Got a lil jam when getting into Msia...at 737pm so that papa can avoid the news where his piggy face appeared. Steakii found out that Xiao Jing Teng is jam, so i'm now called kaya steakii. With my lil brudddddder named butter.

we reached just before 10, and steakii was starving and gobbled up the peanuts.

Their zhao pai toufu, sambal kangkong - both nicely done. In fact mama commented that this meal was better than the last time we went - prolly becoz at 10pm, the cooks dont have to deal with the overwhelming crowd.

And then...chilli crab - 2 small ones - too small for mama the crab lover; sotong-kia, papa's favourite.

Nice meal after driving 2.5 hrs there..to eat for an hour and drive 2.5 hrs back. Don't ask me why my papa & mama so boliao, as long as steakii get to eat foodie can liaoz!

This is the last installment of steakii's holiday in Cameron!
In case you missed it, Day 1 is here and Day 2 is here.

Steakii drinkg Milk-Tea cos no milk so must get the milk from the tea
papa ate the wanton mee and mama ate the chicken mee. the both of them must be hungry because they finsh everyyhing so fast so tat they can go to the boh plantation which was closed on monday - dumbasses!

papa decide to pay RM17 to wash moo-moo throughly incluyding vacuuming the insides after neglecting it for 2 months and even make it go up mt brinchang. poor moo-moo!

we had sconie before leaving tanah ratah cos the two gluttons miss the sconie there! yum yum
In the end, papa and mama go to cameron valley tea plantaion to buy tea instead!

Hiyo everybody...its me Steakii again bouncing over the keyboard!!

Papa & Mama haven been cooking foodie since my last update. Mama did her eyes so she cant see shit, and papa pohposed, so they always go out and eat and settle thingy for 0101.

Anyway damsel invited us to her birthday chalet at Pasir Ris, and other than foodie, the two gluttons din take any other photos.

Chicky were marinated by papa, and they were grilled to perfection , soft and tender, yet cooked! Even the ends were cooked. This is the first time mama said she likes own DIY BBQ chicky wing because all parts were cooked. Unlike the stove top grill, a charcoal grill seems to bring out flavours better....and papa suffered from the ill effects of the smoke coz got big pimples! They also did butter /sambal prawns, yummy teriyaki sotongs (no pic sobz) and mama very xi xin cut up all the sausage, sotong ball and chicky wings so that the 2 gluttons can easier eat in front of the tv.
This cheesiecake is for damsie birthday and orchestrated by mama n steakii!! Steakii bounce bounce all over the oreo biskie to make into crust and top. Papa didn't buy enough oreo because mama didnt give precise instructions, so we ended up with a heart shaped top. Even though we didnt use all cream cheese, it still tasted quite cheesy! The cheesecake tasted like choco mousse (too gooey) and mama & papa had a shouting match on whose cake for damsie was better ( we did a tiramisu last yr for her) until steakii brought out foodie did they stopped. Hee.

Mama got her cheesiecake recipe from FP, where many people tried and suggested modifications...so here I present..."Bernice's Oreo cheesecake" (with suggested modifications by podders)

Ingredients
- 2 packet(250g each) Philadelphia Cream cheese [
we replaced half of them with mascapornie cheese]
- 2 eggs
[mehz& pudz one has no raw eggs]
- 1/2 butter block of 250g
- Sugar [
we used 8 teaspoons coz our choco was unsweetened baking choc]
- Chocolate Chip
- 6 pcs Oreo biscuit
- 6 pcs digestive biscuit

First u have to do the Base (crust) of the cake:
1. Crush the digestive biscuits into bits -the smaller the better (to replace with oreo biscuit w/o cream to stick better)
2. Melt the 1/2 block of butter
3. Prepare a container (16cm )

