Can't we all just love one another and get along? I mean somebody please think of the children. Surely, lovey dovey-that's the way everybody is in church. All our families live that way. All our marriages are happily ever after. Well in case you live in the real world like I do, why don't we get together this Sunday and look at the end of Romans 12

Here's a question for ya, If I have become a Christian, could I one day become a non-Christian again? Can I lose my place in God's family? What kind of sins might get me 'kicked out of the house' so to speak? Some people say you could never get kicked out of the house. Is that true?"

Zeal, passion and conviction of your beliefs are great - so long as there are facts thrown in as well.

If God knew some people were going tyo reject Him and become evil,why did he create them? If God knew some people were going to reject Him and go to hell, isnt he cruel for creating those people in the first place?

I'll bet you can't guess who said this, But you don't understand. This struggle with sin is really bad. I have tried to quit and I just can't. It is like this demon inside of me. I pray and ask God to take it away and He doesn't. What am I suppose to do? I feel like a wretch, a total loser.

Our sins are forgiven, that's amazing. So I am developing a new self image-dead to sin, unresponsive to sin's temptation. But temptation is so strong. I feel powerless, helpless, addicted. Just changing the way I think, is that going to be enough?

Last week we talked about unstoppable joy. This week we are talking about how to get better.

We hear people say all the time: I deserve to be happy! I just want my kids to be happy! Happy, happy, happy....so how do I get happy? This week we will discover three principles for achieving unstoppable joy from Romans 5.

This Sunday,Hey did you hear about, I cannot believe. Well I guess I should have seen it coming. It is a shame. It is too bad really. Why cant people just get it straight like, well you know I am not perfect, but really? How could they? O well. I guess we better pray from them.Ever hear people talk like that? Maybe that person in the mirror; maybe there is a better way?

God's Anger and Clear Thinking, Perhaps the greatest need for us these days is to learn how to think clearly, correctly, biblically. How/what we think directs most of our lives. Romans 1 says that the worse thing that can happen to us is that God let's us think crazy/deadly thoughts. Let's talk about our heads getting straight this Sunday.

Bobby McFerrin told us not to worry and to be happy. But he didn't really tell us how to pull that off. I don't know how he does it but I know for some people it involves something to do with twisting up and having a smoke. I have never had the "priviledge" myself but I hear it does cause you to chill. But it only lasts for awhile. On the other hand God tells us how and why and when and where and what and who and all the rest of how we can live in peace and joy and not give ourselves to worry. Hopefully you and Bobby will hear this great teaching from our Abba Father and join us in perma-peace and Joy! (verses perma-stoned-ya know what I mean?)

God's Kingdom Economy is one of 'Giving and Receiving'. We were taught that the world of economics is buy low and sell high / earning and spending. One philosophy is about us the other is all about God. Let's look at Gods desire to 'GIVE' you this day your daily bread, butter, milk, honey, clothing, shelter, transportation, recreation, and enough left over to take care of those in need.

Wouldn't it be nice to not be so insecure, fearful and threatened? "What if they don't like me? What if illness attacks? What if I loose my job?" Similar 'what if's' rob us of great joy and peace. The common solution is to look out for #1 and safe guard all you have. Jesus demonstrates another and much more effective approach to security and greatness. I understand that The A.A. Big Book says that all of us are egomaniacs. I think they are onto to something. Greatness is something all of us fantasize about from being superman or batman or a NHL hockey player or a star is a girl band. We don't out grow that very quickly, if at all. Lent (not lint- that's what's in your belly button) is a season of fasting beginning 40 days of Easter.So we missed the start of lent. It's probably just as well. 40 days of fasting might just kill off the enitre family of New Hope Church. But it's not too late to prepare ourselves for Easter.I would like to propose a fast, from now till chocolate bunny time. But it's not a fast from food (can I have a witness here?) nor from television or any of that easy stuff. No I propose that between now and Easter we try to fast from...(Well I can't tell you now you'll have to join us this Sunday and find out)

Everywhere I go I hear people weighed down with overwhelming pressure. It is crippling. What's a mere mortal to do?

It's a great question. It comes in many forms, Why didnt mommy stop daddy from doing that to us? Why did my son have to die, my wife, my dad? Why didnt God do something? If he is all powerful he could have stopped it. If he is good he wouldnt want terrible things like that to happen? So, either he isnt all powerful or he isnt all good or both. I dont think I can ever forgive God for letting that happen.

If there is a heaven and if we live forever how can you grow as a person without any hardship? Why a new heaven and new earth? I understand the reason for a new earth - but why the heck would there need to be a new heaven? Something wrong with the existing one? Is it a bit of a fixer-upper? Cant I live in it up in this world and enjoy its fruits on earth and then at the last minute repent and go to heaven and not hell?

Arent Christians supposed to be tolerant? What about other religions? People are not supposed to impose their morals on others are they? These small questions and their implications for your Monday morning coming up on this weeks edition of New Hope Church Niagara.

Now that I have slowly started reading the bible things get introduced to me that conflict with my personal experience with God. Can you honestly just believe in everything in the Bible? Love your neighbor, OK kill someone who works on the Sabbath, NO. Can there be gray in statements in the Bible? Grays is the only answer and black and white in my eyes can only lead to hate and extremism.

Last week we looked at the A.B.C.D.E's of how our minds and emotions interact from Philipians 4. This week we look at how Jesus practiced using clear sound biblical thinking to deal with temptation and battle satan's lies.

To wage spiritual warfare we need to take back control of our emotions and our minds. The mind is the battle field. How do I that? How to I master my thoughts? How do I master my emotions? The key is the Bible.

In our series on Spiritual Warfare our talk is entitled, Beware of trouble makers. There are people who like to stir up trouble and then there are those who bring peace. Jesus said, Blessed are the peacemakers. What do you do with trouble makers? How do you respond to them? And more importantly, which one of those two am I?

As soon as the casualties start to fall our resolve to win the battle weakens and we are tempted to retreat from the conflict. That's when we become the most vulnerable. So what is a frightened and tired soldier supposed to do? Let's learn about God's way to win the battle this Sunday.

How about Garth Brooks? Should a Christine attend R-rated movies? How about PG movies with bad language? The list is never-ending. The problem with this is that we are asking all the wrong questions!
