According to Accuracy in Media, U.S. taxpayers already spend $200 billion at home and around the world to fight AIDS and it has not resulted in any cures or a vaccine, and anti-AIDS drugs are coming under increased scrutiny for their ineffectiveness and side-effects.

However, as the American Dollar becomes weaker, the national debt rises and gas prices soar, maybe we need to spend an additional $50 billion dollars on the issue world wide in places such as Russia and China. That was the thinking in the U.S. Senate on Wednesday, who passed a measure to do just that in a 80-16 vote.

According to one Republican Senator who sided with Democrats on the issue, the additional spending will surely make the world love us. "It's one of the strongest ways the U.S. has made an impact on a number of countries where our diplomacy hasn't been effective in the past," said Sen. Richard G. Lugar (R-Ind.)

Both Obama and McCain were original sponsors of the bill, but neither voted on the measure because they were busy on the campaign trail. Go figure.

The 16 nay votes included one from a staunch McCain ally, Senator Lindsey Graham of SC. Total nay voters were as follows: Allard (R-CO), Barrasso (R-WY), Bunning (R-KY), Cornyn (R-TX), Craig (R-ID), Crapo (R-ID), DeMint (R-SC), Ensign (R-NV), Graham (R-SC), Gregg (R-NH), Hutchison (R-TX), Inhofe (R-OK), Kyl (R-AZ), Sessions (R-AL), Vitter (R-LA), and Wicker (R-MS).

As support rose for the measure, Senators Jim DeMint, David Vitter and Jeff Sessions attempted to reduce the size and reach of the bill.

"It's not a good time to be talking about spending billions of American dollars around the world, no matter how good the cause might be," DeMint said.

Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky said “We need to ensure that these funds reach the neediest countries and not those that can afford their own space and nuclear programs, such as China and Russia. At a time when China is tripling their defense budget and manipulating their currency, I have a hard time sending billions of dollars over there…”

Of course the voices of reason never seem to get too far. Senator DeMint’s amendment to limit the countries in which the AIDS money could be spent was defeated 70-24.

Accuracy in Media said that the passed measure for additional spending "demonstrated the complicity of both major political parties in out-of-control spending designed to benefit a powerful special interest group."

Back during the Vietnam war, Canada was the place of choice for draft dodgers and military deserters. Apparently, Canada is in no mood for a massive encore.

U.S. Army deserter Robin Long is believed to be the first of the Iraq war that Canada has kicked out their country. Long was deported from Canada Tuesday and was immediately arrested when he crossed into the United States. The Federal Court of Canada rejected Long's request to let him stay in the country pending further appeals. A spokesman for the U.S. Army, said Long would be returned to Fort Knox, Ky., for disciplinary procedures, including possible prison time.

So, what happens if Liberals no longer have a Canada to run to? Hollywood may be forced to suck it up and soldiers may be forced to honor their commitments. Oh the horror!

There's much talk in the mainstream media about how Sen. Barack Obama's poll numbers reflect that the candidate is not crossing "the racial divide." On Tuesday a New York Times/CBS poll reflected that 83 percent of blacks had a favorable opinion of Obama, compared to only 31 percent of white voters.

What is not being talked about by the mainstream media is the underlying cause for the numbers. Many will surely see these polls as an act of blatant racism by whites against a candidate of partial African American heritage. In all actuality, it may be more of a reflection of their disdain for racism and Obama's connection to it.

American voters are notoriously known for their short-term memories. Occasionally however, something comes along that is so horrific that it sears into their memory. The hateful, racist, sexist, anti-semantic and anti-white teachings of Obama's former pastor-the Rev. Jeremiah Wright-is such an occasion.

No, Obama has not crossed the "race divide." If anything, his twenty year support of a "church"-that teaches racism, hate and paranoia-has threatened to widen it.

My sister is a scrub nurse. That's the person who stands beside and assists surgeons during a surgical procedure. A few years ago she assisted in an open heart surgery case. She has never been to medical school nor has she ever actually performed the operation herself. However, if you happen to need the surgery, she may be willing to help you out.

Concerned about her qualifications? Rest assured, she has seen the surgery performed countless times on television and has access to countless reports on the procedure. I'm sure she would do a great job and save any cardiology patient a tremendous amount of money. Professional surgery can be expensive.

If you are voting for Obama, I'm sure that you will have no hesitation in utilizing my sister's services. After all, you are willing to trust Obama with the job of overseeing our troops in Iraq.