4. Lay the biscuit bits onto the tray until it covers the entire tray, about 1 - 2 cm thick
5. Use a spoon and add bit by bit of melted butter onto the biscuit and press using the back of the spoon. Press hard for it to stick better *Amount to use depends on how well it sticks, normally around 10 teaspoons needed ( A better replacement of this method is to mix butter and biscuit before hand then lay into tray)
6. Make sure e crust is thick and cover fully so that u can cut the crust up in a piece

Next you have to do the filling part: *U need a mixer to beat the mix better
1. Beat up the 2 pack of cream cheese in a big bowl into cream like
2. Add in to eggs, 6 teaspoon of sugar and the rest of the butter (no don’t do this!! Will be too waterly, just 3-4 TEASPOONS of the leftover butter) and beat evenly
3. Melt chocolate chips or any other chocolate bar and add them into the mix if u like chocolatey taste!
4. Crush the Oreo cookies into small bits (not too small so that u can chew it =P) and add them into the mix
5. Beat the mix

Lastly:
1. Pour the ready mix onto the crust.
2. Press slightly to prevent air bubble
3. Sprinkle choc chip, disgestive biscuits or oreo bits if u like
4. Wrap the tray with plastic wrap and put into the fridge for around 4 hours and Serve!! [8 hrs for better effect] DO NOT FREEZE

Hiyo...its me again, Steakii the preeeeeetie cow! EEeeeeeEEEeee.

Today has no foodie in this post, but steakii is happie *bounce bounce*

Mama washed me the other day because we are going to.....

...South pole!!!Because steakii now has a god-cousin! The other day I went to visit her, all she does is zzzz or open her eyes to look at me. She doesnt move and she doesnt play toy with me. I kick her on the head and she still doesnt play toy with me. In the end I decided to just Zzzz with her on the beddie then. But my mama say she will grow up to grab me and eat me up as beef burger!

Soon, steakii can sleep with both papa & mama everyday (and of coz turtle!) and have 2 toys to play!! WHY? Coz I helpch papa ask mama to totter together for life with him. Asshole papa stuck the sticky thing on my head for 2 days! *kicks papa* But mama after saying "maserati"....and "asshole" (because of coke ring) ...also said yes!

Gravy too thick!! Noodle was fried just nice! but alas too much corn flour everywhere else. Pity.

We referenced two recipes....here and here.
  Sat, 17 May 2008 04:11:00 +0200
Beef in red wine. Result: Beef too tough coz overcooked as we used sukiyaki slices instead of diced beef but yet stuck to the timing. We donno how much a red wine glass is, so it is too little in the end + we mistaken an apple in the fridge for a tomato, so we had one tomato less than what is needed. Else, actually not too bad a saucey.

The fried fish was burnt just nice, but no chilli smell on it. However the cheapos bought the $1/fish and turn out got the grassie smell in the fish. Are fishies vegetarian?

Damsie bought us deserts!! But damsie...raspberry ripple is majority vanilla! *pouts*

Who washed the dishy? Damsie, thanks!

Beef in red wine recipe http://www.recipezaar.com/188545
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lb steak, diced
  • 3 onion, sliced
  • 3 garlic clove, finely sliced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 glasses red wine
  • 400 g chopped tomato
  • Heat athe oil in a pan. Fry steak for 2 mins until brown. Remove steak to a plate then throw the onions and garlic and oregano into the pan. Fry for 5 minutes until starting to turn golden. Tip the wine and tomatoes into the pan, then simmer for 10 mins until thickened and rich. Return the meat to the pan with any juices, then simmer for a few minutes to reheat.
New dishy from papa and mama! Mama fried black bean with bittergourd that was a bit salty and a bit raw but the gluttons, together with pretty damsie ate everything up. The gluttons also decided to play with the new grill and grilled some marinated chicken that was a bit too salty and not-that-cooked.
The steamed fishy was yum yyum with lots of spring onions and ginger! But too bad damsie dun really like fishie never eat alot and the glutton mama and papa eat and eat everything up!

Who washed the dishy? As usual...damsie!!

