Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree with 50% Marks in aggregate in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s Degree by June 2009 may also apply.

Intake: Present batch size is 120 (80% seats for Army wards and 20% seats for General category)

Selection: Applicant shall have to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs on November 16, 2008. Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at AIM Kolkata for final selection.

(AIMK uses CAT score for shortlisting the candidates for two-year full time Post-graduate Programme in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.)

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s or Post Graduate Degree or its equivalent in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.

This program has been exclusively designed to meet the emerging needs and includes topics that bridge the existing gap and facilitate easy transition to the required platform for success. Proposed Certificate Programme in Management with specialization in Marketing and Managing People is an endeavor to provide an opportunity to the working professionals to get an in-depth orientation and exposure of management through the faculty of repute.

Issues Addressed through the Programme

This programme seeks to address a set of issues as stated below


  • Address the emerging paradigms in the field of Management.

  • An emphasis on current concepts and applications.

  • A focus on those skills most needed by Marketing and HR people today: Analytical reasoning, effective communication and teamwork.

  • An integration of information management system applications within the curriculum.

  • A blend of topics addressing conventional Marketing and People Management with a focus on the requirements of modern businesses.


Programme Duration

This Certificate programme of CEP, IIT Bombay will be held during August 2008-May 2009, simultaneously, at Mumbai and New Delhi. Classes are proposed to be held on every alternate weekend (Saturdays and Sundays). Total number of program days will be around 37 days over 19 weekends in a year. Classes on Saturdays will be held from 2.00 PM to 8.30 PM and on Sundays from 9.00 AM to 4.30 PM with an hour lunch break.

Programme Fee

Total fees for the programme at New Delhi will be Rupees Ninety One thousand (Rs.91,000/-) only. Total fees for the programme at Mumbai will be Rupees Eighty Two thousand (Rs.82,000/-) only. Each participant is required to pay the total fee by a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of “THE REGISTRAR, IIT BOMBAY (CEP ACCOUNT)” and payable at Mumbai. The payment is to be made on or before August 19, 2008 for Delhi and August 28, 2008 for Mumbai.

Award of Certificate

For successful completion of the programme, all participants will have to appear for a comprehensive examination at the end of the programme. Each participant will be awarded a certificate by CEP, IIT Bombay on successful completion of the programme.

Important Instructions about the certificate programme

  • Medium of instruction will be English.

  • The programme is non-residential

  • The candidates are advised to go through the brochure carefully before applying the registration.

  • The last date for the receipt of the registration for along with total fee is August 19,2008 for Delhi and August 28, 2008 for Mumbai.

  • total fee is to be paid in advance. There is no provision for instalment.

  • The tuition fee once paid by a candidate cannot be transferred to another candidate except in the case of company-sponsored candidates.

Eligibility:

Graduation in any discipline (pass/ honours/vocational etc) from a recognized University. Those who have appeared for final examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply. No age bar. Reservation for SC, ST and Physically Handicapped candidates as per rules and University norms.

Notification For Eligibility to Ph.D. Registration

Application are invited from the Intending Candidates for eligibility for Ph.D registration under various faculties of the Sambalpur University for the session 2008-09 (1st Time)

Eligibility : Masters Degree holders in Arts, Science, Technology, Commerce, Management, Education, Law & Medical (Allopathy, Ayurvedic, Homeopathy, Pharmacy) Examinations of Sambalpur University or any other University recognised as equivalent thereto by the Sambalpur University with at least 2nd Class marks in relevant subject(s) are eligible for Ph.D. registration. Subjects in which the marks are not awarded equivalent grade point shall be taken as qualifying grade/marks.

A candidate can also be eligible for Ph.D registration in any subject/allied subject other than his/her subject at the Master’s level to be decided by the Research Degree Committee.

It is mandatory on the part of each candidate desirous to register to Ph.D. programme of Sambalpur University to go through this test process in order to make him/her elligible. Intending candidate shall apply in plain paper as per prescribed format mentioned below along with a bank draft Rs.1000/-(non-refundable) to be drawn in favour of Chairman, P.G. Council, Sambalpur University payble at SBI, Jyoti-Vihar, (code 6672) Burla. There shall be a written test of the candidates to prepare in eligibility list for registration of Ph.D.

