Anyhow they seem like a nice bunch of groovy guys with a very nice site and sexy technology so I decided to get Digital Tunes all loved up programmatically and embarked on a bit of API intercourse. The result of this love-fest is that our labels will soon be able to grab the music they uploaded to SoundCloud and sneak it over to Digital Tunes at the touch of the button, nifty eh? It's all pretty much up and running as we speak, although there is one teeny problem we have to iron out before we can properly get down to it, so to speak. That's the problem with being promiscuous in a beta world... Sat, 11 Oct 2008 01:12:00 +0200 We've been beavering away like eager beavers implementing a nice interface with the moo.com online printing service. The first fruit of this activity is now almost ready, and the first few hundreds of free tune cards are in the post as we speak! Since 2006 we've had the technology in place to generate random codes which allowed people to access a free track. We already use this in multiple ways: for giving credit vouchers on the store, for labels to send promos out, and for users to give gift vouchers to friends. But now we've hooked up the technology to some good old fashioned paper-and-ink minicards from moo.com, which means our labels can now hand out some nice bits of paper to some lucky people, who can then turn them into a free tune (which of course includes flac/wav if they want). And none of this shady, oh sorry this code is no longer valid bizness! The coolest thing about the integration with moo.com, is that if our labels want a custom design, no problem. As long as it has a teeny weeny bit of digital tunes branding (you know we still got cats to feed...) then that's cool with us. Expect to see a few of these cards in some underground clubs around the world over the next few months ;) ![]() Sat, 11 Oct 2008 01:01:00 +0200
There are lots of new things we have bubbling on the pot, so make sure to sort out a meeting with me or Glenn, whatever it may be, from showing us your latest Dubstep monster, to talking about licensing our store technology, or perhaps if you want to hear some of the cool shit we have in the pipeline! Wed, 16 Jan 2008 08:28:00 +0100 A new browsing section 'Recent Arrivals' was added to Digital Tunes in the latest update, in this section you will find all releases we have just received, but which aren't necessarily "new": usually back catalogue items which we have received in-store for the first time. For example recent arrivals in Minimal/ Tech House are at http://www.digital-tunes.net/genres/minimal_tech_house/recent_arrivals.This is a good place to check for any releases that had a delayed digital release date, or for catching some labels that have only just moved to digital. 'Recent Arrivals' shows all releases we received in the past 7 days for the genre of your choosing, and in the release date column also shows when we received the title. This month also sees a new face join Digital Tunes: Jari will be helping us with the Minimal / Tech House section, so watch out for lots of fresh new minimal techno beats coming this way! Jari, aka Zentex has had tracks released on some of the biggest labels in the scene, so we are very excited to have him working at Digital Tunes. If you want to get in touch drop him a mail at yari at digital-tunes.net. Tue, 04 Dec 2007 21:04:00 +0100 All you have to do is type your mates email address, and an optional subject and greeting message, and of course hand us over a few gold coins, and you're done. So a nice way to sort out some pressies with the minimum of hassle... Anyhow, knock yourself out at http://www.digital-tunes.net/gift_voucher. Mon, 19 Nov 2007 14:32:00 +0100 Today we rolled out an update to Digital Tunes which includes the brand new Digital Tunes facebook application and some other nice facebook integration features.
One of the coolest new features is that now customers can login straight from Facebook into Digital Tunes, so if you are a facebook user you don't have to register to buy tunes. When you purchase tunes using your facebook login then your friends will be told about your latest purchases, so you can easily keep them up to date with the latest tunes in your bag.
For artists and labels with music for sale on Digital Tunes, or for fans of the artists or labels, you can easily share your music with friends on Facebook by adding the Digital Tunes facebook app . You can create as many "selections" as you want, each one listing the latest releases from an artist/label or bestsellers list. When you create a selection all your friends will be alerted via the feed in facebook, and it will also be updated on to your profile page.
Each release on Digital Tunes also has a new "share" link, just underneath the catalogue number, letting you tell your friends on Facebook about it. This is a good way to share a find on Digital Tunes with your friends, or promote your new release.
Mon, 08 Oct 2007 16:46:00 +0200 Just released an update for the OSX Digital Tunes dashboard widget. This fixes a few bugs with the previous version.
Go grab it now! Wed, 03 Oct 2007 20:03:00 +0200 Last night as I took the clothes out of my washing machine found my iPod Nano nestling there which was kinda amusing for a few seconds until I realised that even though it now smells nice enough it might not be so good at playing music.
When I took it out it had this message "OK to disconnect" which was sorta heartwarming if a bit confusing. Bit like the thing committed suicide or something. But just gonna dry him out now and hope for the best... fingers crossed. Seems like quite a lot of people here on the fishing net have put there nanos/shuffles through the wash and usually they were ok, so lets hope eh. Yes, it's a Digital Tunes iPod :D ![]() Fri, 28 Sep 2007 12:05:00 +0200 Our data server will be down for a short period from 12:30 CET, this will mean downloads will not work for a short period. Tue, 25 Sep 2007 10:01:00 +0200 Digital Tunes will be down for approximately half an hour from 17:30 CET on Wednesday 26th of September for maintenance. Please note this does not effect our data servers, so any downloads you start should still run even while the web server is down. |
