Geraldo Rivera was so inspired by this argument with Bill O'Reilly that he wrote a book entitled "His Panic". Obviously a play on words referring to illegal Hispanic immigrants in America and the fear (or "Panic") of the growing Hispanic population. The immigration argument has become somewhat cliche on the campaign trail. However, my personal feelings on the topic are mixed. While I do believe that it is imperative that the U.S. document the entry of immigrants into this country for, among many other reasons, safety purposes, we cannot let one terribly unfortunate situation become an excuse to incriminate an entire group of people. I have always found it a point of irony that we live in a "free" world with manmade boundaries. It's about time to start holding hands across these borders and support cultural, political, and economic unity. How can we let an imaginary dotted line traced out by centuries of wars and obsolete treaties dictate how a fellow human being should be treated? My brother came into town and we went to go see Paul Mooney at Carolines! Paul has toned down from the days of whitening his teeth by saying the word "Nigger" but that was just one word, he is still on his game, profound, racy and damn funny. "I always drop in some history." says Mooney. "It's knowledge. There's always a message in my comedy and you may not get it that night â it's like time bombs. It'll get you a week later. You'll understand." The other comedians were funny as well. Hostess Robin Montague was a funny ear full and new comer Maronzio Vance's comedic timing was uncanny. All in all it was a real treat. Paul, Robin, Maronzio, and Carolines thanks for the laughs.

Spiderman 3 comes out on May 4, 2007. A big budget movie with a whopping 250 million dollar budget. Unlike Water World, another movie with a massive budget, this will not be it's downfall.   In my opinion, the downfall of the Spiderman and the whole series is Mary Jane. That's right, Mary Jane!  It's candy, it's a drug.  In the comic book she was a hot model. But now she's just a "Plain Jane".

When Spiderman first came out I was shocked when my brother told me Mary Jane would be played by Kirsten Dunst. I said "What, Kirsten Dunst? She's not Mary Jane. She's got a big bulbous head! Not even close! Mary Jane's a model". Now, I'm not saying she's not a good actress or that she's that ugly. She just is not what I picture as Mary Jane Waston-Parker. Who would you pick?
