 Before the Nintendo DSi Console reaches its first birthday, its going to get a bigger brother... Smaller than a DS Lite, the Nintendo DSi was launched this April - featuring bigger, brighter screens and two built-in cameras... Today, Nintendo has announced the new extra large Nintendo DSi XL Console, which launches in Japan on the 21st of November, will be released in Europe during the first quarter of 2010. As you can see in the picture above, the DSi XL is basically a bigger version of the DSi console, with 4.2 inch screens and a new Touch Pen stylus. The Nintendo DSi XL will offer 1-3 hrs more battery life and comes pre-loaded with Dr Kawashima's Little Bit of Brain Training: Arts Edition, Dictionary 6 in 1, Flipnote Studio, and the Nintendo DSi Browser. The new Nintendo DSi XL Console will be available in two colours: Wine Red and Dark Brown   Remember when the Nintendo Wii Console was first announced at E3 2005? The early pictures of the Wii (codename: Revolution) all showed a black console. But, when the Wii was launched in 2006, it was only available in white. Nintendo recently, finally released a Black Wii Console in Japan. Today, Nintendo has announced that the Black Wii Console will also be available in the UK from the 6th of November, and goes on sale in the rest of Europe on November 20th. This Limited Edition package has matching black accessories - including Black Wii Remote and Black Nunchuk controllers - and also includes the game Wii Sports Resort with Wii Motion Plus 
Sony are releasing two new PlayStation 3 Console bundles in the UK today. Both packages feature the recently released PlayStation 3 250GB Slim Console with a wireless DualShock 3 controller and retail at £284.99. One bundle comes with the current best-selling game: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and the other includes two blockbuster movies on Blu-ray: The Dark Knight and X-Men Origins: Wolverine PS3 250GB Console + Uncharted 2   The Tokyo Game Show started today with Nintendo announcing the very first official price cut for the Wii Console since its launch in 2006. In the US, the price falls $50 to $199.99. In Japan, its down ¥5,000 to ¥20,000. Nintendo later confirmed that the price of the Wii Console will also be reduced in the UK, and a new console bundle will be introduced on the 2nd of October. It includes Wii Sports Resort with Wii Motion Plus, but will retail at the same price as the original Nintendo Wii Console package: £179.99 
Sony's Keynote Speech at the Tokyo Game Show today opened with some PS3 sales figures: the new PlayStation 3 120GB Slim Console has already sold over 1 million units worldwide since its launch three weeks ago on the 1st of September. And, a new PS3 Slim console was announced, with exactly the same hardware specifications as the current model, but with a 250GB Hard Drive, due to be released early next month! (This is obviously Sony's response to Microsoft's recently revealed XBOX 360 Super Elite 250GB Console.) The new PlayStation 3 250GB Slim Console will be bundled with a wireless DualShock 3 controller and a PS3 game, retailing at £284.99 Visit the official Sony PS3 Slim Console site   The Nintendo DSi Console was launched this April. Smaller than the Nintendo DS Lite, but with bigger screens and two new built-in cameras, the Nintendo DSi is currently available either as a Black or White console. Today, Nintendo have announced that the DSi is due to be released across Europe in three new colours: Light Blue, Metallic Blue and Red 
Details of the new 250GB model of the XBOX 360, to be sold in the UK and Europe with accessories and Forza Motorsport 3 game, were leaked by retailers late last month, and have been officially confirmed by Microsoft today. The Limited Edition XBOX 360 Super Elite 250GB Console goes on sale the same day Forza 3 is released: the 23rd of October. The Microsoft XBOX 360 Super Elite Bundle includes a black XBOX 360 Console with a 250GB Hard Drive, two XBOX 360 Wireless Controllers, XBOX 360 Live Headset and a copy of Forza Motorsport 3, with a RRP of £249.99 (same price as the new PS3 Slim) The USA version of the XBOX 360 Super Elite 250GB Console comes with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 instead of Forza Motorsport 3 
Microsoft has announced an immediate price cut for the XBOX 360 Elite 120GB Console, which will now retail at £199.99 (down by £30). Obviously, this is in response to the new, lower priced Sony PlayStation 3 Slim 120GB Console (RRP £249.99). Microsoft are also increasing the price of the XBOX 360 Arcade to £159.99 (up £30!) And, these will now be the only XBOX 360 Consoles available, as Microsoft are discontinuing the mid-range 60GB Console 