Obama has never served in the military and has not been to Iraq in over two years. Although it has been a while since he's actually seen the situation in Iraq first hand-918 days and counting-he already knows exactly what's going on and has a plan to handle it. He has undoubtedly heard countless reports on the situation and has seen it numerous times on television.

It just so happens, that another guy named Sen. John McCain would prefer to oversee the procedures taking place in Iraq. He's been in the military, has commanded forces, was once a prisoner of war and visits Iraq every few months. There is no need to have second thoughts though, because according to Obama, he is still the best guy for the job.

Although he obviously feels it's unnecessary, Obama has agreed to take another visit to Iraq later this month. He argued in San Diego on Sunday that just because Sen. John McCain has made multiple visits to Iraq, that does not mean that McCain has the correct perspective on the region. He pointed out that unlike his rival, he knows "the difference between Shia and Sunni" Muslims. McCain once mixed up their names.

There's also the issue of the price tag. "Before we went into Iraq, I said that we would be bogged down, that it would cost us billions of dollars," Obama said.

Why ever would America need a surgeon, if a scrub nurse is willing to handle the job?

Those of the leftist mindset appear to be miffed at Sen. Barack Obama at the moment. A quick glance at news reports is leading many of them to believe that he has changed his mind on every bra-burning issue at stake in the 2008 election.

This election year, we have been exposed to the two Barack Obamas-the one who won the Democratic Primary and the one that hopes to win a general election.

Democratic Primary Obama said "the best way to protect our security and to pressure Iraq's leaders to resolve their civil war is to immediately begin to remove our combat troops." General Election Obama says it is possible the timeline could slip if the pace of withdrawal needs to be slowed some months to ensure troop safety. "I have always said ... I would always reserve the right to do what's best," he said.

Primary Obama approved abortion under any and all circumstances. General Election Obama appeared open to more restrictions when speaking to Relevant Magazine.

"I have repeatedly said that I think it's entirely appropriate for states to restrict or even prohibit late-term abortions as long as there is a strict, well-defined exception for the health of the mother. Now, I don't think that 'mental distress' qualifies as the health of the mother," Obama said. "I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother carrying that child to term. Otherwise, as long as there is such a medical exception in place, I think we can prohibit late-term abortions."

Primary Obama expressed his frustrations with small town voters for "clinging to guns and religion." General Election Obama supported the overturn of the D.C. Gun ban, hopes to extend Bush's faith-based initiative programs and insists that he is a committed Christian.

If American voters are puzzled over Obama's occasional transformation, they must come to terms with the fact that he is-after all the hype-a "typical" politician. Obama's yo-yo stances most likely have little to do with the occasional crisis of a conservative conscience and everything to do with his desire to be elected.

This is an email sent today by the office of U.S. Sen. Jim Demint. I couldn't agree more with his efforts. Please consider participating in this online petition and informing others via email.

Conservative Ally -

The skyrocketing cost of fuel is burning a hole in the pockets of Americans. It’s elevating the cost of food and other necessities our families depend on to live their everyday lives. It is our obligation and responsibility as your leaders in Washington to do everything in our power to end our dependence on foreign oil and alleviate the burden that’s been placed on our citizens.

I wanted to take a moment today to introduce you to a new website that’s caught a lot of attention in Washington. Just last week I signed an online petition at Newt Gingrich’s American Solutions PAC called Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. - A Real Change Campaign to Lower Your Gas Price. Well over half a million fellow conservatives have already signed the petition and I am asking you to join me in sending a strong message that we must decrease our dependence on foreign oil and explore our resources here on our own soil.

On the American Solutions Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. website you can keep up with the latest news regarding domestic drilling and the increasing costs – both literal and figurative – of the rising price of fuel.

I hope you’ll join me today in sending the message to Washington that we can’t sit back while working families suffer under the strain of high gas prices. We have to take steps now to bring real solutions to the table and we can’t wait idly by watching the price per barrel continue to increase.

By signing the petition, sending emails, and spreading the word we can make Washington listen. Friends, I want to send a message so strong it will make their ears ring. I hope you’ll stand with me.

Sincerely,

Jim DeMint

The A.C.L.U.-affectionately known as the American Communist Lawyers Union by some-has now set its sites on the U.S. Naval Academy as a target for a potential lawsuit. In the eyes of the A.C.L.U., the preferences of nine midshipmen-who contacted them over their objections to lunchtime prayer-apparently override the rights and convictions of all other attendees.