Bittergourd with egg, fermented black beans and wolfberries (serves 2) http://www.noobcook.com/2008/01/17/bittergourd-with-egg-fermented-black-beans-and-wolfberries/

    150g bittergourd
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tbsp wolfberries
    1 tsp fermented black beans
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1 tbsp chopped garlic
    1. Cut bittergourd to half (length-wise) and use a spoon to scoop out the seeds. Slice bittergourd thinly.
    2. Heat oil in wok and stir fry garlic and fermented black beans till fragrant.
    3. Add bittergourd slices and stir fry over high heat for about 2 minutes.
    4. Reduce heat, add wolfberries and continue to stir fry. When bittergourd is almost cooked, pour the beaten egg slowly over the bittergourd. Stir till the egg is cooked and dry. Serve.

    Steamed fish recipe http://www.eatingchina.com/recipes/steamed-fish.htm
1 medium-sized white fleshed whole fish (such as sea bass or red snapper)
    Salt
    2 stalks scallions
    3 or 4 slices ginger
    2 tablespoons soy sauce
    1/2 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
    1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    Few sprigs coriander leaves
    1. Rinse and drain fish.
    2. On both sides of fish, cut deep incisions across width at 3 cm (1") intervals.
    3. Sprinkle with salt inside and out.
    4. Cut scallions into 2 or 3 sections, then slice lengthways into thin strips. Julienne ginger slices. Insert scallions and ginger into incisions – any excess can be placed inside fish.
    5. Place fish in a steamer. Steam on a medium heat for about 10 minutes.
    6. Place fish on a serving dish.
    7. Mix soy sauce and vinegar and pour over fish.
    8. *Remove water from wok. Add oil to wok, heat till sizzling and pour over fish.

ALLO! My name is steakii and i'm reporting from Geylang! Luckily I'm a cow so no uncle find me! My papa and mama come here because the glutton papa got craving for roast duckie rice and they decided to try their luck at this Tang Ji instead of going to 933 duckie rice to become carrots!
The duckie rice cost $3 dollars and comes with tender meat with crispy roasted duck skin. It was so yum-yum that papa finished all the duckie meat first! (the glutton mama also helped in finishing the duckie. ONly steakii not a glutton!)
Luckily steakii got no long neck or the glutton papa and mama will eat me up!
Tthey had pork trotters in vinegar which tasted exactly like how my grandma used to cook it. At least now I know how to literally have a taste of yesteryears.
      Sun, 04 May 2008 04:26:00 +0200
My mama once told my papa that if she wants to go jalan kaya eat prata, the papa should drive her there! But only 1 sunnie after then did my paap finally drive my mama to eat at Jalan Kayu! But no prata the two gluttons eat, only indian rojak and a huge plate of mutton murtabak (see bottom)!

Today we invited damsie to have dinner with us. Mehmeh said that presentation must be nice, so puddy digged out 3 nice western food plates to use.

First off is the butter rice, a search on the internet shows not a lot of people cook this, so I just trusted one of the 2 recipe. I was wary about the amount of water, but it turned out quite fragrant and suitably textured . Though I would think it needs more butter, but lil lamb says it's just nice.

The veggies broccoli & corn (yes, always the less main dishy) were microwaved by puddy; Then the lil lamb read somewhere that when baking fish, having a bed of herbs underneath will prevent the fish from sticking to the pan and so he decides to do that to the frying pan by laying a bed onions for the salmon to lie on. It worked! The fish didn't stick. But the onion underneath did.

The chicky is as usual, tough. Next time must get drumsticks instead of the cheapo fillet which is so tough that kenna hiammie by the glutton puddy. Second time in a row she hiammed that the chicky is tough(first time was last week at igloo)! The marinate is also not quite there yet considering the chicky was only dunk in for an hour. But all in all, it's a yum yum and filling meal!

A lil teriyaki chicky sauce on the rice, and that completes this meal. (except for the soupie, which was very salty even though i followed the can instructions. Maybe cos it's expiring!)

    Who washed the dishy? Damsie....thanks!!

