New program to bring higher blends of ethanol to Kansas

Colwich, Kan. (Aug. 18, 2008) - Today Kansas will become the second state to lead the nation in raising public awareness for higher blends of ethanol as the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC), Kansas Corn Commission and ICM, Inc. collaborate to launch a blender pump incentive program across the state of Kansas.

Garden City motorists receive a break at the pump with alternative blends of ethanol

As gas prices stay near record levels, Kansas motorists can take advantage of bargain prices while pumping up the local economy at a pump promotion at the U Pump It Country Corner in Garden City, Kan. on Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Omaha, Neb. (August 7, 2008) –On August 7, 2008 the Environmental Protection Agency denied Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s request to reduce America’s use of renewable fuels like ethanol; Gov. Perry requested a waiver to cut the current ethanol mandate that was enacted as part of the Renewable Fuel Standard. The decision ensures that consumers will continue to benefit from an expanding supply of domestically produced renewable fuel, which is helping to lower gas prices.

Brookings, S.D., July 22, 2008 –VeraSun Energy Corp. (NYSE: VSE), one of the nation’s largest ethanol producers, today announced the startup of its 110 million gallon per year ethanol biorefinery located near Hankinson, N.D. The Hankinson production facility marks the 12th VeraSun biorefinery in operation, increasing the company’s annual operating capacity to 1.2 billion gallons.