In a letter dated May 02,2008 and written to Vice Admiral Jeffery L. Fowler of the U.S. Naval Academy, an A.C.L.U. legal director by the name of Deborah A. Jeon warned that it believes that it is "long past time for the Naval Academy to discontinue the official lunchtime prayers." Jeon stated that some were put in a "difficult position" during the moment "if as a matter of conscience" they did not wish to join along.

Most of the complaints appear to stem from the midshipmen's concerns of how others perceive their lack of participation in prayer. "Everybody else is participating with their heads bowed and their arms crossed," one Agnostic said anonymously in an interview. "It became very obvious that you aren't participating,"she said. Another recent graduate, who is an atheist told The New York Times that whether officers make participating in the prayer voluntary or not, “they make it very clear that this is the standard."

Apparently their "matter of conscience" does not include a backbone. They lack the strength to stand nobly for their own convictions, so they are now attempting to deny others the right to stand for theirs.

However, the U.S. Naval Academy appears in no hurry to willfully trample on the constitutionally given rights of the majority to accommodate the selfish desires of a few.

"The academy does not intend to change its practice of offering midshipmen an opportunity for prayer or devotional thought during noon meal announcements," the university said in a statement. The Academy also stated that some form of prayer has been offered for midshipmen at meals since the school's founding, in 1845, and that it is "consistent with other practices throughout the Navy."

At campaign function in Detroit on Monday, Barack Obama campaign volunteers apparently tried to hide two Hijab-clad Muslim women-Shimaa Abdelfadeel and Hebba Aref-from camera view by denying them seats near the Senator.

“I was coming to support him, and I felt like I was discriminated against by the very person who was supposed to be bringing this change, who I could really relate to,” said Hebba Aref, according to Politico.

It has since been revealed by columnist, Debbie Schlussel, that both women have connections to Islamic extremist activities.

Regarding Hebba Aref, Schlussel writes:
Hebba Aref, was an official of the Muslim Students Association (MSA), in charge of proselytizing. The Chicago Tribune identified the MSA as part of the American manifestation of the Sunni terrorist group, Al-Ikhwan Al-Muslimeen--The Muslim Brotherhood. Aref served on the executive board of the University of Michigan-Dearborn's MSA, which demanded and obtained tax-funded Muslim foot baths at that university, a story I broke on this site last year. Also, two Muslim students at U-M Dearborn, Lola Elzein and Mohammed Fouad Abdallah, sent me violent rape and death threats.
Schlussel also reported the following information on Shimaa Abdelfadeel:
Shimaa Abdelfadeel, the other woman allegedly excluded by the Obama campaign, was chair of SAFE, a University of Michigan-Ann Arbor group that hosted the 2002 Divestment Conference against Israel at which "Annihilate the Jews!" was chanted and Islamic Jihad founder Sami Al-Arian was keynote speaker. She's the author of vehement anti-Israel vitriol and propaganda.
Obama has personally offered his apologies to the women for his volunteers' attempt to hide them from camera view.

"I reached out to Ms. Aref and Ms. Abdelfadeel this afternoon," Obama said in a statement. "I spoke with Ms. Abdelfadeel, and expressed my deepest apologies for the incident that occurred with volunteers at the event in Detroit."

Obama said the volunteers' actions were "unacceptable and in no way reflect any policy of my campaign."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)-who has been listed by the Justice Department as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism funding trial-has applauded and accepted Obama's apology.

"We welcome the campaign's apology and urge candidates of all parties not to give in to pressure from the vocal minority," said CAIR Director, Corey Saylor, according to Al-Jazeera.

Al-Jazeera also reports that the women have also accepted Obama's apology and quoted them as stating, "the infringement on our rights occurred and has been addressed; now we are ready to move forward."

It appears that Obama has now sufficiently kissed and made up to the Islamic extremist community in America.

If the 2008 presidential race has shown me anything, it has sadly shown me this. Many Americans still care more about the color of a person's skin than the content of a person's character.

Although the mainstream media has done it's part to push Sen. Barack Obama's calls for a unity that crosses race, economics and party lines, the fact remains that Obama has does nothing of the sort.

Obama is still the most far left Senator in the United States Senate. His social stances lean somewhere left of Sen. Barbara Boxer as he promotes a version of socialized economics and government services.

