Golf training aids are designed to improve the part of the game that you are most lacking. Most are very affordable and can improve you putt, swing, drive, and chip. Most aids can be bought or ordered from a pro shop, but for the most selection and the best prices you might want to shop on the internet. Even online auctions have golf training aids that are used and in good condition. Once the bad practice is fixed by the aid, the owner is usually willing to pass it on at a low price. If you have a swing that breaks down at the left elbow, the tac-tic training aid is a great remedy for the problem. The pros put keep their lead arm fully extended and with this aid you can to. The tac tic elbow aid is like an elbow brace. It fits over the lower and upper arm and is hinged at the elbow. When the elbow breaks down during a swing the player is alerted by a click. You can use this in back yard practice, on the driving range, or while playing. It audibly makes the player aware of their breaking elbow and you become more conscious of your arm positioning. Soon you will be able to swing naturally with your lead arm and the training aid can be passed on to a fellow golfer. Charity events can be cumbersome if you do not have the ingredients to make it fun and interesting. Sure charity auctions are fun, but it might not interest the entire family. A gold tournament for charity is an exciting way to include your family in the event and at the same time raise money for a worthy cause. Most golf courses will host the even at no to little cost. If the golf course does charge the standard green free, double or triple the price in your golf tournament sign up fee. For example if the green fees are twenty five dollars have the sign up fee be fifty or seventy five dollars a person. The residuals can be divided up to refreshments after the tournament, prizes for the winners, and other amenities that would draw a crowd. The remainder of the money can go to the charity. You might want to set a percentage of the proceeds up front. This will eliminate any worry that the cost will outweigh the charitable donation. The first thing you need to do is get participants to sign up. If you have a lot of people at your workplace, this might be a good place to start. The tournament goes smoother when people that already know each other participate. On the sign up sheet mention the charity and the percentage of the proceeds up front. A list of what will be served at the after tournament party would be a nice draw. The prizes should be listed in descending order according to the worth of each prize. Cash is a great incentive, but merchandise is also a great crowd pleaser. A recent charity golf tournament offered a big screen HD TV as first prize and it recorded the biggest turn out to date. Remember to offer a prize for the worst score. A private golf lesson is a humorous and befitting prize for this team. Contact the golf course and reserve the entire course for the day. You can have everybody on a shot gun start if you want to save time. This means that everyone will start on a different hole at the same time. You just rotate around the course in ascending numbers until you finish at the hole that is just before the one you started at. This will usually take around five hours. If everyone has a tee time and starts at hole one, the tournament will take longer and will cost you more money in the long run. The golf course would probably prefer a shot gun because they probably have customers lined up to play after your tournament. You might want to mix up the players a little. You might want to make sure each team has a child if it is a family golf tournament. Some families might be better than others or have older children that could skew the fairness of the tournament. This will also give families a chance to get to know each others children and build relationships within the community. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:46:00 +0100 Golf Putting Tips and Tricks Did you know that putting is probably the most important part of your golf game? In order to put an end to the 3 putt syndrome, you need to work on your putting on a daily basis. A good idea would be to schedule a time every day for practice. By setting up a daily routine, you can make putting practice a habit that can serve you well. Make a list of all the aspects of putting that you feel you need to work at. A good place to start is distance control. Almost every golfer could use some improvement in this department! If you want lower scores, this is one way to get them, for if you can control the speed of your ball and the distance it travels, your putting game is certain to improve. How can you practice distance control without having to buy a lot of expensive golfing accessories? Every golfer has an ample supply of tees. A few of these and of course, your putter are all you need for this exercise, and you can work in the privacy of your own backyard. Choose a spot and set up a tee anywhere from 6 to 8 feet away from you. What you will be doing is attempting to hit the ball as close to the tee as possible. This is going to give you a feel for how to regulate your distance. Control is everything when it comes to putting! Once you have gotten to be pretty good at maneuvering the ball very close to the tee with each shot, its time to branch out a bit. Since golf tees are very small, you need to decide on something a little larger that you can see from 10, 20, and 30 feet away, for those are the distances you will be practicing your distance control on next. At this stage of your practice, you may want to invest in a set of small golf flags, or if you are budget-minded, try visiting a dollar store in your area. Look around for small garden flags these will work well. Whatever you can figure out to mark three spots to putt toward will be fine. You are going to simulate hitting the ball from one end of the green to the other. Be aware that at this point in your practice, you are not aiming for the hole. You are just working on consistently hitting the ball further and further away, up to the 30 foot mark you have designated. Continue to work at your distance and control until you can see an improvement. Next, its time to try to actually sink the ball in a hole. A commercially available putting cup is ideal for this. These are painted with bright paint so that they are easier to spot, and are actually used for practice sessions at golf courses world wide, so you will be in good company. Start about 3 feet away from the hole, and practice until you are consistently sinking the ball each time. When this happens, move back 6 feet, and continue practicing until you can get at least five balls in a row into the hole. Practice putting from every angle all around your makeshift putting green. This form of practice cannot help but give you a lot of confidence in your putting and in your golf game as a whole. Putting is such a big part of having success with the game that just a half hour spent in practice each day will improve your game. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:43:00 +0100 Golf Putting Strategies In order to be a good golfer, you must develop the ability to putt well, and this calls for daily practice. In fact, to be blunt, if you do not take the time to practice putting, you may as well quit the game and take up knitting or raising orchids putting is that important to you golf score. So, what are the best ways to improve your putting game? Study other golfers while they are putting. It looks as if many of them have putting worked out to a fine science. In truth, most good putters have visualize exactly what steps they are going to take before they even grip the shaft of the putter. It really does help to plan each step when it comes to putting, and many professional golfers found out long ago that planning and visualization are one of the best ways to improve their putting game. These two things and lots of practice, practice, practice. Golf is not as easy a sport as it looks. Those who dont know a whole lot about the game may think its quite easy to hit a ball into a hole with a stick, but those who have played the game know that the reality is far different. Golfing takes good coordination, and practice. Did I mention practice? Putting is such a big part of the game of golf that well over half of your putting time should be devoted to improving your putting game. Putting takes good eye/hand coordination and excellent motors skills. These can take some time to develop. While you could install a personal putting green in the middle of your living room, the next best thing is to take that idea outdoors. Or, if you dont want to spring for the cost of creating your own mini golf course, how about buying yourself one of those indoor/outdoor putting greens? You get the same effect as a real putting green, and some of the fancier substitutes will even roll the ball right back to your feet after each putt! Set aside a block of time every day to practice, if you can. The beauty of the indoor/outdoor putting green is that you can use it rain or shine, summer or winter. Its easy to watch golf tournaments on television to observe the pros in action and hopefully pick up some tips. Its easy to read golf magazines and books to pick up tips on putting and golf in general. But, one of the very best ways in existence to become a better golfer is to have tons of patience. Why patience? It takes patience to understand all the many rules, terms, and nuances of golf. It takes patience to practice putting and driving. You cannot improve you golf game overnight, and patience is the only thing that will get you through the hours of practice that are necessary. Patience and a healthy dose of optimism will go a long way toward making you a better golfer. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:40:00 +0100 Good Deals on Golf Club Memberships In Montana

As with other sports, the manners and etiquette you use on the golf course defines what kind of a person you are and how you respect the game and the rights of others. To have bad golf etiquette can alienate you from potential friends and golf partners. Nobody wants to play with someone who does not respect the game or themselves. When you first start golf you may not know what good golf etiquette is. Even if you been on the links for years you might have forgotten a couples of rules or you might not know about some of them at all. When getting around the course most people use carts. There is etiquette with carts as well. Most courses will have posted cart rules. When you see a cart path only, do not deviate from the course given. You could damage the greens or get the cart stuck. Some courses have a ninety degree rule. They do not want you to park you carts on inclines that are or exceed ninety degrees. Keep your cart out of sand traps or other hazards. They are not made to go four wheeling and you could severely damage the hazard. Once you drive, please repair the divots that your club has made. Simply put the pieced of sod back in the hole your club has made and press it down. If the course is wet or very dry, your ball could make marks on the green, and it will kill the grass. Try to repair these scratches the best you can. When in a sand trap, rake it after you leave. The footprints you live in the sand can capture another players ball and make it almost impossible for them to hit it out. Here are so other etiquette does and donts. When someone is taking a swing or trying to make a putt. Keep quiet. Noise distracts what the golfer is doing and could cost him a stroke. Dont yell after making a bad shot. Your partner might not mind but the people on another hole will notice it. Watch your shadow. If you shadow fall across the ball your partner could misjudge his swing. Especially on the putting green your shadows can play havoc with your partners eyesight. Watch walking in the putting line of your partner. You wouldnt think so but the weight of your body can leave a depression in the grass or soil big enough to change the path of the ball. It is best to walk around so the sun is in your face and there are no footprints on the putting green. Keep a good pace while you are playing. If you start slowing down you could back up the entire course. Not only do you frustrate golfers behind you, you slow the tee time schedule off. If you are not moving fast enough, the course ranger will help you do so. A way not to slow down is never spend too much time looking for a lost ball. Take the stroke and put out a new ball. Wait until you are backed up by another player. If you have the time look into a couple of bushes. You may make up that lost ball by finding a new one. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:36:00 +0100 Good Golf Deals for Couples at Torrey Pines for the U.S. Open 2008
