I watched that and a few other related videos, and now know to fear the Gabba. Senator's Lawsuit Against God Is Tossed Out
A Douglas County District Court judge has tossed out Nebraska State Sen. Ernie Chambers' lawsuit against God. Judge Marlon Polk says Chambers can't sue God if he can't serve papers on him. The court had warned Chambers in the past that his lawsuit may be dismissed because he had failed to serve notice on God. Chambers had responded by arguing the Almighty shouldn't need notice because God already knows everything. http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1202425278203 The Twilight of the Vampire King: Jonathon "The Impaler" Sharkey
If you are a vampire and you recently felt a shuddering in the vampire continuum, a kind of vamp-quake, that was the sound of Jonathon Sharkey getting his ass thrown in jail. Sharkey, aka Jonathon the Impaler, was arrested and charged with threatening the president. If the charges are valid, it won't be a big surprise, because Sharkey once called George W. Bush "King George 'Worthless Bitch' Bush" -- among other things -- on video. On the same video he was holding an automatic rifle and he seemed to indicate that one of his other options for targets to shoot with said rifle was the Pope. Go figure. Sharkey has lived in Minnesota and Indiana. He was living in Grundy County, TN when he was arrested in connection with felony warrants from those states. In addition to the president, Sharkey allegedly threatened a judge in Indiana. It's tempting to spend some time telling you more about Jonathon Sharkey. He is nothing if not interesting. But it might be better to just give you some links and let you judge for yourself. I've already linked his music MySpace -- this is one of his personal profiles. Sharkey's "About me" from that page: MY NAME IS JONATHON "THE IMPALER" SHARKEY AND I AM THE KING OF THE VAMPYRES............. MANY OF YOU MIGHT HAVE SEEN ME ON THE NEWS OR HEARD ME ON THE RADIO. I AM ASKING FOR EVERYONE TO PLEASE FORGET ABOUT MY RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. YES I AM A SATANIC VAMPYRE, AND A HECATE WITCH.......IT'S VERY SIMPLE, CHILD MOLESTORS, RAPISTS, KILLERS, DEALERS AND ISTS IMPALED, INSTEAD OF GETTING OFF EASY LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN, I WILL IMPALE THEM! Awesome. http://www.truecrimereport.com/2008/10/the_twilight_of_the_vampire_ki.php Real-Life Vampires: Who Are They?
Around the World, Subcultures Coalesce Around the Vampire Image By KI MAE HEUSSNER ABC News - Technology & Science Oct. 31, 2008 With their cloaks aflutter and their fangs flickering in the moonlight, thousands of vampires will take to the streets tonight. Shade is being initiated into House Lost Haven, a close-knit, semi-formal organization for vampires and other individuals who believe their souls are connected to non-human creatures. She is exploring the vampire identity, her boyfriend, Anshar Seraphim, told ABCNews.com. Seraphim identifies with the vampire community and is also a member of House Lost Haven. Along with masquerading witches and warlocks, they'll knock on doors, nosh away at bite-size candy bars or guzzle a beer or two at a friend's party. But Anshar Seraphim, 28, doesn't have any special Halloween plans and has no intention of throwing on a plastic Dracula suit. Maybe it's because dressing like a vampire one day a year isn't anything special when it's who you believe you are for all 365 of them. "My personal belief: Vampirism is an inexplicable part of science that we don't understand yet," Seraphim said. "I don't know if the things that cause it to exist are chemical. When we associate ourselves with the word 'vampire,' we're describing the relationship that we have with the people around us." As fictional or mythological characters -- from Bram Stoker's count "Dracula" to Anne Rice's Louis to HBO's new cast of bewitching "True Blood" suckers -- society accepts and sometimes celebrates the vampire. But for many people, such as Seraphim, vampirism isn't just a literary genre. It's an identity and a lifestyle. Yes, blood-drinking and all. And though it may sound incredulous, some experts say that there's a little bit of a vampire in all of us. http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/Story?id=6154446&page=1 Number of pagan prisoners has doubled over four years
Richard Ford, Home Correspondent Paganism is on the rise in jails in England and Wales with the number of practising prisoners more than doubling in the past four years. Paganism was recognised by the Prison Service as a religion more than eight years ago but since 2003 the numbers have risen steadily from 133 to 328 in 2007, according to figures published yesterday. In Albany jail on the Isle of Wight, the number of pagan prisoners increased from 12 to 34 in eight months, making paganism the fifth most-practised religion in the Category B jail. As today is Hallowe'en, pagan prisoners can opt not to work or attend education inmates are allowed to select two dates from a list of annual festivals when they are excused from work as the day is one of the religion's key festivals. In paganism Hallowe'en is known as Samhain the Celtic new year and the Prison Service has issued advice that though it is often celebrated with cider to mark the apple harvest, in jails this cannot be allowed. Instead, prison governors have been told that an apple on the altar can be a substitute for cider. Inmates practising paganism are allowed among their personal possessions a hoodless robe, a flexible twig for a wand, incense and a piece of jewellery. The Prison Service has made clear that the hoodless robe can be used only during private worship in an inmate's cell or when a number of pagans in one prison gather together to worship. Pagan prisoners are also allowed to have tarot cards but staff have barred them from using them to tell the fortunes of other prisoners. Nor is skyclad naked pagan worship - allowed under the Prison Service rules. The guidance to governors also says that pagans can use wine as part of their worship. "Where wine is used, it must be ordered through the prison chaplaincy department (not brought in by the pagan chaplain), stored securely and only be used under the pagan chaplain's supervision. Individual consumption will be one sip only," the guidance states. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article5051479.ece |