Obama also chose to attend and defend a church for twenty years that is hell-bent on setting back race relations by 50 years and preaching a doctrine of hate in lieu of the the biblical teachings to love your neighbor and know that all are equal in the eyes of the Lord.

Obama eventually stopped defending and attending such a "church", but only after poll numbers demanded that he do so. During Obama's campaign he has not hesitated to throw anyone under the bus that threatens his shot at the prize, including his own place of worship. His loyalty to any one group, is always subject to "change."

Although the media will lead you to believe that all African-American churches are exactly like Trinity and that African Americans in general subscribe to Obama's far-left beliefs, it is simply not true.

However when I see African American leaders-who are known for following biblical or conservative principals-start signing Obama's praises, I'm sometimes left disappointed and confused about their priorities in life.

Black conservative talk show host Armstrong Williams has stated that he has never voted for a Democrat for president but that his vote could change this year with Barack Obama as the Democratic Party's nominee.

"I don't necessarily like his policies; I don't like much that he advocates, but for the first time in my life, history thrusts me to really seriously think about it," Williams said.

Don't like his policies? Than what do you like about Sen. Obama, Mr. Williams?

Bishop T.D. Jakes is founder and senior pastor of The Potter's House of Dallas, Texas, a multiracial, nondenominational church with more than 50 outreach ministries.

In a recent article, Jakes said watching Obama gave him "visible goosebumps." He called Barack Obama's clinching of the Democratic nomination "not just a victory for African Americans" but a "victory for democracy."

As a Christian shepherd, what is it about Obama that gives you goosebumps, Mr. Jakes? Does it have anything to with his strong opposition against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act or is it maybe the fact that Obama advocates a complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act?

While I'm proud to live in a nation that where a person of any color can become our leader, skin color should never overshadow our principles. When it comes time to vote in November all Americans-black, white, brown or somewhere in between-need to ask themselves one question: What is it that matters most to me?

It is scary to think of the possibility of a foreign and often hostile Islamic government forming schools in America to educate our children. Not only has such a foreign entity been allowed to develop such schools, but our own government has shown it will do very little when it chooses to promote murder by our own children.

An recent investigation of the Islamic Saudi Academy-funded by the Saudi government- has revealed disturbing teachings. For example the textbooks contain passages encouraging readers to blame the Jews for "discord" and says it is sometimes permissible to kill non-Muslims. A passage in a 12th-grade Koranic interpretation textbook states that it is permissible for a Muslim to kill those who have left the faith, an adulterer or someone who has murdered a Muslim intentionally.

The school operates two campuses in Northern Virginia and has been given the green light to continue operations even though it has failed to live up its previous promise to "revise the textbooks by the 2008 school year."

State Department spokesman Rob McInturff said,"We don't plan to take additional action apart from the discussions that have been going on with the Saudi government."

The school's 1999 valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, was indicted in 2005 for providing material support to terrorists.

In 2002, graduates Mohammed Osman Idris and Mohammed El-Yacubi were denied entry to Israel over concerns of ties to a potential suicide bombing. They were also convicted and sentenced to 30 in prison for plotting to assassinate President Bush.

How are supposed to fight terrorism, when we allow the creation of terrorist in own backyards?

We've been repeatedly forewarned of the dangers of allowing Iran to develop nuclear weapons. Because of liberal pacifists living in their own dream world of granola and campfire songs, we have nothing but drag our feet, doubt Iran's capabilities to go nuclear and count on the "big bad" U.N. to slap sanctions.

Those of us have seen the potential danger of a nuclear Iran to Israel and America have been called "neocon warmongers" and worse. However according to the recent words of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the "true" worst may be finally knocking at our door.

"In the past two-three years, they employed all their might, resorted to propaganda ... and sanctions. If the enemy thinks they can break the Iranian nation with pressure, they are wrong ... With God's help, today we have achieved victory and the enemies cannot do a damned thing," Ahmadinejad said in a speech broadcast live on state television on Wednesday.

Ahmadinejad also gave his farewells to outgoing U.S. President, George W. Bush. "This wicked man desires to harm the Iranian nation. (Bush) made plans, moved into Afghanistan and then Iraq, and announced that Iran was the third target," he said. "I tell him (Bush) ... your era has come to an end. With the grace of God, you won't be able to harm even one centimetre of the sacred land of Iran," he continued.

Apparently Ahmadinejad is looking forward to a new American president. I wonder which candidate is giving him so much "hope" for "change?" I'm completely puzzled.

