“In the welter of arguments about who or what was Pink Floyd, Rick’s enormous input was frequently forgotten, but his soulful voice and playing were vital, magical components.” ~ David Gilmour Monuments in Ruin Episode #20 09.21.08 In Memory of Richard Wright 1943-2008 Richard Wright - Againts The Adds Zee - Voices Pink Floyd - Echoes (Live at Pompeii Intro) Richard Wright - Black Cloud Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother Suite Pink Floyd - The Great Gig In The Sky *** A Moment of Silence and Remembrance *** Pink Floyd - The Violent Sequence (Take One) It is a major loss to the hearts of the people who have fell in love with the sounds this man is connected to. No words can express the major influence his work has been to me and many others over our lifetime. With this loss, we can only be grateful of the astounding music legacy that was recorded over the years past. We have it to reflect back on and enjoy for years more in the future. Take care of those you love. Bobby

According to the Bradley County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the 911 call reporting a wreck in the 2100 block at 2:40 p.m. Preliminary investigation by the traffic unit shows the vehicle traveling south on Eureka Road and crossing into the opposite lane when it rounded a small curve. The vehicle then left the roadway, according to the report, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. Terry Earnest, 53, of Charleston, had died when Emergency Medical Service arrived at the scene. The Bradley County Volunteer Fire and Rescue also responded. "Hey man can i request a mid-90's, what we were listening to theme? This would penetrate my heart and also i want to see what sticks out in your memories." ~ Ben Goss Monuments in Ruin Episode #14 08.10.08 A-K Alabama Thunderpussy - Fever 103 Brutal Truth - Ordinary Madness Corrosion Of Conformity - Redemption City Dead & Gone - Blackout Exit-13 - When I Get Low, I Get High Fugazi - Public Witness Program Grief - Earthworm His Hero Is Gone - Scare Tactic Integrity - Millenial Reign Judas Priest - Painkiller Kyuss - 50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up) You got it brother! I combined your request with an ABC's theme i was gonna do. You were either with me when i bought most of these albums or with me while i jammed them over the years. Some earlier, some later. Most of the goods were on cassette and vinyl for me back then though. However, I did collect a few cd's though. How could i turn down a request down memory lane? Truth is i couldn't. It was great to picture what was going on when these tunes played for us in the 90's. Fuck. It's been over 15 years for some or most of these tunes yet, it seems like only yesterday i heard them for the first time. This show is a tribute to brotherhood, friends new and old, and family of all types, in our life and through all of the years of music. It introduces us and keeps us together. I hope everyone has learned to take care of those you love. We are all we have. I'll try to finish up the ABC's next week but don't hold me to it. Get on the forum at www.tarblackvomit.com and tell me where you were and what was happening for you in music during the mid-90's. Until next time, Enjoy. "A phonograph in the hands of a 'hiphop/scratch' artist who plays a record like an electronic washboard with a phonographic needle as a plectrum, produces sounds which are unique and not reproduced -- the record player becomes a musical instrument." ~ John Oswald Monuments in Ruin Episode #12 07.27.08 Herbie Hancock - Rockit X-Ecutioners - A Journey into Sound (feat. Kenny Muhamed (The Human Orchestra) DJ Bombjack - The Lesson DJ Shadow & Automator - Fists of Curry DJ Q-Bert - Redworm A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Mauraders Tour Guide Dälek - Distorted Prose Hurricane - What's Really Going On Beastie Boys - Get It Together DJ Krush - Anticipation Regal - Keep On Although i can't stand the thought of destroying a vinyl LP, I have to give my respect where it is due to the task of being a turntablist. I like the thought of someone diggin' through hundreds of records to find that perfect groove. Not only do you have to find it, one has to learn how to apply it. But hey, what do i know? So be it. Dig it or not? Let me know on the forum at www.tarblackvomit.com Until next week, keep your records funky and your stylus clean. "By now all rock bands are wise enough to be suspicious of music industry scum." ~ Steve Albini Monuments in Ruin Episode #11 07.20.08 Oroku - Spineless Doom - Agree To Differ Ekkaia - Mientras Dormimos Protestant - She Says I Don't Have The Stomach Fall of Efrafa - Last But Not Least Northless - Wasteoid Logical Nonsense - Razed Iskra - Threat Inflation Hope everyone is doing fine out there. I need to see you all on the forum. It's been a long two weeks for me and i want to hear from you about yours. 116 hours on the clock in two weeks and i am beat down. That's hard on a brother like me. Outside of that, i want to thank Cory from Halo of Flies Records, who is also a stand up character in Protestant, for being such a kind soul and sending me a package of great tunes this week. I am thankful to him because they helped me make it through. Check him out and buy stuff from him. You will not regret it. He is housing some damn fine music on his label and a few are featured on this show. Heavy work weeks call for crust in the tunes. Hope you all enjoy it. I have been jammin' these bands all week without fail. Slam a cup of coffee, run out the door, crank up the car and turn up the tunes. That about covers my two weeks. Hope you all enjoy the show. It's 6pm on saturday and i had to kind of slap this one together. Essentially, i just took all the discs laying in my passenger seat and used them for this show. I think you get the idea. Take care, bear with me, see you on the forum. Until next week...
