Mon, 18 Aug 2008 12:05:38 +0200 The June leak of nine allegedly "mastered, finished" tracks from Guns N' Roses' long-delayed "Chinese Democracy" spurred a renewed round of chatter about whether the Axl Rose-led band will finally release the 14-years-in-the-making album. But some concrete signs are finally emerging that the album's release could be imminent. That's because, according to sources, negotiations are underway for "Chinese Democracy" to come out as an exclusive at one of the big boxes -- either Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Negotiations are also ongoing to have conventional record company distribution, another source says. Guns N' Roses is now managed by Irving Azoff's Front Line Management, and Azoff is a well-known proponent of issuing albums exclusively through retailers. He released the Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" through Wal-Mart, much to the chagrin of other merchants. Most recently, it became known that AC/DC's next album will come out exclusively through Wal-Mart. Merchants were particularly incensed that the deal was apparently struck with the blessing of Columbia. It's unclear who initiated the Guns N' Roses exclusive negotiations -- Front Line or Interscope, the band's label. Representatives at Front Line and Interscope with knowledge of the situation couldn't be reached for comment by deadline. A Wal-Mart representative says the chain couldn't confirm this fall's exclusives. Best Buy representatives couldn't be reached for comment by deadline. Tue, 27 May 2008 12:20:20 +0200 Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood went deaf during the recording of the band's latest album In Rainbows. Greenwood revealed all in an interview with Word, saying his deafness was due to using the wrong type of headphones in the studio. "It came back, mostly." Greenwood said of his diminishing hearing. "It doesn't feel like I'm talking to people underwater anymore." However, the recovery wasn't so plain sailing as Colin revealed: "For a few months afterwards I'd be watching the telly and suddenly hear these high-pitched whistling noises as more and more high frequencies came back." In this farewell There’s no blood There’s no alibi ‘Cause I’ve drawn regret From the truth Of a thousand lies [Pre-Chorus:] So let mercy come And wash away What I’ve done [Chorus:] I'll face myself To cross out what i’ve become Erase myself And let go of what i’ve done Put to rest What you thought of me While I clean this slate With the hands of uncertainty [Pre-Chorus] [Chorus] For what I’ve done I start again And whatever pain may come Today this ends I’m forgiving what I’ve done!!! [Chorus] What I’ve done Forgiving what I’ve done Fri, 22 Feb 2008 20:55:44 +0100 Radiohead is well known as one of the world's most important bands of today. While their debut was at the peak, they're road to stardom begun after the success of "OK Computer" - a success that few probably would have predicted when the five of them started playing together in the early 80s after meeting at Abingdon School in Oxford. Radiohead was among the most closely watched bands of the decade, getting some influences on different artists such as Queen, R.E.M., and Miles Davis. They were embraced as saviors of modern guitar rock, only to resurface in 2000 with a new sound heavy with electronics, minimal vocals, and few guitars. Radiohead have released a total of seven albums in sixteen years. The albums thet've released includes Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Theif and In Rainbows. In Rainbows received positive reviews, among the best of Radiohead's career. Critics praised the album for having a more accessible sound and personal style of lyrics than their past albums. Explaining the reasons behind the album's delivery and success, Jonny Greenwood said, "It was an experiment that felt worth trying... it's fun to make people stop for a few seconds and think about what music is worth." Yorke described the album as Radiohead's attempt to "describe...as coherently and conclusively as possible, what moves us. In Rainbows is...our classic album – our Transformer, our Revolver, our Hunky Dory". In Rainbows CDTrack listing 1. 15 Step 2. Bodysnatchers 3. Nude 4. Weird Fishes / Arpeggi 5. All I Need 6. Rumors have been scattered all over the Internet today that Deryck Whibley was seen shopping some kids stuff on a Robertson Blvd. If this is true then Avril would probably be out in the rock scene for a couple of months. Deryck Whibley is the lead vocals from the punk rock band "Sum 41". Here is some details of this exclusive gossip from TMZ. Seems like just yesterday that Avril burst onto the scene with the banal tween anthem "Sk8er Boi." Now she might have little sk8er boi or sk8er gurl of her own. TMZ has the speculative story: TMZ spotted Avril Lavigne and hubby rocker Deryck Whibley shopping up a storm on Robertson Blvd. yesterday ... but could it be for a wee Whiblet or Whiblette?
