Wed, 18 Jun 2008 17:07:32 +0200 Human fat-powered boat?! Sounds weird, strange, odd. I found these news just recently and thought may be someone else haven't heard of fat-powered boat.Peter Bethune, New Zealand adventurer, built a boat that is powered by human body fat. He is going to sail across the globe on the new super high speed fat-powered boat called Earthrace. Mon, 16 Jun 2008 23:35:00 +0200 Fuel on a boat can be different, but each boat uses some fuel or gas. Owners of the boats and those steering them need to know how to manage safely boat engines and fuel in them.Fires on boats are not as common as fires on land. However, if you are on a boat you will need to stay alert and take care as fires spread more quickly on water. Thu, 12 Jun 2008 23:05:00 +0200 Smoke alarm technology has developed significantly during the past several years with more features being available, such as optical sensors, long life batteries and the facility to ‘hush’ the alarm when, for example, cooking food. It's strongly recommended that boats with overnight accommodation are fitted with at least one smoke alarm. Boaters should use smoke alarms as part of their fire action plan to detect and ultimately escape from fire on the boat. Early detection of a fire while boating can help deal with a small fire before it gets out of control or give everyone aboard the chance to escape without being overcome by smoke or poisonous fumes, especially while sleeping and that's why unaware of the fire danger. Tue, 10 Jun 2008 10:11:00 +0200 Fire safety while boating is essential both when boat is moored and in open waters. Boat fires are less common than fires on land. But when they do occur, they can have destroying consequences. Boats are often far away from the land, so boat fire may result in frighting consecuences. Since it takes longer for fire-fighters to arrive at an incident, a fire can totally destroy a boat and everything on it for that time.Boat that is well maintained to minimum fire safety standards has higher degree of boating fire safety and fire is unlikely on it. But it is a great concern to boaters who can be caught unawares or in a situation where escape is difficult. Mon, 09 Jun 2008 16:30:18 +0200

Thu, 08 May 2008 17:01:14 +0200 A yacht is your house, a favourite toy, family, a symbol of your life attitude or at least presumptive source of income. Therefore it's necessary to chose it as careful as possible, like when purchasing a car. There are two essentially different variants. A charter yacht and a private one. A charter yacht is leased out, and, accordingly, the more active it is exploited, the better it is for an owner. I shall not explain whan it is fraught with, simply draw an analogy with purchase of used car. If you do not have experience of used yacht purchase, the analogy with the car can help you to avoid many mistakes. What should you pay attention at purchasing an ex-charter yacht? |
