The Best Movie News And Humor From All Around The Net Sat, 11 Oct 2008 06:57:22 +0200 The new trailer and poster for Defiance are now online. The film centres around three (very unlikely) brothers, played by Daniel Craig, Liev

RocknRolla is released in the States this weekend, but has already been a critical and commercial success in the UK. According to Thandie Newton, who plays a crooked accountant in the film, RocknRolla 2 is not far away, and then they’re going for the trilogy… If Guy Ritchie were a character in his own movie, he would be ‘The Comeback Kid’. His career looked dead after the bona fide disasters of Swept Away and Revolver. But somehow he rediscovered his magic for RocknRolla and snagged a major studio picture in Sherlock Holmes, starring the man of the moment, Robert Downey Jnr. Sequel wise, T.Newton… Sat, 11 Oct 2008 06:41:19 +0200 David S. Goyer, co-writer of Batman Begins and one of the story creators for The Dark Knight, has a new horror on the way and the trailer is right here on the Intertubes. You want to see it? Okay, go ahead.
Well, it’s certainly trying to be freaky. Bodies twisted at unnatural angles and ghosts are good for creepy horror, according to the textbook. It’s a bit of a trailer of two halves, we open with the most horribly genetic premise including the now compulsory unscary Hollywood kid, but in the second half Gary Oldman turns up (huh?) and it looks a bit… Fri, 10 Oct 2008 07:17:00 +0200 It’s been confirmed that they’re shooting the next two movies back to back, so who are the Spiderman 4 and Spiderman 5 villains going to be? Here’s a picture gallery of the options, with a short explanation of who they are. The villain line-up includes Carnage, The Lizard, Black Cat, Electro, The Vulture, Mysterio, Man-Wolf, and many more. With the number of (non-silly) possibilities shrinking, don’t be surprised if the new movies include a couple of the lesser known, but potentially more interesting, enemies. Leave who you think they’ll pick for Spiderman 4 and Spiderman 5 in the comments, and we’ll give a prize… Thu, 09 Oct 2008 03:06:58 +0200 I’m mixed on director/writer M. Night Shyamalan. I enjoyed THE SIXTH SENSE (although it only took the trailer for me to figure out the surprise ending) but grew increasing disappointed with SIGNS, THE VILLAGE and LADY IN THE WATER. And while I’ve yet to see “his first R-rated movie” THE HAPPENING the negative reaction it received from moviegoers and critics alike isn’t very encouraging. To me his strongest film was the cool-as-hell UNBREAKABLE, which I also consider to be one of the best comic-book movies ever. Recently Shyamalan has been mentioning doing a sequel (of what had been a planned… Wed, 08 Oct 2008 04:52:16 +0200
Lucky for me then, that at a recent meeting with the Director’s Guild of America, Del Toro was heard to spill the beans as to what kind of direction he would be taking the film. Amid lots of talk about his upcoming Hobbit adaptation he stated:

We all remember the cuddly bear with a fetish for stealing pic-a-nic baskets. Yogi became famous in his 1960s Hanna-Barbera cartoon for constanting outwitting Ranger Smith and for coining catchphrases that included the iconic “smarter than the average bear”. Yes we remember, and we’ve moved on. But wait, now Yogi Bear is coming to a big screen near you. …Hooray… The native of Jellystone Park and his partner in crime Boo Boo are going the way Scooby Doo did 7 years ago, jumping to a cgi/live-action hybrid movie. No news on casting yet. Expect some B list comedian to take the Ranger Smith role. Why… Tue, 07 Oct 2008 06:10:35 +0200
This month they have released their list of the 500 greatest movies of all time, as voted for by both the general public, directors such as Quentin Tarantino, and ‘industry insiders’ i.e. everyone on the Empire payroll. They are billing it as the ‘biggest movie poll of all time’. Looking at the list of the top 50, it’s nice to see genre favorites like Evil Dead II, This is Spinal Tap and Terminator 2… Mon, 06 Oct 2008 03:13:24 +0200
With the summer well and truly over, it’s time to look forward to the blockbuster movies of 2009. The line-up features the usual mix of sequels (Terminator Salvation), prequels (Wolverine), remakes (The Taking of Pelham 123), reboots (Star Trek), big screen adaptations (G.I. Joe) and original fare (Public Enemies). But this time it’s notably light on comic book adaptations, which is pretty surprising. So here’s Movie-Moron’s definite guide to the summer 2009 movies: - MAY - X-Men Origins: Wolverine