As the golf season for 2007 is winding down and the leaves of Autumn begin to turn most people think about all of the chores to be done before Winter sets in. Most people does not include the avid golf fan and amateur player. The thrill of that first kick off for the football season takes second seat to making plans for next years U.S. Open at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California beginning June 12, 2008. This is the time to make vacation plans to attend the U.S. Open because if you wait until Spring, 2008 I can guarantee the pickings will be slim to none. The results of a random drawing for public tickets will be announced on September 30, 2007. If you have not submitted an application you will need to go through a private vendor. The practice play begins June 9 and continues to final play on Sunday June 15. If an extra round is needed the play will continue until Monday. Spectators need tickets for practice play and all round play. Vacation Packages for Couples: The golf couple have some great choices in the selection of hotel and U.S. Golf Tickets. A packaged U.S. Open deal offered by Sports Traveler provides a four star experience for couples. The Hilton San Diego Resort is a fabulous hotel. The U.S. Open Golf deal also provides Trophy Club tickets for the final two rounds of the event. There is a shuttle service to Torrey Pines and pick up service after the round. A breakfast buffet for each day of your stay and souvenirs. The check in is Friday, June 13 and check out is Sunday June 15. There is a general pass for U.S. Open tickets, but I would strongly suggest the Trophy Club tickets on the Sunday, final round. The spokesperson for tickets to Torrey Pines thinks the Trophy Club affords the spectator access to the VIP area and tent area as well as other advantages. The cost for the couple packaged deal is around $2500. If you prefer general passes you may deduct $200. The Torrey Pines Golf Course is North of the village of La Jolla. Many of the charming hotels are about five miles South of the golf course. A favorite hotel spot for couples or familiies is the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club. This magnificent old charm hotel is located on the lovliest stretch of beach in La Jolla. The rooms and bungalows in the complex provide views of the ocean, gardens and all have access to the beach. The fabulous hotel restaurant the Marine Room is a landmark in La Jolla and features a fine dining cuisine that is beyond compare. The hotel should be contacted personally as soon as possible to make hotel reservations for the U.S. Open time frame. The La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club ranges in price between $209 to $400 per night for couples. The Club accepts AAA discount cards. For this special event a couple can celebrate a postponed anniversary by combining romance and golf. Tickets for the U.S. Open are available through several outlets currently. The ticket outlet that I can personally recommend is Stub Hub. This on-line ticket outlet provides tickets to a wide range of events. Their reliability is guaranteed by the Better Business Bureau, VeriSign, TRUSTe, and Hacker Safe. Currently, general pass tickets for all rounds are available. The cost is $675 per person for all practice rounds and days of play, including the extra day Monday in the event play is extended. The cost for the third round and final round play, Saturday and Sunday is in a range of $185 per day, per person for a general pass. A trophy club ticket will cost in the vicinity of $233 per day, per person. The public tickets that are awarded by the USGA after the September 30, 2007 drawing may find other good golf deals going on the Stub Hub web site or other public web sites located at San Diego Golf dot com. Other Options: There are also some fine hotels in the La Jolla area that are within five to seven miles from Torrey Pines Golf Course. The Hyatt is a great hotel with a good staff. The Marriott offers reasonably priced rooms and helpful staff and amenities. The Doubletree Hotel San Diego/Del Mar is an outstanding hotel that offers exquisite rooms and excellent service. The Double Tree Hotel is a little further from Torrey Pines, but it may be worth the drive. The other suggestion is look at some of the smaller hotels and motels in Pacific Beach. The beach town of Pacific Beach is charming. It has great sidewalk cafes and shops. Generally speaking, Pacific Beach has less expensive motel and hotel accomodations. It is about 10 to 12 miles from Torrey Pines Golf Course, but the price and charm of Pacific Beach may persuade you to stay. The U.S. Open is an event that everyone should attend once in their lifetime. The additional benefit is the selection of the San Diego area. The beaches are incredible, the golf course is beautiful and the food is excellent. Start making plans now to attend the U.S. Open in La Jolla, so you will not kick yourself in the Spring, 2008. The other option is a fantastic outdoor toy manufactured by Buzz Bee Toys called 18-Hole Miniature Golf. This toy allows the parents to create a miniature golf course in their back yard. The miniature golf course provides the opportunity to make the course easy for the three year old and more complex as the child grows. It comes with a Clown and windmill hole with a returnable ball feature. It has 18 flags, two putters, 18 putting cups, four golf balls, five sand trap pieces and other pieces for you to design an age appropriate family miniature golf course. The great deal is the affordable price of less than $60. The four year old is often times referred to as the Little General. What he or she lacks in physical or emotional maturity is exceeded by sheer bravado. This age may like a toy set of clubs of their very own that mimics the adult golfer. There are some great toy sets of golf clubs. One fun set of kids clubs is the Hard Sided Golf Set For Active Kids. This is a hard plastic golf bag on rollers with a driver, wedge and putter. The set includes four plastic golf balls, tees and built in ball and tee holders. The toy is rugged and can be easily rolled for a day at the park or in the back yard. The cost is less than $30. Some of the golf pro shops carry individual drivers, irons