    Butter rice (http://www.grouprecipes.com/15628/butter-rice.html)
    4 cup of rice
    5 1/2 cup water
    2 chicken cube paste
    100 gram butter
    2 red onion slice
    1/2 cup raisin

first clean the rice. melt the butter in a pot. then put the onion. after onion already smell out, put the rice and stir well. add water, chicken cube and also raisin and everything else into the rice cooker to cook

    Pan-fried salmon (http://www.mealsmatter.org/recipes-meals/recipe/11896)

    Teriyaki chicken(http://japanesefood.about.com/od/teriyakisauce/r/teriyakichicken.htm)
Make a guess where this picture was taken =p
The POOR papa had to prepare dinner while the mama slept after that hearty lunch! The meh meh cooked deep-fried chicken meat patty which took a horrible long time to prepare because you have to mince the chicken fillet together with spring onion, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, egg white, corn flour than steam it before you deep fry it.

The salt-pepper prawn was also tough to prepare because you have to clean the prawn, deep fry it and then stir-fry with spring onion, chili, garlic and ginger. When everything is done, generously add salt and pepper before serving.

The kai-lian was normal, using the juice from the steamed chicky to stir fry with ginger. The roast porky was contributed by puddy's papa and meh meh lightly toast the pork in the toaster to make the skin crispy!

Notice the steam eggy at the edge of the table? The puddy tried cooking steamy eggy again and this time, it is nice and soft. yum yum!

Who washed the dishy? Pudding. And she also mopped the floor.

The lucky steakii tagged along with us to the most expensive lunch meh meh have ever eaten!

The mama ordered lime juice while mehmeh had a thai iced tea ($3 and $4 dollars respectively)
The $15 dollars phai tai that can actually feed two!
The red duck curry that has lots of yummy duck meat and veggies! ($18 dollars)
Stuffed chicken wings that cost $3 dollars each. Very very yummy with asparagus and dunno-what-else. Great with Chilli! We also ordered a curry long beans with prawn that is good, but nothing to shout about, considering that it is long beans anyway.

The $6 dollars yummy mango rice that is the best meh meh have EVER eaten.

This little lunch exercise set the poor woolly lamb another $75 bucks poorer.
      Sat, 26 Apr 2008 15:50:00 +0200
Princess was home alone so meh meh and puddy decided to cook at south pole and pei the princess! The meh meh steamed a pomfret with salted veggie and tomatoes, pan-fried chicky with BBQ sauce and dou-miao with oyster sauce. The puddy also steamed another eggy to perfeeect her eggy steaming skills.

Somehow the meh meh was still hungry after the dinner and started munching on whatever foodie he can find in the frige (like chocolate, nougat and strawberry yogurt drink!)

The naughty steakii stole the papa and mama alcohol drink of blackcurrent hooch later in the night!

    Who washed the dishy? Princess
      Tue, 22 Apr 2008 15:39:00 +0200
Mehmeh missed puddy and came to pick her up for a lunchie rendevous without the nottie steakii so we can have some 2-people-world time.

Not a lot of stalls are open at the hawker centre for lunchie in ECP. Every row has only 1, max 2 stalls open. So we thot since no one here, and should not be wait long, we eat the famous duckie rice. End up my mehmeh queued quite long...-_-

We duno if the uncle charged right a not...it was only $7.50 for the normal duck rice + stuff that we added.

This was the car that my mehmeh used to pick puddy. It looks like that, complete with the "Alfa 147" plate. Its a small car that can do both auto & manual and the best thing is, can raise the armrest and I can huggie the wooolly lamb. Hee
      Sun, 20 Apr 2008 15:34:00 +0200

Puddy dump tomatoes, potatoes, porkie, carrots, radish and onions into the slow cooker to make nice yum yum soupie for me to drink! Then meh-meh decided to cook cream garlic prawn to make it a nice homely dinner for 2 gluttons and a steakii. The soup is pretty pretty sweet but the cream prawn was marred by the fact that the meh-meh used celery soup base for the prawn cream. No rice was being cooked as potatoes was the order for the day! (two, to be exact)Steakii, after coming back from her adventures in cameron, got a bath! Now, stop staring at her naked body!!!