The following shall be exempted from appearing at the Entrance Test.

a. Candidates having M.Phil or qualified in NET/GATE Eligibility Test.
b. Candidates having 5 years of continuous teaching (even if contractually appointed)/ Research/Professional experience.

The exempted candidates are also required to apply with requisite fees as mentioned above. Candidate desirous to do Ph.D in the interdisciplinary or subject other than his/her subject at Master’s level are also required to mentain the subject name in which they want to appear the written test.

The filled in application in the prescribed format along with the bank draft, two recent attested passport size pohotograph and other academic records showing the qualification of the candidates so as to be received by the undersigned on or before 10th Sept. 2008. Applications received after the due date shall be rejected.

(iv) A B.A/B.Sc Pass graduate in the 10+2+3 pattern having offered Mathematics as a combination/elective one ( of not less than 300 marks) at the degree stage securing at least 50% marks in it, or,
(v) A Pass Commerce graduate in the 10+2+2/10+1+3/11+3 pattern from any recognized Institution, who subsequently passed One-year Bridge Course in Mathematics securing at least 40% marks in it.

(C) The following Categories of candidates are eligible for admission to M.A. Part-I course :

(i) A minimum 2nd Class Honours graduate in the relevant subject having pursued the course in the 10+2+3 pattern from any recognized University, or,
(ii) An Unsuccessful Honours candidate of the above pattern (i) but who after having pursued the Honours course at both the Part-I & Part-II stages obtained Pass Degree Certificate of Three Year Course securing at least 35% marks in aggregate (in concerned Honours Subject), or,
(iii) A Pass graduate in the 10+2+3 pattern having offered the relevant subject as a combination/elective one (of not less than 300 marks) at the degree stage securing at least 40% marks in it, or,
(iv) B.Sc /B.Com/B.A Pass graduate who subsequently passed Special B.A. (of not less than 300 marks in the relevant subject) securing at least 40% marks in it,or,
(v) A Pass graduate in the 10+2+2/10+1+3/11+3 pattern from any recognized Institution who subsequently passed One-year Bridge Course in the relevant subject ( of not less than 300 marks at the degree stage) and thus became equivalent to the Pass graduate of 10+2+3 pattern securing at least 40% marks in it,or,
(vi) An M.A in a subject willing to do M.A. in any other subject offered through Distance Mode irrespective of whether or not that subject was offered by him/her at the degree stage, provided that no M.A. in any professional subject like Music, Drama, Film Studies, Physical Education (M.P.Ed), General Education(M.Ed) etc. is entitled to this special provision. Provided further that no M.A in ‘Islamic History and culture’ or ‘Ancient History and culture’ from any University is entitled to do M.A again in History from this University.

a) For MBA in Insurance & Risk Management: Any graduate of 10+2+3 pattern (Hons. or Pass) from any recognized University / any Engineering or Pharmacy graduate with minimum 60% marks / any graduate of 10+2+2 pattern who subsequently passed One-year Bridge Course from any recognized University / any graduate from any recognized University atleast three years supervisory / managerial / professional experiences in any company registered with the Registrar of Companies.
b) For M.A. / M.Sc. in Remote Sensing & GIS: Any B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Hons. in any subject including Agriculture / B.A. Hons. in Geography / Graduate (10+2+3) pattern with Geography combination with atleast 45% marks in Geography at degree level / one year PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS from any recognized University or any Institute recognized by the Govt. can get lateral entry to 2nd Semester. However he / she have to appear all 4 semester examinations.

Duration & Pattern of the Courses:

i) For Under Graduate Level: Three years (6 semesters)
ii) For Post Graduate Level: Two years (4 semesters)

Undergraduate Associateship in Physics and Biophysical Sciences

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for selection of Undergraduate Associates under the auspices of the Centre for Advanced Research and Education (CARE) of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata.

Eligibility:

Candidates from the first or second year Science undergraduate programme (B.Sc./Integrated M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Biological Sciences) in 2008 who have secured at least 80% marks in Science and Mathematics and at least 75% in aggregate in Class XII Board Examination are encouraged to apply. The final selection amongst the short listed candidates may involve an interview where the candidate needs to display resourcefulness, passion for scientific research as well as mastery of scientific concepts.