What's more, says a TMZ spy, "She definitely looks like she has a bump." We've contacted her reps, but haven't heard back. Thu, 14 Feb 2008 21:44:35 +0100 Daughtry is an American Music Award-winning and Grammy-nominated rock band from North Carolina, formed by former American Idol contestant Chris Daughtry in 2006. Their self-titled debut album was released on November 21, 2006. The disc reached #1 for two non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200, outsold Idol winner Taylor Hicks' debut effort, sold more than 3 million copies and was named the number one selling album of 2007 by billboard. Their album is also the fastest-selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. The first single from the album, "It's Not Over", was the eighth most played song across all formats on U.S. radio in 2007, and their second single from the album, "Home", was the tenth most played song in the U.S. of 2007. Daughtry is the eponymous debut album of the American rock band of the same name, the band formed and fronted by American Idol season five finalist Chris Daughtry. The album is the fastest selling debut rock album in Soundscan history. "Breakdown," as it appears on Daughtry, is actually a rewrite and combination of two songs previously, "Breakdown" and "Conviction," performed by Chris Daughtry's former hard rock/alternative metal band Absent Element. These two songs appeared on the album Uprooted. The first single released from the album is "It's Not Over", and fellow Idol contestant Ace Young, producer Greg Wattenberg, and Course of Nature frontman Mark Wilkerson are credited as co-writers. I'm staring out into the night, Trying to hide the pain. I'm going to the place where love And feeling good don't ever cost a thing. And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain. So I'm going home, Back to the place where I belong, And where your love has always been enough for me. I'm not running from. No, I think you got me all wrong. I don't regret this life I chose for me. But these places and these faces are getting old So I'm going home. Well I'm going home. The miles are getting longer, it seems, The closer I get to you. I've not always been the best man or friend for you. But your love, remains true. And I don't know why. You always seem to give me another try. So I'm going home, To the place where I belong, And where your love has always been enough for me. I'm not running from. No, I think you got me all wrong. I don't regret this life I chose for me. But these places and these faces are getting old. Be careful what you wish for, 'Cause you just might get it all. You just might get it all, And then some you don't want. Be careful what you wish for, 'Cause you just might get it all. You just might get it all, yeah. So I'm going home, Back to the place where I belong, And where your love has always been enough for me. I'm not running from. No, I think you got me all wrong. I don't regret this life I chose for me. But these places and these faces are getting old. I said these places and these faces are getting old. So I'm going home. I'm going home. Tue, 05 Feb 2008 20:46:25 +0100 3 Doors Down were originally a trio, consisting of Brad Arnold (vocals, drums), Matt Roberts (Guitar) and Todd Harrell (Bass). The band later acquire Chris Henderson (Guitar) and a studio drummer to give way for Brad and sing live.
The band was formed in Escatawpa, Mississippi. Their hit song "Kryptonite" created a buzz at local radio station WCPR, making them popular and capturing fairly large crowds to their live shows. The band then extended their range beyond Mississippi and they invaded some famous clubs such as New York's CBGB's. Their gig at CBGB's caught the attention of Republic Records, which gave them their major label debut album, "The Better Life", in early 2000. The band released "Away From the Sun" in November 2002 and "700 Miles" in November 2003. In early 2005 the band returned with "Seventeen Days" which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went platinum in it's first week of release. A Tribute To 3 Doors Down CD Tracks: 1. A hundred days had made me older Since the last time that I've saw your pretty face A thousand lights had made me colder And I don’t think I can look at this the same But all the miles that separate They disappear now when I’m dreaming of your face (CHORUS) I’m here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I’m here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight it’s only you and me The miles just keep rollin As the people either way to say hello And I've heard this life is overrated But I hope that it gets better as we go (CHORUS) I’m here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I’m here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight girl it’s only you and me Everything I know, And anywhere I go It gets hard but it won’t take away my love And when the last one falls, And when it’s all said and done It gets hard but it won’t take away my love (CHORUS) I’m here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I’m here without you baby but you're still with me in my dreams And tonight girl it’s only you and me Yeah Oh Yeah Ohhhh Tue, 22 Jan 2008 22:44:11 +0100 Having finished most touring in support of Still Not Getting Any... in March 2006, the band took some time off and then began work on new material. On July 1, 2007, they hit the studio and they began tracking. They started with drum tracking in Los Angeles after pre-production, then went back to Montreal to finish the rest of the recording process. During September 2007, the band had finished recording and went