    Who washed the dishy? Mehz
I going with papa & mama to eat beef burger! Becoz papa has a $2 off set meal voucher from prettieeeee girl.
      Sat, 12 Apr 2008 15:05:00 +0200

Steakii jump into the bag at night in case the mama and papa forget to bring me to Cameron next morning!

In the morning, papa forget to set the alarm and we never get up at 5.00am! And we slept until 6am and by the time we get to the car, we were already one hour late! The piggies!

Steakii goes through johor and pass through Danga bay again! Got big cupbarn that mama always say she want!

When we got to the NSH, papa drove the moo-moo into the mist and it looks so nice, like we were in the cloudy!

The mama rush to the toilet! And then rush to buy Ramly chicky burger and steam corn to eat. That glutton!

Moo-moo taking a break at Tapah, the base of Cameron highlands!

Papa and mama bring me to Kumar Restoran to eat Tandoori chicken and chocolate milkshake. But I have to swish my tail and twitch my ear because flies are everywhere!

Mama went to the KHM farm to eat strawberry ice cream and strawberry milkshake but dun have! Luckily clever steakii quickly took a bite off the strawberries when the owner was not looking! And papa was there looking at all the aunties!

Because mama say no milkshake and strawberry ice-cream, my poor papa got to drive the mama to the big red strawberry farm to find for milkshake and strawberry ice-cream! That mama so glutton! Luckily Steakii know how to eat healthily and decide to munch on lettuce!

See the strawberry milkshake and fried vanilla ice-cream that the gluttons eat! And on the way down, papa stepped into wet cement and left his woolly totter print on the slopes of the entrance to the strawberry farm. The poor papa have to use the $1 mineral water that he bought from Singapore the day before to wash his totters!

After that, papa and mama bring me to the Cameron pasar malam and the gluttons shop and shop for dried strawberries! And the rain never stop the gluttons for buying their dinner there. The gluttons bought steam corn, steam sweet potato, fried mushroom, fried long bean, fried sotong, friend chicky bone, fried chicky liver, cheesy sausage and mushroom sausage to bring back to the hotel to eat!

Stay tuned for more of steakii adventures at Cameron! EeeeeEeeee
      Sat, 12 Apr 2008 04:20:00 +0200
    Load of photos coming up!!
Because steakii was lazy in sorting them until now! Part I is here.

    Hotel's breakiefast. not very appetising.

So steakii settled for yummy bugs-free grass instead!!

Moo moo totter us up to the weather station....and gosh moo moo was balancing on the slope! Steakii got a bit sunburnt here coz it was midday and sun shone straight on my milky nose.... In the background can see nice houses

Lunch at Yoo Hoo. Herbal chicky, assam fisshy and sambal kangkong!

Went to MARDI, with manmade lil waterfall behind and lots & lots of pretty flowers. I wonder if there are turtles in the pond?

Pretty steakii with "gui ah" mama & pretty flowers

We tottered out and started tottering to find a waterfall!! But but...there was a sign that says....JAMS in the middle of the forest! Makes steakii feel like abandoning the walk to sit down and gooble up all the homemade jams - blueberry, strawberry! Can even see the blueberries growing outside the jam house.

But mama stuffed me into the bag and carried me along.

    Robinson's waterfall!

Papa did some exploring and decided to get us to Blue Valley. Unfortunately, blue valley has nothing. It is just a name for this place. Steakii balancing on the divider between the 2 way road. What's on the side of the road??

    Hee, some farms....

Then we went to cameron bharat tea plantation because....Boh tea estate shop is closed on Mondays!!

Enjoying a piece of strawberry cheesecake and tea.

But I had to twitch twitch my ears and tail here too...coz, can you see the obscene amount of flies??

Trusty ole moomoo slowly totter up the curvy road to...MT brinchang!!

