Hybrid Cars: List Of Real Drawbacks To Owning A Hybrid Vehicle

As oil prices continue to increase amid depleting supplies and rapid growth in demand, all economies globally are feeling the setbacks of the need to curtail excessive consumption of fuel.

For quite some time, research and development has been actively finding ways on how problems regarding very high demand could finally be eliminated. With the advent of the hybrid car, car owners and users all over the world are now finding relief that indeed there is hope.

A hybrid car is a specially designed and manufactured vehicle that combines the power of the conventional gasoline engine and electricity. In the past, many have referred to hybrid vehicles as electric vehicles.

Technically, a hybrid car could not be classified as purely electric because only about 40% of the energy consumption of the vehicle is from electric sources, in the form of stored electricity in batteries.

Though the wide use of hybrid cars provide hope that in the future, when oil supplies finally and completely runs out, the transportation industry would not feel the drawback. Yes, for now, driving a hybrid auto could equate to a lot of savings on the part of the car owner.

At least, the overall consumption of oil could be significantly lowered. Research is still ongoing so that in the near future, further better versions of the modern hybrid auto could be developed and launched into the market.

However, just like many other predecessor technologies, there are actual setbacks to owning and using a hybrid car. Many people hope that in the coming months or years, people could finally realize a better and more effective hybrid car. Here are the most practical and obvious of those drawbacks.

1. Because the hybrid car technology is still a relatively new car technology, it is just logical that the vehicle is expensive. On the average, a hybrid car these days costs more than the regular and usual cars by around $2,000 to $5,000. That is just right and is expected with the high demand for the car as more consumers get excited about it and manufacturers continue to produce the vehicle models on a limited ability.

2. Any hybrid car needs to allot a significant amount of space for battery. Because the hybrid car needs batteries to keep it going and for the use of some if its functions, the overall weight of the car gets more and more.

3. There are several states in the United States and some other global governments globally that are charging more additional fees and other charges for acquisition and registration.

4. If the hybrid car gets into possible crashes and collisions in the future, there is a risk that the incident would be more tragic. A hybrid car typically and normally has high voltage wires within it.

5. A regular and even simple hybrid car is made of a very complicated car system. Thus, ordinary mechanics would not have the needed and required skills and knowledge to attend to any technical need for maintenance of any hybrid car.

6. Because hybrid cars are still not too rampant and ordinary, buying spare parts may be very hard, if not impossible. Further, costs of spare parts can be very expensive.

7. It is a common knowledge that hybrid cars run slower than regular car models.

The Advantageous Hybrid Cars

Honda Insight, Honda Civic Hybrid, Honda Accord Hybrid, Toyota Prius, Toyota Camry Hybrid and Lexus GS 450h are just some of the hybrid cars available on the market. Toyota Pruis is the number one best selling hybrid car. Because it has more space, power and functionality, it maintained its reputation as the most sought after hybrid car of today. Honda Civic runs the second to this car.

Why do you choose to have a hybrid car? Hybrid cars can be complicated aside from being expensive. Of course, who would not be proud to drive a car worth half a million dollars? Car enthusiasts choose to buy hybrid cars because not everyone can afford to have it. You need to have bulks of dollars to have one. However, hybrid cars are more preferred by many. Why? Read on and find out.

Like conventional cars, hybrid car parts are also replaceable. Plus, hybrid auto parts sources are found everywhere. For Toyota Camry Hybrid, online Toyota car parts are always available. For example, if the joint ball of your Toyota Camry Hybrid is used up, you can always replace it with an authentic Toyota Camry ball joint. So, it will look and function like new again.

Hybrid cars are environment friendly as it has 90% fewer emissions. It is also beneficial to health especially if you have kids. Scientists believe that hybrid cars do not contribute much on air pollution thus it reduces the possibility of global warming. It has reduced oil dependency which adds 15% to 30% more on fuel efficiency.

To top it all, hybrid car owners save on tax. The IRS has adopted large tax credit for purchase of new hybrid automobiles. But remember, these are credits, not deductions. The tax being paid depends upon the model of a particular hybrid car. The law states that every automaker is only allowed 60,000 vehicles to avail of the credit limit. It means that famous models should be sold out before Dec 31, 2010, the expiration date.

Now, why should you buy a hybrid car? Of course, it is as reliable and comfortable as conventional cars. And with these reasons, should you not get one?

Buying Used Cars - Top 10 Dealership Scams

Top 5 Dealership Scams:

1. The VIN# window etching scam

Basically a dealer will charge you $300-$900 for window etching and they will tell you that you have to pay the money to get the loan because the banks insists on it.

Some dealers might tell you that the etching is free but will add on the etch money to your monthly payments to make up for it.

The best way to avoid this scam is to force the dealer to put it in writing if they say that the etching is free or simply etch the car yourself.

Remember a lender doesn't require that you purchase any extras on a car. All the lender cares about is that you can make your payments on time regularly. Don't buy into it.

2. The Financing Scam

I have mentioned this before already, but here it is in more detail.

Basically you trade in your old car and the finance manager tells you that your interest rate is good and then gives you the car.

After a week or two passes you get the call from him that you didn't qualify for the interest rates that they gave you upon making the deal.

Every new purchase has a clause in the contract that usually states that the deal is "subject to loan approval."

This gives the finance manager a loop hole in getting more money out of you.

All that this means in the contract is that the deal is not finished yet even you already have possession of the car and have signed the contract.

The dealer can then charge you $1000 more in finance fees and up your monthly payments by $50.

This scam is generally pulled on people with bad credit because it is more plausible.

If you are wondering why they would sell you the car at 6% APR if they knew you had bad credit (remember they ran the credit search already) the answer is simple; to sell the car.

You can avoid this scam by not financing the car with the dealer if you know that you have bad credit.

You are better off going to a credit union and financing the car yourself. When you buy a new car the deal should be made on the price of the car, not on the monthly payments.

3. The Credit Score Scam

This scam is ridiculous at best. This is when the finance manager tells you that your credit score is lower than it really is so that they can get you for higher interest rates.

This scam is pulled on everyone; good or bad credit.

This scam is easy to avoid. Just get your own copy of your credit report from Equifax.com, and bring it with you.

It is really difficult to lie to you about your credit score if you have your own copy of it. If your paper and theirs doesn't say the same thing, go somewhere else because that dealership is lying to you.

Don't forget to let them know it too because it'll be nice to watch them squirm.

4. The Forced Warranty Scam

This is when the finance manager tells you that you are not eligible for the loan by the bank unless you pay an extra $2000 for a 2-3 year extended warranty.

This scam just doesn't make sense. Basically the finance manager is telling you that the bank won't trust you to pay the $20,000 loan for the car, but they will trust you if you pay even more money. That's just stupid.

You can avoid this scam if you can force them to put it in writing that you "have" to pay the extended warranty in order to get the loan.

That way you can bring a copy of the contract to your local State's Attorney's office to verify that the deal is valid. I can bet that the finance manager will change his tune pretty quickly.

5. The Dealer Prep Scam

Let me first let you know that cost is not only legal but very much common practice. I still refer to it as a scam because it is just another way for you to end up paying more money for the car.

Basically the dealer will tell you have to an extra $500 to cover the labor costs of the dealership's 5-point inspection.