I'm an evangelical Christian who also happens to be a Southern Baptist. Although I in no way speak for my denomination, apparently I'm not alone when it comes to my reluctant embrace of Sen. John McCain.

Quotes from this week's gathering of the Southern Baptist Convention show that I'm very much in like-company.

Dan Yoder, the pastor of a Southern Baptist Church in Springfield, Tennessee, said, "I'm going to have to hold my nose while I vote for McCain ... but Obama's a die-hard socialist."

"I think most Southern Baptists will support McCain though I know there are some issues with McCain among more conservative evangelicals," outgoing SBC president Frank Page told Reuters.

"I think most Baptists would want him to speak out more on evangelical issues than what he has but we are cautiously accepting him," said John Mann, a pastor from Springtown, Texas, west of Fort Worth.

McCain does not have a great track record with some well-known evangelical leaders that are well respected by many members of the SBC congregation.

McCain recently renounced the endorsement he sought from Rev. John Haggee in San Antonio after the liberal media went on a shameless and inaccurate attack on the man's character and his message.

During the primary, Dr. James Dobson repeatedly warned that he would sit out the election and simply not vote if John McCain became the presidential nominee. "I am convinced Sen. McCain is not a conservative and, in fact, has gone out of his way to stick his thumb in the eyes of those who are," Dobson once said.

Not to help, reports recently surfaced that McCain refused an invitation to meet with the Reverend Billy Graham. It sent McCain staffers running to deny the rumor and insist they've been working behind the scenes to set up such a meeting with the evangelist.

When you combine these events with McCain's soft stance on some issues that are deemed highly important to conservatives, SBC members are not ecstatic about supporting McCain. Their commitment is timid at best.

"It's basically a choice between a liberal and an ultra-liberal," Jodie Sanders, a Southern Baptist church-goer from Fairfield, Texas, said.

The primary force behind the decision of some members to vote for Sen. John McCain appears to be the widespread desire to stop Sen. Barack Hussein Obama. When considering the twisted gospel stumped at Obama's former "church" of twenty years and his stances that fall somewhere left of Sen.Barbara Boxer on all social issues-even McCain comes out smelling like a rose.

The SBC is the largest protestant evangelical church organization in the U.S.A. with 16 million-strong. Evangelicals make up at least one out of four votes for the Republican party.

Ironically, McCain also attends a Southern Baptist Convention affiliated church in Arizona. It may be time for Sen. McCain to start listening to his Sunday sermon. Otherwise many of his fellow congregates may decide to pull a "James Dobson" and simply stay home.

Today's cinematic delight comes courtesy of the Obama Campaign. The Obama Camp is often perceived as not "giving a crap" about America's heroes. This video tribute shows that it does indeed "give a crap"-at least when it comes to the nation's police officers who have fallen in the line of duty.

2d Session

H. R. 6023

To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit certain forms of interference with military recruiting.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

May 12, 2008

Mr. AKIN (for himself, Mr. BOEHNER, Mr. CANTOR, Mr. BROWN of South Carolina, Mr. PITTS, Mr. WAMP, Mr. DOOLITTLE, Mrs. MYRICK, Mrs. BACHMANN, Mr. DAVID DAVIS of Tennessee, Mr. FEENEY, Mr. GINGREY, Mr. MARCHANT, Mr. BARTLETT of Maryland, Mr. BARRETT of South Carolina, Mr. MILLER of Florida, Mr. FRANKS of Arizona, Mr. KLINE of Minnesota, Mr. WILSON of South Carolina, Mr. POE, Mr. CONAWAY, Mr. CHABOT, Mr. COBLE, Mr. SAM JOHNSON of Texas, Mr. HELLER of Nevada, Mr. BROUN of Georgia, and Mr. BISHOP of Utah) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

A BILL

To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit certain forms of interference with military recruiting.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the `Freedom to Serve Act of 2008′.

SEC. 2. FINDINGS.

