How Feasible is the World Wide Mind?

That is the same question researches at PBS asked top scientist in the fields of biology, engineering, and cognitive science. In fact they launched an entire episode on discussing the possibility of hooking up your brain/mind to the internet; very similar to the way computers are today. Eminent scientists and engineers considered if thousands or millions of electrodes "threaded" into the brain could record, analyze, and transmit brain activity.

If you read the article you will see that scientist have already manipulated body motions by wiring into ones brain. So the possibility that the Word Wide Mind (WWM) is possible is real. There are skeptics and that is what makes this internet business idea so great. WorldWideMind.com could eventually be the central hub for all information dealing with the WWM project; but it should start out as a simple forum.

I won' try to pretend to be qualified to understand or even have a opinion on the possibility of connecting my brain to an "internet." I do know the American population will have an opinion. Building a website that allows interested readers to interact, chat, and discuss topics dealing with the WWM Project could cause quite the stir online....leading into other businesses.

What challenges would have to be solved to make such a thing possible?

Here are the challenges I found. You will want to find similar topics and create forum categories so users / scientists can discuss them.

  • Physical insertion of the electrodes
  • Managing enormous amounts of data in real time
  • Cracking the neural code of mental activity
  • Translating the output of one brain into equivalent input for another brain
  • Developing modes of communication with the technology that are superior, or at any rate usefully different, to the ones we have now.

HattiesCereal.com - Internet Business Idea

In order to understand this idea you need to believe Chris Anderson's theory on how the Digital World (i.e. internet business) is evolving into a FREE Economy. To view his published article / video by Wired Magazine click the link below:

After you read that article you will understand why HattiesCereal.com Hedge Hog theory (main business model) is giving away free cereal. Yes, users will come to HattiesCereal.com and it will look like a normal eCommerce store but they will be surprised to see that ALL the cereal is FREE!

Is The Cereal Market Big Enough?

  • Of the more than 294 million people in the U.S, 49% start their day with a bowl of cereal.
  • The average American eats 160 bowls of cereal each year.
  • There are 2.7 billion packages of cereal sold every year – that’s enough boxes to wrap around the Earth thirteen times.

Do you think Kellogg's, Post, General Mills, and the 100's of Organic Cereal Manufacturers that are popping up would like to reach that market? Do you think a manufacturer would pay $1.00 to acquire a new customer? Do you think you could build & market a website that just gave away free cereal samples and charged manufacturers $1.00 per sample sent out? Do you think a website that gave away free cereal could give away 1,000,000 boxes to the 150 million people that eat cereal each day?...WebBizIdeas.com can build a HattiesCereal.com and help you market it so those gaols are reached.

TheSecret.Tv - Online Community Idea

WebBizIdeas.com worked with Adam Davis to put together an Online Community proposal for Jack; one of the creators of The Secret. The popular DVD and Coaching of "The Secret" or "The Law of Attraction" has brought literally millions of visitors to TheSecret.TV each month....but do they capitalize on all of it?

This movement has such a "cult following" that an online community that would allow users to interact, share stories, and ask questions would increase their website activity tremendously. Currently the site received 5-10 page views per visitor but that could increase to 50-100 if the have social networking features through out the site.

Jack and TheSecret.tv decided not to move forward with the project we proposed so we decided to share it with you, get your opinion, and hopefully help you learn how you can increase a web site's activity by adding the correct social networking software features.

What is Bob's Video Barn?

BOBSVIDEOBARN.COM will be marketplace & online community for people interested in playing & selling back yard games.

This last weekend my friend and I spent a couple hours at Ace Hardware cutting PCU for creating a game we used to play in college, Monkey Balls. In order to create the game you need 8 golf balls and 15+ feet of PCU. You drill holes in the golf balls and ties string through them and then assemble the PCU into a three column structure.

The goal of the game is to throw the golf balls you tied together around the PCU columns; points awarded depending on the row you wrap it around. It is a very simple game that keeps us amused for hours:

But it got us talking about all the other back yard games we could play, build, buy and sell:
  • Washers
  • Volleyball Nets
  • Volleyball Nets in Pool
  • Bad Mitten
  • Beer Pong
  • Water Beer Pong
  • Tippy Cup
  • Bocce Ball
  • Lawn Darts
  • Croquet Set
  • baseball bases
  • Portable Scoreboard
  • outdoor chess sets
  • lawn bowling
  • horse shoes
  • Bean Bags
  • Flag Football Sets
  • Giant Chess
  • Giant Pick Up sticks
  • Giant Soccer Balls
  • Hopping Mads
  • Inflatable Soccer Goals
  • Jump Rope
  • Limbo Sets
  • Monkey Balls
  • Pogo Sticks
  • Potato Sacks
  • Stilts
  • Tug-a-War Rope

We thought it would be very interesting to find out what other “back yard games” people play, their rules, and even find people locally that want to play. We wanted the domain name BackYardGames.com but it was taken. So instead we decided to go with BobsVideoBarn.com…explained later.
