Sat, 17 May 2008 00:22:00 +0200 Asus fortifies smartphone bid with the P560
The Asus P560 is expected to be available on June for around €500 (around $775 US). A GPS navigation kit with mounts, car charger, and the iGO 6 navigation software with regional European maps preloaded on a 512MB memory card will also ship with the device. (Via Gadgetell.) (Via UberGizmo, the Gadgets News Blog.) Sat, 17 May 2008 00:21:00 +0200 Motorola RAZR2 Pink Silver edition looks cool, I guess
Is it the lack of innovation at Motorola or just an idea to maximize revenue from the existing devices? Or both? Don't know, but following the introduction of the ultra-cool RAZR2 V9 Ferrari Edition, the American handset maker has unveiled a new flavor of the device. With its 'luxurious yet tranquil look and carefully-selected features', the MOTO RAZR2 Pink Silver is obviously targeted towards female consumers. Actually it's designed to 'appeal to the confident young generation,' according to Lim Joung Ah, Marketing Director of Motorola Korea. Unfortunately, or not, you won't be able to grab the pink RAZR2 at this stage. That's if you're not living/working in Korea, and judging by IntoMobile's stats, it's not that likely you're reading this from Seoul. SK Telecom will be selling the device but we're not sure how much it will cost. My guess is not that much with some contract. Finally, in case you care, the specs of the RAZR2 Pink Silver edition are unchanged to the original device. (Via IntoMobile.) Sat, 17 May 2008 00:21:00 +0200 Samsung gets official with B&O-infused F400 dual slider Mmm hmm. That F400 dual slider we originally got wind of in February is the real deal, as confirmed by Samsung today. Designed with music aficionados in mind, the handset is equipped with ICEpower from Bang & Olufsen, which gets complemented with a 3-megapixel camera (with AF and a LED flash), 2.2-inch display, 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, twin stereo speakers, music hot key, FM tuner, Bluetooth 2.0, a 1GB microSD card and USB 2.0 connectivity. The unit itself is built on HSDPA tri-band technology, and while we know you US'ers would love to wraps your paws around it, Sammy would rather dish it out to the French in black / white motifs later this month, while sending it to other regions of Europe, Asia and the Middle East shortly thereafter. Tough noogies. (Via Engadget.) Sat, 17 May 2008 00:19:00 +0200 Aliph makes the new Jawbone official

Sat, 17 May 2008 00:18:00 +0200 ![]() The Samsung SGH-i900 touts itself to be a full touch screen Windows Mobile smartphone from Samsung, and here's a collage of images that will put to rest all doubts as to the authenticity of the device. Some of the specifications will definitely floor you, and this will be one high-end smartphone that won't give up an inch when it goes up head to head against the 3G iPhone.

Wed, 14 May 2008 06:01:00 +0200 LG intros KM380 music phone in China Thank you, LG, thank you for getting it. A music phone should have a 3.5mm headphone jack -- no exceptions -- and the new KM380 destined for the Chinese market has exactly that, not to mention a clever set of external controls on the outside of the flip dedicated to tune control. Failing to bring something like this onto the low end of your American or European offerings is pretty weak, but maybe this marks the beginning of a new chapter for you -- a 'Golden Age' of music phones. Or maybe not. We can hope. (Via Engadget Mobile.) Wed, 14 May 2008 06:00:00 +0200 Motorola's new V750 and W755 for Verizon in all their glory ![]() Two of Motorola's latest Verizon wares continue their relentless march toward launch day (or 'L-day' as we like to call it when we're trying to sound extra important and cryptic), the V750 and W755 flips. We don't have a date on the V750 yet -- the slightly sportier-looking of the two in silver with red and mesh black trim -- but we now hear that the W755 is currently tracking for a May 23 debut. No word on pricing there, but with the meager feature set, we imagine it'll be pretty easy on the wallet. In the meantime, though, enjoy some photography. Come on, you know you want to. (Via Engadget Mobile.) Wed, 14 May 2008 06:00:00 +0200 AT&T to be first US carrier with BlackBerry Bold Granted, we haven't heard anything thus far about which carrier would be offering up the recently-made-official BlackBerry Bold, but we can't say we're too shocked to hear that it will indeed be AT&T. In a report highlighting the recent boost in RIM's stock price, it's noted that AT&T will be 'the exclusive carrier for the Bold in the US,' though we have all ideas the other major US carriers will be following suit shortly, probably with redubbed handsets. We know, you're hungry for a price to mull over, but sadly, it's not meal time just yet. (Via Engadget CELLS.) Sat, 10 May 2008 23:08:00 +0200 Sony Ericsson R300 Radio, C902 Cyber-shot get FCC approval
Two Sony Ericsson phones have been spotted passing the so called FCC hurdle - the R300 Radio and C902 Cyber-shot. The first one is designed for developing countries to allow users to take radio (both AM and FM) with them, where ever they are. The other, more interesting device is the latest and baddest Cyber-shot phone so far - C902. As you're probably aware, this face-detection baby packs 5 megapixel camera into a stylish slim casing and we love it for that. Now the question is when we'll see the mentioned two devices hitting the U.S. market. Honestly, we don't have a clue. As a matter of fact, we don't even know whether the Swedish-Japanese handset maker will ever push them to North American consumers. We certainly hope that will be the case with the C902 model, but our hope isn't actually something you can count on… (Via IntoMobile.) Sat, 10 May 2008 23:08:00 +0200 Verizon now offering MOTO Q 9c

