POSITION DESCRIPTION - SUMMARY

Provide technical research and analysis of memory, microprocessor-based and other electronic systems to support the Company’s intellectual property licensing and litigation activities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

▪ Present Research findings to Intellectual Property Licensing Team for review and discussion
▪ Collaborate with all relevant groups: Engineering, R&D and Legal Departments, to improve investigation and analysis techniques, and advance the state of the Company’s technical analyses in support of licensing and litigation activities
▪ Expand the Company’s knowledge base though identification, acquisition, and dissemination of new research materials
▪ Participate in IP licensing negotiations with external customers and interested parties and represent the Company as a “technical expert” in all aspects of technical analysis

REQUIREMENTS – EDUCATION

▪ Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering; Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

▪ 5-8+ plus years industry experience in memory circuit design (both embedded and stand alone) – SDRAM, DRAM, SRAM, Non-Volatile, buffers, cache
▪ In depth engineering and technical knowledge of semiconductor industry, including understanding the fundamental microprocessor designs, including clock/PLL circuitry, instruction fetch, decode, execution, as well as memory specific circuits – Address path, Data path, redundancy, command and control, etc.

SunLyne Corporation, a spinout from the Palo Alto Research Center, Inc. (PARC), is commercializing PARC technology that will address multiple renewable energy markets. SunLyne’s initial products use a proprietary automated fluid dispensing technology to improve the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells.

The successful candidate must have prior experience in mechanical design of electro-mechanical equipment, and must be proficient in using CAD (Solidworks preferred). Mechatronics experience is required for equipment interface sensing and control. Experience with automation and/or fluidics is a plus. The candidate must be capable of broad range of activities—i.e., design/fabricate prototypes, test equipment, and provide engineering support to other groups. The candidate will be working with a team of engineers and researchers on many aspects of product development, release, and pilot customer support. Some domestic and foreign travel may be required to work with key vendors and customers. The candidate must be capable of working independently, as well as part of informal teams.

Main Responsibilities:

• Mechanical design of automation subsystems and fluidic components for commercial release.