On the top of MT brinchang, steakii is carried up in a paper baggie. Hee safe and warm.

Mama & papa & lil steakii in the clouds, waiting to catch the sunset....

However we didnt manage to see any at all...becoz papa was freezing n needs to share the paper baggie with me! *kicks* Furthermore papa said so many cloudie sure block the sun. So we said bye to mr sunnie and came down....BUT!!!.....

....Raining heavily on the way down!!!

It's ok....we'll eat some steamyboat in the rain to make up for the extreme cold just now...and that ends Steakii's Day 2 at cameron. Stay tuned.....for Part 3!

      Wed, 02 Apr 2008 03:36:00 +0200
A search on the tags in our bloggie has turned out evidence that of the 4 times that we tried to steam eggies, it is either too hard & too hard again, too soft, or half hard half soft.

As puddy is usually in charge of this dishy becauze it is considered as a very simple dishy (as compared to fried fishies), I can say that I feel like mei you lian jian ren that my lamb has gotten the fish correct yet for 4 times I failed to cook a steamed eggy. =(

Our next meal will have steamed eggy done by puddy...and it shall be perfect!

A search on google showed that for the steam eggies to turn out nice, with or without porkie inside is to...

    1) add water/stock the same volume as the eggy, or for large eggs can try 100ml to one egg. (I have seen recipes with even more, so more water wont kill it!)
    2) put it on the steam above simmering (not boiling) water, so that it will turn out without pockmarks
    3) stick a knife thru the center ..and KILL IT! heee, no la, to see if it is still runny when deciding cooked already a not.

Other tips...usually 2-3 eggs to one teaspoon of soya sauce/salt + some pepper. if got porky can add it into the porky. Can add sesame oil to porky too. Usually is garnished with spring onions.

Stay tuned to see if I suceed a not. Well, if i don post soon...you know puddy is hiding under the beddie.

Today is the day. The day where meh meh successfully fried not one, but two fishy! meh meh also for the first time steamed chicky wings (1 tablespoon soy sauce, 2 tablespoon rice wine, dash of sugar and salt, ginger slices. dried mushrooms and wolfberry!) which is yummy~ We also cooked the-vegetable-that-I-can-never-learn-to-spell with oyster sauce in a rare 3 yummy dishy combo (usually one or two dishy is 难吃 one)

    Pisces fried!
This picture shows cows are not vegetarians!

    Who washed the dishy? Mehmeh

    Recipe for broccoli (http://recipesgalore.com.au/vegetarian-recipes/vegetarian-recipe-chinese-style-broccoli/)

    1 large size broccoli
    1 teaspoon oil
1 teaspoon grated ginger (need to have more...)
1 tablespoon oyster sauce (1 more tablespoon)
1 tablespoon soy sauce (1 more tablespoon)
    1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoon cornflour (too much! reduce to 1 teaspoon)
    Salt to taste

Cut the flower heads from broccoli stems. Peel the stem and slice into bite size pieces. Boil a small amount of lightly salted water in a saucepan and drop in stems. When water starts to boil, add the florets. Cook for 1 minute or until the bright green. Lift out the broccoli with a slotted spoon. Reserve 1/2 cup of water.

In a wok, heat oil, stir fry ginger for 1/2 minute. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar & reserved water & bring to boil. Blend cornflour with 1 teaspoon of cold water & combine with the boiling sauce. Let the sauce thicken. Toss in broccoli pieces and coat with the sauce.

damsie visited cupboard and we decided to cook up a feast. And the menu for the night was - a 1/2 fried black promfret, black chicken, kan lan and 1/2 hard 1/2 soft eggy with porky. As usual, the puddy hiammed that the fishy not fried enough. But meh meh indigently said it was only his 4th try and should cover some slack.

And slack was what the meh meh got as damsie brought her special potions; Cola Bourbon and the meh meh decided to give the hyper active steakii some to see what happens.

