Arguably one of the most dynamic and influential politicians of the last 10-15 years. Colin Powell has been in the background of numerous presidents and changed the way the U.S. has operated on a number of very high profile issues. I have always had a great admiration for him and after reading this great interview from GQ magazine, with him, I completely stand behind that statement again. If you can, I would highly recommend reading the online interview they have, with some great insight into what he has been through and what he envisions for the future of our country. My life seems to be pretty crazy. I am constantly talking about a new project here or a new idea that'll "change the world" or a book concept or whatever. Problem is, I am constantly writing out these ideas and spawning off other ideas from those ideas. So the question is, how do you manage multiple projects with limited time available each day without putting one project to the side and never returning to it? In comes GTD or Getting Things Done. Not necessarily a new concept but one that has been getting a lot of attention lately, as many people, like myself, seem to be getting overwhelmed by the amount of work needed to complete their tasks.

I ran across this link today and thought it was really cool and fascinating and just thought I would pass it along. The source is from Deputy-Dog.com. 7 Amazing Holes of the world

I was at Barnes and Noble the other day looking for a few books, see 7 Day Detox and Death by Powerpoint; and was walking up to the register when I saw a table full of books with a sale sign above it. Tons of great reprints like stuff and periods from Sun Tu's Art of War to Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment (one of my favorite books/author).

I have tried to be pretty addiment about getting into shape. I drink lots of water, otherwise jokingly known as "The Water Diet" among my family; take my multivitamin, some essential oils (fish and flaxseed) and about 1000mg of Vitamin C everyday (when I can remember to that is).

Well, as I have yet to get through this I can't comment on it too much yet. I have read many reviews on this and picked it up as soon as I was able to. The main thrust of the book deals with office workers (like yours truly) and how to deal with the everyday annoyances (cube mates and managers anyone?) that accompany any good cubicle resident. The first couple chapters that I have gotten through are definitely funny and so true it almost seemed like he sat in my cube and wrote about what he saw. Pick it up if you can. Link to book on Barnes and Noble after the jump.

Now while I haven't actually read this book. This is the basis for the "Water Diet" that I joke about with my family. My dad told me about this about a year ago and I have tried to stick to the pricipales of it since he told me......

This is pretty much my first foray into the blogging scene, other than commenting on other peoples blogs.
