attached file: type: audio/mpeg size: 62.12 MB here Mon, 03 Mar 2008 14:41:17 +0100 On this weeks super sized show. We run through some quick news about the new Terminator film and the Blu-Ray Release of Cloverfield. Bill goes into a rant about remakes and what's that sound? it must be names dropping. we take a look at the second and final film in our Jodorsky series which is the mind fuck that is "The Holy Mountain". We go into our first Listener suggested top six list "Films we didn't think we would like but did" and we ride dangerously close to Fanboyville as we read our 10 Questions with Bruce Campbell interview.
Below is the Transcript from our Bruce Campbell interview( I know we read it but I said I would post it so I am) B&R,Here you go...BC 1.Is the concept behind "my name is Bruce" that fans once they latch onto a popular and classic character that they only see that and not the actual actor. BC-Basically, do you want people to stop calling you "ash" everywhere you go?I didn't do the movie because of that, but it's a great chance to riff on both public perceptions and on-screen persona. People will be very confused after they see the movie because I will have messed with their heads. That works for me. 2.When you're talking about horror movies and B movies I feel like you get a special kind of fan. Have fans every come up to you with anything out of the normal like they named their kid ash or show you a bubba ho-tep tattoo? Any good examples? BC-I've seen Ash tattooed on arms, legs, backs and boobs - and it's all good, because it's free advertising! 3 I've heard you described as "the best reverse actor in Hollywood" was this something you were trained in (tumbling) or did it just happen out of the budget restraints from the evil dead series? It happened because of the technical needs of Evil Dead II. Sam Raimi shoots really challenging stuff, and sometimes you can only get the effect he's looking for by doing things backward. There is no school to learn that - no night classes. It's on-the-job training. 4.Evil Dead was the first "video nasty" in England as well as being shunned in many other European countries. Was this something that you guys were upset over or did you see it as a badge of honor? BC-Both. The ratings system in just about every country, particularly ours, has its head up its ass. We need a level playing field for low budget movies and high budget ones, otherwise "classy" movies will always get ratings favor. 5.Do you have one project that you worked on that you're particularly fond of that you feel never got the attention it deserved? BC-Yeah, Running Time. It's a cool, black & white film, shot almost in real time. Check it out. Very groovy. 6.Outside of acting you have had many roles (writer, producer, voice work, director) where does your heart lie out of these roles.? BC-I like the whole ball of wax because the whole film making is interesting to me. Wearing more hats is also a way to avoid boredom on a film set. 7.What is the current info on My Name is Bruce, is there a release date set yet? BC-No release date yet, because we have only just now completed the flick. It will hit small and large screens in 08. 8.After writing "Make Love* The Bruce Campbell Way" have you run into any of the actors or Hollywood big wigs featured in the book?(does Robert Evans have a hit out on you?) BC-Nope. I never go to Hollywood, so the chances of that are slim and none and that's the way I like it. 9.Going back to the early days, where did you see your film career going? BC-The truth is, nobody ever knows what will happen or when. I've been able to make a very good living for 25 years in a difficult business and that's good enough for me. 10.Last but not least, what is next for the great Bruce Campbell? BC-Burn Notice, season 2 - beginning 4/25 in Miami and hitting the USA airwaves in June. Stay groovy~Bruce