    Who washed the dishy?
Papa! And he also mopped the floor because the frying of the fish caused oil to splatter all over the kitchen. After that, meh meh was hiding under the bed
Actually papa and mama already wanna go this Pengerrang for seafoodie as discussed earlier in the week. But that princess never confrim not going until 3+pm. After that they got me ready and wanted to go , so shunbian ask Grandpa. At first he say dowan...after 5 mins he change his mind. Like grandpa like mama!

Papa had checked the camera before leaving cupborad. No traffic at Woodlands checkpoint. Tis time i din hide even if i had no passport, coz they not looking for a cow. They looking for the terrorist who will kill them!

    Uneventful journey into Johor Bahru

,This cupbarn looks quite big and nice right? Onwards is sorta like developing malls, food centres etc...called Danga Bay. However...this is the WRONG way! Papa got lost the first time....straight after entering JB, so we U turn back.

Aafter papa took the flyover instead of the normal roads and therefore unable to turn at the correct place. Papa lost 2nd time! This photo was taken after we U-turn back and at the correct junction to turn.

Traffic was quite heavy in the JB towns

    The skies were preeety.

Single -lane road on both sides. If there was a slow moving car in the lane, it will hold up the whole traffic behind it until the cars behind it overtake one by one. However, it is quite dangerous acoording to papa, to overtake coz there will be cars heading towards u on the other side and sometimes u cant see becoz of the hills and valleys and the turns on this kinda road. I saw some chiongsters just vroom vroom and overtake like one whole stretch of cars.
There was one case of a SHELL tanker crawling at ~70 holding up the whole line of cars behind it. Another was a police car and we were debating if we should overtake as it was varying between 70-90km/h. We scared that the police will ask for peanuts for speeding! We let one other SG car try first before we did it too. Papa likes to drive 120 on those roads when he can.

The single-lane road actually entertained the bored mama. She would look and look and give comments like "cut him cut him!" or else she will count the cars in front and behind, and track the positions of the cars naming them by their no. plates eg. JED

More photos of the nice grasslands beside the roads. The roads were bumpy though...I bounced up and down the moo moo.

Before we get to the restaurant, papa was lost the 3rd time. The 3rd time is the most funny. We turned moo moo into Desaru at the spoilt traffic light jucntion (1st time) , after travelling a while, papa think not quite correct so he wanted to U-turn. He went to one side of the 2-lane road and swang a wide turnaround, but he forgot Grandpa at the back never put on seat belt and swung Grandpa from one side to the other!! I donno how many choppers he get after that!!

After that we got back to the spoilt traffic light junction (2nd time) to continue on str where we left off. After a while papa think the Desaru road is correct, so once again, we went back to that route again after U-turning and passing thru the traffic light junction (3rd time)!

At the restaurant, waiting for foodie. Seems like whole restaurant full of Singaporeans. I saw some Ang Mohs too...probably from Desaru.

The foodie vegiies and fried tofu came pretty fast. The veggie was simply done with just garlic and ginger(?) but taste was there. The fried tofu mama felt that cameron one is better.

Some assholes at the next table, party of about 8 of them, came before us and held up the whole queue for the seafood. We finished our first 2 dishy and had to wait quite long for the next 2. The gluttons mama papa and grandpa ate up the butter lobster before taking the photo! AT RM78 for 4, should be considered a steal. However, the ever hiammie mama felt that the butter taste in the lobster is not really there, even though the crust had the buttery taste.

Lucky papa clever and ordered the chili crab, coz after grandpa went to the toilet and back first thing he asked was "got order crabbie a not?". SAuce was a bit too sweet (yeah courtesy of the hiammie mama), but otherwise fine.

Not wanting to waste the chili crab sauce, they each had a mantou. YEah as usual they forgot about steakii and only ordered 3!

The gluttons finish up the foodie quite fast! And then papa & mama had a c-o-c-o-n-u-t.

The journey home was less of a hassle compared to gg there. Less slow moving cars and as usual dark dark roads. There were a total of 4 dead dogs on the middle of the roads to and fro this journey. Poor doggies. Mama hug me tite tite and told me not to anyhow bounce across roads!