You are paying for the time it took for the dealership to make sure that the car wouldn't explode on you in the first week of owning it.

This check up that you are paying so much money for is for the dealership to remove plastic from the seats etc, vacuum the car out, and making sure that all of the fuses and fluids are ready to go.

When factories deliver the new cars to the dealerships the cost of delivery and prep is already covered, so basically you are paying the dealership for work that they haven't really done.

I swear they could get the car in perfectly ready to drive condition and put everything right back in it just so that they can make you pay the fee again.

You can avoid this scam by simply asking the dealership to add an extra $500 credit to the deal to make sure you do not have to pay the money.

If they refuse, you can then decide if the car is worth the money. If it is fine; buy the car, if not; go to another dealer that will remove the dealer prep costs.
Baby Car Seats Safety - Frequently Asked Questions

In this article you will be provided with information about baby car seats and keeping your baby safe while in the car. There are tips for buying new and used baby car seats. Answers to some of the most asked questions about car seats are provided as well.

Q. What is the best baby car seat?

The best car seat is the one that matches your baby’s size and weight. It also fits properly in your car and is easily installed.

Q. What types of baby car seats are available?

There are several types of baby car seats such as infant seats, front facing car seats, and convertible seats. There are also combination seats (can face front or rear), booster seats and integrated car seats. With each type of seat there are variations.

Q. Is a five-point harness or a shield safest for my baby?

A five point harness gives your child the greatest protection because it holds your baby tighter in the seat in the event of a crash. A T-Shield or over-the-head restraint allows too much room or can get in the way of chubby tummies and legs. The stalk of the T-Shield can cause serious injury to your baby.

Q. How can I find out how to safely install my baby’s car seat?

All car seats (except most second hand seats) come with printed directions. If after reading the directions you still are not sure how to properly install it. You can call or email the manufacturer. Some police stations and hospitals have assistance programsas well.

Q. Is there a correct way to secure my child in the baby car seat?

Yes, there is a correct way in which to secure your child in his car seat. How you secure your baby in the car seat will likely depend on the age and size of your baby. For children under a year of age they should be placed in rear-facing seats in the centerof the rear seat. Older children can sit facing front and their seat are generally placed behind the driver or passenger in order to utilize the shoulder/lap belts.

Q. What is LATCH?

LATCH refers to Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children. It is a baby car seat installation system. The lower hooks are attached between the bottom of the back of the seat and seat itself. The tether piece is a strap made of seat belt material with a clip that secures forward facing baby car seats and prevents excessive movement of the baby’s head in crashes.

Q. What is a Tether?

The tether is a strap made of seat belt material with a clip. It attaches to the clips on the seat and secures front facing baby car seats. In a crash it prevents excessive movement of the seat and the baby’s head, reducing the severity of injuries.

Q. How can I tell when my child is ready to use car seat belts without a booster seat?

Your child will be ready for using the car safety restraint system when s/he can sitall the way back in the seat and the knees can bend comfortably over the edge of the seat. The belt crosses the shoulder between the neck and the arm and the lap belt is low and touches the thighs. Your child must be able to remain seated the whole trip.

Q. Can a baby car seat be used safely in an airplane?

Yes it can. Airlines require children age 2 and under, to be in approved car seats. The seats must be 16 inches or less to fit in the airplane seats. Call ahead and find out ifyour seat is an approved seat. Once on the plane, the hostess/es, will be able to assistyou.

Q. Is it safe for me to use second-hand baby car seats?

Yes it is safe to use second-hand baby car seats provided you do a safety check. Belts and harnesses should not be frayed or cracked. There should be no cracks or tears in the seat cover and the seat should recline easily and stay upright when the baby is seated. Look into the history of the seat, if it has been in a car crash do not buy it, its ability to safely restrain your child has been compromised. If the seat doesn’t come with a manual contact the manufacturer to ensure the seat will be properly installed. If the seat is more than 5 years old do not use it, it may have been in a crash and older baby car seats may not fit in new model cars.

Q. What should I do if my baby car seat is recalled?

In most cases, the manufacturer will provide you with instructions of what to do if baby car seat is recalled. In some cases they will replace it for free they will have you bring it somewhere to get replacement parts also at no cost to you.

Q. Are there baby car seats available for children with special needs?

Children with special needs may require different restraint systems. Discuss your options with your pediatrician. Agencies such as Easter Seals have programs and information on baby car seats for special needs children.

Q. What is the best type of harness for my baby car seat?

There are four types of harnesses in baby car seats. The six-point harness has two straps at the shoulders, two at the hips and two at the crotch. The five-point harness has two straps at the shoulders, two at the hips and one at the crotch. The t-shield is a padded triangle that latches at the crotch while the overhead shield comes down from over the head and latches at the crotch also. The safest harnesses are the five or six-point harnesses. These prevent excessive movement of the baby in crash situations. The t shield and the over-head shield allow for too much room and could cause your baby to be ejected from the car in a crash.

Baby Car Seats Safety Tips

Baby car seats can prevent serious injury to your child in the event of an accident. It is the law that all children under the age of twelve should be seated in the back seat. This is especially true if you have airbags in the front.

From the time you bring your baby home from the hospital, s/he should be placed in an appropriate car safety seat. Infants must be in a rear facing infant only seat or an appropriate convertible seat until s/he weighs twenty pounds or reach the age of one. After twenty pounds and after the first birthday, toddlers can use a forward facing seat until they reach approximately forty pounds or their ears reach the top of the car seat.

Over forty pounds, a child must be in a seatbelt positioned booster seat.

Your car seat belts should not be used by a child under the age of eight unless they are four feet nine inches tall. A booster seat should be used until then. There are many different types of booster seats are available.

Your child should be appropriately restrained at all times. Your child will not be ready to use regular seatbelts until the shoulder trap fits across the shoulder not the neck. The lap belt must fit across the hips and not his stomach.

When installing car seats the manufacturer’s directions must be followed exactly. if you don’t have them call the company for a replacement. The car seat will have a label which will have the manufacturer, the address, and the phone number. It will also show the name of the car seat. You must have this information to get a replacement. If there is no label on the seat do not purchase it. It could be a seat that was damaged in a car accident.

If you are purchasing the car seat second hand, inspect it thoroughly. Check all the belts for fraying, all fasteners for cracks, and the padding of the seat to be sure it is not ripped or torn. Always check to see if there is a label on the seat, it will have the information you need if there is no manual available. Ask questions such as has this seat been in a crash?

If so, do not purchase it. It may look fine but its safety may have been compromised. There could be a misalignment of the frame resulting in your child’s safety being compromised.

No matter what type of seat you purchase, and there are many, consider how much you can spend. If expense is a concern a convertible travel system maybe in order. A rear-facing car seat can be used as a front facing car seat until the appropriate age. There is a base that remains in the car. The infant/toddler car seat then can be attached to a stroller frame and later it can reattach to the base that’s in the car. Check out your options and consider what will be best as far as expenses are concerned. Do your research and determine what will be best for you and your child. Always, the first concern should be the safety of your baby from day one.

It is important to know what type of seat your vehicle will accommodate.

Your car owner’s manual or a dealer will be able to tell you what is compatible with the vehicle you own. It is an overwhelming choice to make but begin looking for a car seat when you find out you are expecting. A well informed choice will keep your baby safe.