and putters for children ages three to five. One manufacturer is Red Zone. The size 0 is for the age three child. The Red Zone may be purchased as a set. Tour Edge is another manufacturer of children clubs. The starter sets cover ages three to eight years old. These sets come with a stand up Sunday bag and do appear to be a child version of the adult set. The advantage of purchasing these brands through your local golf pro shop is the offer to give you a 50 percent reduction on your child's next level of clubs when you turn in the out grown set. Both children sets sell for less than $90. Check with your local golf pro shop to make sure this offer is available in your area. Family Fun Means Fun For Everyone: Summing up long experience working with children, the key to providing kids golf opportunities begins with parents. Parents set the tone of any activity. The parents are the coaches, teachers and models of the child's world. As parents we want our children to enjoy the game. There are some good deals on family fun golf activities. Have some fun! Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:33:00 +0100 Gas or Electric Golf Cart
Depending on how you want to use your golf cart as well as your budget will determine whether you want to purchase a gas or electric golf cart. While an electric golf cart costs less money to run, many people prefer a gas golf cart because they are cheaper and generate more power. If you are planning on using the golf cart on the road in your retirement community, you may opt to purchase a gas golf cart instead of an electric golf cart. Because of environmental concerns, most of the newer golf carts on the market now run on electric instead of gasoline. However, when choosing between a gas or electric golf cart, price is not the only consideration. If you are planning on taking your golf cart on a longer trip, or using it for a long period of time, you may find that the gas golf cart has certain advantages over the electric golf cart. You can keep gasoline with you in the cart and refill when necessary when using a gas golf cart. With an electric golf cart, however, you need to recharge the battery to keep it running. As long as you are using the golf cart outside and there are no environmental concerns that prohibit the use of gas operated golf carts, you can choose either a gas or electric golf cart for use. Both types of golf carts are available for golf course use and road use. In many retirement communities, golf carts are the primary source of travel. This is also the case in many campgrounds. Having a golf cart is an easy way to get around and just about anyone can operate these simple machines. In addition to using golf carts to drive around the community, many people use them on farms or for hunting. There are several different uses for golf carts that were originally designed for use on the golf course. Even large corporations have golf carts that shuttle people back and forth between buildings. Today, golf carts are used in many different ways. There is a price difference to consider when choosing between gas or electric golf carts. Gas golf carts are cheaper and generally have more power than electric golf carts, however they cannot be used indoors and emit fumes. Electric golf carts are more expensive, but emit no fumes and are welcomed everywhere. Many golf retirement communities are pressuring people to get rid of their gas operated golf carts and use the electric golf carts that are healthier for the air. Although cheaper to purchase, gas golf carts cost more money to run than electric golf carts, particularly as the price of gasoline continues to rise. Electric golf carts simply need to be recharged and require nothing but a charged battery to run. Whether or not you choose to buy a gas or electric golf cart will depend on how you wish to use the golf cart, how much money you have to spend on the cart and any environmental factors that affect your community. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:31:00 +0100 Foxfire Resort And Golf Course The East And West Courses
Foxfire Resort and Golf Course is located in Foxfire Village, North Carolina, in the Pinehurst Area Golf Resort vicinity. Many golfers have come from all over the U.S. and internationally to play here. When this golf course was designed, the architect took into consideration the scenery, which is comprised of rolling hills and lots of lakes. This facility has East and West golf courses that present golfers with year-round green fairways and long leaf pines that hang. This golf course prides itself on keeping a standard of excellence about their facility. The East Course The East Course is said the most stimulating of the two courses. The terrain surrounding it is hilly and doglegs pierce through tall and towering pines. The layout is well bunkered and the greens are elevated. The bunkers surrounding it are also deep. This helps the golfers to place the golf ball on the correct side of the fairway for the best approach angle. The golfers have to figure it out this way because the greens are smaller. All of the golfers that play here are provided with a challenge in regards to this. If you are situated at the 1st tee box, you can look down and see a large lake that divides the fairway. Because of the way its situated, the golfers are required to hit three or five woods. If you have a par 5, you would have to take a shot across the hazard and get to the deep green. In order to do this, you would have to get to the narrow. With the 6th hole, the tee shot has to be solid in order for it to cross the large pond. Golfers are not required carry water on the forward tees. The newer holes on the east golf course have steep hills and breathtaking views. Holes #9, #12 and #13 are said to be the most scenic. Since they are, greatly placed tee shots are required. The multi-layered green approaches are smaller than the opening holes. This golf course will prove to be a challenge for many years to come. The West Course The West Course is popular among lots of golfers. The fairways are cut and shaped carefully and the large rolling greens are elevated. The golfers experience forced carries from the back tees because of the water. In order to quickly get the erratic golf shot, the fairway bunkers are installed at different locations. There are also places on the golf course where you can bail out, avoiding the most serious drop offs and deep bunkers. Because of the risk/reward shots, the more seasoned golf players will either play it cool or find a way to get around it. Playing on the 2nd hole is supposedly the most difficult one. The longest hitters try to carry the water, but have to make sure they fly the ball in excess of 260 yards in order for the hazard to clear. At the 12th hole, the measured number is 573. There is a tight second shot and trying to approach a triple tiered green. Even with all of this, go ahead and give it a try. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:29:00 +0100 Finding the right equipment