Cologne, Germany: Sony's pre-gamescom Press Conference today climaxed with the announcement of the inevitable smaller and lighter version of the PS3 Console. The new PlayStation 3 Slim and Lite is two-thirds the size and weight of previous models, with lower power consumption. The new console has a textured surface, and includes an internal 120GB Hard Disk Drive and a wireless DualShock 3 controller. While the console has been completely redesigned, it inherits the cutting-edge functions of the previous model: Cell Broadband Engine multi-core processor, Blu-ray disc player, Wi-Fi, HDMI output, etc. Available from 1st September 2009, the Sony PlayStation 3 120GB Slim Console will retail at £249.99. The current model PS3, the big and shinny PlayStation 3 80GB Console is now reduced in price by £50 to also sell for £249.99, while stocks last...   Wii Sports Resort takes place on the tropical island of Wuhu, providing you with 12 fun sports activities to participate in: Basketball, Golf, Frisbee, Archery, Swordplay, Wakeboarding, Table Tennis, Bowling, Power Cruising (on a Jet Ski), Canoeing, Cycling and Air Sports (including Skydiving and flying an airplane). Demonstrated at E3 2008 last year, Wii Sports Resort takes the intuitive controls of the original Wii Sports game to the next level, sensing players' movements with even greater accuracy via the included Wii Motion Plus accessory. The Wii Motion Plus add-on plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and gives players a much more responsive and realistic experience. Wii Sports Resort is released today for the Nintendo Wii Wii Sports Resort + Wii Motion Plus   One of the highlights of today's Microsoft Press Conference at E3 2009 was a preview of the HALO 3 prequel HALO 3: ODST, and the announcement of a new HALO game in development, HALO: Reach (Right-click & “Save Target As...” to Download) HALO 3: ODST is set in the year 2552, a couple of weeks before the start of HALO 3. You play as a member of an elite squad of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, sent into the Covenant controlled city of New Mombasa. Released on the 22nd of September for XBOX 360, Bungie promises that HALO 3: ODST will deliver "new twists and turns... new weapons, new technology, and new game modes". Bungie's presentation showed the opening scenes of HALO 3: ODST, revealing that you will experience the main campaign from the viewpoint of the other ODSTs in your squad during the game. Bungie also released a new ODST trailer, featuring more in-game action... (Right-click & “Save Target As...” to Download) "Another team at Bungie has been hard at work on a top secret project..." HALO: Reach is a prequel to the entire HALO series. Apart from a teaser trailer, few other details were disclosed, except that an invitation to the multiplayer beta of HALO: Reach will be included with ODST. EA Sports Active is released today exclusively for the Nintendo Wii Console. Designed in collaboration with fitness experts (video), the EA Sports Active: Personal Trainer package includes the software, a Leg Strap (video) and a Resistance Band (video). EA Sports Active offers a wide range of exercises & sports activities that target both upper body and lower body, as well as providing a cardiovascular workout (video). The Personal Trainer software (video) tracks your body movements via the hand-held Wii Remote with the Nunchuk tucked into the Leg Strap. The Wii Balance Board is not required, but there are additional features designed especially for use with the Board (video). You can exercise alone, with the Virtual Trainer providing instruction, motivation and encouragement; or workout with friends by using additional Accessory Packs   At the 2009 Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Activision have announced that a sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be released this November. The original developers of the Call of Duty series, Infinity Ward, are producing Modern Warfare 2 for PC, PlayStation 3 and XBOX 360 The Game Developers Choice Awards have seen Sony's LittleBigPlanet winning Best Debut, Best Game Design, Innovation and Best Technology. EA's sci-fi thriller Dead Space won the award for Best Audio, Prince of Persia won Best Visual Art, and Best Handheld Game was awarded to God of War: Chains of Olympus for PSP. The Game of the Year, and Best Writing, were claimed by Bethesda's Fallout 3. A Lifetime Achievement Award was given to the creator of Metal Gear Solid: Hideo Kojima   Originally only available in black, the Sony PSP 3000 Console was launched last October. The same size as the Sony PSP 2000 Slim & Lite Console, the new 3000 model also includes a built-in microphone and features a higher-definition, anti-reflective screen. Released today, the Sony PSP 3000 Console is now available in three new colors: Red, White and Silver 