Car Safety Ratings: What Do They Mean?

Every car commercial tells you that their car has a five-star safety rating. Does this score really mean anything? What tests are being performed and who does the measuring?

The Organizations

In the United States, there are two organizations that score cars on safety ratings, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The NHTSA is run by the Department of Transportation and is sometimes called the New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) or the government five star rating.

Frontal Collision Ratings

The NHTSA gets its data by running a car directly into a wall at 35 mph. The IIHS does a different test, where the impact is offset, and not directly in the middle. The IIHS test does a better job of mimicking real-life accidents. While most cars do well in directly head-on collisions, most real-life collisions are offset.

The NHTSA scores with five stars. Five stars means that there is ten percent or less chance of injury. Injury is defined as something life-threatening or for which you will need immediate hospitalization. Four stars is between eleven and twenty percent chance of injury. Three stars is between twenty-one and thirty-five percent chance.

The IIHS score is not in a five star format. They rate a vehicle as Good, Acceptable, Marginal, or Poor.

The NHTSA and the IIHS scores should be looked at in conjunction with one another. Remember, both these scores only rate what would happen if you collide with another vehicle the same size as yours. However, many crashes involve only one-vehicle, so these tests are useful.

Side-Impact Ratings

Again, the NHTSA and IIHS uses different side-impact tests. The NTSA crashes a giant beam into the side of a car and measures the shock on two male-sized dummies. They then make a star rating based on the chance of chest injury to the dummies. Five stars means less than 5% chance of injury, four stars is 6%-10%, and 3 stars is 11%-20%. They don’t gage the damage to the head in this star rating, but if they think that it is excessively dangerous, they will add a safety note to their report.

The IIHS uses dummies that represent adolescents or small-statured women. This helps assess the safety of people other than men in the car. They also use a larger beam. They score their rating based on injury to the head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and femur. This is arguably a more comprehensive test than the NHTSA test.

Rollover Ratings

The NHTSA is the only company that does Rollover ratings. Rollovers are often the most fatal type of accident. The NHTSA measures the chance of a car rolling with no external catalyst, and the chance of it happening for a reason (hitting a shallow ditch, hitting the curb, going onto the shoulder). 95% of rollovers are “tripped,” and have some external element.

Recent NHTSA testing has proven what we know about SUVs being much more likely to rollover than sedans or other cars.

Low-Impact Bumper Test

The IIHS performs a low-impact bumper test to see how much repairs would cost you if you gently hit something by accident. They rate the cars accordingly. Although this is not necessarily a safety rating, it will tell you what you can expect for possible repairs for your car and is something to keep in mind while purchasing a car.

When you shop

Considering the safety ratings of cars is important. But it is also important to know how these ratings are measured so that you can make the most informed decision about your purchase. Maybe you want your car to be cool, or to be functional, but most of all you want it to be safe.
Car Purchase: Top 5 Tips Or What You Need To Know Before To Buy A Car

For the purpose of mobility, there is a need to own a vehicle. Through the years and in almost all societies, owning and driving a car has somehow become a status symbol because it is quite logical that owning up such a vehicle is not always affordable.

These days, however, people have greater chances of buying a car because there are practically more options in transactions.

If you are aiming to purchase a car, it would be wise if you would take into consideration several factors. Initially, you need to decide whether you want to buy a new or a used car. If you have enough money to spend, of course, buying a new car is the most advisable and logical thing to do.

New cars are always on top quality and are guaranteed to deliver good and reliable performances. On the other hand, if your budget is quite limited, you can opt to purchase a second-hand car, which are available at car auctions or through used car dealers and brokers.

When buying such refurbished and reconditioned cars, it is imperative that you look at several considerations, particularly, the number of the car's previous owners, accident and mechanical history and maintenance requirements.

When purchasing a new car, it would surely be helpful if you would take note of the following advices and recommendations. These are considered the basic and important things and activities you should do before car purchase.

1. If you are aiming to find and secure the best and most reasonable deals when purchasing a car, it would be advisable if you would make the acquisition on the period from July to October and on the second half of December.

It is a know fact that cars are basically less costly on these periods. Annually, the periods also coincide with the usual periods car dealers usually launch and implement significant car purchase discounts. Discounts of a few percent surely would mean a lot of savings.

2. Do a comparison shop first. There are numerous used car dealers in the community and all of them are aiming to cut the throat of each other.

That is why you can be sure there is intense competition, which usually comes in the form of contests to lure more customers by lowering prices. Of course, dealers offering the best and most competitive prices win, and you should do business with them.

3. Always remember that cars that would be ordered from a car plant or facility must not cost more when compared to the prices of cars on the lot or the showroom. Many car buyers are fooled when dealers charge extra costs for cars that need to be ordered from plants.

Likewise, you should be wary about cars that need to be sourced or located by the dealer from another dealership. Usually, used car dealers implement additional, yet, unnecessary fees for such service.

4. It is illegal for car dealers to sell cars that lack price invoice sticker or MSRP. The price tags in the showroom should always be the actual price you would need to pay if you are making the purchase. No more, no less.

5. Lastly, it would be wise if you would do your own research of the car model or brand you are purchasing. Carmakers and marketers hire the best advertisers. So at times, do not fully believe ads for they have been developed and produced to awe and lure buyers.

Dodge Chrysler 2.7L Engine Problems, Oil Sludge, Defects and Failure

From 1998-2000 2.7L Engines are prone to premature catastrophic engine failure due to a defectively designed Timing Chain Tensioner that Chrysler quietly redesigned. Unfortunately, many consumers have had to pay out of their own pockets for this while Chrysler avoids responsibility.

From 1998-2004 Dodge / Chrysler 2.7L Engines are prone to Oil Sludge often caused by internal coolant leakage that has to do with the design of the Water Pump that allows coolant to enter the Engine over time and cause oil sludge, experts at a well known remanufacturing company say. The second common cause of engine sludge is from poor oil circulation caused by oil passages that are too narrow causing the oil to wear down more rapidly unlike normal engines.

Another contributing oil sludge factor is possibly due to an inadequately designed PCV system that can also accelerate engine oil breakdown, which Chrysler later made improvements to for the 2005 model year along with other changes knowledgeable sources state. Although Chrysler is aware and there is nothing consumers could have done to cause this, Chrysler still regularly blames consumers for 2.7L Engine Oil Sludge.

Chrysler is aware of certain problems and vulnerabilities the 2.7L Engine is prone to have and has quietly made various design changes over the years such as redesigning the Timing Chain Tensioner that was prone to premature failure in 2000, to making changes to try and prevent internal coolant leakage over time into the crankcase.

For 2005, changes included improvements to the PCV system and for oil circulation, to even later increasing oil capacity by an extra quart in an attempt to make the engine more robust. Unfortunately, even with all of these modifications we have been informed of premature Dodge / Chrysler 2.7L Engine failures in 2006 Dodge, Chrysler vehicle models.

Chrysler refuses to cover prematurely failed engines even when under its own 3 Year / 36,000 mile warranty while blaming consumers for these problems. These problems are so common and so well known that extended warranty companies also decline to cover Chrysler 2.7L engines. In many cases consumers have changed or had their oil changed every 3,000 miles with name brand motor oil.