Fri, 09 May 2008 13:43:00 +0200 Verizon launches the Samsung Glyde ![]() One of the worst-kept secrets in Verizon's stable is finally getting official today; that's right, ladies and gentlemen, meet the Glyde from Samsung. Wearing CDMA guts underneath its F700 clothing, the fashion-friendly QWERTY slider offers a 2 megapixel cam with flash and autofocus, GPS, the full range of Bluetooth profiles, microSD slot, and a true HTML browser. Unlike its crosstown competition -- the LG Voyager -- the Glyde doesn't offer support for Verizon's VCAST TV service, but we imagine most folks will consider that a minor (read: nonexistent) inconvenience. Look for the phone to start circulating into retail channels this week for a princely $249.99 on contract after $50 rebate. Have a quick gander over on Engadget Mobile for a few shots of the Glyde doing what the Glyde does best -- posing for press photography, that is. (Via Engadget CELLS.) Fri, 09 May 2008 13:43:00 +0200 Samsung Guru200 launched in India It seems none of the current mobile phone makers in the world are ever too big to produce another lightweight handset. And I’m not talking lightweight in terms of grams or whatever. I referring to low-end and less feature-packed mobile phones that do users no good other than the basics. Samsung, as always, is keeping consumers in mind, and this time churns out an affordable handset targeted towards Indian users. It’s called the Samsung Guru200, which at first glance looks like it’s very basic phone for a simple reason - because it is.
The Samsung Guru200 is an entry-level handset that features a built-in FM radio tuner and recording feature that lets users record live radio shows and use them later as alarms or custom ringtones. Cricket and Sudoku are a couple of pre-installed Java games and there is also a Mobile tracker and Emergency SMS feature. According to Samsung, this dual-band mobile phone also offers up to 9 hours of talk time and a Call Time Limit feature that allows users to create a monthly limit for hours during calls. An Indian calendar will also be built-in, featuring local holidays and the Hinglish database. The Samsung Guru200 will be available in India for Rs. 2,999 or about $72 USD. (Via Unwired View.) Fri, 09 May 2008 13:43:00 +0200 ![]() The Cuusoo concept phone that you see here heralds from Japan, boasting a detachable screen portion that allows one to hold video phone calls on-the-go. I'm surprised with the technology that we have at the moment, something like this has not been realized yet. I presume that battery issues could be the main stumbling block though, since a screen does sip a significant amount of juice, even more so when it needs to transmit data wirelessly from the main handset. I like the way different attachments can be added to the concept handset, allowing one to turn it into a widescreen display or a dual screen viewer. (Via UberGizmo, the Gadgets News Blog.) Fri, 09 May 2008 13:43:00 +0200 ![]() CrackBerry managed to snag a BlackBerry 9000 for themselves, and here they are with a review. (Via UberGizmo, the Gadgets News Blog.) Fri, 09 May 2008 13:42:00 +0200 There really is no limit to human imagination. Take this EGG phone, for example, from designer Roman Tubl, which can substitute for the word 'flashy,' literally. To live up to its name, the phone is oval and egg shaped with a strip of illuminated red surrounding its rounded body. The surface is all touchscreen with flexi-true color display and tactile feedback. The designer hasn't forgotten the technical side of the EGG by including Bluetooth, WiFi, and USB in addition to the 4GB of space to store images snapped with its integrated 3.2-megapixel camera. As with most concept phones, this will be just be another imaginative concept, which could never make it to the production line, but still here to remind us what we are capable of. (Via MobileWhack.) Fri, 09 May 2008 13:42:00 +0200 Samsung Launches i200 Candybar Smartphone
For its display, the Samsung i200 has a 2.3-inch QVGA TFT screen with glossy finish (a characteristic observed on most of Samsung's handsets presented during MWC). It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 OS and can operate MS Office programs. Other specs include Bluetooth and USB connectivity, music player, 25MB internal memory, and a micro SD card slot. Aside from its mundane aesthetics, camera specs also disappoint at only 2-megapixels. The Samsung i200 will first be released in Europe on June, and will roll out in other markets a month afterwards. Fri, 09 May 2008 13:42:00 +0200 Professional CAMO luxury phone from Mobiado If you still haven't taken the plunge with the Stealth, here is another alternative from Mobiado, the Professional CAMO. Just like the Stealth, CAMO is built from aircraft aluminum resulting in a lightweight yet tough body, which is then anodized to give it a ceramic look. The anodized surface is painted with camouflage colors by hand and the front bezel is coated with DiamondShield, a polymer substrate with diamond-like properties. The keys are made of stainless steel, making it much more sturdier. On the spec-side, the Profession CAMO works with GSM 900/1800/1900 networks and is completely unlocked. The phone sports a TFT display and has an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera. It sports 32MB of internal memory with expansion up to 512MB, video streaming, music player, and Visual Radio. Bluetooth and infrared are the only connectivity options available. Considering there are only 200 of it made, the Professional CAMO would definitely fit your profile if you are in the market for some uniqueness. There is no info on pricing yet, but don't expect it to come cheap. Detailed Specifications: (Via MobileWhack.)