back to L.A. to mix the album with Chris Lord-Alge. After mixing, the band went to New York to master the album, thus finishing the building of the album. This was announced on October 21. The first single from the CD, "When I'm Gone", was released on October 29, via iTunes and via lala.com. The "world premiere" of the song was part of a webcast with band members, in which the band answered fan questions. On October 24, Simple Plan had put up a 25 second preview of "When I'm Gone" on their website. The CD was originally set for release on January 29, 2008. However, on November 29, 2007, the band announced a two weeks' delay due to production difficulties, and the need to re-record some lyrics from the song "Generation." An album cover was released in early December 2007. Soon afterwards, in his Myspace blog, band frontman Pierre Bouvier responded to fan concerns about the cover, defending the artwork. However, on December 12, the band released a second proposed album cover, and invited fan views by email about each, indicating (despite Bouvier's earlier comments) that they were fine with either cover. On December 14, 2007, the alternative cover depicted above was announced as selected over the original one depicted below. "Your Love Is a Lie"" was first publicly performed at a taping for YouTube on December 18, 2007. All the songs on the CD, except "Holding On" were played at a small show in Montreal on January 11, 2008. Simple Plan CD Tracks:

We released two kick-ass albums from very different bands, DROID and MONSTER IN THE MACHINE. "Both albums are special for me. "I started ESR because I felt like there was a void in the music industry. I aimed to fill that by promoting more great music. I wanted to give these artists a channel to be heard. These records are completely untouched by industry politics and trends. They come from the respective musicians' hearts. They also are the beginning of ESR! I'd been wanting to start a label for a very long time, and now it's up and running! We're on the right track... "Last year was also fantastic for KORN. We released a great new album and toured the whole world with SLIPKNOT drum legend Joey Jordison behind the kit. I had a great time playing all of those shows and meeting fans at the ESR booth. I'm looking forward to going back out and playing some more killer shows for all of you. "Last year definitely had some cool highlights, however, 2008 is already shaping up to be even better. KORN is about to embark on a huge tour of Europe and the UK. We've got Ray Luzier of ARMY OF ANYONE filling in on the drums, and we have a lot of surprises planned. We'll be busting out some classic tracks as well as newer stuff from the 'Untitled' record. So if you're in Europe or the UK, don't miss these shows! It's going to be a very memorable run for all of us. "I'm also very stoked with ESR's progress. We're building the label even more, and both DROID and MONSTER IN THE MACHINE will be on tour all year. "For those of you that caught DROID on Family Values 2007 or MONSTER IN THE MACHINE out with TEAM SLEEP, you know how killer these bands are live! Do not miss them on tour this year. Also be sure to say 'hi' to the guys after the shows or at their merch booths. ESR is a family, and we consider the fans a big part of that family. We want to meet and talk to all of you! This is going to be a big year for the label and both of these kick-ass bands! "Before I hit the road, I wanted to let everyone in on a little secret. I have a big surprise announcement coming very, very soon. It's something I'm extremely passionate about, and I have a feeling everyone is going to love it. Be sure to keep checking this page, because this announcement is going to be big…"
Wed, 09 Jan 2008 22:13:17 +0100 TORONTO - Punky pop star Avril Lavigne has reached a settlement in a lawsuit that accused her of plagiarizing her summer hit single, "Girlfriend." As a result, claims that '70s rock band the Rubinoos were ripped off have been dropped. Songwriters Tommy Dunbar and James Gangwer charged that Lavigne's boppy track sounded suspiciously like their 1979 single, "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend." Rubinoos lawyer Nicholas Carlin says a confidential settlement has been reached but could not comment further. A spokesperson for Lavigne could not immediately be reached. A settlement does not necessarily indicate an admission of copyright infringement. Lavigne has said she'd never heard the Rubinoos song, while her manager, Terry McBride, has said he consulted a musicologist who found no similarities between the songs. Still, McBride admitted he would consider settling the matter out of court to avoid a costly legal battle. Mon, 07 Jan 2008 20:38:08 +0100 Radiohead made their expected arrival at No. 1 on the new U.K. album chart yesterday (Jan. 6) with "In Rainbows," released in the U.K. and internationally Dec. 31 on XL Recordings. (fade out) Fri, 28 Dec 2007 20:40:49 +0100 The future of My Chemical Romance has been brought into question after a cryptic image appeared on one of the band’s websites. The image, which displays a medical flatline accompanied by the message ‘00 BPM’, can be seen on the band’s Black Parade website. Fans have begun to speculate whether The Black Parade era – which accompanied the band’s same-titled album and tour - has now ended. Does this means that The Black Parade era is already over. Many fans are still wondering on the true meaning of this flat lines in their Black Parade Website. As previously reported, the band are already understood to be recording to the follow-up to the LP, which is expected in 2008.