Many consumers have been able to provide proof while Chrysler still refuses to cover failed 2.7L engines under warranty. It is a common misconception that sludge is caused by brand or type of motor oil since all motor oil sold must meet the same basic standards. However, if the oil was changed regularly then Chrysler might say 'it must be the brand or type of oil you used then'.

If you can prove that you used a leading motor oil, 'where did you have it changed?'. Chrysler might then tell you they are not going to be able to cover it then because you changed your oil yourself or had it changed somewh ere else. In fact Federal Law (Magnuson-Moss Act) prohibits an automobile manufacturer to void a warranty or deny warranty claim based on using aftermarket tune up or maintenance parts, such as spark plugs or motor oil for example or 3rd party service, unless provided free of charge. There are other consumers who have followed the intervals recommended by Chrysler in their vehicle's owners manual that state oil changes up to every 7,500 miles are acceptable in normal conditions where they've changed their oil every 5,000-6,000 miles only to be told 'you didn't change your motor oil enough and your engine failed due to neglect'.

In fact, Chrysler even currently recommends oil change intervals of every 6,000 miles for normal conditions in current owners manuals. When vehicles are purchased used from dealers and used car lots where consumers often believe they have no proof of regular oil changes prior to their ownership, Chrysler typically automatically refuses warranty claim s blaming the previous owner. When a consumer has proof or reg ular 3,000 mile oil changes performed by a dealer we've heard of Chrysler going as far as to blame the dealer's lube technician!

Best Small Cars for 2008
Small cars come in all shapes but limited sizes - how much variation can you get on a theme you might ask so here is our guide to the best that 2008 has to offer.

One of the most keenly received small cars has been the Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 Club. This was one of the leading cars of any class in 2007 and it continues to hold its own in the super-mini category. It is keenly priced but mixes this with a big-car feel that has enticed critics for many months.

Though classed as a super-mini this car comfortably sits four people and has so much space that it feels like a small family car - even the boot has plenty of space - but you wouldn't use it to take a family of four on holiday for two weeks. A nice little quirk is the removable floor that gives that little extra room.

A lot of thought has gone into this vehicle so that it hits all the right spots. The design is solid without being clunky and smart without being showy. It is also a joy to have well weighted controls surrounding the driver. The entire impression is one of a car whose designers have put real thought into its construction. A nice touch is the ease and room of adjustment in the driver's seating position, which is only added to by the placing of the controls around the steering column.

It has a keen suspension without being over savage and excellent fuel economy to accompany it, with the extras and standards being of exceptional quality for a small car.

At the bargain end of the market comes the Fiat 500 - it is far removed from its predecessors with the same name and carries all the qualities you would expect of a rejuvenated Fiat motor company.

At first impression you need to double-take that you are not looking at the original 50 year old styled automobile. This is no bad thing though - a company that is proud of its past and prepared to make use of its heritage in such a model is something to be welcomed. Unlike the Corsa this really is a super-mini - but perfect for what it has been designed for. Boot space is cramped but adequate for such a small car and you can't complain at the price.

The car is very short at just over 3.5 metres but handles better than you would expect due to the wheel placement as close to the corners as possible. The engine is responsive but you will not be buying this car for its power performance. With a 0-60 of just under 13 seconds and a top speed of 100mph it is certainly at the lower end of the market but its real strength lies in it fuel consumption - the Lounge version supplies up to 90 mpg on the open road.

This car would be ideal for urban use - it is small but still demonstrably a car rather than a Smart car and its superb fuel efficiency makes it a no-brainer for commuting and popping off down the shops. It also has the classic Italian styling of the early Fiat 500 but none of the obvious drawbacks associated with those fiats.

Generally, competition has never been tighter in the Super-mini market. Car manufacturers stopped treating this market with disdain a long time ago as it became apparent how demographics were changing society. So many people now live in or around cities and do not settle down to start families, that the small car market has really boomed over the past decade. Furthermore, concern for the environment and increasing fuel costs have concentrated buyers' minds on the economy of the vehicle they are buying whilst they are not keen on compromising on quality.

The two cars above are examples of this development. The Corsa is an outstanding car that has improved over the years and been embraced by the government as an equal brand leader. The Fiat 500 on the other hand has risen Phoenix-like from the ashes of the disaster that was Fiat in the 70s and 80s. A good sign is that they have embraced their old traditions whilst melding it with their current confidence. Two cars from completely different backgrounds - in much the same way as the eye of the Octopus and Human have come from two completely different evolutions but appear so similar, so these two cars symbolise the end product of differing evolution strands.

Both are good cars and demonstrate the health of the small car market admirably.

Avoid Highway Robbery by Using The New Crude--WATER
HERE'S THE BAD NEWS.

Engines waste gasoline! Up to 80% of the high-priced gas that you pump doesn't get you anywhere because it goes UNBURNED to the catalytic converter. That means you are getting 0 MPG (zero, zilch, nada) from most of the over-priced gasoline you pump into your tank.

WHY DO COMBUSTION ENGINES WASTE SO MUCH GAS?

That's what they are designed to do--WASTE GAS--because every second of every day, everywhere in the world, every single gas and diesel engine on the planet puts money into the deep, deep, DEEP pockets of Big Oil.

Automotive and fuel technology has been deliberately held back, and people have been kept in the dark about AMAZING inventions and discoveries, in order to sell us lots of gasoline. Sorry, but that's how it is.

For example, the gas could be preheated and better formulated for better combustion--but it's not. The fuel vapor droplets could be smaller for efficient combustion--but they're not. The pre-set computer-controlled air-to-fuel ratio could be more economical--but it's not. The exhaust could be reprocessed to contribute to mileage (there are patents on that)--but it's not. Cars could be using a better carburetor design--but they're not because the patent for a 100 MPG carburetor was bought and buried years ago. Cars could be running completely on water fuel--but they're not because those patents were also bought and then buried along with the inventor (however, the patents ran out recently!). Even the hybrids that Big Auto is selling at luxury car prices don't optimize gasoline combustion and consumption.

HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS.

You can do something about it, ONE CAR AT A TIME, starting with YOUR car.

How? By using ENERGY from WATER.

If that sounds impossible, or crazy, or delusional, I understand. This is something that none of our trusted sources of information--TV, radio, teachers, movies, professors, magazines, dad, scientists, books, Sesame Street--have told us about. Why? See the bad news, above.

I mentioned amazing inventions and discoveries. Many of them have very sophisticated technical patents on them. But the kind of water energy system I am talking about, the one that is affordable and do-able by ME and YOU in OUR cars (not by buying a Big Auto hybrid with a luxury car pricetag), is a do-it-yourself technology, specifically designed for beginners with basic tools and very limited budgets. A working system can be built at home for $20 to $200 worth of parts and installed in your car, truck, or SUV on a weekend. It's a 90-year-old technology that has been revived and developed into a simple, affordable, SAFE system based on low-cost hardware.

It works like this: The main component of the low-cost water energy system is an electrolyzer-a container of water with electrodes in it. The electrolyzer takes a tiny bit of electricity from your car. The electricity "splits" water into hydroxyl gas and feeds it immediately to the engine cylinders. The improved air/fuel mix gets very efficient combustion.