Before rushing out and buying all kinds of equipment for the game of golf do a little research. You may be tempted to spend hundreds of dollars on the set of clubs you think will work. You may be able to figure it out before investing in the new set. When you are looking for the right clubs ask the store which carries them if there is a trial period before buying. This way you can get a feel for how the clubs are going to perform for you. You do not have to buy a full set either. When just starting out you only need to buy a 5-wood, your putter, the 7-iron, and a wedge. This will give you a good idea of how well you and the clubs will perform. You want to buy a set of clubs because of how they work with your game. Just because they look good or feel good will not make a bit of difference if they do not help the game. You are also going to want a set of clubs that fits. You can do this one of two ways. There are shops which will custom fit your clubs. This can be expensive. The other way is to find a manufacturer who has several sets of clubs in varying lengths. You can even find some clubs designed for the shorter woman, one that is under 5'2. These are perfect because there are so many women becoming more involved in the game of golf. Once you understand each club has a purpose you can use the proper club for what it was meant for. The higher the number on the club the longer the distance the ball will go. (theoretically) You must keep your clubs clean so the ball can spin the way it was meant to when you hit it. You can do this with a club cleaning brush. You may also want to carry a towel to wipe the clubs after use. Golf balls come in every color of the rainbow. And everyone just went out and bought the same color. You will be able to keep better track of your balls on the course by marking your ball. Use something original so you will know it is yours. This can save you many a lost ball. You will be able to instantly know if it is your ball you spotted also. There are hundreds of golf bags on the market. You will want to find one that is easy for you to handle. When you go to the shops and look around do not be afraid to pick up the bags and check them out. This is your golf purse. Decide if the pockets are right. Does it feel right on the shoulder? Examine it thoroughly before you purchase it. You do not want to go out the first day and get frustrated over the golf bag. There are golf hand carts that can help also. Some are remote controlled. Others have a simple handle which allows you to wheel the bag over the course. This saves on the back. You may wish to invest in one for the convenience. Just remember when buying your golf equipment you can check it all out before making a big investment. You will want to find the right equipment for you. You want the things which will improve your game not cost you more money. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:28:00 +0100 Finding Your Golf Swing Tempo
In order to create your perfect golf swing, you must first find your golfing tempo. However, many people arent aware that golf even has a tempo to it. This is one of the best golf swing tips that you can find, because whenever you find your specific golfing tempo, than you will be making beautiful music on the golf course. Any golfer, no matter the experience level, has always had this situation happen to them. They hit a beautifully at one hole, and then suddenly at the next, they completely loose their touch. The ball doesnt go where they wanted it too, and the frustration of this game starts to settle in. However, why did this happen? How can a golfer suddenly be on top of his or her game, and then without any notice, their shots are terrible and their game suffers dramatically. There are several reasons why this could happen. One might be lack of focus or improper club grip, however, the main reason why this happens so often, is this golfer became disconnected with his or her swinging tempo. Your golfing tempo is the key to having a perfect golf game, every time. However, like baseball or any other sport, if you fall out of your swinging, or playing, tempo than the end result will be nothing more than a mess. But how can you suddenly loose your swinging tempo? The loss of tempo can happen because of many variables; however, the number one reason is tension in your body. By loosing your tempo, you arent necessarily loosing the technique of the swing, actually the physical technique can be perfect but without the correct tempo technique means nothing. The basic definition of swinging tempo, is the amount of time it takes for a person to complete a swing. A good tempo creates equally moving parts among your entire body, and the ending result is a swing that appears, and feels, to be completely effortless. If you go to the driving range, than you will definitely witness several people that have outstanding swinging tempo. But how do they keep good tempo? Swinging tempo is a combination effort of your entire body. It is the smoothness of having your arms, torso and lower body work together, in unison, to create a beautiful swing. How you can practice finding your tempo is extremely easy, but it does take practice. A good way to start is by picking a club that you are comfortable with, try to stay away from your drivers. Now, without a ball present, begin practicing your swing. Feel how your arms and shoulders work together. After you have learned how to swing without any tension in your body, and you feel that you are ready to practice with golf balls. Go to the driving range, and try to recreate the feeling of swinging your golf club in perfect timing with your body. Now, suddenly change to a different iron, and see if you can maintain your swing. By constantly changing your irons, you will be able to teach your body how to keep your swinging tempo no matter what you are swinging with. By doing this, you will learn how to keep your body in perfect tempo with the golf club, and you will begin to feel what it is like to effortlessly hit a hole-in-one. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:27:00 +0100 Fashion on the course