At last! Sony's eagerly awaited virtual world for the PlayStation 3 finally enters into Open BETA today. PlayStation Home allows you to create your own personalized avatar and interact with other PS3 users in online environments. The concept of a virtual meeting space for PlayStation owners has been in development for several years... With the PlayStation 3 Console on sale in the US and Japan, and about to be launched in Europe, PlayStation Home was officially announced at the 2007 Game Developers Conference, initially scheduled for release in October 2007. Home has been delayed, twice, while the virtual world has been refined and vastly expanded... Back in July, Microsoft revealed that Bungie are working on a new HALO game for the XBOX 360 Console. Exactly a year after the release of the record-breaking HALO 3, a very brief teaser trailer for the new HALO appeared on the Bungie website. The full trailer for HALO 3: Recon was showcased at the Tokyo Game Show last month. Today, Bungie announced that Recon has been renamed HALO 3: ODST. This is a completely new campaign which does not require the original HALO 3 game to play, but it also includes all the HALO 3 multiplayer maps. HALO 3: ODST is due to dropship Autumn 2009 (Right-click & “Save Target As...” to Download)   Tomb Raider: Underworld features a new graphics engine designed to exploit the next-gen' capabilities of the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft XBOX 360, giving Lara Croft an advanced physical athleticism motion-captured from a world-class gymnast. New Lara model Alison Carroll: “It’s unbelievable how realistic her movements are..." Developers Eidos: "Tomb Raider has never looked, acted or played so life-like before... Tomb Raider: Underworld is released today for PC, PlayStation 3, XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii, NDS & PS2   Released today, the new Guitar Hero: World Tour Band comes complete with game disc, microphone, wireless guitar controller and a wireless drum kit. Competing with Rock Band, this is the first in the Guitar Hero series to feature additional accessories along with an upgraded, touch-sensitive guitar (video). The high-performance microphone plugs into a USB port, and the wireless drum kit (video) features five velocity-sensing drum pads (including high-hat and cymbal) mounted on a collapsible stand, with a non-slip foot pedal and authentic wood drum sticks. Guitar Hero: World Tour Band allows you to customize your own Rock Star or choose from several famous in-game music artists. This historical first-person shooter has you fighting to survive many of the brutal climatic battles of the Second World War: taking you from the devastated cities of Europe, to the jungles of the Pacific, to the depths of Imperial Japan. You play as a U.S. Marine or Russian conscript through a variety of infantry, vehicle and airborne missions. Call of Duty: World at War uses an enhanced version of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare graphics engine, producing effects such as wood that splinters realistically and fires that spread organically. Music ranges from classical to rock to famous Nintendo tunes, including themes from Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. You can also improvise your own music, or take the role of orchestra conductor. Play along with friends or control several band members on your own. No musical experience is necessary, all you need is a sense of rhythm and you can play any of the various musical instruments available   The Locust Horde are back, destroying entire cities. This time, Delta Squad are taking the fight to the enemy... Gears of War 2 takes the award-winning gameplay of the original, bestselling tactical third-person shooter Gears of War and improves upon it with many major enhancements. The revolutionary cover system has been further refined, making it more intuitive, and even the bodies of fallen enemies can now be picked up and used as “meat shields”. In Gears of War 2, environments are destructible and combat is even more intense with the inclusion of brutal chainsaw duels. Ensemble have also revealed details of a HALO WARS: Limited Collectors Edition, featuring: game disc, HALO WARS: Genesis graphic novel, six Leader Cards, a UNSC Spirit of Fire patch, and early access to the Mythic Map Pack from Bungie, which includes three new multiplayer maps for HALO 3 (Right-click & “Save Target As...” to Download)   Demos of LittleBigPlanet gained a lot of attention at this year's E3 2008, with cute characters exploring a creative world of endless possibilities...
