The MacBook Air does not even compare to other notebook computers - it is so much better! It is so thin - it's nearly invisible. Weighing in at only 3 pounds, it is so sleek and portable that you really can take it everywhere you go without a hassle. Built for wireless with 802.11n Wi-Fi and a 13.3 inch screen - for its size, the MacBook Air is still a very powerful business tool. Like the touch technology built into the Apple iPhone and the iPod Touch, this notebook computer is equipped with a multi-touch trackpad that, according to Apple's website, lets you "pinch, swipe or rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image". Another very cool and useful feature is the built-in iSight Camera - which is so easy to use that, combined with the iChat software, makes video chatting easy - at home or on the go. Imagine being able to whip out your notebook and have a conference on the fly - it's so easy! If any of you have gotten your hands on the new MacBook Air - please post a comment to tell us what you think of your new notebook computer. We'd love to hear how all of the new features make the MacBook Air innovative and different from everything else out there! The new iPhone is expected to have a different look and 3G technology, as promised. The buzz on technology blogs is that the next Apple iPhone will launch sometime during the second half of the year, but that the company will placate waiting consumers with a smaller upgrade with more flash memory earlier in the year. Wooo-Hoooo! Although I'd be mad if I bought mine in the early half of the year and then a new fancy one came out for the same price. Apple is also set to refresh its entire Mac line in 2008, as well as make updates to Apple TV. I guess we'll see what happens! How many of you are holding out on buying the iPhone until the next one comes out in 2008? Post a comment to let us know! Apple's website announced a new Google web application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. "Get the answer you’re looking for – fast. We’ll also make sure that pages are formatted appropriately for your iPhone. Local listings at your fingertips. Search and locate everything from restaurants to a local dry cleaner. What’s New in this Version- The new Google experience is integrated to make it quick and easy for you to find, use and switch between Google’s mobile applications including Google Search, Gmail, Calendar, Reader and more." If you have an iPhone or an iPod Touch, this will definitely make your life easier. Click here for more details! AT&T has confirmed there will be a new 3G model of the Apple iPhone coming soon! This is very exciting because, as if the iPhone weren't already cool enough, it is now being upgraded with 3G technology (third generation wireless networks) - which can download files and websites from the internet at a much faster rate than the existing iPhone. It is supposed to come out in 2008, so if you have been thinking about buying an iPhone - you may want to wait just a while for this model. This new upgrade is as a result of Apple's goal of selling 10 million iPhones in 2008. You think they can meet that goal? Are you planning on buying an iPhone? Post a comment to let us know! There's this new movie called 'Purple Violets' that is sort of a dramatic comedy that was written, directed, and produced by independent filmmaker Ed Burns. I watched it this weekend - and it was great! It is the first feature film to premiere exclusively on iTunes - which I think is amazing. It stars Selma Blair, Debra Messing, Patrick Wilson, and Ed Burns. You can download it for $12.99 and Apple says you can "play it on Apple TV, watch it in iTunes on a Mac or PC, or enjoy it “to go” on iPod or iPhone". I personally watched it on my iPod while I was at a relative's house for the Thanksgiving weekend to keep myself occupied. Here is the trailer for Purple Violets - Enjoy! If you've watched the movie, post a comment and let me know what you thought about it. If you haven't yet, you should definitely try the movie downloads from iTunes that are available. I recently had a 5 hour car ride with my daughters and they watched Ratatouille and a few other kids movies from my iPod. We don't have a dvd player in our car yet, so it was the next best thing! If you need a few suggestions on where to start, the Top 10 Movie downloads from iTunes this week are: 1. Ratatouille 2. Jackass 2 3. An Inconvenient Truth 4. Meet The Robinsons 5. Wild Hogs 6. We Were Soldiers 7. Zoolander 8. The Princess Bride 9. Mean Girls 10. The Invisible What are you downloading on your iPod? Post a comment to let us know! It looks like Apple and Starbucks are partnering up to offer access to iTunes via free wireless internet in select Starbucks locations all over the San Francisco Bay area. Of course, the free wireless interent only applies to people accessing iTunes - if you are surfing