    Congress makes the following findings:
    • (1) According to article I, section 8 of the United States Constitution, Congress has the power to raise and support armies and to provide and maintain a navy; and to make all laws necessary and proper to carry out these powers.
    • (2) The First Amendment states: `Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people to peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.’.
    • (3) According to the United States Supreme Court, the right to peaceable assembly is a right similar to those of free speech and free press and is equally essential. (De Jonge v. Oregon).
    • (4) The key word being `peaceably’, the First Amendment protects peaceful, not violent, assembly and protest.
    • (5) The successful recruiting of men and women to serve in the armed services of the United States is fundamental to the security of the American people.
    • (6) Serving in the military is highly honorable, and often requires great sacrifice and courage by the men and women of our armed services.
    • (7) United States military recruiters have been subject to an escalating number of acts of vandalism and violent protest, including but not limited to:
      • (A) March 2003: Anti-war protestors in Ithaca, NY, target a recruitment center that had been hit before with Molotov cocktails. On St. Patrick’s Day, wielding cups of their own blood, they entered a Lansing military recruitment office and splashed their blood over recruiter posters, military cutouts and the American flag.
      • (B) January 20, 2005: At Seattle Central Community College, Army recruiter Sgt. Jeff Due and his colleague Sgt. 1st Class Douglas Washington were hounded by an angry mob of approximately 500 anti-war students. The recruiters’ table was destroyed; their handouts, torn apart. Protesters threw water bottles and newspapers at the soldiers. A far-left anti-war group had been agitating to kick the recruiters off campus. The college administration refused to punish the radicals.
      • (C) January 31, 2005: Recruiters in Manhattan reported that a door to their office had been beaten in. Various anti-war symbols were scrawled in red paint on the building. On the same day, New York police arrested a young Manhattan College junior and charged him with throwing a burning rag into an Army recruiting station and ruining the door locks with super glue.
      • (D) February 1, 2005: At a South Toledo, Ohio, recruitment center, protesters hurled manure all over the building. They broke windows and sprayed vulgar graffiti on office property.
      • (E) March 2005: In East Orange, NJ, young anti-military protesters shattered the windows of an Army recruitment station and a neighboring Navy office.

Although the mainstream media has primarily tried to avoid the issue of Hamas' display of love for Sen. Barack Obama, it doesn't make it untrue. In the past, the terrorist group has confirmed who they wish to be America's next president-Barack Hussein Obama.

In April, Ahmed Yousef, Hamas' chief political adviser in Gaza, made the group's choice for POTUS crystal clear. "We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections," he said. Palestinians in the Gaza area have since burned up the phone banks to rally support for Obama among U.S. voters.

On Wednesday Obama addressed the pro-Israel group, AIPAC, and declared that "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided."

Apparently this didn't set well with Obama's Hamas supporters. "Obama’s comments have confirmed that there will be no change in the U.S. administration’s foreign policy on the Arab-Israeli conflict," Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters in Gaza on Wednesday after Obama's speech. "Hamas does not differentiate between the two presidential candidates," he continued.

Zurhi later confirmed to WorldNetDaily that the words of Hamas disenchantment came solely in response to Obama's comments to AIPAC. "I was responding to the speech. We deal with statements and not motivations. Right now Obama's statements prove he is like other American presidents and won't bring any change," said Zurhi.

On Thursday the Obama campaign did a practical one-eighty by "clarifying" Obama's "no-division" speech.

"Jerusalem remains Israel's capital and it's not going to be divided by barbed wire and checkpoints as it was in 1948-1967," said an Obama campaign spokesman to the Jerusalem Post.

The campaign spokesman also refused to rule out the possibility of the city of Jerusalem serving as "the capital of a Palestinian state" or "Palestinian sovereignty over Arab neighborhoods."

Morton Klein, president of the Zionist Organization of America- who had originally lauded Obama's statement-has called the candidate's clarification "troubling." Klein said that Obama's declarations regarding Jerusalem at the AIPAC conference were made possibly to "mislead strong supporters of Israel" to think that Obama "supports something he doesn't really believe."

Obama's longtime buddy and campaign financer, Tony Rezko of Chicago, was convicted on 16 out of 24 corruption counts by a federal jury this week.

On Wednesday, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said that he was "saddened by today's verdict" and that "this isn't the Tony Rezko I knew."

Not the man you knew, Obama? That sounds familiar. Let's flashback.

"The person that I saw yesterday was not the person that I met 20 years ago," Obama said a day after Reverend Jeremiah Wright strutted his stuff for the National Press Club.

Obama attended Wright's church for twenty years and the man baptized his children. Rezko has thrown fundraisers for Obama and even helped him buy his family's home.

Obama's declarations beg the question-who does Obama know? The next thing you know, he will have the same excuse for Michelle Obama.

When I took French in high school, we were required to pick French names for ourselves as part of the school's immersion curriculum. I picked "Brigitte" as my first name. Eighteen years later, I've never been more proud.