SPINNING WHEELS, NOT HEADS

Remember the bad news at the top? Remember I said that wasted fuel can be as much as 80%? In other words, even though you have paid $3.50 or more per gallon, you are only getting performance from as little as 20%--two gallons out of every ten--of the gas you pay good money for! It puts a whole new complexion on the phrase "highway robbery."

Our heads are spinning from rising gas prices. Now imagine instead that ALL your gasoline is working for you--it's actually turning your wheels and not just being turned into carbon deposits on your engine or exhaust from the catalytic converter. What would it be like for ALL that gasoline to be giving you mileage? It would be a WHOLE LOT MORE ECONOMICAL, that's what! That's what happens when you add the energy from water.

SEEING THE SEA OF ENERGY

Wondering how much energy is in water?

One gallon of water converts to approximately 1,833 gallons of combustible gas. One observer noted that a gallon of water in his water energy system lasted for about 2,700 miles.

"Energy from water" is hard to believe because we are misled by the appearance of water when it's liquied. It looks so, well, WET and noncombustible. But if we could SEE the sea of energy in the water--zillions of hydrogen and oxygen atoms ready to break out and be combustible gas under the right conditions--it would be easy to conceive that, indeed, water can be "burned" in an engine, thus taking advantage of a new "crude"--plain water.

Why aren't scientists telling us about this? Why doesn't it make big headlines? More bad news. Some of them just don't know about it, and some are paid to tell us about anything BUT this. Also, scientists are sometimes far behind empirical evidence from experimenters and inventors. Sometimes a true scientist makes an amazing discovery and is suddenly way ahead of everyone. What happens then? He or she has to fight all the other scientists that are way behind or too vested in the old paradigm. So who are the true scientists around here? A TRUE scientist could be anyone, including a scientist.

THE LAW OF CONSERVATION

Here is something to ponder from Patrick J. Kelly of http://www.PanaceaUniversity.org. He has a delightful way of tilting one's mind out of its box:

"The Law of Conservation of Energy is undoubtedly correct when it shows that more energy cannot be taken out of any system than is put into that system. However, that does not mean that WE cannot get more energy out of a system than WE put into it. A crude example is a solar panel in sunlight. We get electrical power out of the panel but we do not put the sunlight into the panel-the sunlight arrives on its own. This example is simple as we can see the sunlight reaching the solar panel.

"If, instead of the solar panel, we had a device which absorbs some of the energy that Quantum Mechanics observes and then gives out, say, electrical power, would that be so different? Most people say "yes!--it is impossible!" but this reaction is based on the fact that we cannot see this sea of energy. Should we say that a TV set cannot possibly work because we cannot see a television transmission signal?"

BUT ISN'T IT DANGEROUS?

We have been living and driving with danger for decades--it's called GASOLINE! Cars and trucks are planet-polluting bombs on wheels! But we are accustomed to it, right? And for the most part, we don't blow ourselves up.

But in the water energy system, I know, you think we're talking about tanks of compressed hydrogen in the car, but that's not how it is done! Here's the beauty of it:

Hydrogen is already compressed in plain water!

All we do in a water for fuel system is UNCOMPRESS and USE it--immediately, on-demand, in the engine! No hydrogen bombs on board. Just a container of distilled water! And the exhaust is--WATER! You split water, you burn it, you get fantastic mileage, you get a little water left over.

GREEN TECHNOLOGY

You can't get much greener than this unless you go for an engine designed to run completely on water, like the one that was designed and proven by Stanley Meyers when he drove across the United States on approximately 28 gallons of water. (You can see interviews with him on YouTube.) You can't get much more affordable, either. And because this is GREEN technology, and you will not be causing any damage to the car or the engine (far from it), your warranty will most likely be intact AND the government will owe you money for going green!

INSTALL WATER ENERGY SYSTEM, DROP JAW

You could pay someone to install your water for gas system. There are hundreds of people around the world who are constructing and installing water energy systems, as well as driving "watercars" themselves. These people save gas, save money, get much better mileage, and enjoy smoother-running engines and greatly reduced emissions. And that's why they are happy to do the same for you so you can save gas, save money, get much better mileage, and enjoy a smoother-running engine and reduced emissions.

Or you could do it yourself, in which case you would first get instructions, which are available on line. Then you would make a parts list and buy the parts from hardware and electronics stores. Third, you would construct the components of the water energy system, put them all together, and install the system, making all the necessary adjustments to it. You would now be the proud owner of a Water Hybrid Vehicle. And last, after picking up your jaw from the floor, where it has dropped in astonishment at your engine's mileage and performance, you would become an advocate of water energy, as I have.

BETTER COMBUSTION FOR THE MIND

To really grasp the implications and possibilities here, we must first clean the carbon deposits out of our minds. Using waterfuel is an approach to our cars and fuel that requires more participation from us. The whole water energy system consists of physical components PLUS your mind and attitudes about fuel consumption. To really optimize your waterfuel system, you will also be using fuel warmer, some Kiker wires to improve the spark, Xylene to add to your gasoline, a low-friction synthetic motor oil, a couple bottles of fuel treatment to clean carbon deposits from old unburned fuel out of your engine, a MAP sensor enhancer to keep the car computer from over-correcting the fuel mix back to over-rich, tires that are always fully inflated, and a real-time mileage tracker so that you won't have to use an entire tank of gas to know what mileage you are getting.

Perhaps the most important thing is this:

Trust yourself.

When you use an "alternative" fuel-efficiency system, you are an experimenter who is going against the herd and chances are, you are going to get some flack. Don't be fooled by self-appointed "experts" who don't have hands-on experience and say it can't be done. When they laugh or frown or condescend and say, "It's scientifically impossible," well, first of all, you know they are not "true scientists" (so why are they acting like they know what "scientifically" means?). Ask them if they have ever tried it themselves. You will find they have not. Further discussion might be fruitless, but you can try. Tell them to just wait and see. See for yourself. Don't wait ten years for big industry to do it because they don't want to GIVE you anything--they are only thinking about what they can GET from you while they continue making empty promises.

WHAT CAN A WATER ENERGY SYSTEM REALLY DO FOR ME?

Well…

How much will gas cost the next time you fill your tank?

A water energy system won't lower the price of ALL gasoline.

It will lower the price of YOURS. But don't just take my word for it.

Leslie Lackman is an advocate of the application of free, unlimited energies--mind, water, life force--to cars, health, wellness, and performance.

What insurance needed when I rent a car?

Everybody does not want to be involved in a vehicle accident. However most people will be involved in one vehicle accident in the life. If accident arises up with the rent vehicles, necessary to compensation harm to suffering and companies to the rent of vehicle.

Even best drivers can be involved in accidents because other drivers were careless. Today is no guarantee of safety, rental vehicle insurance is a necessity.

Drivers can cover rental vehicles in two ways:

- The customers regular vehicle insurance or through the rental agency.

- Purchase full rental vehicle insurance from the company that rents the vehicle.

Rental vehicle insurance is not as expensive as standard vehicle insurance, because the consumer is only paying for the insurance for the period of time that the vehicle is in his or her possession. The risk of accident exists at any term. Even if a driver does not drive the vehicle or own vehicle has not have proper insurance it would also need to make rental vehicle insurance.

Most drivers are covered for the average rental (if not business). To assess your own status check this:

- Check your personal vehicle policy.

- Check your coverage by your charge card company.