the internet, you are still going to have to use the pay service offered by the T-Mobile network. The cool thing is, every Starbucks is configured separately so that the song playing through the store's speakers is the same song that appears on the front page of the user's iTunes. I think that is very innovative. An article I read said that Apple and Starbucks have been talking about this for at least three years, because Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, continues to push iTunes as a mainstream music source. It seems like the perfect combination since music is a large part of Starbuck's business. They have been offering CD's for purchase at the register for quite some time now. The article pointed out that Starbucks just sold 24,000 copies of Feist's new CD which includes a cute song called ' 1 2 3 4 ' - and it was a song that was used in one of Apple's iPod commercials recently. Nothing that I have heard so far seems to indicate this program will be rolled out nationwide - but if any of you hear any differently - please post a comment to let us know! I found Time's 'Best Inventions of the Year' list online today, and of course the iPod Touch and Apple iPhone top the list. Aside from the iPod Touch having the normal iTunes capabilities, this Apple iPod, a lot like the iPhone, has built-in wi-fi that lets you get online while on the go. It boasts a 3.5 inch wide screen with the patented touch feature that lets you immediately download iTunes music with your fingertips. These are both very cool inventions. As far as portable music players go, also on the list was: The Creative Zen Zone Plus, a 2GB matchbox-sized mp3 player that holds about 500 songs. The Samsung P2, a music player for mp3 and wma files with a 3 inch screen for viewing videos. It has Bluetooth capabilities so you can beam music to Bluetooth speakers or headset and pretty soon should have the ability to take calls from a Bluetooth cell phone. You can see the rest of the 'Best Inventions of the Year' here. There are some very interesting gadgets to see. Don't forget to register for your free iPod at iPodSweepstakes where you can get a free iPod Touch or a free iPhone. Good luck! I've been keeping an eye on the series of new iPhone Commercials because I like how they demonstrate what you can do with the Apple iPhone. But what I was noticing about the tv commercials instead is that the majority (so far all but one) are all geared toward men. I did finally see one that Apple calls 'The Winger' about a female ballet dancer who uses her iPhone to multi-task. Now, I'm not saying that Apple is being sexist, but maybe they are unaware of how attached women get to their cell phones. We need more advertising for the Apple iPhone that is targeted toward us! I get that these commercials are all from real people who submitted stories about why they like their iPhones so much, but there had to be more than just one woman! And all I am saying is that if Apple would pay attention, they would see how much women care about their phones. For example, a man will buy a plain old phone, the basic accessories, and the cheapest case he can find. Quite the opposite, a woman will go out of her way and pay more for a pink phone, accessorize the hell out of it with rhinestones and glitter, and then sport it like it's a pair of earrings. Maybe I'm the only one who feels like this though. You can go one and watch them all yourself on the Apple iPhone website. Why don't you tell us what you think? Feel free to post a comment and let us know! Apple iTunes is expanding its educational section, iTunes U. iTunes users can now access a section called "Beyond Campus" with educational materials, which will include audio content from KQED, The Writer's Almanac, and more.
Previously, iTunes U only offered content from colleges and universities. Now you can download audio, printable transcripts, and teachers or professors can get suggestion points for classroom discussion. American Public Media will also be offering content on iTunes U. They have been working on making its radio programming available for free for educational purposes. Sarah Lutman, the Senior Vice President of Content and Media at American Public Media, said that "iTunes U will be a powerful gateway to the dynamic supplemental web content that accompanies our signature programs". All of these exciting offerings from Apple is making the iPod community a very well-rounded audience. From downloadable tv shows, movies, music, books, and now educational materials, there is nothing you can't get your hands on from iTunes. If you haven't gotten an iPod yet, you can get one free from iPodSweepstakes. Register today for your chance to win! I bet there are things about your Apple iPhone that you didn't know! While snooping around in a few iPhone forums, I found out some very interesting facts that I wanted to share with you.