Women have been involved in golf for many years. Until recently there was not much difference in the fashion for men or women. The styles were similar as well as the colors. The same old Polo shirts and dull khaki hues were considered fashionable. That has all changed with the introduction of ladies fashions for the golf course. Women golfers have started designer clothes for other women golfers to introduce fashion and color to the course. You can find beautiful clothes in stylish fashions and colors. These clothes were designed for the busy executive woman. She can wear these trendy clothes in the office and right out onto the golf course. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:22:00 +0100 Economy Golf Carts
Are you looking for something to give the golfer in your life? Why not give them a golf cart that they can pull around the golf course instead of having to drag their clubs all over the place? Economy golf carts give a golfer an opportunity to walk the golf course without having the burden of carrying their clubs, which, for some people, is too difficult, particularly in hot weather. They make an ideal gift for anyone who enjoys the game of golf. Economy golf carts are the best way to enjoy the game of golf while walking the course instead of riding. They are three wheeled carts that are light enough to fold up and put into your car yet strong enough to carry your bag and clubs. You can push the clubs along on the three wheels without having to drag them across your shoulders. This makes it easy to walk the course and get all the exercise you need without having to either hire a caddy or drag the clubs along with you. Those who have a bad back but still want to walk the golf course for the exercise will find the convenience of these economy golf carts invaluable. Economy golf carts are available just about anywhere that golf clubs and bags are sold. You can get them for as low as $30.00 in some outlets. Some higher priced models cost as much as $200 but usually contain such perks as drink carriers and scorecard holders. Those who simply want something to carry their clubs can easily get a quality economy golf cart for less than $100.00. More people than ever are taking up the sport of golf. Yet many golf courses do not offer caddy services. They often hope you will pay to rent one of their motorized golf carts. Most people do not like the idea of carrying their clubs through the game. It not only slows them down, but makes them more tired and can even make their game suffer. Yet we all recognize the benefits of exercise, especially walking. For this reason, more golfers than ever are opting for pull golf carts whenever they go to the course. Those who are able bodied enough to want to get all of the benefits of walking yet do not want to carry their clubs enjoy the convenience of economy golf carts that allow them to leisurely push their clubs along on wheels instead of across their backs. Anyone interested in purchasing economy golf carts can find many different outlets online in which to do so. In many cases, online outlets that feature economy golf carts have better prices than the stores and in some cases, you do not have to pay a sales tax, which makes up for the shipping charges. There has never been a better time to be a golfer than now. Anyone who enjoys the sport of golf will love having one of these economy golf carts to take with them to the golf course. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:19:00 +0100 Eagle Ridge Golf ClubThe Golf Course With A Different Feel Eagle Ridge Golf Club is located about 15 miles from Raleigh, North Carolina. It is nestled in a wooded area and is surrounded within a 6,904 yard track. Since it opened in October 2000, this facility has provided golfers from beginners to pros a challenging test of their skill. Tom Kite, the 1992 Open Champion, designed this course. He didnt just allow them to borrow his name; he was an integral part in the construction, development and design. Its been said that Tom personally came at least two dozen times during the development of the golf course. He wanted to make sure that this was a top notch project, ensuring the quality that he has come to know. When the project was planned, Mr. Kite knew he had the right area. He had the golf course built on a land that had plenty of hills, creeks and trees. He wanted to make sure it was just right for those who wanted to play golf. He also knew the attitudes of the locals and wanted to have a setting where they would always want to come and play. Mr. Kite is also known for his tenacious attitude and he decided to ask Bob Cupp, who has some experience in golf course design, to assist. He also assisted Jack Nicklaus as a Senior Designer for his projects. He also called in others to help with the course building and rebuilding of greens and bunkers. Eagle Ridge is his fourth golf course that he has helped to create. The semi-private facility provides a natural beauty for the golf course and allows you to feel comfortable while youre playing the game. In addition to that, the course is also featured with six par 3s and five par 5s. The large greens have a few slopes and Mr. Kite said the key to a good golf game is to hitting it close to the pin, including more than just the green. Eagle Ridge allows you to check your accuracy with three par 3s on the front and back nines. The most difficult hole on the course is supposedly the 10th hole. The 10th hole is located in a 579-yard, par 5 shot makers test. That is strange, because it is handicapped in fourth place as being the most difficult. In order to play this hole well, you must be totally focused and engaged on every shot you make. Mr. Kite tries to make his holes traditional, but because of the wetlands development or steep hills, its not always possible for that to happen. He ended up creating a mixture that can produce the best holes. The golf ranges at Eagle Ridge are designed to improve your golf game at every angle. Eagle Ridge also has golf carts available that are installed with the GPS system. This way you can determine the pin distance, enjoy plenty of golf tips and keep score. Mr. Kites layout can be enjoyed by all, from the amateur to the pro at heart. If youre looking for a top golf course that has a different feel, try Eagle Ridge Golf Club. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:17:00 +0100 Driving Range Visits Improve Driving for Distance