- Check your company's corporate travel policy. If you're on company business, full coverage is probably provided.

- Contact to your insurance company. Find out how much coverage you have on your own vehicle.

If you don't have comprehensive and collision coverage on your own vehicle, you will not be covered if your rental vehicle is stolen or if it is damaged in an accident.

Rental vehicles companies check your credit and driving history and will give a decision about coverage accept or reject.

The cost of insurance at the rental vehicle counter depends the following:

- the rental vehicles company;
- state;
- location of the dealer;
- the type of vehicles you rent.

If you often buying liability coverage from the vehicle rental company and you only need non-owners insurance. You can purchase a non-owner vehicles liability insurance policy from an insurance company, on the information from Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) it about $300 a year which might be cheaper if you rent frequently. Please note that most rental companies provide this type of insurance as part of the rental package.

If you have an vehicle policy that includes third-party liability (collision, blow), you can decline all coverage offered by a rental vehicle company. But Your own comprehensive and collision coverage should pay for damages to the rental vehicle. Your vehicle insurance should cover you for third-party damages resulting from your rental.

If you have determined that your vehicle policy does not combines full coverage, you will be faced with a choice of products for purchase.

- Collision Damage Waiver. It usually costs between $9 and $20 per day.

- Supplemental Liability Insurance. This provides excess liability coverage up to $1 million. It usually costs between $7 and $9 per day.

- Personal Accident Insurance. This covers you and all passengers in your vehicle for any medical expenses. It usually costs between $3 and $5 per day.

- Personal Effects Coverage. This provides coverage for theft of or damage to personal items inside the rental vehicle. It usually costs between $2 and $5 per day.

Check your coverage before buying insurance from the rental company, because you may be covered already. Check all and make correct decision.

Everybody does not want to be involved in a vehicle accident. However most people will be involved in one vehicle accident in the life. If accident arises up with the rent vehicles, necessary to compensation harm to suffering and companies to the rent of vehicle.
Delaware Defensive Driving Courses: Saving Money And Lives
The State of Delaware offers its drivers, with its Delaware defensive driving courses, the opportunities to better their driving skills while both lowering their automobile insurance premiums and improving their driving records. But for some drivers, the Delaware defensive driving courses are not optional; they are required by the court. Those individuals who successfully complete one of the Delaware defensive driving courses at the court’s insistence may often have the record of their driving misdeeds expunged.

Other drivers may volunteer to take the refresher Delaware defensive driving courses who exchange three hours of their time for a chance at having their automobile insurance premiums reduced between ten and fifteen percent. And residents of Delaware who volunteer for the six-hour Delaware defensive driving courses not only qualify for a ten percent insurance premium reduction; they can have as many as three points expunged from their driving histories. Most of the Delaware defensive driving courses, which are similar to those in other states, are approved by the Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Delaware defensive driving courses are designee to teach people to drive defensively, so that they know how to anticipate and respond to any potentially dangerous traffic situations or road conditions or hazards. While all driver education courses teach students the rules of the road and an understanding of the right of way, Delaware defensive driving courses teach students how to react when their right of way is violated.

Aggression Is Never The Answer

None of the Delaware defensive driving courses will ever recommend aggression as the correct response to any road situation. Many people who are driving at night become annoyed when the drivers of vehicles traveling toward them fail to switch off their high beams, and switch on their own high beams in response.

All that does is to leave both drivers struggling to see as they pass one another with inches separating their vehicles. A much more effective, and useful defensive driving response would be for the first driver to briefly switch on the high beams to get the attention of the oncoming driver and hope he takes the hint by turning his own high beams off.

It’s OK To Back Off

The majority of Delaware defensive driving instructors will even advise their students to take defensive actions when they see an aggressive driver’s actions leading them into an developing, even if the accident will not be their fault. Fault is of little importance to those awaiting the arrival for the ambulance, and if a defensive attitude will prevent that, it has done its job.

Anyone riding in your car will not mind if by letting the aggressive driver have the right of way you avoid the accident altogether. And accident avoidance is want he Delaware defensive driving courses are all about.

You will no longer have to face a classroom full of students and can interact with your driving students on a one-to-one basis. The driving skills you teach them will be as important as any others they ever learn, and they will be able to put them to use almost immediately.

Auto Insurance - What To Know Before You File A Claim
When you have been in a road accident, or incidents like fire, flood, vandalism or theft, the most common reaction is panic. For the sake of your self and others involved in the accident , it would be best for you to keep calm and remember to do the following :

1. Confirm that no one is injured and if someone has been injured, what is the extent of the injury?

2. Call the police and if someone is seriously injured, call 911.

3. If the police can not come to the scene of the accident or incident, try as much as possible to document the events. If you have a camera (whether in your phone or other devises) take shots of the scene. Then file an accident report at the nearest police station

4. Call your insurance agent and explain all that happened.

5. Give your insurer the following details: the name and address of the persons involved, the details of the accident/incident, and the file number of the police report, the name and addresses of the witnesses.

6. Get all the necessary documents that you need from your insurer, fill them out accurately. Make sure you keep the originals properly and return the copies to your insurer. Cooperate with your insurer in investigation because they would have to represent you in case of litigation against you

7. Document every expense very carefully and keep them well. Some policy has a no-fault clause and they would pay you for any expenses incurred. Like loss of income and medical bills. If you had to employ someone to help you around the house for that period, the policy also ensures that you are reimbursed the cost of all that.

8. Keep all the copies of your paperwork. You'll surely need them some time!

Considering that you are taking out an auto insurance policy because you want to be protected from liability in future (thereby saving money) you need to get the insurance company that would serve in your best interest. If the insurer you have now is not giving you satisfactory service, Shop around! Compare prices and services. Remember to always compare prices of the same services.

Electric Hybrid Cars Vs HHO Gas Hybrid Cars - Which Is Better?

Hybrid cars are the hit of the day in the automotive business. And that's understandable. The rising oil prices of today - at the time of this writing, they're 8 times what they were in 1999,and twice what they were just over a year ago - drag the gasoline and diesel fuel prices up with them. Two common hybrid car options exist today.

Electric hybrid vehicles use an electric motor alongside the gasoline or diesel motor. The electric motor kicks in when your car is idle (for example, standing at a red traffic light), replacing the regular internal combustion motor in action, and as a result increasing your car's fuel economy and reducing emissions which are bad for your health and the environment in general. This is the type of hybrid car you can find at the dealership near you.

While they have important advantages, electric hybrid cars also have some major drawbacks.

* The first is these cars use two separate engines. So in order to have a hybrid car of this type work, you need a whole new engine alongside the one you already know.

* The second one is the environmental one. Hybrid cars are good for the environment compared with the regular gasoline or diesel car - there is no argument about that. But the benefit to the environment doesn't happen all the time. It happens only when the car is idle, and the electric motor is in action. If the car is not idle for extended periods of time - for example, driving long distances on a freeway - there is no chance for the electric motor to do its thing. The diesel or gasoline motor works all the time, and in that case there is no reduction in noise or emissions over the regular, internal combustion motor car. It's as if the electric motor isn't there.

