I have been on vacation (without my computer..arghh) for the past week, and while away, I committed myself to drinking 8 glasses of water a day. It was actually easier than I thought. As long as you keep a full bottle or glass next to you at all times, you drink it and don't even realize it.
I must say, my skin texture has turned from rough and dry to silky smooth! Water is a natural moisturizer - from the inside out. I also started a new skin care regimine at the same time. So that may be a contributing factor as well. I purchased a whole skin care system (cleanser, toner, exfoliator, etc.) and I love it! I feel years younger! It wasn't really until I hit 30 that I cared how my skin looked. Now I am becoming a guru! amy If your teeth are looking a little yellow,
brighten them up by using: 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2-3 drops of hydrogen peroxide make a paste and brush onto teeth and gums twice a week. _____ a,y If most people would drink the recommended intake of water (8-10 glasses) a day. Their health problems could be cured.
When we don't drink enough water our bodies work extra hard to function. This can cause bad breath, body odor, and yellow, strong smelling urine. It is almost like trying to wash your car with only a small pitcher of water. Water flushes out our sytem. Water cleans us on the inside washing away impurites, making us feel happy and energetic. Drink up! Water is free and has no calories! Tea Tree Oil is widely produced in Australia and is used to cure a number of skin problems.
It is a natural alternative to harsh treatments. It is great on cuts, scrapes, warts, dandruff, acne. You can find it online or in health food stores. amy It turns out that the frothy white beverage we call milk could be causing us to break out. Acne is caused by hormones, and cows milk is rich in hormones especially progesterone which can convert to DHT in our bodies. DHT is known to activate oil glands - causing "break outs"! Bye bye pizza, milk shakes, cereal, butter, cheesecake...sniff sniff.
(this is solely based on my research ~ I am not a doctor) It is 104 degrees in Tri-Cities, WA today! Whew!
To beat the heat I have brewed up a tasty jug of sweet sun tea. I just added water and 4 bags of Lipton tea to a large jar and added some Splenda. Good, healthy and calorie free! Getting plenty of zzzz's at bedtime is wonderful for your body and skin. Sleep deprivation is horrible for your skin and can make your eyes have more baggage than taking a month long trip to Hawaii. (Okay no more dumb jokes)
Bottom line, to reduce the tired looking bags under your eyes, rest up! I just ate a huge bowl of chili, 2 corn muffins and a Kit Kat bar for dinner.
So much for healthy eating - No will power :) I will start my pure and healthy living again tomorrow...I might as well enjoy tonight, I think I'll have some ice cream. Did you know that our bodies are oxidizing: you know how when apples are exposed to air they start to turn brown, that is oxidation. In a sense, over time, our bodies do the same thing.
Antioxidants, help to reverse this process - both on the inside and out. Antioxidants are found in tea, coffee, artichokes, beans, blueberries, blackberries, potatoes, nuts, many spices such as cinnamon. They are great for you and can help to reverse the signs of aging. Eat your fruits and veggies! ---------------------- (these are statements based on my research - I am not a doctor) :) I am guilty of eating Dead Food - otherwise known as food that isn't fresh and can be stored for weeks without going bad (crackers, cookies, cereals, etc.)
I am going to attempt to each better by buying healthy fresh foods - fruits, veggies, nuts, berries, whole grain foods. And drinking lots of water. What we eat reflects how we look on the outside, more importantly, how our skin looks. My Dr. says he can tell if someone doesn't get enough water in their diet just by looking at their skin. Eat natural foods - easier said than done huh! amy Below are my findings on mineral oil:
Mineral oil is said to clog pores and not allow your skin to breath. It cannot be absorbed by our skin. It is used in many beauty products because it is cost efficient and easy to obtain. It is made with the same thing as the oil we put into our cars. ---- I looked it up on wikipedia and found this: Mineral oil or liquid petrolatum is a by-product in the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline. It is a chemically inert, transparent, colorless oil composed mainly of alkanes and cyclic paraffins, related to white petrolatum. Mineral oil is a substance of relatively low value, and it is produced in very large quantities. Mineral oil is available in light and heavy grades, and can often be found in drug stores. I went upstairs to my bathroom and looked at my lotions and skincare products I have in my cupboard - There were quite a few with mineral oil. No more baby oil for my kids! Did you know...
This is all news to me. I have recently decided to make it my mission to improve my skin texture (now that I am in my 30's.) Wrinkles and large pores have been moving in on my face and I don't really remember inviting them! Harsh astringents and exfoliators have taken their toll of my poor face and I am now resorting to a natural skincare approach. As I research, I will post it here for others to benefit from as well. Have any advice?? Let me know. I found a great anti-aging product that has really made a difference |
