Shares of Office Depot Inc. lose nearly a third of their value after the office supplies retailer warns tough economic times will push second-quarter earnings below its earlier forecast.

Electronic Arts Inc. on Tuesday set a deadline of sorts for its proposed acquisition of Take-Two Interactive Software, which has to date resisted the $2 billion offer on the belief that it undervalues the publisher of the mega-popular “Grand Theft Auto” video game franchise.
