I can see why people hire lawyers for the littlest insurance claim. I've never experience so much run around since dealing with MY insurance company and the other person insurance company. Everything started off smoothe but my oh my did I have rollercoaster ride the last few days of dealing with this. I posted earlier that I was involved in a car accident w/ my children. Anyways thanks to people who responded. I had my rental, my car was in shop being repaired, my children visited the dr's got a bill of good health, THEN it begin, Other insurance co--yes we've accepted fault, MY insurance co--Yes, your car is ready and your deductible is $500 because the other insurance co haven't accepted liability. OTHER- Yes, we've accepted fault, have them fax us over a direction to pay MY Insurance-- what's a direction to pay. Other person insurance co--I'll call them. Me calling my insurance company--just checking to see to what time to pick up my car. My insurance co-- 5:45 it'll be ready, just bring cc, check, or money for your deductible. Me: HUH? Didn't they call you and work this out? My insurance co-- oh I can see they accepted fault but it's not download to the computer. I'll note it in the computer This was Friday 24hr before turning in the rental. And I didn't have $500!! So anyway it gets cleared up on Monday. Boy, was I pissed though, because had I not called each insurance company to verify, I wouldn't have known that I would have to 1) pay a deductible I thought had been waivered, or 2) rack fee on a rental courtsey of my own pockets or 3) hitched a ride and returned home without any car on Monday!! Anyway Monday, I go to pick up my car and another client, had just been hit with the curve ball I dodged just barely on Friday. MY insurance co to the young lady---andquot;no, the other insurance company haven't accepted liability yet.andquot; Young lady--well they said they did... Me thinking to myself---did you computer download it yet? I mean, seriously shouldn't the agents be a little more courteous to their own clients? A phone call that say andquot;Hey, your deductible haven't been waivered yet, maybe give the other insurance co, because it's clearly not your fault or call or hey let me check the other system... Funny thing is though, I was given the website to view my claim online, yet each boxed showed andquot;Completedandquot; Accident report --completed, Determination of Fault--completed etc. Why not add another box, that says-- deductible waivered ---completed or in process?? I guess it's too much and fast cash is so much better.
my son just last night had his car broken in to and lost a digital camera, GPS , and a laptop computer, all at a value of approximately $1475. He has no renters insurance and only has full coverage on his car..ie comprehensive, collision and liability. Does he have any recourse towards this loss?
need to know what % of the salvage suv would for a totaled out hail damage to buy back
My boyfriend and i were in car accident recently. I was the driver and fell asleep behind the wheel, we rolled four times and he lost a finger on his right hand and his work requires him to use that hand. Since he was the passenger in a single car accident what are the steps to getting this settled and if there's a limit on the insurance, and treatment and pain and suffering exceed it what can we do since he can't really sue me. The car we wrecked was owned by my father and i'm not sure what we need to do. Any advice? Any idea what to expect from a settlement?
Ok. Last year in November I was walking down some stairs in a building here in Phoenix. The handrail was loose and not knowing I grabbed it and it gave out and I fell. I had an ER visit and had some neck pain upper back pain and some left hip pain. Everything was just strain or sprain. Nothing too serious. The company had Farmers for their property insurance and they were actually very nice and the insurance adjuster was nice as well. We got everything worked out and I received my wages, medical bills and apprx. $3500 pain and suffering, which I thought was very fair. Now the STRANGE part. And I realize you do not know me from Adam but I am a very honest person. Last week just about the same thing happened at a different building. When I fell, I notified the office (property management) and they sent me an email stating they were sorry and that they'd had several calls about it but andquot;just never got around to calling someone out to fix it!andquot; This was a lot worse of a fall when it comes to the injuries. I had a bulging disc, nerve impingement and my right wrist sprained (I guess the wrist is not a big deal). Now the insurance sent me medical auth forms and they are going over everything. I told them, and as the medical records state, the first fall was left hip, high back, etc. and this is totally different. Much more painful, more treatment, etc. I guess my question is am I screwed? I know it is coincidental but it is honest. From my conversation with the agent today he is not questioning the fall, but a pre-existing injury. I kind of don't get that though. Am I in trouble here? The doc has told me I cannot work for a while. More than likely up to 6 weeks he states. Can't afford to not be able to recover that money, not to mention the doc fees, etc. I honestly did nothing wrong. Thank you in advance for any opinions. Steve
I had a car accident 2.5 years ago. My car was totalled and I got paid for the car loss by the defendant's insurance company. I have been having low back pain, hip pain and leg pain on my right side since the accident. I was diagnosed with disc protrusion. I have had physical therapy, facet injections, ESIs, accupuncture, taking anti-inflammatory medicines, etc, but nothing had worked so far. My medical bills come to $45,000, my out of pocket payment (deductible) is about $4,500. I didn't have actual wage loss since I am paid salary not hourly. My treatment is still going on. The defendant/trucking company hired an attorney. I had a deposition two months ago and a deposition with my primary doctor was scheduled in late July. Today, my lawyer told me that the defendant attorney made an offer of $50,000 which will leave me about $15,000. My attorney called this offer a decent one. Considering the suffering that I have had and future treatment, plus $4,500 that I have paid out of pocket for the medical bills, I don't feel this is a fair offer. Should I accept this offer? I appreciate your comments.
I have a 90 miata 114,000 mi showroom condition with lots of upgrades. I was in accident other ins co admitted fault. thier estimate was 4300.00 so they want to total it, but by nada price 2450-4000 you cannot touch a miata in like condition for about 6000. what can I do to appeal to the adjuster that I want my car fixed.
i want to know why medical underwriting is so important in india?why sometimes non-medical cases are excepted?
Hi all! I’m Linda, a 32 yrs old mother of two. I’m recently considering purchasing a car for myself and thus would like to know about the cost of auto insurance policies. Though my husband has a car, but I never thought of driving it of my own. Hence I’m not covered under his plan. My questions are Should I consider buying a policy of my own? Or shall I ask my husband to include me in his plan? Is there any special plan available for the female drivers? As I have never drove before how the insurer will judge my credibility as a driver? And how will they rate me? Thank you all in advance for all the suggestions…. Linda
A couple of days ago I was rearended on the interstate. I live in North Carolina and the other driver was at fault. My car is '98 Ford Mustang Gt It will undoubtly be a totaled. My delimma is that I owe more than its worth, I probably owe $1500 more than the ACV. I don't have GAP insurance, but I was wandering if I have any hope of getting the insurance company to settle for the payoff amount and not the ACV. As far as injury claims I told the adjuster I was fine which was probably a bad idea as i now am expereincing neck injuries. My girlfriend who was in the passenger seat did go to the ER and get x-rays due to chest pains and a minor wrist injury. She also has had neck pains which are causing headaches and nausea(migrain). How much should we ask for when settleing. On behalf of my girlfriend is it possible to get reimbursemnet for personal items. She was carrying her purse ($300) and her wallet ($250). They were both ruined when the airbag crushed her cup of cheerwine. I have only talked to the adjuster once and just want to be ready for whats still to come. Of course I don't expect exact figures, but ballpark figures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any advice.