Papa wanted to explore Desaru on the way back but Grandpa say dowan coz its late at night. So he and mama agreed next time to go again. I wonder if i can find turtles there.

And then it happened. We were following the signs to "woodlands" and going on fine until there was a block by the traffic police to not let us into the road that is going woodlands. We followed a SG car infront to go by an alternative way.

Grandpa kept saying to go by 2nd link, by pointing at the signs. But papa was afraid of getting lost, as that same signs also point to KL. In the end we had to stop at the malaysian juice station to ask for directions. In the end we managed to find our way back to the alternative road thru...DANGA BAY! Heee, the place we got lost earlier.

    When we finally got there......
We were stuck in the jam from 1030 pm all the way to 1am before we reached the JB customs. I didn't know they were also searching for the terrorist.

Papa was looking at a crazy guy drive so aggresively - a red plate chevrolet avon. He go so close so close to the car in front until his car touch the ass of the other car. And everytime he thinks the next line moves faster he will put his one wheel in and cut in.

Grandpa kept saying that malaysia cannot come one, will always jam, which made mama a bit irritated because just earlier he said friday nite no jam. "Everything also he say " she complained to papa later.

So steakii has now been to Kukup (click here for prev entry), and now Pengerrang! Overall mama think that Kukup has nicer foodie, cheaper and less time to drive there. However papa say Kukup has no lobsters!
By this time, i'm totally confused because the lamb can't make lamb-sense on the difference between a grill and a Teflon pan on a stove. But doesn't matter, we did what we can to come up with the delicious grilled salmon (by what definition do you call a salmon grilled is entirely up to you) and grilled prawns (which technically should be called toasted prawns as we used the toaster oven- you do not call your toast bread grilled bread right?). Puddy as usual hiammed on the tough prawn meat and complained sky high on why the lamb didn't take out the prawn when she said so.
Ah, grilled chicken! it looks yummier than it looks. It could have been better if the lamb had the chance to marinate the chicken more, like overnight.
The grilled mushrooms that puddy craved. The one fungus that caused puddy to demand that we have grilled dinner on the saturday. Erm, looks wierd, taste good and you just have to try it to believe me.
Sigh. I dun want to talk about the failed grilled eggplant. Don't laugh or i'll invoke the Steakii to pounce on you.
Er, microwave corn with butter. Shriveled corns from the microwave sucking up too much moisture. poor corns. But at least they don't go pop!

Puddy on a detox diet, so lil lamb so sweet wants to eat the same thingy as puddy. Actually potatoes are not really allowed, coz they will slow down gut movement, but i scared lil lamb hungry as he not feeling well, so decided to just go ahead. At least it is still a veggie.

So I microwaved 3 potatoes according to 4+3+3 mins, but turned out that the outer part of the potatoes were too dry, while the inside is still creamily yummy. Next time shall just add 2 mins for each additional potato.

Lil lamb grilled some shitake mushrooms (really tender and soft and juicy) and I'm still thinking about them. Even though the whole of last nite and this morning my tongue has this weird mushroom aftertaste, but it wouldnt deter me from eating them this way again! He also grilled some crunchy capsicums.

That's not all....we also had some cherry tomatoes. We tried putting some basil (basil is herb = veggie, should be can right?) on it and the bigger kinds of tomatoes to mimic those oven-baked tomatoes that u always see in those caterer's buffet.; but think it din turn out very well.

We finished off with some edamame, as usual.

It was quite a filling meal, but as there is no meat, my lil lamb kept trying to eat the totters off our beef burger (ie steakii)!

We have already decided to do about the same thingys on sunday, but with sauces, such as teriyaki on the mushroomies, grilled salmon /chicky...and everything unhealthy.

Makes puddy wonder, whats the point of detoxing when I'm going to return to my unhealthy excesses anyway =P

    Who washed the dishy? Puddy!