If you are looking for one of the best ways to improve your driving for distance, then you need to plan to spend a significant amount of time at your local driving range. There are many benefits that come with spending time at a driving range, not all of which are related to powerful drives worthy of Tiger or countless other favorites on the Pro tours. In all honestly, you can learn a lot about your game and the games of others by spending time at the driving range and really paying attention to what is going on with your swing and the swings of those around you. Time at a driving range is fairly inexpensive, particularly when compared to time on a golf course. You also dont have to worry (in many cases) about people needing your lane in the driving course or playing up behind you. This means you can really take your time and study what is working and what isnt. It also means that you have the opportunity to play around and try new things without affecting your score. While driving distance is important, accuracy and control are also very important. You can use your time at the driving range not only to increase your driving for distance but also to learn how to better control your balls and where they land. Use your time to eliminate hooks and slices and this will make your drives count even more. This is true even if you have a little less distance but develop the ability to better determine where on the course your ball will land. If you have a fairway that bends or has nasty sand traps along the edges you can learn to hit your ball in specific ways to avoid those nasty traps and the necessity to dig your way out of no mans land. This is just as important to your overall score as driving for distance could ever be. But when it comes to driving for distance your time allows you to set up and take your time working on developing the proper swing mechanics that are necessary in order to consistently hit the ball farther each time without sacrificing the control you work so hard to maintain over the ball. We dont always have the luxury of spending time setting up the ball when playing on limited weeknights or weekend days when courses are typically crowded. Instead we need to practice these things so much on the driving range that we can do them without putting too terribly much thought into it when it matters. In other words we want those powerful swings that make driving for distance possible to be second nature rather than something we have to think through each and every time. Spending countless hours at the driving range perfecting your swing will make this the rule rather than the exception. If you are looking for maximum results with minimum expense then you need to make plans to spend a good amount of time practicing your drives at the local driving range. This will provide driving for distance results you can see. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:17:00 +0100 Driving for Distance without Breaking your Back
Golfers will try all kinds of desperate acts in hopes of improving their driving distances and their abilities to drive for new and further distances than ever before. The problem is that a good many of these things do very little, if anything, to actually improve the game of the golfers attempting them. More often than not the techniques and tips will hurt your game rather than making it better. If you want to get the most out of your golf game when driving for distance you would do yourself a favor to consider some of the following tips. 1) Dont concentrate on swinging harder. This is a huge mistake that many golfers make when attempting to swing for distance. The problem is that they often pull and stretch things that shouldnt even really be taxed as the result of a golf swing in addition to searching high and low for where their ball actually landed. It is often not a good scenario. Rather than spending efforts trying to swing harder and get more power you should be devoting your attention to swinging your club correctly. This will accomplish so much more in the end. While grip it and rip it isnt the best advice for all golfers it can greatly improve the games when driving for distance of golfers who over-think their swings. 2) Be consistent. Pay attention to what you do in every swing. Notice differences that are made and study the results of those differences. When you find something that works to improve your driving for distance, then you should consistently incorporate that particular movement into every drive you make. 3) Avoid gimmicks. The best advice on improving your driving for distance will often come from sources that arent trying to sell you something. Of course you will get all kinds of advice from your fellow golfers but take that with a grain of salt. If their wisdom was all that wonderful, chances are that they would be on the PGA tour rather than hanging out the local golf course with you and the rest of their buddies. Seek wisdom from those that are offering advice freely without encouraging you to buy their 5 part series unless they are offering a series of personal lessons tailored to your specific golf game. Many of these lessons, tools, and techniques are designed for a wide audience rather than a specific audience and I dont know about you but Im a specific golfer not a general golfer. I prefer advice Im paying for to be custom suited for my specific golfing and driving for distance needs. I know of very few golfers, even those on the PGA tour that dont occasionally struggle with driving for distance. All golfers have good and bad days along the way. The trick for you is in find a way to have more good than bad days and then understanding what changes you made in your golf game to make this happen. If you do this, then driving for distance will be an occasional agony rather than a daily struggle. Sun, 20 Jan 2008 21:13:00 +0100 Do You Need Golf Swing Lessons?

