The Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, knows all about my state of mind; so who else should I go to and speak to? ਕਹਣੈ ਕਥਨਿ ਨ ਭੀਜੈ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਾਈਐ ॥ Kahṇai kathan na bẖījai gobinḏ har bẖāvai paij rakẖā­ī­ai. Becoming kind and compassionate, God the Lord and Master Himself listens to my prayer. ਪੂਰਾ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਚੂਕੈ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਚਿੰਤੀ ॥ Pūrā saṯgur mėl milāvai sabẖ cẖūkai man kī cẖinṯī. Tah ham adhik tapassiaa saadhee|| Mahaakaal Kaalikaa araadhee||2|| There I was absorbed in deep meditation on the Primal Power, the Supreme KAL.2. Ih bidh(i) karat tapasiaa bhayo|| Dvai te ek roop hvai gayo|| In this way, my meditation reached its zenith and I became One with the Omnipotent Lord. He does not know any bitter words; the Perfect Lord God does not even consider my faults and demerits. ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਦਾਏ ਇਕੁ ਤਿਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਭੰਨੈ ਘਾਲੇ ॥ Paṯiṯ pāvan har biraḏ saḏā­ė ik ṯil nahī bẖannai gẖālė. Twenty-four hours a day, meditate on God. Remembering Him in meditation, a profound peace is obtained. Pain and suffering will not touch you at all. ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਰਿ ਚਾਕਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥ Saḏā saḏā kar cẖākrī parabẖ sāhib sacẖā so­ė. ||2|| Forever and ever, work for God; He is our True Lord and Master. ||2|| ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ ॥ Sāḏẖsangaṯ ho­ė nirmalā katī­ai jam kī fās. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall become absolutely pure, and the noose of death shall be cut away. ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ Sukẖ­ḏāṯa bẖai bẖanjno ṯis āgai kar arḏās. So offer your prayers to Him, the Giver of Peace, the Destroyer of fear. ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਿਹਰਵਾਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਆਵੈ ਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥ Mihar karė jis miharvān ṯāʼn kāraj āvai rās. ||3|| Showing His Mercy, the Merciful Master shall resolve your affairs. ||3|| ਬਹੁਤੋ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ਊਚੋ ਊਚਾ ਥਾਉ ॥ Bahuṯo bahuṯ vakẖāṇī­ai ūcẖo ūcẖā thā­o. The Lord is said to be the Greatest of the Great; His Kingdom is the Highest of the High. ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਉ ॥ varnā cẖihnā bāhrā kīmaṯ kahi na sakā­o. By trying to please other people, nothing is accomplished. ਸਾਚਿ ਲਗੈ ਤਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ Sācẖ lagai ṯā ha­umai jā­ī­ai. ||2|| When someone is attached to the True Lord, his ego is taken away. ||2|| ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਲਾਇ ਲਏ ਸੋ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ Jis no lā­ė la­ė so lāgai. He alone is attached, whom the Lord Himself attaches. ਗਿਆਨ ਰਤਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥ Gi­ān raṯan anṯar ṯis jāgai. The jewel of spiritual wisdom is awakened deep within. ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਾਇ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ Ḏurmaṯ jā­ė param paḏ pā­ė. Evil-mindedness is eradicated, and the supreme status is attained. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥੩॥ Gur parsādī nām ḏẖi­ā­ė. ||3|| By Guru's Grace, meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3|| ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਕਰਉ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥ Ḏu­ė kar joṛ kara­o arḏās. Pressing my palms together, I offer my prayer; ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਆਣਹਿ ਰਾਸਿ ॥ Ŧuḏẖ bẖāvai ṯā āṇeh rās. if it pleases You, Lord, please bless me and fulfill me. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਇ ॥ Kar kirpā apnī bẖagṯī lā­ė. Grant Your Mercy, Lord, and bless me with devotion. ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੪॥੨॥ Jan Nānak parabẖ saḏā ḏẖi­ā­ė. ||4||2|| Servant Nanak meditates on God forever. ||4||2||