Brigitte Bardot is a French actress, former fashion model, singer and an animal welfare/rights activist. During the 1990s she also became outspoken in her criticism of immigration, Islam in France and homosexuality. Bardot has now received her fifth criminal conviction for her determination to express her concerns on such matters.

On Tuesday Bardot was found guilty of "provoking discrimination and racial hatred" against Muslims. A Paris court also handed down a $23,325 fine against Bardot and ordered her to pay an additional $1,555 in damages to MRAP-a French anti-racism group.

Bardot's latest conviction stems from expressing her concerns in a letter to then Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy in December 2006. In the letter she stated that France was "tired of being led by the nose by this population that is destroying our country by imposing its acts." Bardot was simply referring to the desire of Muslims to slaughter sheep at the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha.

High five to you Madame Bardot. Although some lawmakers appear bound and determined to limit free speech in America as well, at the moment I still have a pen. This "Brigitte" will pick up the slack, because many are tired of being led by the nose-in more ways than one.

Telegraph.Co.Uk has reported that two evangelical minsters in Birmingham, England were threatened by police for handing out Christian gospel leaflets in a predominately Muslim area of Birmingham.

Both of the minsters are Americans but have been living and working in the Birmingham, England area for many years.

Arthur Cunningham, 48, and Joseph Abraham, 65, said that they were stopped and questioned by an officer when speaking to Asian youths.

Abraham and Cunningham stated that when the officer realized they were Americans, that he launched into a tirade against President Bush and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The officer then went on to threaten them about their religion.

"He said we were in a Muslim area and were not allowed to spread our Christian message," said Cunningham. "He said we were committing a hate crime by telling the youths to leave Islam and said that he was going to take us to the police station. You have been warned. If you come back here and get beaten up, well you have been warned."

After a "full investigation" of the incident by The West Midlands Police, little was done to penalize the officer or discourage further mistreatment of Christians in the area. The department refused to even apologize to the men and simply stated that the officer responsible for the incident would receive additional "training in understanding hate crime and communication."

Now imagine what would have happened if it had been Islamic literature handed out by two men from the Middle East in a predominately Christian neighborhood. Would the same "punishment" apply if the officer had reacted this way? There is little doubt that if the situation were reversed, the Midlands Police would hardly be as dismissive when dealing with the officer.

"I couldn't believe this was happening in Britain," said Abraham. "The Bishop of Rochester was criticized by the Church of England recently when he said there were no-go areas in Britain but he was right; there are certainly no-go areas for Christians who want to share the gospel."

Michelle Obama warned Sen. Barack Obama supporters and activist on Monday at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center in Billings, Montana of the evil bloggers and talking voters in the world-you know the non-Obama supporting ones.

"Don't trust bloggers or someone else's opinion, because people lie," she said. "It's not easy to believe, sometimes. And Barack Obama isn't always an easy candidate," she said. "He's got a funny name," she said.

Freedom of Speech can be the pits when you're a candidate like Sen. Barack Hussein Obama. His hypocrisies and fumbling idiosyncrasies are enormous.

Blogging in particular grants concerned citizens access to news and truth beyond that offered up by the mainstream media. Believe it or not, a large chunk of voters resent having their news sprinkled in "Obama fairy dust" prior to publishing.

However there is no need to go and get "bitter" on us, dear Michelle. Maybe if your husband wins, you two can work on that pesky freedom of speech issue together. Until then- just like your buddy Al Gore-you must learn to deal with the "inconvenient truth."

When Sen. Barack Obama's former pastor and declared spiritual advisor Rev. Jeremiah Wright became a regular on the news due to his off the wall political speeches-called sermons by some-Obama saw the possibility of damage to his campaign for the presidency.

Obama was hesitant at first to disown the former pastor of his home church-the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. In what has been dubbed the "race speech" in Philadelphia, Obama offered many excuses for the man and vowed that "I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community."

However when the "good" Reverend strutted his stuff at the National Press Club in a effort to drive home his wacky and hate filled political doctrine, Obama changed his tune. Jeremiah Wright was thrown to the wolves.

"There wasn’t anything constructive out of yesterday. All there was was a bunch of rants that aren’t grounded in truth. And I can’t construct something positive out of that," Obama said. He also proclaimed that Wright was "never his spiritual advisor" or "spiritual mentor."

According to the words of Reverend Jeremiah Wright in an interview with the New York Times over a year ago, it appears that Obama's dumping of Wright was a deal the two men made in advanced.

