According to an article in Variety, Pan’s Labyrinth and Hellboy director, Guillermo Del Toro, has a large number of projects lined up with Universal Studios which will keep him occupied until the year 2017. Del Toro’s main focus is currently on the Lord of the Rings prequel, The Hobbit, which is set for release in 2012.
