as described in less's man page. The script runs
under a ksh-compatible shell (ksh, bash, zsh) and
allows you to use less to view files with binary
content, compressed files, archives, and files
contained in archives. Viewing files by accessing
a device file is implemented to some extent (DOS
filesystems and tar files). It supports many
formats (both as plain and compressed files using
compress, gzip, bzip2, or zip). Syntax
highlighting for many languages is available
through a helper script, "code2color".

allows the automated backup of just about anything, but it was designed for routers and switches. If you are able to log into it through a CLI, you can back it up. Commands are defined within a configuration file, and when they are executed, the output is sent to a series of FTP servers for archiving. As well as archiving configurations, it allows scripts to be run on nodes; this allows configurations to be applied en masse and allows conditional logic so different bits of scripts are
run on different nodes.

It is similar in spirit to the useradd/mod/del tools found on Linux and Solaris, the pw tools on BSD, the mk|ch|rmuser/group tools on AIX, etc. However, instead of manipulating local accounts, uxdstools manages POSIX-type accounts that can be found in LDAP directory services installations, namely those with posixAccount and posixGroup attributes.
