) and his partner Drew (the funny one who dabbles in nerdness) present the Gay Sci-Fi Nerds podcast show featuring irreverent chat and cult/sci-fi news with a gay twist of lime for nerds everywhere.

WhatSkip and Drew celebrate 16 years of ‘knowing’ each other with show 22. And what a way to relaunch the podcast, by downing Absinthe and testing out GarageBand on Skip’s new MacBook Pro. This show is all about Iron Man which Skip and Drew review for your pleasure, after seeing it on the opening night, at that fine cinematic experience by the sea establishment, The Apollo Paignton.

Find out what we think about Robert Downey Jr as he dons the Iron Man suit, battling his company, alcohol and the shadowy terrorist group know as the Ten Rings. Drew remarks on Cate Blanchett’s remarkable performance as Virginia ‘Pepper’ Potts and Art Malik’s role as ‘Yet another Arab Terrorist’ (YAAT).

DrewThis podcast was recorded under the influence of Absinthe and as such your hosts Skip and Drew cannot be held accountable for the inane banter that ensues.

Drew, with Skip finally recovering his sense of humour discuss the films they have seen since the last show was recorded in July 2007. Most of them you’ll have already seen, but that doesn’t stop your hosts from having a good old bitch!

We find out what the top movie weapon as voted for in a poll of 2,000 film buffs and we also discuss what was been predicted as the 50 biggest movies of 2008 according to the Times Online. Surprisingly just under half features sci-fi/cult genre films with the top five dominating the list.

We also end the show on a sombre note as we lose two big entertainment stars.

CaptainSkip and Drew tell it like it is after watching Nick Cage in Ghost Rider and present a very special edition of the Gay Sci-Fi Nerds podcast show.

That’s right, Skip and Drew are counting down the entire top 20 sci-fi shows that shaped TV starting right back at the beginning with number 20. This time however each one is going to have a gay fact, rather than the usual sycophantic fan ramblings that you might usually hear – not that your hosts are not fans, they just don’t dress up in Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Spock pyjama uniforms.

Will you agree with them, do you know any glaring gay facts that Skip and Drew missed? Find out in the GSFN Show: 012 – Special Edition…

  • Twin Peaks :: Twin Peaks Tavern in San Francisco, CA, USA.
  • Lost :: Lost is actually named after the state of mind one finds themself in when watching the TV comedy LOST.
  • Doctor Who :: The evolving guide to Lesbian/Gay/Bisexual moments in Doctor Who.
  • Incredible Hulk :: Tyler Lang and Jefferson Wolf.
  • Star Trek :: LGBT characters in the Star Trek universe.

WankerSkip and Drew talk bollocks as always as we lust over Craig Daniel’s new Bondage role in Casino Royale, Pick a string with Tenacious D and cook up a bit of paella with Pan’s Labyrinth. The show also has a musical feel as Drew explores his spiritual side with the Sing-a-long Sounds of Music and what we thought of The Beautiful South.

News this week includes a death scene for Harry Potter, not much furry loving for Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema in The Hobbit. Linda pulls out her aunt’s pen once more in Supernatural and Xena Warrior Princess star Lucy Lawless taking Xena’s voice to new projects. We also have a surprise Wanker of the Week.

Finally Drew and I would like to wish all our listeners a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

GayWelcome to the first GSFN podcast. In this show we’re going to pay a bit of a homage homage to Star Wars, so if George Lucas can start a successful franchise on episode IV, so can we.

There’s also plenty of sci-fi news including the discovery of the fabled Fountain of Youth and sadly some cancelled shows. These along with what we thought of Snakes on a Plane when we saw it this week.