* The third one, which is partly linked to the first one, is that it's very difficult to convert a regular car with a gasoline motor or a diesel one into a hybrid electric vehicle. That is done either by professional mechanics, or by very dedicated hobbyists who have vast mechanical knowledge and are willing to spend a lot of money on buying the electrical motor and the necessary accessories, and a lot of time in performing this rather complex conversion themselves. If you are an average guy like me, with average mechanical knowledge, you wouldn't do that yourself considering the complexity of the labor and the big financial investment involved. You would let a professional do it for you, or as in most cases - sell your car and buy a new, hybrid car. In any case, you would spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars.

The other type of hybrid vehicles catching on today is based on HHO gas as the additional propellant to gasoline or diesel fuel. HHO gas - AKA Brown's Gas, Oxyhydrogen, or Aquygen - can be made out of water in the engine, on demand. So the additional propellant is actually water. Here is where you can read more about HHO gas and the process of making it in a car engine.

Hybrid cars with HHO gas have all the advantages of electric hybrid cars. They increase fuel economy, reduce noise, and reduce emissions. The big thing here is that hybrid cars with HHO gas as the additional propellant also kill the disadvantages of hybrid electric cars. A regular car with a regular internal combustion motor can be converted into an HHO gas hybrid car in a simple, quick, cheap process. There is no need for more than a minimal amount of mechanical knowledge involved, so you can do the conversion yourself, using a guide and a kit of hardware you can buy at your regular hardware store.

HHO aids gasoline or diesel fuel in running your engine all the time. That means that even when you drive on a freeway without stopping, you save on fuel, and you reduce noise and emissions.

Learn How to Stay Safe When Attending Car Shows

Even with the big number of car shows out there, more and more people seem to be in attendance. If you intend to visit one, you have to plan for your safety and security.

First word of advice: leave your purse at home. Do not take a purse with you when attending a car show. You'll never know who is standing behind you. Snatchers and pickpockets often ply their trade in events where there are many people as it is easy to disappear in the crowd. These thieves are always on the lookout for opportunities. You can avoid being a victim by going to the show without your purse.

Another thing to watch out for is the weather condition. Always check the weather forecasts for the day of the car show. The sun could be shining bright when you leave home in the morning but you can easily find yourself soaking wet due to unexpected rain. Or, what looked like a cheerful day could turn into blistering hot that's somewhere in the nineties. This is critical especially if you plan to bring along your kids. In case of rain, you can bring along umbrellas and raincoats or cancel the trip altogether. With a rising heat index, you may want to reconsider bringing the kids with you or you may change your plans and go somewhere cooler instead. You wouldn't enjoy the car show if you also have to attend to a child suffering from heatstroke. The least you can do is let your children cool down with your car's a/c system and go home immediately so they can rest.

Next to check is the availability of food at the car show. You can at least phone them before going to the show and ask about the food situation. If there won't be any food sold at the venue, you may want to prepare for a packed lunch. Make sure to bring along food that is not highly perishable. Or, you can plan to take a break and have lunch somewhere. Usually, you can expect food vendors on the grounds selling hot dogs and similar quick food items. Call before hand to be sure. Another thing, bring with you some drinking water.

Finally, do not forget your cell phone and have some loose change with you when attending a car show. You have to be prepared for any emergency so make sure that you always have some means of communication available. Before leaving the house, inspect if the battery of your cell phone is fully charged. If the indicator says the power's running low, you may want to bring the auto plug-in charger so you can charge your cell phone battery on the way to the car show. Also, check on your available minutes and load up if necessary. If you find that the venue of the car show is a dead spot where you can't have signal for your cell phone, position yourself somewhere near a telephone so you can immediately access it when needed. This is where you'll be using your loose change. Be sure to keep a list of emergency numbers handy. It's a good idea to record them in the phone book of your cellular phone.

The one- star rating was struck through (effectively reducing the rating) due to the late firing of the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners.

In a later test, however, Euro NCAP said the airbag malfunction had been effectively addressed, "removing the high risk of life-threatening injuries seen in the earlier test". The Navara was not the only ute to score poorly.

The Holden Rodeo scored two stars and it also had a strike through as the testers found readings in the neck and chest of the test dummy "indicated an unacceptably high risk of life- threatening injury". Maker Isuzu is investigating.

Utes are increasingly used as family cars on weekends, which has prompted experts to urge makers to review the safety technology available on them. In Australia, utes account for one in five new cars sold.

Utes are overrepresented in crashes and often spend more time on the road than regular passenger cars, yet lack the latest safety features.

Many are equipped with front- impact airbags but only one ute on the market has stability control and none yet have head-protecting curtain airbags. The Mitsubishi Triton ute scored four stars. Safety experts urge motorists not to buy a car with a safety rating of less than four-stars.

Buying a Car on Ebay

When you start wishing to buy a car, eBay can be a great place to come across some great deals. Being the world's largest online auction, eBay has all types of cars from newer cars to vintage to custom. You can also find parts and accessories for cars. And consider this - most of the items that you successfully buy through eBay will be at a much lower price than at a local dealer.

Just some of the cars found on ebay recently include Dodge Avenger, Cadillac Escalade full-sized SUV, Hummer H3 Alpha, Lincoln Cosmopolitan, Pontiac Grand Ville, Buick Special, GMC SUV and even a few custom cars.

How Ebay works

When it comes to online shopping, eBay is da bomb. The world's largest online shopping site by far, boasting over 130 million affiliated users (and growing) who reside in 30 different countries, eBay is a huge online garage sale, car dealer, flea market and auction site.

Literally everything is bought and sold on eBay, everything legal, that is. From the bizarre, like a partially eaten grilled cheese sandwich that is believed to have the image of the Virgin Mary on it, to the everyday, like books, model airplanes, original artwork, cameras and lenses, furniture and trinkets, to the very expensive things like airplanes and Lamborghinis, eBay offers a diverse collection of items at great discounts for people to bid or buy outright.

How to Find the Car you Want

When shopping on eBay, finding what you want is really simple. Plug the appropriate term into the search window and you will likely discover many related items. Type in a keyword or two and select a category, then search. If you need more options, go with the advanced search so that you can set more parameters. Once the listings are returned to you, browse the headings to find items that reflect what you want. You can click on the heading links and read the actual listings and if that isn't enough for you, contact the seller via email to get all the information that you need.

How to Bid

Once you have found that special car that you want, submit your bid. You can bid just enough to outbid your competition or you can set your bid at the highest you are willing to pay. The eBay system will bid in increments until your limit is reached. If you have to leave the eBay system you can still get your bid alerts via email. If someone outbids you the system will automatically email you to let you know. Many people have the alerts sent to their cell phones so that it chimes when they receive an email. This way it is possible to jump on to the eBay site and modify your bid if necessary.

Resources for Helping you Bid

Some eBay bidders will wait until the last moments of the auction and then make their bid. This last bid is usually placed just before the auction closes meaning there is no time for any other bids to be placed. This practice is called "sniping" and it is highly controversial. Some bidders feel that it is perfectly fine and an effective strategy for winning the auction. Other bidders, however, feel that the practice is unethical and sneaky. Whether you snipe or not is a personal decision. It is important, though, that you be aware that it is done regularly on eBay.

You should also beware of rare but possible scams. The website http://www.carbuyingtips.com/fraud.htm has some necessary tips and information that will help you.

You find great deals for pretty much everything on eBay and cars are no exception. You can find the car of your dreams on eBay and now that you know the ropes, it will be that much easier.