The first thing is that Apple has a patent on their touch screen display. I think their idea is very cool, but was unaware that it needed a patent. The iPhone is the only electronic device where you can stretch things, shrink things, and move items on the screen with your index finger and thumb. Who knew? The second cool thing I found out is the iPhone is only able to be used by humans. This cracked me up! It is a fact that the iPhone only recognizes human skin on the screen. So if you are irresponsible with your phone and leave it on the floor, and if by chance your pet happens to step on it, they can't make a phone call. Last but not least - and I was very surprised by this - the iPhone is not equipped with G.P.S. Google Maps works really well on the phone, but just like on a regular computer, you do have to enter a starting point. From what I read, Apple is supposed to change this with the next version of the phone, however. So, there you have it. I personally do not own an iPhone, so if there are other interesting facts that you found out about them - particularly if you own one - please feel free to comment and let us know what they are! Also, you can check out our website at http://www.ipodsweepstakes.com/ to win a free iPod! With the improvements made to the new Apple iPod Nano, it is easily the best mp3 player for the price. It is now video capable, and has the split screen which shows album covers for the highlighted songs and a now playing screen on the other side. This is something Apple had to do because, as you can see from the iTunes Store, it has a serious commitment to movies and tv show downloads. The dimensions of the iPod Nano have changed - it is now 2.8 by 2.1 inches - so it is wider. Some people may not like the look of the new Nano, but you have to hold it in your hand to see that it's really a step in the right direction. The wider screen makes it perfect for the viewing the videos for iPod that you can download. And it is still very small. It comes in a 4GB version and an 8GB version - both of which have a 2-inch LCD screen that you can watch video in either full or wide screen. Of the many iPod accessories, you should definitely go ahead an upgrade the headphones from the ones you get with your purchase. You will have a better experience with your new iPod Nano if you do. Do any of you have the new Nano with video? If so, what do you think? Feel free to leave your comments to tell us what you love (or hate) about the new generation of iPod! Win a free iPod at www.iPodSweepstakes.com I read an article recently that discussed the role that music can play in a person's brain health. Researchers at Stanford found that music enhances the way the human brain processes the spoken word. Overall, it is apparent that music is good for your brain, and that kind of brain stimulation can make you smarter. You might have also heard that listening to classical music can improve your memory. What these researchers say is that the main thing that makes music beneficial to your brain is order. It makes both sides of your brain process information simultaneously, and that it ultimately makes the brain operate more efficiently. Some famous classical music is still popular today. Songs by both Bach and Mozart are easily recongizable and they are definitely among the favorite composers. With the iPod shuffle, you can stimulate your brain anywhere you go! Why not add a few classical songs to your iTunes library today? If you don't have an iPod shuffle, you can register to win one at www.iPodSweepstates.com. I think we can all stand to improve our memory - we aren't getting any younger! The newest version of the iPod is finally here! To those of us who do not have an iPod but are currently in the market for one, now is the time to get yours! To those of you who bought an iPod before the upgraded version was released, well...sell yours on ebay and get a new one.
The hottest and most awaited iPod for 2007 is the iPod Touch. There is an 8GB, and has YouTube and Internet access with a Wi-Fi web browser, and holds up to 1,750 songs and up to 10 hours of video! This version looks very similar to the Apple iPhone, but without the phone and camera. The 16GB version holds up to 3,500 songs and 20 hours of video. You just flick or tap the multi-touch display screen, and you have instant access to your library. It is definitely better for watching movies and videos than the classic iPod video due to the enlarged screen. Still available are the iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, and the classic 80GB iPod video versions - now at lower price points than before. Apple also now offers the 160GB iPod video - that is MEGA MEMORY for a portable music player! This bad boy holds up to 40,000 songs and 200 hours of video! Unbelievable! But since the least expensive iPod you can get is in the $80 range, they are definitely NOT cheap! How about a FREE iPod? No - it's not a joke. It's for real. To get a free iPod shuffle of your own, just visit http://www.ipodsweepstakes.com/. It's too easy not to! Have you noticed that most people refer to Apple's brand new combo cell phone, iPod, internet browser, and email device as the iPhone. When you have your handy little device out and are flicking through your contact list and casually walk past a pedestrian, it's never just "Oh, you have an iPhone?" Nope. It's always the iPhone. That sociological proof alone stands testament to the fact that this is not just another phone, it is the phone. This three-letter word that is placed infront of iPhone ever so often puts it up on a "pedestal", if you will. It makes this revolutionary product something to be admired, something to be desired, something to wait for, obsess over, and eventually spend $600 on.
