Hello and welcome back. The Undertones once said "here's more songs about chocolate and girls" if you take that quote, you get the picture of this show. Allegedly Pete Townshend coined the phrase power pop in an interview from 1967, saying that "power pop is what we play." There seems to be alot of bands today that are bringing it all back but with a harder edge. Great shit from bands like The Marked Men, The Cute Lepers, and of course Jay Reatard. So take your ear plugs out and join us in our driveway for some jive jumping pop tunes but please close the gate, I dont feel like chasing the dogs down.

Here's a show that starts out with a real bluesy feel and jumps to those bands that we all like to here. Jawbone gives us a great cover of that beer drinking singalong "Chug a Lug. " Hot doggy foot stomp'm shit kickin ass whoopin rock n roll. Just like the boys down in Memphis meant it to be. Shit, I get tired of all this crap that is being thrown down our throats and people telling us its rock n roll. Somewhere, someone decided rock n roll is only good if it sells a trillion records and thats how you get into the rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Ask Madonna, and then watch her new video. Makes ya sick.......So....anyway.....todays show has alot of folks that know what rock n roll really is like some great tracks by The Pink Fits, Speedball Baby, Compulsive Gamblers, The Humpers and a few more surprises. Great show, that is if you like your music loud. See ya. http://garagepunk.ning.com/profile/THEPINKFITS http://www.myspace.com/goregoregirls http://www.myspace.com/thepneumonias

Tonight its all here, punk, garage punk, garage rock and even a touch of ska, thanks to the Demolition Doll Rods. We moved some speakers out to the patio so we can piss off all the neighbors, but granny seems to love the Buzzcocks or maybe its that Howard Devoto guy. Strange. I did get to throw in an all time favorite of mine with the Replacements covering an Only Ones tune and its so freakin cool. Check out The Torpedo Monkeys, great song and crazy act, love the Planet of the Apes head gear. There is plenty more to hear so come on in and grab a lawn chair in time for another shot from The Cut in The Hill Gang starring Johnny Walker. Until next time, keeping rockin and thanks for listening. http://www.littleroomrecordco.com/main.html http://garagepunk.ning.com/profile/torpedomonkeys http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=242048787

Here's an episode that kind-of hung around for awhile before I finished it. Didnt know how it was going to end up but how can you go wrong when you lead a show off with The Oblivians and end it with Mary Weiss. Sandwhiched between these two legends is some more trash rock punk garage music that scared the neighbors and had them screaming out their windows for me to shut the garage door. Fuckem. Been hanging around at the Garagepunk hideout and the old Garagepunk forum alot lately, go there: http://garagepunk.ning.com/ http://garagepunk.proboards100.com/index.cgi Email me: mottey63@gmail.com

Last week I caught some of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame ceremonies. Listening to the story of The Ventures and waiting patiently for Iggy Pop to appear kept me awake. Please slap me in the face and tell me I fell asleep. Madonna? Madonna in the Hall. Wow. The place now has come full circle is now a joke. Well, so it goes onand we still have our little garages and houses of noise to keep us entertained. Tonight a variety of bands and people dropped by the garage, with such legendary folks like Bo Diddley, Sham 69 and even a quick appearence by Redd Kross so come on in and shut the door, it's raining cats and dogs outside. mottey63@gmai.com http://www.littleroomrecordco.com/main.html some real hall of fames: http://www.punk77.co.uk/ http://punkmodpop.free.fr/bandslinks.htm

Fifteen inches of snow puts a damper on your social life, kind-of keeps everyone in doors. We had a snow emergency and warnings of "you will be arrested if you are caught driving unless its an emergency." What a bunch of bull. So, being inside for the weekend you would think this show would get out a little bit earlier than it did, but laziness prevailed. Tonights show brings more punk, more garage and more blues to your doorstep. I dont know how this hole rock thing is going to turn out, you know, with the coming death of the big record companies, but the little guys seem to know whats going on. Check out Voodoo Rythm Records web site. It's full of great bands and great free downloads, and of course my new favorite record label, Little Room Records, home of the best story in rock n roll. Hope you enjoy the show and please drop me a note. http://www.voodoorhythm.com/ http://www.littleroomrecordco.com/main.html mottey63@gmail.com

The Little Room is a rock n roll forum dedicated to The White Stripes and todays garage rock, punk, alt, and just about anything else bands. Through their love of music, a few of its members got together and formed a new record label called The LIttle Room Record Company. They just released their first single on shiny new vinyl by The Cut In The Hill Gang, which is led by Johnny Walker from the Soledad Brothers. Now I know rock n roll means different things to different people, but I dont know how anything could be cooler than this, just a bunch of fans, in a little room, becoming a part of what they love, ROCK N ROLL. Go to the link above and buy the single because for one, its in limited supply, and for two, it kicks ass. And yeah, dont forget to listen to episode 17 Buy the forty five here: http://www.littleroomrecordco.com/main.html Here's the forum: http://littleroom.whitestripes.net/index.php?act=idx More on the Band: http://www.myspace.com/cutinthehillgang

Things are getting real simple around these parts. Garage rock. Bringing it back home with bands of today like The Hall Monitors, eighties greats like Yard Trauma, and pioneers like The Groundhogs. They all stopped by the Garage tonight with of bunch of others and we had a footstomping, cave bopping drunk of a good time. It dont stop there, its only the begining because we like to celebrate everynight with the garage door open and the jams thumping. mottey63@gmail.com Johnny Walker has a new band called the Cut In The Hill Gang, pick up their new single here: little room records

Rock n Roll has never been about following directions. Take The Monks, the original anti-Beatles. They were nothing but a group of guys that wanted to be different and now they are finally getting their respect, 45 years later. They rocked from the garage, and that what this show is about, the garage. So come on in and enjoy some cave stomping garage sounds from some of the greatest like The Outcasts, DMZ, The Soledad Brothers and a host of others. Thanks for coming and leave the door open, the neighbors love it all. Mottey63@gmail.com

I also want to thank Radiohead (although I havent played them) for scarying the piss out of a few record exects. The Revolution continues. Thanks Dave Mottey63@gmail.com

Well 2008 is here and I'm still living in 2007, mainly cause I'm a little slow. Last year got me believing in rock n roll again so I want to thank all of the bands that did it for me, like The Black Lips, The Mainliners, The Golden Boys, and a host of others that put out some shit that tickled my soul. This is part one, hope you like it, and thanks for listening. mottey63@gmail.com

The show starts out with a personal feel good song for me. Jonathan Richman's "Goverment Center" Its a celebration song, celebrating the defeat of the mayor who laid off some good fireman. Goodbye Johnboy. Good ridence. Continuing the celebration with some "Pogo Dancing" by Chris Spedding with The Vibrators followed by The Leyton Buzzards "Lets Make a Noise." following with The Horrors "Death at the Chappel" and then Black Francis "Threshold Apprehension." A personnel fave, Mott the Hoople's "The Moon Upstairs" a true punk classic. Next up with punks real begining, The Wailer's "Hang Up," Next a few good modern garage bands with The Despondents, The Hall Monitors, and The Stalkers. Good Shit. Next, a track by Pretty Boy Thorson and the Fallen Angels of their new cd,Take it Easy. Ending with "The Story of My Life," not my story, but Social Distortion's. Thanks for listening and see ya shortly.