"He might have to publicly distance himself from me,” Wright told the paper. “I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.”

In Obama's big "race speech" he also reconfirmed his dedicated to his church and its people. He spoke of his experiences in the organization that he had also previously written about in his book, "Dreams of My Father."

"People began to shout, to rise from their seats and clap and cry out, a forceful wind carrying the reverend's voice up into the rafters....And in that single note -- hope! -- Those stories -- of survival, and freedom, and hope -- became our story, my story," he said.

Since Obama's denouncement of Wright, Trinity has continued on its wacky way by stumping the same message with a different pastor-Otis Moss. Moss has continued preaching the gospel "according to Wright" and even compared Wright to Jesus. Obama lauded Moss as a "wonderful young pastor."

However when videos recently hit the airways of a visiting Catholic priest-Michael Pfleger- giving his own Jeremiah Wright style sermon/Obama stump speech at Trinity, once again Obama's "story" regarding his church became a different one.

On Saturday Obama announced that he was resigning from the church "with some sadness" and that it was a decision he did not "come to lightly." "We don't want to have to answer for everything that's stated in the church," he said. "We also don't want the church subjected to the scrutiny that a presidential campaign legitimately undergoes."

Obama's political buddies appear to be breathing a sigh of relief that Obama has decided to withdraw his church membership from Trinity. "I think it bodes well for us in the general election that we can put whatever issues there were behind us in respect to the church," U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler of Florida said.

It appears that Obama has decided to take a "love/hate" approach when dealing with his spiritual life and the relationships he has formed as a result of it. He loves to stick around but hates it when even those on the left run out of excuses for it.

The Island of Doctor Moreau is a science fiction novel that was written in 1896 by H.G. Wells. In the novel, the main character finds himself on an island full of part beast-part human creatures that were created through scientific experiment. Many would say the story is too far fetched. Yet it appears that the Brits may have enjoyed the plot of the story a little too much.

On Monday the British parliament debated the Human Fertilization and Embryology Bill that addressed fertilization and reproduction issues including the use of hybrid human-animal embryos for research.

During the research, animal eggs are emptied and then filled with human cells to create an "admixed embryo." The embryo is allowed to develop for 14 days to harvest stem cells.

Josephine Quintavalle, a bioethicist who founded Comment on Reproductive Ethics, said the that "crossing the species barrier in this way is deeply, deeply reprehensible."

The British House of Commons passed the measure by a vote of 336–176.

It is past time for many misguided Scientists to place actual Science above popular political agenda. It now appears that at least some are doing just that when it comes to the study of the earth's climate.

WorldNetDaily has reported that currently 31,000 plus scientists across the United States have signed a petition rejecting the theory of man-made "global warming." Those signing the petition include more than 9,000 Ph.D.s in atmospheric science, climatology, Earth science, environment and numerous other specialized fields.

"The campaign to severely ration hydrocarbon energy technology has now been markedly expanded," said project spokesman and founder Art Robinson. "In the course of this campaign, many scientifically invalid claims about impending climate emergencies are being made. Simultaneously, proposed political actions to severely reduce hydrocarbon use now threaten the prosperity of Americans and the very existence of hundreds of millions of people in poorer countries," he said.

AccuWeather Meteorologist, Joe Bastardi recently offered advice to America's presidential candidates regarding their plans to address "global warming."

"This is exactly how this should be handled," wrote Bastardi. "Mr Obama, can the Al Gore as an advisor on the environment. Mr. McCain, quit succumbing to pressure because you want to look nice or moderate. Both of you, get the people that can give this debate its true merit in front of you. Hillary, if you are elected, the same thing (you got to admit, she is showing some Lady Thatcher or Golda Meir spunk these days). But stop with watching people that aren't the main event."

"The polar bear situation should push Americans over the edge," he continues. "The long term population has increased. In addition, the cold this winter may simply be a preview of what is coming. That we are basically going to make it illegal to get oil, from an area that can perhaps help us get off foreign oil, because of yet another problem that may not exist, should be enough to clear the air and reveal that there are alot of people supporting this position that are not driven by the science, but what may be an almost fanatical madness, and that should resonate with people."

"This is not a matter of politics," Bastardi wrote. "It is a matter of science and facts and educated men squaring off and displaying their knowledge."

That sounds like great advice. Unfortunately, it's hard enough these days to motivate Scientists to show political agenda the backseat. What can we honestly expect from these guys?