Now, mind you, all this hype began even before it came out. Right after Macworld in January, the anticipation mounted and people began "worshipping" the iPhone. Never before had a piece of vaporware[1] drawn so much attention. In the months before its release, the iPhone had a total of over 11,000 articles written about it. Nice free press, eh? Now, let's get to the serious details. Finally, after six long months of waiting, the iPhone was released on June 29, 2007 at most AT&T and Apple stores across the country. After aproximately 1,000,000 iPhones were sold, (Just a guess. Estimates point to a number above 600k.) a poll was taken among iPhone users. The results indicated that 90% of owners are completely satisfied with their purchase. The numbers truly do speak for themselves in this case. Thousands of news articles, blog entries, reviews, and speeches about the iPhone have all contributed to its success. However, the main contributor to the leap ahead of the competition that Apple took after the release of this product is the sheer satisfaction of its users. The most successful product launch in history has resulted in...not just another phone, not a new iPod, not simply a mini-computer. It has brought about something much greater. The iPhone. [1] a product that has not yet been released, usually full specs have not been released either. I had been at the gym and had been in the kitchen gulping down water, my own iPod nestled in an after market case clipped dutifully to my running shorts. It was still playing my workout playlist that allowed me to forget that I was running, which I hated, and motivated me to think about more pleasant things.
She set it down gingerly, as if the box itself may break if jostled enough. I guess that she had taken that cue from how diligently my sister and I handled our own iPods. As capable as the gadgets are, we were so attached to them as a regular fixture in our lives that should we break them, our daily routine would be severely interrupted if we had to go for a while without them. I smiled at this gesture and pulled the ear buds out and greeted her. I asked her, “That it? You finally got one, huh?” She nodded while glancing back at it. I could tell that she was excited but she put on an air of dismissal in order to hide it. She began putting away some groceries that she had also bought during her outing and I sat down at the table. When I grabbed for the box, she hurriedly scurried across the kitchen to playfully swat my hand. “You have your own. Don’t mess with mine!” she exclaimed. I knew that she was only half serious. Mom was not the most tech-savvy person in the world. While I knew that she would be adept at the iPod and associated Apple music software, iTunes shortly, she would most certainly ask me or my sister or both for help in getting her up-to-speed. I offered my help right away. “Go get your laptop so we can get this thing going for you. You didn’t buy it just to look pretty on the kitchen table, did you?” I could swear that she skipped off to her home office to fetch her laptop in the excitement and I thought back to how it came to be that mom had decided to purchase her first iPod. My sister and I were in high school and so had received our 2nd generation iPod Nano’s just this past Christmas. We both had larger versions of the iPod from the year before but had each asked for the Nano as a present this year because we knew that the tiny mp3 player would come in handy for us: me at the gym and Sara when she rode her bike. Mom had always expressed some curiosity in the device. What she was mainly interested in was how such a small gadget could hold so much without any visible means of media. No cassettes, no compact discs; just a USB cord to plug into the laptop. Mom was also an avid fan of books on compact disc and since we received our first iPods, we teased her a bit about lugging around a bulky personal CD player and several compact discs every time she wanted to take her collection with her. It was then that she sparked an interest in getting her own iPod. She also opted for the 4 gigabyte Nano, just as we had received for Christmas. When she came back, we loaded the accompanying CD for iTunes into the drive and let it install. I showed her how iTunes automatically checks for updates and within a few minutes her laptop was all set to accept her iPod. We plugged it in so it could charge and began importing some of her songs that she already had on her computer into iTunes. Mom was ecstatic at how intuitive the Apple software seemed to be and was even taking over the keyboard when it came time to upload some of her books on compact disc. She even remarked that she could use the bulky, scratched discs for coasters now that she had gone “completely digital.” After just a little while of this, I assisted her in creating playlists, setting her preferences, and rating her music. In under half an hour, she was already an old pro. That was only a month ago and not a day goes by when I don’t have to tap mom’s shoulder to get her attention because she’s listening to yet another audible book on her iPod Nano. Since she listens to them in the car and while she exercises, she’s going through them at a rate of about one every five days or so. Mom is already talking about purchasing an 80 gigabyte iPod and even a Mac because she loves the usability so much. I’m even surprised at just how fast Apple has made such a fan out of my once technically-inept mother. Get your own free iPod at iPodSweepstakes.com today! Mary 6/1/07 winner

