(Ref: SSC508) The Adult Social Care sector is on the verge of a remarkable change. On the back of the recent Putting People First concordat and Transforming Social Care guidance, it is clear that personalisation will be the cornerstone of how we relate to our communities â helping people, however diverse their needs, exercise choice and control over the support they receive. To achieve this, a collaborative approach is essential, with service users, carers, council employees and other partners fully engaged in the process.
In the Royal Borough we are taking this opportunity very seriously and to enable us to respond to the challenges of this agenda we have created a time-limited new post for three years to lead the change programme and develop our approach to personalisation.
We are looking for someone with a strong track record of effecting change and managing challenging programmes in a social care setting. You will have the experience of forging partnerships and getting results within complex working environments, with excellent communication and well developed project management skills and the determination to seize the opportunities that this agenda provides.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Allan Brown, Head of Adult Services on 01628 683701 or Ed Thompson, Joint Commissioning Manager on 07824 475033.
This post is subject to an Enhanced CRB.

We currently have a good career opportunity within the newly restructured Materials Team within the Surrey Highways Asset Planning Group.
As well as providing a materials advice and testing service to Surrey Highways, the Materials Team has an extensive external client base that brings in a large volume of work from around the country and occasionally overseas. Therefore you will be exposed to a more interesting and varied workload than at a similar organisation.
You will possess good computer skills, as this forms a major part of this role. In addition, a knowledge of materials testing and statistical reporting using Excel / Access would be advantageous.
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for inputting test data to a high level of accuracy, and produce output in the form of spreadsheets, reports and test certification.
Some materials testing opportunities will exist during busy periods and training will be provided.
In addition to good computing skills, and an eye for detail, you should have good standard of secondary education - to GCSE level or higher.
