Subject: My Driver Swing Posted: 17 May 2008 at 9:07am I was getting hung up in weight shift, instead of focusing on coil. Zapped my power/distance. Now I want to feel that coil on the inside of my right leg, get the "necktie" in place. From there," squash the bug" has become bumping the weight and settling it back on my left hip, using the inside of my left foot as the pivot point. Just swung my 5i about 30 times in the middle of this... necktie/coil - STB....necktie/coil - STB....necktie/coil - STB....necktie/coil - STB.... You got the great turn and flow to your swing. Just need to get in the right position at the top and I am sure you will be single-digit in NO time! Edited by RandomHero1090 - Today at 9:18am Sat, 17 May 2008 09:26:42 +0200

Posted: 17 May 2008 at 6:10am Originally posted by gwlee7 Since we're hijacking this thread, Ray did you try what I suggested about simply using a club or two stronger loft and using your putting grip on your chips? Yeah, we have hijacked it. Sorry. Yeah. It seems to work. I haven't been back on those greens over in Virginia again since, though. Sat, 17 May 2008 07:48:46 +0200

Subject: Setup - distance from golf ball Posted: 17 May 2008 at 5:48am The world is a tiny place now, my friend. I wondered why you were signing in so early! Sat, 17 May 2008 06:38:45 +0200

Subject: Setup - distance from golf ball Posted: 17 May 2008 at 4:38am Yes SK and you're right about when you bend over the arms should hang naturally. When they do that, you typically have the connection you need. BTW: It's cool when you can chat with people in England while I'm over in Kuwait. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll be able to chat with you from Africa. You gotta love the internet... Sat, 17 May 2008 03:52:14 +0200

Subject: Setup - distance from golf ball Posted: 17 May 2008 at 1:52am Agreed, Bob. I wasn't suggesting having them well away. I'm talking a matter of an inch. Better to have a tiny bit more more room than to be more cramped. Connection is still key though.

But simply put, the necktie is in the wrong place. I love that necktie concept. That and "squash the bug," and I am pretty well set. Get your set-up correct, get your takeaway on the right track and these are, as you say, all you need. I've been having trouble feeling my transition move recently, but now I know why. I simply wasn't creating enough dynamic coil so the transition had to be more conscious and forced. Now I'm coiling up properly the simplicity of a little bump is all that's needed. Way to work! ![]() BTW: Listening to Randini usually results in good things...agreed? [/QUOTE] Absolutely. That's why I asked him before posting my swing up. Randy's advise is always simple yet effective. Sat, 17 May 2008 00:14:43 +0200

Subject: Setup - distance from golf ball Posted: 16 May 2008 at 10:09pm If you get too far away from the ball, it's very easy for the arms to get disconnected from the sides of the chest. IMHO, you want to feel connected at setup and then maitain that connection through the swing. Even with passive arms, if they're not connected, they're not being controlled by the body. I have the same issues as drmhoffman when I stray a bit too far from the ball... Regards, Bob