New Muscle Cars

Even from the time that Ford showed the way with the first classic "muscle car" in 1964 in the form of the Mustang, America has been in love.

Pretty well everyone has a favorite classic muscle car. Yours might be the 1964 Dodge Dart 426 Max Wedge 426 Hemi, 1966 Dodge Coronet 426-S, 1968 Ford Torino Cobra, 1968 Plymouth/Dodge intermediates with 426 Hemi, 1967 Ford Fairlane Cobra, 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass W-31 or the Australian 1973 XA Falcon GS Ute 302.

With the power that these cars offered, the Ford Mustang became the top selling car for many of the years during its "performance era." Times would seem to be very different, though, and there are many factors that would seem to dampen the muscle car's popularity. High fuel prices and strict Federal regulations would seem to be a force to a restriction for all that horsepower. But these horses can't be corralled and the muscle car still flies off the showroom floor, especially to the new generation. And for them, there is a new generation of muscle cars hitting the dealer lots.

Cadillac CTS-V

This high performance Cadillac makes this automaker a great addition to the muscle car ring. While the Cadillac name may not exactly say performance, the CTS-V delivers with power, top notch handling and a spacious cabin. Sporting impressive 400 horses of power with a 6.0 liter V8, this baby sits you in a stylish car with a surprisingly low and significant performance.

Pontiac GTO

GM finally brought back the "Goat", much to the delight of muscle car enthusiasts. One of the original muscle cars, the GTO was introduced in 1964 and ran through the 1974 production year. The goal with its re-introduction was to keep the awesome power of the GTO without making you own your own bank. With a 6.0 liter LS2 V8 offering 400 horses, the new breed of GTO ran from 2004 to 2006. But, this is one car that can't be held down and just has to emerge again in the future.

Infiniti G35

Typical of the new breed of muscle cars, the Infinity G35 offers sleek styling, great performance and top notch handling. Sporting a powerful 3.5 liter V6, 306 horses strong, you get the old school muscle car style combined with the newer, technological plusses of the 21st century. With this car, performance is its strong suit. It offers great handling and a very satisfying, "beauty meets beastly power" look and feel.

Lexus IS 350

Another luxury yet sporty number, the Lexus IS 350 offers 306 horsepower with its powerful V6. Its advanced safety technology give it an edge over some of the other high performance cars on the street. While you equate the Lexus name with luxury, the IS 350 shines with top performance as well.

Ford Mustang

You can't say muscle car without thinking about the Ford Mustang. The classic muscle car, this pony with horsepower has seen some big changes over the past several decades. The latest Mustang, though, still delivers with a wicked performance V8 version with 300 horses galloping under the hood in the GT version. The retro styling will take the old timers back and recruit new enthusiasts just discovering this classic to a new love.

There are many other muscle cars that could easily be included here and be competitive against their high performance cousins. It is worth your while to test drive a few of the next wave of muscle cars and find the performance package that turns you on. Performance, styling and handling make a muscle car, but you have to drive one to really appreciate it.

Audi To be worlds most expensive car

Deusenberg, Ferrari and Buggati are all fine automobiles, and all might logically hold the label as the World’s Most Expensive Car. However, the most expensive car in the world might not be the classic that readily comes to mind.

According to a feature in, all of all publications, the Jamaican Gleaner, a newspaper in Kingston, Jamaica, the most expensive car in the world might just be an Audi.

Business reporter John Myers Jr., details that Issa Transport Group (ITG), the Kingston representative for Audi, has an Audi A8 Security available via special order for $80 million.

Deborah Stewart, Audi brand and sales manager at ITG, says “Given its features, the A8 Security is ‘reasonably priced.’ “

The Audi A8 Security sedan has “standard” features such as full-cage outer-body armouring certified by the German Federal Police, run-flat tires, gas tank and battery armouring, double-mirror interior, emergency door exit,
silky-soft power-adjustable leather seats, refrigerator, retractable rear-seat tables, heated wind screen, multi-zone climate controls, and a slate of other comfort features.

The car is more than three times as expensive as the nearest luxury security equipped rival.

* The Mercedes Benz S500 -- $24 million. The S500 is equipped keyless ignition start, premium-leather ventilated massage front seats (rear seats optional), eight-way power-adjustable front seats (rear seats optional), parktronic with rear-view camera, night-view assistant, multizone climate-control system, blind-spot assistance, and 20-inch AMG sport wheels, along with a range of optional features that can be selected by the buyer.

4 more ways to cut the cost of your car insurance

The cost of motor insurance can vary hugely. There are many factors that can influence the premium you have to pay. Some you will have little or no influence on such as your age and experience or previous motoring offences. Others you can work on to reduce premiums. Your excess, the type of car you drive, its security system and how it's used for example.
The type of vehicle you drive

The more powerful the engine, the more expensive the car is to repair, and the more likely it is to be broken into or stolen will all affect the premium you have to pay.

The insurance industry has some standard car ratings, from one to twenty. However, many insurers now use their own systems. The rating of a new or used car depends mostly on the engine size and weight of the car as well as the cost of replacement parts and the probability it of theft.
Location

You might be the safest driver in the world, have an unblemished record on the road, never have been caught speeding, or been the victim of car crime, but if you live in the 'wrong' area your insurance premium can suffer. If you live in an inner city where you are more likely to be involved in an accident or have your car stolen, you will likely pay substantially more than someone who lives in a country village or leafy suburbia. Whether or not your car is kept in a garage can also make a difference.

Parking on a drive is also regarded as safer than private parking. Also, using a carport is generally considered as no better than parking on the street.

Ideally keep your car parked in a locked garage overnight. More than 50% of vehicle thefts occur during the night so if your car is safely locked away your insurance costs will come down.

Higher premiums also apply if you use your car for work especially if you happen to be employed in one of the professions regarded as higher risk – journalism, the licensed trade, HM Forces, professional entertainment, sport, music journalist, music, the media.

Including cover for drivers under the age of 25 will also affect the premium. Consider who to put as the main insured driver – If you have more penalty points than your spouse, putting him/her down as the main driver with you as a named driver on the policy could also cut the premium.
Car security

Car security – A car alarm, immobiliser or tracker will protect your vehicle from theft and should reduce the premium. All improvements to security should help to lower your car insurance costs.

If you are considering fitting such security devices it's best check that they are approved by your insurer also which ones will cut your car insurance quote the most.
Your excess

Opt to up the excess you are prepared to pay on any claim to reduce the premium. The more you are willing to cover yourself in the event of a claim the lower your premium.

Most policies have a compulsory excess and a voluntary excess which you can vary. Increasing the excess will reduce your premium as you are in effect taking some of the policy risk by paying a higher percentage of any claim. For example if you are sure that you won't make a claim for less than £500 then have an excess of this level and you will see your premium fall significantly.

Finally, one of the easiest ways to cut the cost of your insurance is to shop around. Finding competitive quotes is easier than ever with hundreds of websites available to find and compare quotes. Big players in the comparison market include Moneysupermarket.com and Confused.com where you can see quotes from different providers compared side by side.

The expansion of the market has brought in new players not traditionally associated with car insurance, including supermarkets such as Asda, while sites like Fish4Cars whose core service is finding used cars, offer a range of additional services to their users including car insurance.