The desire for more power isnt something that Tim Allen made up. He might have made it famous but men and women everywhere are constantly seeking more power when it comes to their golf swings. Many assume that more power equals greater distance. This isnt exactly the case but the ability to drive greater distances when playing golf is definitely something that many seek and hope to improve with each and every round of golf they play. Driving for distance is often the primary focus of many golfers. Unfortunately there are those that find what they are seeking at the sacrifice of control, which is also important in your game. One way to improve your abilities when it comes to driving for distance is to make the investment in custom made golf clubs. This is no small investment and should not be taken lightly. At the same time, for the avid golfer, this is an investment that is well worth the money in the improved scores, better play, and improved enjoyment of the game overall. A good set of clubs that are custom fitted for your height, your swing, and your needs for flexibility can bring about serious improvements when it comes to driving for distance. You must make sure however, that you are using a reputable dealer when having your clubs made in order to insure that you are getting the best possible clubs for your money. Golf clubs are not inexpensive and many people cannot afford a complete custom set in one fell swoop. If you are one of these people, I suggest starting out with a very nice set of clubs that will help you overall and working your way up to the custom clubs that will offer the best possible assistance to your specific golf club needs. You can purchase your custom set one club at a time. I suggest you begin with the driver, specifically if your biggest obstacle is driving for distance. Then replace your fairway woods one at a time until you have the entire set and are willing to move on to irons or a chipper. In addition to insuring that the shaft on your custom clubs has the right amount of flex for your driving for distance needs you should also check to be sure that it offers a respectable loft for your golf game and is the proper height. The average clubs are made for people that are average height. If you are taller or shorter than the average person you might find that you need a little more or less length in your club for optimal performance. Little things such as this can greatly affect the consistency of your golf game in general as well as driving for distance specifically. Be sure you put a great deal of time, thought, and effort into finding the best company to go with when making your custom clubs and if you ever feel that they arent up to your standards, do not hesitate to find a company that is. Golf is a very unique sport that requires more than just physical agility. One must be completely focused, as well as physically limber to perform the tasks at hand. Much like any other sport, endurance is not the entire equation for a successful game. You must able to accurately control all of your muscles involved, keep a steady hand, and always have complete mental focus for the entire game. However, there is one aspect of golf that is the heart and soul of the game. And that is the art of the golf swing. Many people may think that swinging a golf club doesnt take much agility or sportsmanship; however, those who think this couldnt be more wrong. In order to play this sport successfully, you must master the art of the golf swing, however, this has taken many people their entire lives to even come close to achieving their perfect golf swing. Seeing that the golf swing is a mysterious, and yet powerful, form in the game of golf, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of golf schools across the country. However, if you dont have a basic understanding of how a golf swing is constructed, than these schools arent going to do much good. The golfing swing is the result of many variables working together for one goal. Your upper body must work as one, all the way from your hips to your wrists. Also, your lower body must be stable and maintain a constant level of durability and flexibility. The best golf swing tips must start from the foundation of the golf swing, and then work their way up to the golf club. First you must start with your foot positions when setting up for a golf swing. The distance between your feet will vary depending on the type of golf club that you are using, however, most of your golfing clubs will require your feet to be at least shoulder length apart. However, if you are using longer clubs, than you will want to widen your stance by an inch or more. The same type of rule is for whenever you are using shorter golf clubs, except the rule is reversed. If you are swinging with shorter golf clubs, than you will want to narrow your stance slightly compared to the original, shoulder-length stance. Having proper footing while playing golf is extremely important because your feet are the foundation for your entire golf swing, however, if you have improper footing, than your entire golf game will be affected by this. The next major tip is how do you initially swing the golf club? Whenever you are going to swing the golf club, you must first organize your arms, wrists and shoulders to work together as a team. Make sure that you do not carry any tension within your arms or hands. One of the biggest mistakes that beginner golfers make is using their arms as the source of all the golfing power. Whenever you do this you are interrupting the golfing tempo, and will loose the control that you need in order to have a successful golf swing. Another tip is making sure that you do not allow your club to fall below parallel with the ground in your back-swing, or when you initially set-up your golf swing. Whenever you allow the golf club to fall below parallel with the ground, you will be loosing the control of your down swing, which will ultimately end in a failed swing attempt. |