Selected Undergraduate Associates will be exposed to short term courses and laboratory training through short projects under the guidance of assigned mentors for a total period of about 60-90 days. During this period they will receive a stipend (@ Rs. 150/- day) along with a book grant of Rs. 6000/- per annum. A travel allowance will also be given for outstation Undergraduate Associates. The programme is for the undergraduate years. On successful completion of the programme, associates will be issued a certificate. A few of the Undergraduate Associates may be selected as Graduate Associates of SINP if they pursue Masters Programmes in Basic sciences. On successful completion of the M.Sc. course with First Class or equivalent grades they may be considered for absorption as Research Fellows of SINP with the usual fellowship.

The Centre for Physical Fitness and Sports Sciences offers one year full time Postgraduate Diploma in Health Fitness and Life Style Management from the academic year 2008-09 with an intake of 30 seats. Other details are as follows:

Minimum qualifications : Any second class graduate with at least an aggregate of 55% marks from any recognized university including M.B.B.S. graduates.

Preference will be given to those who have an academic back ground with life sciences, physical education, Fitness studies, and Sports Sciences. Experience and exposure to physical activities like Games, Sports and other allied activities, may also be considered. (A weightage of 5% marks will be provided to the graduates of Physical Education and allied fields).

Reservation of seats for SC, ST, and OBC candidates : In accordance with the policy of the Govt. of India and guidelines of the UGC, 15% of seats for SCs, 7 1/2% for STs, 27% of seats for OBCs are reserved with a provision of interchangeability among SCs/STs. The minimum eligibility requirement prescribed may be relaxed in the case of SC/ST candidates for filling all the seats meant for them.

Admission Procedure: The admissions will be granted to the suitable candidates based on their physical fitness and their performance in the entrance test. The selection procedure is divided into two parts. Part I: Minimum physical fitness test and Part II: Written test followed by an interview. Part I: Minimum Physical Fitness test:

This test is designed to identify the candidates minimum physical fitness levels and to know whether candidate is able to cope with the physical fitness routines of the course. There will be five tests. Candidate should meet the minimum requirement as mentioned against each test.

1. Plank Hover core muscle strength and stability test (men and women). 2 minutes for men and 1 min and fifteen seconds for women.
2. 100 meters run (men and women) 17Seconds for men and 21 seconds for women.
3. Flexed Knee sit ups (men and women) 10 for men and six for women.
4. Push ups(8 for men), Push ups(6 for women)
5. 3 kilometers run for men (21 minutes) and 2 km run for women (16 minutes).

The candidates those who are selected in the Minimum Physical Fitness test only be issued Hall tickets for written test.

Part II:
a) Written test 75 objective type questions. Each question carries one mark.

50 questions on the basic topics of Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Common D generative diseases like Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis, Obesity etc., and basic topics of General Sciences.

25 questions on General Knowledge, Logic and numerical ability.

b) Interview for 20 marks. Short listed candidates in the written test will appear for an interview.

c) Weightage of 5 marks for the graduates of Physical Education and allied subjects

Note: The applicants are required to note that before applying they must ensure that they are fully eligible to apply the course. There will not be any communication directing them to appear for the minimum physical fitness test. All the applicants are required to attend for the minimum physical fitness test at Sports Complex, University Campus, Gachi Bowli, Hyderabad on 20th or 21st August, 2008 at their own cost. The candidates those who are found physically fit will only be allowed for written test to be held on 22nd August, 2008.

The Physical Fitness test and the entrance examination will be held at University Campus, Gachi Bowli, Hyderabad. The candidates will attend to these tests at their own cost. Since, the physical fitness test and the entrance test are conducted continuously in a span of 3 to 5 days time, candidates are required to make their own arrangements for their stay at Hyderabad and the University will not provide any accommodation or take any responsibility in making arrangements for their stay.

Army Institute of Management, Kolkata (AIMK) was established in July 1997 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi. Business India has ranked AIMK as ‘A’ Category B-School in India in 2007.

Eligibility: Bachelor’s Degree with 50% Marks in aggregate in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates completing all requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s Degree by June 2009 may also apply.

Intake: Present batch size is 120 (80% seats for Army wards and 20% seats for General category)

Selection: Applicant shall have to appear in Common Admission Test (CAT) to be conducted by IIMs on November 16, 2008. Candidates short-listed on the basis of CAT score will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview at AIM Kolkata for final selection.

(AIMK uses CAT score for shortlisting the candidates for two-year full time Post-graduate Programme in Management. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.)