Thank you very much!" Well, for one, it doesn’t get any smaller than this. The Apple iPod shuffle is extremely light and manageable. Measuring at a length of 1.62 inches long, and weighing a mere half of an ounce, the shuffle can go with you anywhere without becoming a hassle. Despite its small stature, however, a shuffle contains 1GB of memory, which allows it to hold up to 240 songs! It is unbelievable that something so small can hold so much music! Although a Video iPod can hold movies, games and photos, those features tend to go to waste for music lovers who are purely looking for an easy-to-use portable music player. Because of its convenient size and simplicity, the iPod Shuffle is a perfect device to use when you are on the go. The clip on its back allows you to clip it onto anything at anytime! Whether you are walking the dog, working out at the gym, bike riding at the park, hiking outdoors, or even walking around the mall, the shuffle is designed to suit you wherever you are! You can clip it to your pant pocket, your belt loop, your purse, your backpack, or any other place you prefer, without it weighing you down. In addition to its mobility, the shuffle’s battery life was built to last up to 12 continuous hours; therefore, no matter what activity you are doing, you will never have to worry about the music stopping! As long as you are on the go, your shuffle will continue to play for as long as you need it to. One of the best parts about the shuffle is it was designed in such a way for you to decide if you want to hide it, or show it off. Whether you decide you want it in silver, pink, green, blue, or orange, you can pick your favorite color and show it off to the world, or simply clip it to your pants underneath your shirt if you don’t want it to be seen. Whether it be a fashion statement, or merely there to serve its purpose, the iPod shuffle can suit anyone and everyone’s needs. To get a free iPod shuffle of your own, just visit http://www.iPodSweepstakes.com. Welcome everyone to http://www.ipodsweepstakes.com/! My name is Lauren and I'm an employee for http://www.ipodsweepstakes.com/. I wanted to create this blog to benefit the members of the site, and to address any questions or concerns anyone may have; I hope you will find my posts both helpful and useful.
First let me start off by explaining how iPodSweepstakes.com works. iPodSweepstakes.com is a site where members can win a free iPod Shuffle just by joining. After you are already a member, all you have to do is simply click on one advertisement on the iPodSweepstakes.com website and you are automatically entered into the daily sweepstakes to win the iPod Shuffle. Did I mention there is a winner every single day? :) Aside from winning the iPod Shuffle, you can also earn prizes like a $75 iTunes gift card, an iPod Shuffle, an iPod Nano, or even an iPod Video without spending a dime. The site has been successfully running for over 2 years now, and has given away more than 3,000 iPods for free! iPodSweepstakes.com has attracted more than 3 million loyal members who continue to participate on the site because of their assured success. The site accommodates its members by giving them a variety of ways to earn Pod Points with the click of a mouse. Just by becoming a member, you receive 200 Pod Points, and you can earn more Pod Points by clicking on links to advertisements and completing free offers found on the iPodSweepstakes.com website, as well as within emails sent to you from iPodSweepstakes.com. You can also earn more Pod Points by referring your friends to the site. You will receive your iPod Shuffle or $75 iTunes gift card by earning 1,000 Pod Points, an iPod Nano by earning 2,000 Pod Points, or an iPod Video by earning 3,000 Pod Points. No matter which way you choose to get your free iPod, you will never be required to enter credit card information, and you will learn about many other great offers along the way. Now that I've welcomed you to iPodSweepstakes.com and explained how it works, I want to let you know more about the main purpose of this blog. This blog is for you, the members, to have a place to find out new and exciting information about the site, as well as have a place to leave your own comments and suggestions regarding your experience with iPodSweepstakes.com. I will update the blog weekly with new offers, new winners, and new useful information in order to serve as a communication device between the site and its members. Feel free to leave me your feedback, and be sure to check back often for news about the site. |
